It had been almost 3 years since the guild was reunited and so much had happened over those years. Natsu and Lucy had eventually settled down with each other and got married. Not long afterwards, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, who they named Nashi. The guild, never missing a chance to have a party, held a special celebration every year on the anniversary of reuniting Fairy Tail. The guild hall was bustling with conversations between members excited to see one another. Though in all the excitement that is happening, Natsu and Lucy may have forgotten to find a babysitter for Nashi.
"Natsu can you watch her?" asked Lucy, as she looked over at Natsu.
" I thought you were gonna watch her," replied Natsu.
"I can't, I promised Levy, I'd help her with the decor," she said in reply.
"Well I can't watch her while working with fire," he grumbled slightly.
"I can watch her for you guys," Happy chirps up.
"Are you sure you can handle Nashi on your own?" Lucy asks Happy, while giving him a slightly skeptical look.
"Of course I can."
After some discussion, Natsu and Lucy agreed to let Happy watch their baby. Afterall Natsu and Happy have known each other for years so he completely trusts his exceed friend. It was also about time Nashi got a chance to bond with Happy a bit more. Lucy handed Happy a jar of mashed blackberries and said, "If she starts to get fussy just give her a little bit of this and she'll calm down".
"Aye" Happy replied.
"And don't let her out of your sight," she added sternly.
Happy patted Nashi's head and she giggled "Are you ready to have fun with uncle Happy?" he said with a grin.
Happy tickled her face with his tail and she couldn't stop giggling. He enjoyed playing with the little one as it brought back happy memories of when Natsu was little. Nashi soon was distracted though by all the party preparations that were going on around them and she proceeded to crawl away from Happy wanting to join everyone.
"So Lucy, how's the baby doing?" asked Levy, walking over after catching sight of Lucy.
"She's starting to crawl now. Problem is that she can't stop! You blink and you can't find her," Lucy says with a tired chuckle.
"I remember when Gale was that age," Levy replied. "Gajeel and I couldn't get him to sit still".
"How is he?" Lucy asked.
"Gajeel has been trying to teach him to be an iron dragon slayer," Levy replied with a shake of her head. "Last week he tried to feed Gale a piece of iron and he chipped a couple of his teeth. Gajeel can be such a mess sometimes."
"You wanna see a mess? You should see Natsu's cooking. He burns everything except the plates!" Lucy couldn't help but let out a sigh while thinking about Natsu's cooking.
Nashi was busy crawling all around the guild hall, while the adults were talking. The little explorer crawled under one of the tables that Erza and Wendy were setting up with baked goods. When Erza looked back at the table, she noticed that a plate full of cupcakes was just gone. She was so confused, where had they gone? All of a sudden she heard a tiny burp from under the table. "Hmm?" Erza hummed, as she kneeled down to look under the table. Seeing that the culprit was Nashi, Erza smiled and picked the baby up.
"Well it looks like someone has their father's appetite," Erza said as she tickled Nashi.
Wendy kissed Nashi on her forehead. "Oh, you're so cute."
"Nashi. There you are." Happy says as he flies over.
"You really need to do a better job watching her, she's just a baby. She can get into all sorts of trouble! " Carla scolded.
