A Christmas party was being held at Ruff and Tuff's house.

Just as Hiccup had predicted, all the parents of The Nine, those that came to the party, including Mor'du, chose to believe North's judgment of Munds over Jack's claim that Eugene heard Munds speaking to Hans about their Unbreakable Vow.

Mor'du adding if they were to fight amongst themselves, then they would be doomed during such a terrible time.

Once all the adults had left the living room, Elsa came and sat next to Jack with a plate full of brownies.

"Hurry and eat these chocolate brownies with me before Anna can get any," Elsa said.

Jack chuckled. "Boy, Naveen wishes he were me right now."

Elsa grinned, but furrowed her brows in confusion. "What?"

Jack stopped before putting a brownie in his mouth. "What?"

"There you are!" Anna yelled and rushed towards the duo.

Later, Stoick and Jack were in the shed outside.

"I'm sorry your father could not make it tonight, but he is still being heavily watched," Stoick said.

"It's okay," Jack said. "What about you and Aunt Valka?"

"We are not being watched or followed anymore, thankfully. Granted, we weren't being spied on as much at the start anyways."

Jack nodded. "Did you give my letter to dad?"

"I did. I read it, as well. North traveling is nothing to be concerned with; may just be something he is doing to get away from the Ministry's view every now and then. As for the object you described in Borgin and Burkes, it sounds like a Vanishing Cabinet."

Jack folded his arms. "Makes sense as to why someone in league with Drago would be interested in that. Is the one and Borgin and Burkes still there?"

"It is."

As the night drew later, Mor'du and Anastasia decided to leave.

Anastasia told Stoick and Valka, Mor'du was temperamental due to the starting cycle of the full moon.

Mor'du stared out to their vast yard, feeling something was about to happen.

"Sweetheart"— Anastasia put her hand on Mor'du's shoulder — "are you alright?"

Jack was staring out a window from one of the many staircases.

Elsa, in a robe, approached Jack.

Jack stood and Elsa asked if Anna had gone to bed.

"Not yet, I don't think."

Elsa glanced down, grinned and said, "Your shoelace."

"What?"

Elsa quickly knelt down and tied Jack's shoe.

When Elsa stood, palpable romantic tension formed.

"Merry Christmas, Jack."

"Merry Christmas," Jack replied.

As Jack went to close the gap between them, aiming to capture Elsa in a kiss, a roaring fire spell landed in front of the house.

The spell created a ring of fire around the home and Gothel revealed herself.

Jack hastily ran outside.

Gothel darted through the opening left by the spell.

Mor'du ran after Jack and Anastasia after him.

However, once Jack went through the opening, the ends began to lash out at Mor'du and Anastasia, keeping them at bay as they fought back.

Elsa followed Jack, inciting Stoick to join the fray, but he too was stopped by the same fiery forgoes like Mor'du and Anastasia.

As Jack chased Gothel, she sang the same taunt she used against Eugene at The Department of Mysteries and asked Jack if he was coming to get her.

Jack stopped and looked around the field. He saw nothing but wheat and heard only crickets.

Elsa reached the marsh before Jack, stopped, heard a noise behind her, and called out Jack's name.

As Elsa backed away from the figure approaching her, they appeared with a wide grin; it was Clayton.

Elsa didn't know what to do against the intimidating figure, but luckily Jack came behind her and used Stupify against the Death Eater.

Clayton blocked the spell, flew into the air, and back down into the thick field.

Elsa and Jack turned around again-and-again, following the noises of Gothel and Clayton flying and running through the field surrounding them.

Gothel stopped and stared at the teens.

"Jack!" Mor'du shouted from the distance, having finally got past the whips of fire.

Anastasia ran up next to Mor'du, but before they could say anything, they heard the sound of wands blocking spells and dashed ahead.

Elsa and Jack were blocking spell after spell.

"Elsa!" Stoick yelled as he too made his way towards the fight.

The three adults got to the teens and huddled with them back-to-back.

Gothel, Clayton, and another Death Eater growled and hissed as they looked at their five adversaries, but they chose to fly off and attack the house instead of continuing to fight.

"Valka!" Stoick screamed and ran back to the house.

When they all returned, everyone else was standing outside, watching the flames swallow up the home.

At Hogwarts, after the holidays, Rapunzel, Eugene, Jack, and Merida were walking about the halls.

Rapunzel closed a newspaper about members of The Ministry disappearing. "I can't believe how easy it is for them to find us."

"Aye," Merdia agreed. "We're lucky we weren't killed."

"Some more lucky than others," Eugene said, giving Jack a stern look.

Jack shook his head. "How many times do I have to say 'I'm sorry'?"

They turned a corner and saw Fishlegs sitting with Tink.

Fishlegs looked to them, his eyes pleading for them to kill him as he signed his thanks to Tink.

Tink put the necklace she got him around his neck and hugged him with a wide smile, jingling with the bells she was gifted at her waist.

"Excuse me," Merida said, "I have to go and vomit."

Rapunzel followed her.

Jack sighed and turned to Eugene, but he was gone and nowhere in the hall.

Later that night, Jack was beckoned by North to visit his office.

"What's up, Uncle North?" Jack asked, as he approached North's desk.

"I would like to show you something." North then held up a clear vile.

"A memory?"

"Da, the most important memory I have of Drago."

They made their way to North's Pensieve and North poured the memory into the Pensieve and let Jack watch.

In Stein's party room, a few students were sitting at the table with Stein, chuckling at a joke he had made.

"Sir," one of the boys said (imagine DJ from Monster House), "are you enjoying the candied pineapples I brought?"

Stein ate one of the candies. "I am. How did you know this was my favorite candy?"

Dustin smirked. "Intuition."

Stein grinned.

A bell chimed and Stein told all the students it was late and to go to bed.

Once they were all gone, Dustin tapped Stein's hour glass.

Stein turned to Dustin and smiled. "Dustin. You should go back to your room before you get caught out after hours."

Dustin shrugged.

"Is something on your mind, Dustin?"

"Yes, sir," Dustin answered and walked over to Stein. "You see, I couldn't think of anyone else to go to. The other professors, well, they're not like you. They might misunderstand."

"Go on."

"I was in the library the other night…in the Restricted Section…and I read something odd about some rare magic. And I thought you could enlighten me. It's called-" Dustin's sentence became distorted.

Stein began to shout at Dustin and the memory quickly ended.

Jack looked to North. "What happened?"

North sat next to Jack. "While that is the most important memory I have collected, it is also a lie. The memory has been altered by the person it comes from, Professor Stein."

"But why would he alter his own memory?"

"I assume, out of shame."

"Why would he be ashamed?"

"'Why' is exactly the question we need to answer." North stood in front of Jack. "I asked you to get to know Professor Stein and you have. Now, I want you to convince him to give you his true memory, anyway you can."

"But I still don't know him that well."

"Without the real memory we are left to stumble about blindly. We will be leaving the fate of our world and The Muggle world to chance. You must get the true memory and you must not fail."

Jack nodded.

The next day, Jack went into Stein's classroom after having taught a class.

"Well, if it isn't the Trades Master himself," Stein boasted when he saw Jack.

"Is that a 'Jack of all Trades' reference?" Jack smirked.

"It is! I've been brushing up on my Muggle terminology."

The two shared a chuckle.

"What do I owe this pleasure?"

"I was hoping to ask you something."

"Ask away, my boy."

"I was in the Restricted Section the other night and I read something odd about some rare magic. And I thought you could illuminate me."

"What was this 'rare' piece of magic?"

"I can't remember the name, but it got me wondering…are there some kinds of magic you're not allowed to teach us? Besides the Unforgivable Curses, of course."

Stein began to make his way out the door. "I'm a Potions professor, Jack. I think you should be asking Munds this question."

Jack chuckled. "He and I don't exactly get along."

Stein stopped and turned to Jack.

"He…he's not like you. He'll misunderstand."

"Trust me, Jack. There can be light without the dark in magic; which is why I choose to stay to the light. You should do the same." Stein again attempted to leave.

"Is that what you told Dustin Babcock when he came and asked you questions?"

Stein stopped once more and turned to Jack. "North…he put you up to this, didn't he!?" Stein was clearly hurt and stormed off.

Later that night, Jack knocked on Stein's office door, but before Jack could ask to speak with Stein, the professor told him he was too busy.

Jack relocated to his room and saw Fishlegs sitting at the window by his bed, staring up at the moon.

"Fishlegs?" Jack asked.

"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" Fishlegs asked.

"I guess. I've never been the moon's biggest fan." Jack looked around at all the unwrapped candy wrappers on his bed and beside Fishlegs. "Did you smell the candies in my room and decide to pillage?"

Fishlegs turned to Jack and laughed. "You're funny." He stood, still holding the box that was once full of candy. "I actually came here to speak to you, but I forgot about what."

Jack noticed Fishlegs's wide and goofy grin. "Well, I'm glad you found something to preoccupy yourself with while you waited."

"I can't stop thinking about her, Jack."

"Honestly, I thought she was starting to annoy you." Jack plopped onto his bed.

Fishlegs darted next to Jack, sitting on his bed with him. "She could never annoy me. Why, I think I love her."

Jack quirked a brow and Fishlegs nodded. "That's great, pal." Jack said awkwardly as he got off the bed and sat on an empty bed next to his.

"Do you think she knows I exist?" Fishlegs asked.

"Boy, I hope so; considering how often she puts her tongue down your throat."

Fishlegs frowned. "What? Who are you talking about?"

"Bit—Who-Who are you talking about?" Jack was getting annoyed by the conversation.

"Periwinkle, of course."

Jack chuckled. "Funny." He got up and started cleaning Fishlegs's mess. "You're a real riot."

Fishlegs stood and threw the box at Jack.

"Ow! What was that for!?" Jack straightened up and faced Fishlegs.

"It's not a joke! I'm in love with her!"

"Okay, cool, you're in love with her. Have you actually met her?"

"No…can you introduce me?"

"Uh…"

Fishlegs went back to grinning like an idiot and sat at the window to stare at the moon again.

Jack found the note from Periwinkle and told Fishlegs he would take him to meet her.

Fishlegs grinned even wider and the two went off.

Jack knocked on Stein's door and spoke quickly when Stein opened his peephole. "Something has happened to my friend, please help us."

"That's not Periwinkle."

Stein furrowed his brows at Fishlegs and asked Jack, "What's the matter with Ingerland?"

Jack went up to the door and whispered, "A very powerful love potion."

Stein allowed them inside to help. He said he figured Jack could've whipped up a counter potion.

"I figured this could use more experienced skills, sir."

Fishlegs stroked Stein's cheek with the back of his hand. "Hello, Periwinkle. Would you like a drink?"

"Seems you were right," Stein said to Jack.

Jack grabbed Fishlegs and sat him down. "I'm sorry about earlier, Professor."

"It's fine. As the Muggles say, 'it's all water under the bridge'."

Jack made his way back to Stein's side. "Well, I'm sure you're tired of constantly being asked questions about Drago."

Stein looked at Jack. "Don't use that name."

Once finished making the potion, Stein handed to Fishlegs and told him to drink up.

After one sip Fishlegs was back to normal.

"What happened to me?" Fishlegs asked.

"A love potion," Jack answered.

"A mighty strong one," Stein added and took the drink away from Fishlegs.

"I feel sick," Fishlegs said.

Stein chuckled. "You need some mead. It'll pick you right up!" Stein made them all a glass and handed the boys their drinks.

Fishlegs sipped his first and fell to the ground shaking and foaming at the mouth.

"Fishlegs!" Jack ran to Stein's drawer of potions.

"I don't understand what's happening." Stein said, completely baffled.

Jack found what he needed and put it in Fishlegs's mouth. "Breathe, buddy."

After a moment, Fishlegs began coughing. He sat up and told Jack, "These women will be the death of me, Jack."

The next day, Fishlegs was in the infirmary surrounded by The Nine.

North, Munds, Elinor, and Stein walked in.

"Good thinking using a bezoar, Jack," North said. "You must be proud of your student, Frank."

"What?" Stein asked. "Oh, yes; very proud."

"Jack's actions were heroic, but why were they necessary?" Elinor asked.

"'Why' indeed," North said. He then walked over to Stein, who was holding the mead bottle he had used before. "That looks like a gift, Frank. Do you remember who gave you this bottle?"

Stein shook his head.

North took the bottle and sniffed it. "It should smell of licorice and cherry, but it's polluted with poison." He handed it off to Munds for a sniff.

"Honestly, I was going to give it to you as a gift," Stein admitted.

As the realization of the devious scheme settled, it was interrupted by the door slamming and the chiming of bells.

Tink came running to Fishlegs's bed and signed asking if Fishlegs had asked about her.

Everyone shook their heads.

Fishlegs began to mumble.

Tink signed that a person calls out to their true love when they are in such a state.

Jack and Flynn shared a confused look. "Sure…" they both said.

"M-Me…" Fishlegs began to say.

Merida's heart raced as Tink's sank.

Fishlegs then shouted, "Meatlug!"

"Oh, gods," Hiccup said and looked up to the ceiling.

Astrid told him and herself, "Don't laugh."

Tink signed, "What?"

Merida answered, "It's his pet."

"Oh," Tink signed and then quickly walked out of the room.

Flynn crossed his arms and Jack began breathing heavily, both trying not to laugh.

North then said, "Oh to be young and in love again."

Jack chuckled.

Flynn snorted.

The Nine all began to chuckle and it quickly became uproarious laughter.

They started to mock Fishlegs, Tink, and North.

Sometime later, Flynn nodded to Hans in passing as Hans made his way to the Room of Requirement. There, he put a bird in the Vanishing Cabinet and when it came back, the bird was dead; causing him to sob.

The next day, Fishlegs, Jack, Hiccup, and Astrid were all sitting together in the Great Hall.

Fishlegs looked to Tink who was glaring at him from two tables over, completely red all over.

It began to snow over the four of them.

"Fishlegs, stop," Hiccup said.

"Sorry," Fishlegs apologized. "But I mean, look at Tink. She's red from pure anger after our breakup."

They all looked to her and she simply glared back at them.

Once turned back around, Jack cleared his throat and said, "Well, after you professed your love for your toad, I can't say I blame her."

"Frog, Jack. Meatlug is a frog," Fishlegs corrected Jack.

Jack chuckled and read a spell in his Potions book.

'Sectumsempra – For enemies,' it read.

"Jack," Astrid got his attention, "isn't that the girl who got injured from that necklace?"

Jack glanced to where Astrid was gesturing and saw the girl in question. He got up, grabbed his book, and walked briskly towards her. "Honeymaren. How are you?"

"I'm fine," Honeymaren answered. She chuckled and said, "I'm surprised you know my name."

Jack lightly chuckled. "After what happened…"

"Right," Honeymaren nodded. "Look, I know what you're going to ask, but I don't remember who cursed me that day. I've been trying to, but…" she looked over Jack's shoulder at Hans.

Jack turned and saw Hans standing like a deer in the headlights, seemingly holding back tears.

Hans rushed out of the Great Hall and Jack followed.

Jack was slowed by a crowd of students coming into the Hall.

Hans made it to a restroom, ran some water in a sink, pulled his vest off, and washed his face in an attempt to fight off a cry, but it failed.

Jack came into the restroom. "I know what you did, Hans. You hexed her."

Hans saw in the mirror that Jack was pointing his wand at him. Hans spun around, still sobbing.

"No, he didn't."

Both boys looked towards the voice and saw Flynn walking in.

"Shove off, Hans," Flynn commanded.

Hans sneered, but ran out of the room.

Jack tried to give chase, but was stopped by Flynn.

"What are you doing!?" Jack yelled and pocketed his wand.

"Hans didn't hex her, I did." Flynn revealed.

"What? Why?"

"You just have to trust me, Jack."

"Trust you? After you hexed an innocent girl and who knows what else!?"

The two brothers stared each other down as anger, confusion, fear, and sadness swelled in them.

Jack punched Flynn across the face.

Flynn hit Jack back and tackled him against the stall behind Jack.

Jack elbowed the back of Flynn's head and kneed him in the chest.

Flynn picked Jack up and slammed him to the ground.

Jack whipped out his wand and used a non-vocal spell to send Flynn against the same stall, but the wall of the stall collapsed.

Flynn used the same spell, but missed Jack and destroyed the sink at the end, having it spray water like a geyser.

Before Jack could use another spell, Flynn quickly used Accio on Jack's shirt, bringing Jack to him.

Flynn kicked Jack in the chest with both feet, sending him to the ground, gasping for air. Flynn got to his feet and used Expelliarmus, sending Jack's wand away behind him.

Jack tried to scurry towards his wand.

"Oh, no, you don't!" Flynn rushed Jack and grabbed his ankles, not noticing Jack succeeded in getting his wand. "I can't beat you in a magic dual, but I can beat you in a fist fight." Flynn flipped Jack on his back and pulled him close.

Jack pointed his wand at Flynn's chest and casted, "Sectumsempra!"

Flynn shouted in pain and fell back onto the floor.

Jack heard Flynn coughing and gasping as the water from the sink sprayed onto them both. He stood and saw Flynn's torso bleeding from multiple areas. "Oh my-"

Munds interrupted by barging inside. He saw Flynn's wounds and stared at Jack in astonishment.

Jack couldn't bear to look to Flynn in the eye. He was at a loss for words, except for two. "I'm sorry," he told his injured brother.

Munds knelt down as Jack ran away and began to heal Flynn's wounds; his blood coming back into his body from the water on the floor.
