S1:E7: Traveling Around the World With You (pt. 12)
The sun was starting to set as Kathy and Knuckles were running towards the two Anguirus monsters in the distance. They can see them wrecking more buildings with their tails and with their heads as they rammed into them.
SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!
CRAAAAAAAAASSSSHHH!
SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!
CRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSHH!
As rubble and dust were everywhere after the buildings were destroyed, the monsters roared in victory.
EEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHH! EEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
"Hmm...It seems that we can't distract one monster without alerting the other one. This one's going to be a bit tough. Got any ideas, Kathy?" Knuckles said calmly yet solemnly with a frown and with determined eyes as he ran beside Kathy while looking at the monsters before looking at her.
"Well...I might have one though..." Kathy replied calmly with a confident smile as she ran beside Knuckles and looked at him at her right. She then took out her green Sol Heart from her pocket while also holding onto her Sol Gems. Knuckles was about to ask why she brought her Sol Heart out until he saw her command her Sol Gems to bring out the gold necklace from the heart. After summoning out the gold necklace, she puts it over her neck and wore it.
Knuckles smirked as he calmly replied, "Ah. I see. Time to bring out the big guns, huh?".
"Yep! Surely, these plant-based attacks will slow them down! Just need to grab a hold of them like this, and we'll beat them while they're down!" Kathy exclaimed brightly with a grin as she commanded her Sol Gems to produce two, thorny vines, lassoed them, threw them towards the two Anguirus monsters, and stopped in her tracks once she had snagged the monsters' necks. Knuckles skidded to a halt too after seeing that Kathy had stopped running. He watched her tug hard onto her spiky vines while she had a confident yet determined look on her face. He soon looked back at the monsters and saw them roaring in pain due to being choked with spiky vines around their necks.
EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
They shook their heads around to try to get the vines off, but Kathy was determined to keep holding onto them and tug them a lot. Scratches were made as the monsters shook and pulled away from the vines. But Kathy still had a firm grip onto both of them. Dark particles trickled down the monster's necks after being wounded by the spiky vines. The monsters roared again but in frustration this time since they were struggling to get themselves out from the trap.
EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHH!
"Hah! You got them now! Now, it's time for me to punch the daylights out of them before they even-!" Knuckles exclaimed in determination with a huge, mischievous grin and with furrowed eyebrows as he punched his open palm while he stared at the monsters. However, before he could finish that sentence, the Anguirus monsters decided to roll away to break the spiky vines. Kathy gasped in shock when she felt the vines snapping after the monsters curled up into balls and rolled away. She and Knuckles gaped in shock when they saw the monsters bulldoze more buildings with their rolling moves.
CRRRRAAAAAAAASSSSHHH! CRRRAAAAAAAAAAASSSH! CRRRAAAAAAAAASSSHHH! CRRRRAAAAAASSHHH! CRRRRAAAAAAAASSSH! CRAAAAAASSSSHHH! CRRRAAAAAAASSSSHH!
More buildings crumbled to the ground like dominos after the monsters rolled into them. Knuckles stared at the monsters with a slacked-jaw and with wide eyes as he finished his sentence awkwardly, "...get away...".
"Well...That didn't work..." Kathy muttered sheepishly with an awkward frown and with upward eyebrows as she commanded her gems to stop producing the vines.
"Come on! Let's go after them! If they're going to make us fight them the hard way then so be it! I'm not giving up!" Knuckles exclaimed in determination with a frown and with furrowed eyebrows as he looked at Kathy while having a fist up. Kathy looked at Knuckles and smiled brightly at him.
"Me neither, Knuckles! If we're going to stop them, we might as well catch up to them! Come on, Knuckles! It's time to fly!" Kathy exclaimed back in determination with a bright smile and with a nod as she waved her fingers towards herself for emphasis.
"Heh! Got it!" Knuckles exclaimed back in determination with a grin and with amused eyes as he nodded a little to her before getting behind her back and wrapped his arms and ankles around her. After feeling Knuckles latching onto her, she then immediately flew up into the air and surveyed the area to see where the Anguirus monsters are heading next. She saw them rolling in the northeastern direction and flew in that direction to catch up to them.
[Meanwhile With Shadow]

While the six Anguirus monsters continued rampaging through the city, Shadow was skating down from the mountain before he made a jump-flip through the air after speeding through a ramp. He soon landed in front of the rampaging monsters and slowly got into a battle pose. He could see the monsters slowly come to a halt when they saw Shadow and glared at him.
Shadow glared back at them while he muttered calmly with a solemn frown, "So this is what I'm dealing with now, huh?".
EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGGHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGHH!
The Anguirus monsters roared in anger of the new opponent facing them and had prepared their bodies to fight back.
Shadow shrugged to this as he calmly muttered to himself, "Fine by me".
After saying that, he quickly skated towards the Anguirus monsters as he's ready to fight them. All of the Anguirus monsters charged at Shadow in a stampede formation as buildings were crushed under feet.
CRRRRAAAAAAAAASSSHH! CRRRRAAAAAAAAAASSSHH! CRRRAAAAAAAAASSSHH! CRRRAAAAAASSHH!
Rubble and dust were left after the buildings were stomped and crushed under the monster's feet. Two Anguirus monsters started to roll into balls to defend themselves and attack Shadow. Shadow dodged the first big, spiky ball by skating to the right and dodged the second one by skating to the left. As the two balls rolled, they destroyed more buildings by ramming into them.
CRRRRAAAAAAAAAAASSSHH! CRRRRAAAAAAAAAASSSHHH! CRRRAAAAAAAAASSSHH! CRRRAAAAASSH!
Buildings were knocked down, and rubble filled the streets after the buildings were destroyed. The third Anguirus monster soon leapt forward ahead of his brethren and roared in fury as he glared down at Shadow.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
Before the Anguirus monster had the chance to crush Shadow with his own body, Shadow quickly looked up and air boosted upwards towards the monster after jumping. He had slammed his own body very hard onto the monster's stomach and had knocked the monster backwards onto himself.
EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHH!
The Anguirus monster roared in pain as he landed onto his back after being knocked back. The other Anguirus monsters stopped in their tracks and roared furiously at Shadow after seeing him taking down their comrade.
EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
Shadow ignored their angry roars as he then used his Super Spinball move to continue attacking the fallen Anguirus monster. He slammed the monster's stomach multiple times without showing any mercy to him. The Anguirus monster roared even more in pain while he flailed his legs around.
SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!
EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHH!
POOF!
Just as quickly Shadow had knocked the monster down to the ground, he was able to make the monster disappear just as quickly too. Dark particles were everywhere after Shadow destroyed the monster. He landed back onto the ground and glared coldly at the other three monsters with a deep frown on his face. He can see the three Anguirus monsters looking fierce as they glared back at him. Two of the three monsters soon slowly walked around Shadow on different sides while the remaining monster stood back in a battle pose. The monsters were planning to surround Shadow and pounce at him all at once to catch him off guard. However, Shadow was more observant as he watched the two monsters get into their ready positions on the left and right sides of the streets. He waited for all of them to charge at once, and when he saw them do that a few seconds later, he quickly pulled out his green Chaos Emerald as he's prepared to escape through Chaos Control.
"Chaos Control!" Shadow yelled out with a solemn frown and with closed eyes while holding up the Chaos Emerald. The emerald glowed very brightly before it warped Shadow away as the monsters leapt at him simultaneously.
PING!
CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP!
The Anguirus monsters chomped simultaneously after they had landed and were soon confused when they saw that their opponent was gone. They looked around the area in confusion while roaring a little in frustration.
EEEEUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
PING!
Shadow reappeared behind the Anguirus monster on the right and had turned around to see the monster wagging his tail haphazardly. Shadow grimaced before he went into his Spinball Form again and went under the monster's body while avoiding the large tail. He slammed the monster's stomach very hard with his spinball and flipped him over onto his back.
EEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHH!
The Anguirus monster roared in pain as he was suddenly flipped over onto his back. The monster had even knocked down his comrade by landing on top of his head and back.
EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHH!
The other Anguirus monster roared in pain after feeling the weight of his comrade land on top of him. He flopped to the ground after his comrade landed on top of him. Shadow stood on top of the Anguirus monster's stomach and glared up at the remaining Anguirus monster. The Anguirus monster looked furious after seeing Shadow attack his brethren and was about to attack him by chomping him after he had briefly stood up and roared in anger.
EEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
However, while the monster was in the middle of roaring, Shadow quickly attacked him by throwing Chaos Spears at him.
"Chaos Spear!" Shadow yelled in determination with a solemn frown and with furrowed eyebrows as he threw multiple spears at the monster's mouth. The Anguirus monster hadn't expected that and had roared in pain while jerking himself backwards as he waved his front legs a bit. Some sparks and explosions came off from the monster's mouth after being hit by Chaos Spears.
BOOOOOOOOM! KAAABOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOM! KAAABOOOOOOM!
EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHH!
Shadow then quickly got into his Spinball Form and spun towards the standing Anguirus monster. He slammed hard onto the monster's stomach and made the monster fall over onto his back. The monster roared in pain as he fell backwards.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
After landing on top of the other monster, Shadow looked at the monster and at the other fallen monster. He can see the two of them struggling to get up as they flailed their legs around. However, he didn't show any mercy to either of them as he quickly slammed into both of their stomachs with his spinball move. He repeatedly slammed into them at fast speeds while the two monsters roared in agony together.
SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!
EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGHH! EEEEEEUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUGGGGGHH!
Shadow kept striking the two monsters until they exploded into dark particles.
SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHH!
POOF! POOF!
The Anguirus monsters roared in unison one last time before they had exploded into dark particles. Shadow had landed in front of the last fallen Anguirus monster and glared down at him with a solemn frown. The monster wearily moved his head up a bit before putting it back down while roaring a little in pain.
EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
"Hmph. How pitiful," Shadow muttered calmly with a solemn frown as he slowly walked towards the monster's head and had stepped onto his snout with one foot. If this is all what Battra is capable of producing, then this is truly disappointing. I've expected better than this. Shadow brooded calmly with a grimace and with closed eyes while he builds up the energy to do a Chaos Blast. His body glowed red, and he crossed his arms over his face as he was ready to unleash his ruthless attack onto the monster.
Oh, well. Time to put it out its misery then. Shadow thought calmly before he released his powerful attack.
"Chaos Blast!" Shadow yelled out in determination as he opened up his arms while a fiery explosion erupts from his body and engulfs the monster with it.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
POOF!

The Anguirus monster roared in pain as he was being burned alive before he exploded into dark particles since the fiery explosion was too much for him. Flames were around the area where the monster used to be, and Shadow simply shrugged to this since it wasn't a big deal to him.
"Eh. I meant to do that," Shadow commented calmly with a solemn frown and with a slight eyeroll before he looked at his left. He can see that the last two Anguirus monsters are rolling back towards him in their spiky balls. He raised an eyebrow at that while pondering calmly with a frown. Huh. I figured that I was missing a few. Looks like these cowards are ready to be buried into their graves.
He then walked a bit backwards to stand in the middle of the street as he prepared himself to fight off the remaining monsters.
[Meanwhile With Kathy And Knuckles]
The two guardians were busy with their own two monsters as they flew after them. Eventually, Kathy was able to get ahead of the monsters and was able to fly several feet ahead of them.
"Aha! I finally got them where I want them! Now let's try hurting them with this!" Kathy exclaimed brightly with a grin as she flew in place while staring at the incoming spiky balls. She then held back her hands before thrusting them forward as she commanded her Sol Gems to summon huge thorn-bushes from the ground. As the ground glowed bright green, rows of thorn-bushes cropped up in the way where the monsters were heading towards. Kathy and Knuckles looked hopeful that this attack would work. Unfortunately for the two of them, their hopes were dashed when they saw the monsters rolling through the thorn-bushes and crushing them as if it was nothing. What makes matters worse is that they are heading right towards Kathy and Knuckles.
"Aaaaaah! K-K-Kathy! Fly! Fly away! Right now!" Knuckles screamed in panic as he stared at Kathy with a gaped mouth and with wide eyes.
"Right! Of course!" Kathy yelled in panic as she quickly flew towards the left side of the street and lets the two monsters roll right past her. As Kathy and Knuckles took in some deep breaths while having sweat drops on their heads, they watched the monsters destroy more buildings by rolling into them.
CRRRRAAAAAAAAASSSHHH! CRRRRAAAAAAAAASSSSHHH! CRRRAAAAAAAASSSHHH! CRRRAAAAAAAASSSHH!
Kathy and Knuckles kept staring at the monsters in shock before they slowly looked at each other.
…
"...I don't why I thought that would work," Kathy muttered awkwardly with a sheepish grin and with a swear drop while staring at Knuckles after the brief silence.
"Heh. You don't say," Knuckles replied calmly with a sheepish grin and with a sweat drop as he stared back at Kathy while forgiving her in his heart.
"Well, now what? If I can't stop them nor hurt them with my plant attacks, then what should we do? I'm out of options here," Kathy replied calmly with a frown and with upward eyebrows as she stared back at Knuckles.
"Well, we could just wait until they stop rolling," Knuckles suggested calmly with a frown and with a shrug as he stared back at Kathy.
"Do you really think that they're going to stop?! I mean! Look at them! They'll keep rolling until they've destroyed the entire-!" Kathy yelled back in annoyance with a frown and with furrowed eyebrows as she pointed at the monsters before looking back at them. She was then surprised when she saw the monsters finally uncurl themselves and skid to a stop before roaring in fury.
EEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
Kathy blinked her eyes for a bit before she muttered sheepishly with an awkward frown, "...city...".
Knuckles smiled hugely in amusement as he stared at the monsters with Kathy while saying calmly, "See, Kathy? What do I tell ya? Good things happen to those who wait. Patience is a virtue after all".
Kathy looked back at Knuckles and frowned in annoyance as she lowered her eyelids at him. She then muttered calmly in annoyance, "...You're the last person who gets to say that".
Knuckles genuinely laughed at that as he exclaimed in amusement with a huge smile, "Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! You have a point there! Heheheheheheheheheheh! But I'm saying it just in case you forget about it! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!".
"Yeah, and I'm saying that I could drop you off in case you forget about it," Kathy replied calmly in annoyance with a frown and with lowered eyelids as she stared back at Knuckles.
"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! Awww, come on, Kathy! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I was only teasing! Heheheheheheheheheh!" Knuckles exclaimed back in amusement with a huge smile and with upward eyebrows as he stared back at Kathy while laughing even more at that response. Kathy smiled in amusement as she quickly put her other Sol Gem into her right hand before cupping onto Knuckles' left cheek with her left hand.
"I know, Knuckles. I was teasing too," Kathy replied calmly with a gentle smile and with twinkling eyes as she warmly stared at Knuckles while tenderly massaging his left cheek in fondness. Knuckles soon stopped laughing and stared back at Kathy with a fond look on his face as he enjoyed her massaging his cheek. But before either of them could enjoy this warm moment even further, they heard more roars and loud crashes in the distance.
EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHH! EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHH!
CRRRRAAAAAAAASSSSH! CRRRRAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSHHH! CRRRRAAAAAAAASSSSHH!
They both cringed in surprise of these loud noises before they sobered up again. Kathy then lets go of Knuckles' cheek and grabbed her other Sol Gem back into her left hand. With a solemn frown, Kathy said calmly, "We really need to stay focused here".
"Right. Let's go stop those monsters now before they cause any more damage to the city," Knuckles replied calmly with a solemn frown and with a nod as he stared at Kathy.
"Agreed. Let's beat them already!" Kathy replied calmly yet solemnly in determination with a frown and with a nod as she had her fists up. After saying that, she quickly turned towards the right and flew very fast towards the monsters in the distance.
The Anguirus monsters continued to crush more buildings with their feet and tails, and rubble and dust were everywhere thanks to these attacks. Luckily, they were so distracted with destroying the buildings that Kathy flew gently down to the ground while being a couple feet away from them. Kathy scratched her chin with her finger as she tried to come up with a plan while Knuckles lets go of her and walked over to her right side.
Surely, there must be a way to distract them both so that we can sneak a hit on them. But how to do that I wonder? Kathy pondered curiously with a frown on her thoughtful face while staring at the two Anguirus monsters with intrigue.
"Hmmm...It may just be a thought...but I can't help but remember the time that you had distracted the Megalon monsters with your heat beams. Maybe if you could distract these monsters by using that, I could sneak under them and punch them," Knuckles said calmly with a solemn frown on his determined face as he stared briefly at the monsters before looking at Kathy while having his arms crossed.
"Ah! Of course! I could use my energy beams again! I-!" Kathy exclaimed in surprise with a gaped mouth and with wide eyes as she had her finger under her chin before she looked at Knuckles and had her hand down as she continued while having a sheepish look on her face, "How could I have forgotten about that? I even used my energy beams to distract the first Anguirus monster for crying out loud! How did I forget that very quickly after I had done that?!".
"I don't know..." Knuckles replied calmly with a frown and with a casual shrug while still having his arms crossed before he smirked cheekily as he playfully teased with a lowered eyebrow, "...Maybe it's because you were in the heat of the moment to even remember that".
Kathy pouted in annoyance at Knuckles' attempt of making that pun. She then clarified calmly in annoyance with a pout and with lowered eyelids, "They're called 'energy beams', Knuckles. Energy beams".
"Whatever. They look like heat beams to me," Knuckles replied calmly with a teasing smirk as he rolled his eyes a little in amusement. Kathy frowned in annoyance of that until she looked sheepish again.
"Anyways, I still can't believe that I had forgotten about that. Then again..." Kathy replied calmly with a sheepish frown and with upward eyebrows as she stared at Knuckles before she continued while shrugging, "...I'm still a novice in this whole fighting thing. I may have been trained for years on how to fight, but I lack the experience needed to actually fight these monsters with the abilities that I have. To have forgotten one of my most used attacks is pretty embarrassing in hindsight".
"Maybe. But then again, it could be performance anxiety. Anyone could forget what they just learned or studied when they're under pressure especially when they're well-versed in their studies too. It happens to all of us," Knuckles replied calmly with a gentle smile and with a lowered eyebrow as he stared sympathetically at Kathy while shrugging too.
"R-Really? Even you, Knuckles?" Kathy asked curiously in surprise as she stared back at Knuckles with intrigue.
"Yes, Kathy. Even me. Also, it's okay if you're inexperienced in fighting. This is why you had chosen me as your teammate. Not only to help you fight these monsters but also to give you insight on what to do. I'll always have your back, Kathy. If you need any ideas on how to beat these guys, you could always ask me for help. I believe in you, Kathy. You can do it. I know that you can," Knuckles replied calmly yet encouragingly with a gentle smile and with a nod as he grabbed Kathy's shoulder and gently squeezed it while staring at her with twinkling eyes. Kathy stared back at Knuckles with a gaped mouth and with twinkling eyes as she saw how caring he looks right now. Her heart pounding gently in adoration as she felt both encouraged and comforted by Knuckles.
He really does care about me...He's so sweet...Kathy thought fondly with a warm smile and with twinkling eyes as she stared back at Knuckles.
"Thank you, Knuckles. Thanks for believing in me. You're a true friend," Kathy replied calmly yet softly with a warm smile and with twinkling eyes as she stared at Knuckles.
"Hey...It's no problem, Kathy. It's no problem," Knuckles replied calmly yet gently with a warm smile and with half-lidded eyes as he rubbed Kathy's back a little in fondness. Kathy nodded with a bright smile before she looked determined as she looked at the Anguirus monsters instead.
"Well, with that said, let's start putting your plan into action by firing my energy beams at these monsters. While I do that, you run towards them and attack them while they're distracted. Got it?" Kathy replied calmly with a solemn frown and with determined eyes as she stared at the Anguirus monsters before glancing at Knuckles at the end.
"Got it. Fire when ready, Kathy," Knuckles replied calmly with a huge smile and with a nod as he got himself ready to run while staring at Kathy with determined eyes. Kathy smirked when she saw that Knuckles was ready and had prepared her body too into battle.
"Okay then. Time to spice things up!" Kathy replied in determination with a smirk and with solemn eyes as she leaned back a bit while charging her energy beams. Once her antennas had glowed completely in bright yellow, she fired her energy beams at the Anguirus monsters' feet so that she'll grab their attention. The beams had hit their feet, and sparks and explosions came off from them while the monsters roared in pain as they jumped a bit.
BOOOOOOOM! KAAABOOOOOM! KAAABOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM!
EEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
Kathy kept firing at their feet while also hitting their backs. More sparks and explosions came off from the monsters while they roared in pain.
BOOOOOOOOOM! KAAABOOOOOM! KAAABOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM! KAABOOOOOM!
EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
The Anguius monsters soon turned around and saw Kathy attacking them with her energy beams. She was now attacking their bodies and heads with her energy beams, and the monsters roared both in anger and in pain while sparks and explosions came off from their bodies and heads.
BOOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM! KAAABOOOOOOM! KAAAAABOOOOOOM! BOOOOOM!
EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEUUUUUUUUGGHH!
"Now, Knuckles! Run!" Kathy exclaimed brightly with a grin and with determined eyes as she continued firing her energy beams at the monsters.
"Right!" Knuckles exclaimed back with a grin and with determined eyes as he nodded a little before dashing off towards the Anguirus monsters. As he ran fast towards the rightmost Anguirus monster, he watched the sparks fly off from the monster as he was busy being attacked.

The Anguirus monster roared while shaking his head after feeling the beams hit him again. Knuckles smiled in amusement of this as he still admired that powerful attack from afar. Heh. It is a little hard to stay focused while you're watching explosions from a distance. But that won't stop me from doing what I need to do! Knuckles pondered calmly with a smile before he looked mischievous as he kept running towards the monster as fast as he can.
"Hey! It's time to tuck you guys in for a quick dirt nap!" Knuckles yelled out in determination with a mischievous smile and with playful eyes as he ran towards the Angurius monsters with his fists clenched. But before he actually reached the rightmost Anguirus monster, the monster roared again while curling into a ball and bouncing on the ground with it.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
With the monster bouncing onto the ground, the nearby buildings and streets shook violently, making the ground rumble a lot. The other Anguirus monster saw what his comrade is doing and curled into a ball before he bounced too so that he could protect himself from Kathy's attacks as well.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
The rumbling and shaking got worse when the other Anguirus monster bounced too, and this unfortunately had caused Knuckles to trip.
"Ah! Aw crud! Oof!" Knuckles exclaimed in shock and in slight pain as he tripped and fell onto his stomach.
"Oh no!" Kathy exclaimed in alarm with a gaped mouth and with wide eyes as she stopped firing her energy beams and stared at Knuckles instead. She watched him lying on the road with his arms stretched out while the ground shook below him.
Argh! Not again! Knuckles brooded in annoyance with a grimace and with closed eyes while cringing at the fact that this is the second day that he had tripped during a monster fight. What made matters worse is that the Anguirus monsters started bouncing forward across the street.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
Knuckles slowly opened his eyes again and screamed in panic when he saw the Anguirus monsters bouncing towards him.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" Knuckles screamed loudly in panic with wide eyes and with a gaped mouth while feeling the ground rumble underneath him.
"Shoot!" Kathy exclaimed in worry with a grimace and with solemn eyes as she quickly flew towards Knuckles to protect him while having her arms back and with a leg back. The rightmost Anguirus monster had gotten very close to Knuckles and had bounced very high into the air as he was about to crush him when he landed. Knuckles kept screaming in panic as he stared upwards with huge eyes and with a huge mouth.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Knuckles screamed in panic with a terrified look on his face while sweating a lot in nervousness. But thankfully for him, Kathy had managed to reach him in time and knelt beside him while having one hand on his back and while the other hand rose upwards.
"Shield!" Kathy yelled out in determination with a solemn frown and with serious eyes as she stared upwards too. After she had yelled that, her Sol Gems glowed purple as she formed a shield over herself and Knuckles. She made the shield just in time too as the Anguirus monster landed hard onto the shield before bouncing off of it.
THUMP!
Kathy and Knuckles cringed a little when they felt the ground shaking a lot after the Anguirus monster bounced onto the shield. The other Anguirus monster just bounced past the shield while making the ground rumble a lot as he went by the guardians.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
"Nnnggggh...Grrrrrnnngh..." Knuckles and Kathy grunted with gritted teeth and with closed eyes while still cringing from the aftershock of the two monsters bouncing near them. The monsters kept bouncing through the streets and away from the two guardians as the rumbling started to recede.

Knuckles and Kathy kept their eyes closed for a few moments after the rumbling had stopped before they slowly opened them and looked at each other.
"..." Kathy was silent as she stared at Knuckles with wide eyes and with a gaped mouth.
"..." Knuckles was silent too as he stared at Kathy with wide eyes and with a gaped mouth.
They could feel their hearts pounding fast as the adrenaline had kicked in to their systems. They could only breathe slowly to calm themselves down after that frightening experience they just had.
"...You...You saved me..." Knuckles muttered softly in shock as he stared at Kathy with a stunned expression on his face.
"...Yeah...I guess I did..." Kathy muttered softly in shock as she stared back at Knuckles with a stunned look too.
"Hmm..." Knuckles mused quietly with a little frown on his shocked face as he kept staring at Kathy. He soon slowly got up to his knees while still staring at Kathy in silence. Kathy stared back at Knuckles in silence too while still looking shocked.

But slowly, they grinned a little in amusement and in sheepishness since they still felt nervous.
"...Heheh...I...I didn't think that was going to happen when I had suggested that plan," Knuckles muttered calmly yet nervously in amusement with a little, sheepish grin and with a quiet chuckle as he stared at Kathy while having his hands on his lap.
"Hehehe...Me neither...Huh...Talk about bad luck," Kathy replied calmly in amusement with a little, sheepish grin and with a little giggle as she stared back at Knuckles while still holding onto his back.
"Yeah...Seriously...Heheheh..." Knuckles replied calmly in amusement with a little grin and with upward eyebrows as he chuckled a little again. He and Kathy grinned even more at each other in amusement with fond looks on their faces before they burst out into full-blown laughter since the nervousness of that surprising situation finally caught up to them.
"Pfffahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe! Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" Knuckles and Kathy laughed uncontrollably in amusement with huge smiles and with closed eyes as they both leaned a little to each other and held each other's shoulders in affection.
"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Boy, are we unlucky or what?! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Our plans had backfired three times now! Heheheheheheheheheheheheh!" Knuckles exclaimed in amusement with a huge smile and with closed eyes while he laughed a lot with Kathy as he held her with one arm.
"Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe! Yeah! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I guess we are! Hehehehehehehehehehehe! We might botch the fourth plan without even trying! Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" Kathy exclaimed in amusement too with a huge smile and with closed eyes as she laughed a lot too while holding Knuckles with one arm.
"The saddest thing is that you're not wrong there! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I know my own luck! Hahahahahahahahahahaha! And it's not in the favorable kind! Ahahahahahahahahahahahah!" Knuckles exclaimed in amusement with a huge smile and with amused eyes as he stared at Kathy while laughing hard in mirth.
"Hehehehehehehehehe! Well, duh! That's because you're a troublemaker, Troublemaker! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Of course, your luck isn't going to be good! Because you cause trouble wherever you go! Hehehehehehehehehe!" Kathy exclaimed back in amusement with a huge smile and with amused eyes as she stared at Knuckles too while laughing a lot in mirth.
"I'd believe it! Heheheheheheheheheheh! After what happened to me just now! Hahahahahahahahahaha! My terrible luck really screws me over sometimes! Heheheheheheheheh!" Knuckles exclaimed back with a huge smile and with amused eyes as he stared at Kathy while chuckling a lot now.
"Yeah! Hehehehehehehehe! This is why you have your guardian angel looking after you just in case you do get screwed over! Hehehehehehehehe!" Kathy exclaimed back in amusement with a huge smile and with twinkling eyes as she stared at Knuckles while giggling a lot now.
"Heheheheheheh! Yeah...My guardian angel...My Angel..." Knuckles replied calmly yet fondly with a huge, warm smile and with half-lidded eyes as he stared caringly at Kathy while chuckling a little in amusement and while gently rubbing her left arm. Kathy soon stopped giggling and stared fondly at Knuckles with a warm look on her face as she enjoyed him rubbing her arm. Knuckles smiled fondly at Kathy as he's happy that he's holding her again and rubbing her arm affectionately again. They both felt relaxed again after releasing all that nervous energy in the form of laughter. Yet again, their warm moment was interrupted again with the Anguirus monsters roaring in the distance.
EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGGHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHH!
Kathy and Knuckles had sobered up again and had looked behind themselves with solemn frowns on their faces. They can see that the Anguirus monsters had stopped bouncing and were just rampaging through the streets again while whacking their tails at some buildings and wrecking them.
Kathy then commanded her Sol Gems to make the shield disappear before saying calmly with a solemn frown, "Well...Usually it's 'third times the charm', but it's possible that the fourth time also hits the mark too".
"Yeah...Let's make this one count. Are you ready, Kathy?" Knuckles replied calmly with a solemn frown and with determined eyes as he briefly stared at the monsters before staring at Kathy.
Kathy looked at Knuckles and smiled warmly at him while replying calmly, "I'm always ready when I'm with you, Knuckles. Let's finish this together".
Knuckles smiled warmly back at Kathy as he replied calmly, "Yes, let's".
Kathy and Knuckles both helped each other get back up while holding onto each other's shoulders. After Kathy saw that Knuckles had stood back up, she lets go of him and turned her back at him to encourage him to grab onto her again. Knuckles happily obliged as he turned around and grabbed onto Kathy again. She quickly flew back up and stared at the Anguirus monsters in the distance. She can see tons of crumbled buildings as the monsters continued their rampage downtown. She frowned solemnly at them before she flew fast towards them as she and Knuckles tried to attack them again.
There's no way that we're letting them get away with it this time! Let's end this right now! Kathy thought in determination with a solemn frown and with serious eyes as she flew towards the Anguirus monsters.

"Let's end this right now," Shadow muttered calmly with a solemn frown and with a glare as he stood to the side defiantly while he waited for the rolling Anguirus monsters to get close to him. The huge, spiky balls rolled towards Shadow very fast until one of them started bouncing on the ground. Shadow raised an eyebrow as he focused on the bouncing, spiky ball in particular.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
The ground shook and rumbled a bit as the Anguirus monster bounced hard onto it. But after he had made his last and highest bounce into the air, he uncurled himself mid-air before he dove down onto Shadow while spinning his tail around.
EEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHH!
The Anguirus monster roared furiously as he attacked Shadow with his tail. However, Shadow dodged the attack by jumping backwards while hopping onto the ground with one hand. The monster's tail attack had missed and had struck the ground hard instead.
SLAM!
After the monster had landed, he fiercely glared at Shadow before he viciously swung his large tail at him while stomping forward towards him. Shadow dodged these attacks as he kept jumping backwards. He even had to dodge the monster biting him at times as he lunged his head forward at him and chomped quickly. The monster destroyed more buildings as he kept whacking his tail at Shadow but kept missing him each time and thwacked the buildings instead.
SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!

Tons of rubble fell towards the ground as nearby buildings were wrecked by the monster. Shadow frowned deeply as he jumped a few more feet backwards before he threw Chaos Spears at the Anguirus monster.
"Chaos Spear!" Shadow yelled again in determination with a solemn frown and with furrowed eyebrows as he threw many Chaos Spears at the monster's head and body. The monster roared in pain as sparks and explosions came off from his body and head while jerking back from Shadow.
KAABOOOOM! BOOOOOM! KAABOOOOOM! KAAABOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM!
EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
Shadow kept firing his Chaos Spears at the Anguirus monster, and the monster staggered backwards while cringing a lot in pain as he tried to get away from the attack fire. The monster roared again in pain as he accidentally sat down due to being distracted by the painful attacks of Shadow's Chaos Spears.
EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHH!
Shadow was about to throw another round of Chaos Spears at the Anguirus monster until he was suddenly surprised by the other Angurius monster rolling behind his comrade and had rolled up against him as if he was a ramp. The other monster flew briefly into the air as a spiky ball and had flown over Shadow before he had uncurled himself and turned around as he made a cool landing. The monster skidded backwards after he had landed back down to the ground. Once he had stopped, he roared angrily at Shadow as he was prepared to aid his comrade.
EEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHH!
Hmph. Another one, huh? Fair enough. Shadow thought calmly with a solemn frown and with a glare as he looked behind himself to see the other Anguirus monster. He looked back at the Anguirus monster in front of him after hearing him roar in anger too.
EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
Shadow saw the monster standing back up while skidding the pavement with two of his four feet like a bull would do. He raised an eyebrow at that and looked behind himself to see if the other monster is doing that too. He was correct in assuming that since the other Anguirus monster was skidding the pavement with his feet too. Shadow prepared himself for whatever attack the two Anguirus monsters were planning to do together. He waited patiently for the two of them to attack. It was somewhat eerily quiet aside from the occasional grunts the two monsters would make while they glared fiercely at Shadow.

Eventually, the two monsters simultaneously charged forward at Shadow while ramming their heads as they attempted to attack him by head-butting. The ground rumbled a lot as the two monsters charged at Shadow like bulls.
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
After Shadow quickly looked at the two monsters to see that they're heading towards him, he then quickly got into his Spinball Form and spun upwards to dodge the monsters' attack. The monsters hadn't stopped charging and had bashed each other's heads instead. They roared in pain while hobbling backwards from each other.
EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHH! EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
After Shadow briefly got out of his Spinball Form, he stared down at the two monsters while flying a bit in mid-air. He saw that the two monsters left themselves to be vulnerable after ramming each other, so, he took the opportunity to attack them ruthlessly with Spinball move. He flew back down in his Spinball Form and attacked the two monsters in their faces and under their chins. While looking fierce, he slammed hard into the monster's cheeks and even kicked them hard too at times. The Anguirus monsters roared and cringed in pain of these sudden, fast attacks that Shadow had done.
EEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
Shadow then spun under each of the monsters' stomachs and rammed hard into them. This powerful attack had caused the two monsters to fall backwards onto their backs. The two monsters roared in pain simultaneously to that fast attack.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
The Anguirus monsters flailed their legs around after falling onto their backs. Shadow had briefly landed between the two monsters and grimaced at the two before he yet again ruthlessly attacked them with his Spinball move. He slammed hard onto the monsters' stomachs and bounced off of them since he was in his Spinball Form. More roars of pain ensued as the monsters struggled to get up but couldn't.
SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!
EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUGGGHH!
After slamming onto the monsters' stomachs for a bit, Shadow landed back onto the ground as he stood in between the two Anguirus monsters. As he saw that the monsters were still struggling to get up, he took the chance to finish them both by using another Chaos Blast. He gritted his teeth and furrowed his eyebrows as he crossed his arms over his face again and charged up his fiery blast. His body glowed red again, and once he was charged up, he released his arms again as he unleashed his powerful attack.
"Chaos Blast!" Shadow yelled out in determination with a grimace and with furrowed eyebrows as his arms stretched outward while a fiery explosion erupted from him.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
The two Anguirus monsters roared simultaneously in pain as they were engulfed in flames. The fire burned them to the point that they had exploded into dark particles.

The dark particles blended in with the flames as if they were ash. Shadow stared at the two large flames with a solemn frown on his face. He could see that he had destroyed all of the six Anguirus monsters. He noticed the damage that the monsters and himself had caused due to that fight, but he shrugged it off as it was as he had expected.
"Again...I had meant to do that," Shadow muttered to himself with a solemn frown and with furrowed eyebrows as he stared at the flames around him.
EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGHH!
"Hmm?" Shadow mused curiously in confusion as he looked a bit towards his right while hearing more monster roars in the northeastern direction.
EEEEEEUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGHH!
...So there's more, huh? No problem. I'll settle this myself. Shadow thought calmly with a solemn frown and with a glare as he stared at the northeastern section of the city. After pondering that thought, he dashed and jumped through the city to get to the northeastern district himself.
[Meanwhile With Kathy And Knuckles]
Kathy had managed to fly behind the two rampaging monsters as they were charging through the city like bulls now. She frowned since she still has no idea on what's the safest method into beating the Anguirus monsters.
"There's got to be a way to get a hit on them. But the question is how?" Kathy muttered calmly with a frown as she stared down at the Anguirus monsters.
"You know, it may just be an afterthought, but why don't we try punching them while flying together?" Knuckles suggested calmly with a little frown and with solemn eyes as he stared at Kathy.
"Ah! Of course! Why didn't I think of that before?! That's the safest method into fighting these guys! Thanks, Knuckles! I think that we got them now!" Kathy exclaimed brightly with a shocked look on her face before it changed into a jovial one as she beamed at Knuckles.
Knuckles smiled gently at Kathy as he calmly replied, "It's about time. Also, you're welcome, Kathy. I'm always happy to help...".
He then smirked a bit as he mischievously added while having a fist up, "...Heh...Like so...".
Kathy grinned at Knuckles as she cheerfully exclaimed while having a fist up too, "Like so! Alright! Here we go! Let's knock these suckers down and put them out of their misery!".
"Yeah! Let's take them out!" Knuckles exclaimed excitedly with a grin and with amused eyes as he stared at Kathy before holding onto her tightly again as she flew downwards very quickly. As Kathy avoided the large, swinging tail, she flew under one of the Anguirus monsters as she was ready to punch into the monster's stomach very hard alongside Knuckles.
"Rrrrrrrr! Haaaaaaaa!" Kathy and Knuckles screamed out in determination with solemn looks on their faces as they both threw hard punches at the monster's stomach simultaneously.

The Anguirus monster roared in pain as he felt large jolt underneath his stomach, and this had caused him to trip over himself and fall on his back. The other Anguirus monster skidded to a stop and looked at his comrade in confusion. Kathy kept flying up and down towards the fallen Anguirus monster as she and Knuckles punched him a lot in the stomach.
POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW!
EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH! EEEEEEUUUUUUUUUGGGHH!
The Anguirus monster roared even more in agony as Kathy and Knuckles ruthlessly punched his stomach while they flew up and down. The other Anguirus monster roared furiously at them since he's angry that they are hurting his comrade.

Kathy soon landed on top of the fallen Anguirus monster's stomach as she and Knuckles stared at the other Anguirus monster with amused smiles on their faces.
They soon looked at each other while smiling a lot in amusement as Knuckles playfully commented, "I think he's angry".
"Well, tough luck for him. He's going to be in a lot of pain soon too," Kathy replied calmly yet playfully with an amused smile as she stared at Knuckles with her hands onto her hips. Knuckles chuckled at this as he's happy that his sense of humor and Kathy's sense of humor are on the same wavelength. Kathy smiled a lot in amusement as she saw that she had made Knuckles laugh again. She then looked mischievous as an idea came to her mind while she was busy entertaining Knuckles.
"Heh...You know what? ...I think that I figured out how to really hurt these guys. I guess that since they're not rolling or bouncing now it's easier for me to attack them like this," Kathy muttered calmly with a mischievous smile and with a lowered eyebrow as she looked back at the other Anguirus monster with some fingers under her chin.
"Heheheheh...Oh? You think so? What attack are you thinking on using then?" Knuckles asked calmly yet curiously with a little smile and with a chuckle as he stared at Kathy with intrigue on his face.
Kathy smirked as she quickly thrusts her fists out towards the other Angurius monster as she exclaimed brightly, "This attack!".
She then commanded her Sol Gems to summon huge thorn-bushes out from the ground below the standing Angurius monster. The gems and the ground glowed bright green until suddenly tons of huge thorn-bushes sprouted up underneath the Anguirus monster. The prickly, spiky thorns pierced through the monster's feet and stomach which caused him to roar a lot in agony.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH! EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
Knuckles looked surprised when he saw that move again. Except this time, the attack was very effective since the monster started spewing dark particles from his body.
"Woah..." Knuckles muttered calmly in awe with a stunned look on his face as he stared at the monster.
"Painful, isn't it? But let's make his death painless," Kathy muttered calmly with a mischievous smile and with amused eyes as she stared at the monster as well. The Anguirus monster was in the middle of roaring as Kathy summoned another thorn-bush to sprout up underneath his neck.
EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUU-!
The thorns pierced through the monster's neck which caused a lot of dark particles to be gushed out. However, the attack was too great since the monster exploded into dark particles after sustaining tons of damage onto his body.
POOF!
The monster disappeared after that, leaving behind tons of dark particles. Kathy smiled proudly at that since she had finally made good use out of that attack. Knuckles was still surprised that Kathy had defeated that monster by using her thorn-bush attack.
"W-Wow...That was just incredible. I know that I saw you trying to do that attack earlier, but I didn't think that it would be effective or anything. However, it looks like I've been stand-corrected. Just...how did you do that?" Knuckles muttered calmly in awe as he looked at Kathy with a stunned look on his face.
Kathy looked back at Knuckles with a smirk and with a wink as she pointed to her head while answering calmly yet playfully, "You know...Imagination...".
Knuckles looked stunned for a few more seconds before he looked slightly annoyed as he asked calmly, "You can't be serious, right?".
"Okay. Fine. I meant 'telepathy', Knuckles. It's all connected through simple, mental communication," Kathy answered calmly with a teasing grin and with a shrug as she stared back at Knuckles.
"Somehow...I doubt that it is that simple. But I'm not going to question it further. I...don't want to get a headache from the technical explanation of telepathy and how the Sol Gems work from that," Knuckles replied calmly with a sheepish frown and with upward eyebrows as he stared back at Kathy with a sweat drop on his head.
"Eh. Fair enough," Kathy replied calmly with a little smile and with another shrug as she stared back at Knuckles. The Anguirus monster below Kathy and Knuckles roared again while struggling to get back up.

"Aw, shut up," Kathy replied calmly with a playful smile and with amused eyes as she looked back at the fallen Anguirus monster.
Knuckles smiled in amusement as he looked at the monster too as he playfully added, "Yeah, shut up or we'll make you shut up".
EEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
The Anguirus monster roared angrily at that while thrashing his legs around as he desperately tried to get up. Kathy and Knuckles grinned a lot in amusement of that as they looked back at each other.
"Well, I guess we will make him shut up then," Knuckles commented playfully with a grin and with amused eyes as he stared at Kathy.
"Yeah! Hehehehe! Let's show him how to stay quiet!" Kathy exclaimed jovially with a grin and with a giggle as she stared back at Knuckles.
"With pleasure!" Knuckles exclaimed back with an excited grin and with mischievous eyes as he quickly got off of Kathy and walked a bit downwards so that he could attack the lower part of the monster's stomach. Kathy turned away from Knuckles and stared at the top of part of the stomach. As the two stood together with their backs turned, they prepared themselves to give the monster the wallop of a lifetime.

After the brief pause, Kathy and Knuckles then threw punches down onto the monster's stomach while having solemn looks on their faces.
POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW!
EEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHH! EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
The poor Anguirus monster roared in pain as his stomach was being pummeled with hard punches. Knuckles grunted a bit while he kept punching hard and fast while Kathy just gritted her teeth and furrowed her eyebrows as she concentrated on punching the monster with her Sol Gems.
POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW! POW!
EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHH! EEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHHH!
The Anguirus monster still roared out in pain while thrashing his legs about.
"Grrrr! Ngh! Rrrrrugh! Argh! Why! Won't! This! Monster! Die?! Hurrrgh! Arrrgh! Hah!" Knuckles yelled through gritted teeth while he growled and grunted a lot as he kept punching a lot.
"Maybe...This one's...The leader!" Kathy yelled out while gritting her teeth too as she kept punching the monster's stomach too.
"'The leader', huh?! Nggh! Grrrruuugh! Guess we'll have to make him suffer a lot more then to get rid of him!" Knuckles yelled back with a deep frown and with furrowed eyebrows as he glanced at Kathy while grunting a bit and while punching a lot.
"You are certainly right, Knuckles! And I know just the thing!" Kathy exclaimed back with a confident grin as she looked back at Knuckles while she stopped punching the monster's stomach.
Knuckles smirked mischievously while glancing at Kathy as he asked calmly yet coyly, "Would it be using the Sol Heart's powers again?".
"Exactly! I'll make this monster feel the pain the only way that nature does things! By pricking at you!" Kathy exclaimed brightly with a grin and with a wink as she gave Knuckles a thumbs-up.
"That sounds like something Sonic would do rather than nature. But sure, go ahead, Kathy. It's all yours. I'll just finish punching my side of the monster myself," Knuckles replied calmly with a smug smile and with lowered eyelids as he stared at Kathy.
"Okay! I'll do that then! Leave it to me!" Kathy exclaimed cheerfully with a huge grin and with amused eyes as she held her fist up while nodding a little to Knuckles.
"Hmph. Have fun, Kathy," Knuckles replied calmly with a smug smile and with lowered eyelids as he stared at Kathy before he turned around and continued punching the monster's stomach. Kathy looked back at the monster and thrusted her fists outward as she commanded her Sol Gems to grow thorn-bushes out from them. Her gems glowed bright green again, and this time, the thorn-bushes grew out from the gems themselves. The thorn-bushes pierced through the monster's stomach and chest and caused great pain onto the monster himself.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!
The Anguirus monster roared again in pain after feeling the prickly thorn-bushes go through his body. Kathy looked even more mischievous as she raised her right fist upwards towards the monster's neck and shot another thorn-bush at it.
EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUU-!
The monster's roar had been cut short too as his neck got pierced through by the thorn-bush. These strong attacks made the monster gush out a lot of dark particles. Even Knuckles' hard punches had eventually pierced through the monster's thick skin and had made dark particles ooze out from the body. These powerful attacks were too much for the monster to bear, and so, he exploded into dark particles.
POOF!
"A-Ah!" Knuckles exclaimed in surprise with a slightly alarmed look on his face as he felt his punch go right through the monster. He and Kathy fell back down to the ground and landed on their feet. Kathy smiled calmly as she commanded her Sol Gems to make all of the thorn-bushes disappear. While Kathy did that, Knuckles turned around and saw all of the thorn-bushes that Kathy had made with her Sol Gems.
Hard to believe that all of this was done through those tiny gems...Hmmm...I wonder if I'll ever get used to that...Knuckles pondered curiously with a little frown on his stunned face as he watched the thorn-bushes disappear. Soon, Kathy had gotten rid of the thorn-bushes and looked back at Knuckles with a bright smile.
"Well, would you look at that! We had finally beaten those stupid monsters! And it took us only four tries! I guess that the number four is our lucky number!" Kathy exclaimed cheerfully with a bright smile and with a wink as she shrugged at Knuckles.
"Heh...Yeah...I guess so," Knuckles replied calmly with a little smile and with a lowered eyebrow as he stared back at Kathy.
"Still, I wonder if there are more Anguirus monsters left? And for that matter, where is Battra? I wonder where he's hiding in this little city?" Kathy asked curiously with a little frown on her confused face as she stared back at Knuckles while having her fingers under her chin. Knuckles was about to reply, but he was soon interrupted by a familiar voice.
"I'll tell you where he is...He's right above you," a gruff, ominous voice muttered darkly from above.
"...! Battra!" Kathy and Knuckles gasped and exclaimed in shock as they both looked up with surprised looks on their faces. They can see Battra flying above them while having his arms crossed and while having a mischievous smirk on his face.
"Are you two having fun playing with my Anguirus monsters? They are quite the feisty bunch, aren't they?" Battra muttered calmly yet deviously with a mischievous smirk as he stared down at Kathy and Knuckles. Kathy and Knuckles looked a bit shocked at first until they sobered up and looked fierce instead.
"What are you even doing here, Battra?! Causing mischief as usual?!" Kathy exclaimed back with a grimace and with furrowed eyebrows as she had her fists at her sides while glaring at Battra.
"Or you here for the Sol Hearts?! If so, then just give up! Cause we refuse to give them to you!" Knuckles added solemnly with a grimace and with furrowed eyebrows as he had his fists ready.
"Well, funny that you mention that..." Battra replied calmly with a little smile and with closed eyes before he opened them again and looked annoyed while he glared hard at Kathy as he continued irritably, "...Because I've been searching for one all day...And curse my luck, the one heart that I've been tracking down all this time was...that heart...".
"Huh? ...You mean...This heart?" Kathy asked calmly yet curiously in confusion with a little frown and with a raised eyebrow as she lifted her green Sol Heart for emphasis.
"Yes! Exactly! That stupid green heart! Every time I go to a place when I have some hint of a Sol Heart to be there, it just vanishes like a puff of smoke! Turns out...the multiple disappearances keep happening because you guys were constantly on the move! In other words, I've been tracking you guys this whole time!" Battra yelled back in irritation with gritted teeth and with furrowed eyebrows as he uncrossed his arms and pointed at Kathy's Sol Heart. Kathy and Knuckles looked surprised at that and looked at each other in confusion. They had no idea that they were being followed while they were adventuring together and spending quality time together. But hearing that Battra had chased after them for nothing is the most amusing thing ever. They both grinned a lot in amusement as they stared at each other before at Battra as they had teasing looks on their faces.
"So, what you're saying is...you've wasted your whole day looking for us," Kathy replied teasingly with a mischievous grin and with amused eyes as she stared up at Battra.
"Yes! And that's why I'm so ticked off that the Sol Heart I'd find is the very same one that I've lost yesterday! It's like rubbing salt in the wound!" Battra yelled back in fury with gritted teeth and with a vein bulging in his head as he had his fists down at his sides.
"Yeah, and because of that, you decided to be a baby about it and let your monsters rampage across the city just so that you could feel better about yourself. Sounds rather pathetic if you ask me," Knuckles replied teasingly with a smug grin and with mischievous eyes as he stared up at Battra while having his arms crossed. Kathy looked at Knuckles and giggled a lot at that amusing quip, and Knuckles looked back at Kathy in amusement with a huge grin as he's happy that he had made her giggle.
"Hehehehehehehehehehe! Yeah! Like a BIG baby! Hehehehehehehehehe!" Kathy exclaimed jovially with a sweet smile and with amused eyes as she stared at Knuckles while giggling a lot. Knuckles joined her by chuckling a lot in amusement. Battra felt that his vein had popped as he glared coldly at his two enemies. He growled a lot in irritation as he hated being mocked and seen as pathetic.
So, he yelled out in frustration with a grimace and with a fist up, "Will you two stop laughing at me?! If you two are smart, then you should give me the Sol Heart now before I pummel you guys into the ground!".
"Hehehehehehe! Maybe we would give you the heart if you weren't being such a baby all the time. You're so demanding all the time! Seriously! Do we really need to parent you on to how to behave like a good little boy? Because we certainly will if you keep acting like that," Kathy replied calmly yet teasingly with a smirk and with a giggle as she crossed her arms too while looking at Battra and pointing at him.
"You will do what?!" Battra yelled back in shock and in disgust as he jerked back while looking revolted.
"Heheheheheheh! Oh, you heard her right, Battra. If anyone is going to teach manners on how to be a good boy, then it shall be me. I'm going to act as the father here and 'correct' you on your bad behavior. Get the picture?" Knuckles replied calmly yet teasingly with a smirk and with a chuckle as he stared at Battra while punching his open palm with his fist. Battra looked appalled by what they were implying and shook his head in frustration and in disgust.
"Uggggh! You will do no such thing! I am a fully grown adult! You kids can't tell me what to do! And I'll prove to you by punishing you two instead!" Battra yelled back in frustration with a grimace and with furrowed eyebrows as he glared hard at Kathy and Knuckles while pointing at them.
"How? By throwing another tantrum again?" Knuckles teased playfully with a mischievous smirk and with a lowered eyelid as he stared up at Battra while having his arms crossed again.
"Nah. He's going to break down and cry in front of us instead," Kathy replied teasingly with a mischievous smirk and with lowered eyelids as she stared up at Battra while having her arms crossed too. Kathy and Knuckles chuckled together in amusement after teasing Battra a little. Battra grimaced deeper and pulled onto his yellow horns in frustration before he quickly took out his Dark Sol Gems as he prepared himself to fight Kathy and Knuckles.
"That tears it! I'm going to fight you two and teach you two how to respect authority figures such as myself!" Battra yelled back in frustration with barred teeth and with furrowed eyebrows as he glared hard at the two teens while having his fists up.
"You? An 'authority figure'? I beg to differ," a lone, monotone voice said calmly in the distance.
"What?! How dares to defy me?! The next King of the Monsters?!" Battra yelled out in fury as he looked at his right to see who had spoken up. Kathy and Knuckles stopped chuckling and looked at their left to see who had spoken too.

"That would be me," Shadow answered calmly in a monotone voice with a solemn frown as he slowly walked out from the dark alleyway and stood on the sidewalk while staring up at Battra. Knuckles gasped in surprise when Shadow showed up while Kathy stared at Shadow in confusion.
Okay...Now who is THIS hedgehog? If I'd known better, I'd say that he's one of Battra's original monsters, but since he's calling him out like this...it seems that he's not one of them...Kathy pondered curiously in confusion with a sheepish frown on her face as she put her arms down in front of herself while sweating a lot.
"Who...are...you?" Battra asked slowly yet menacingly as he gave Shadow a warning look.
"I am Shadow the Hedgehog. Highest ranking Neo G.U.N. agent and the Ultimate Lifeform," Shadow answered promptly yet solemnly with a deep frown and with furrowed eyebrows as he had his arms crossed while glaring up at Battra.
"'Ultimate Lifeform', huh? Hmph. Very well then...Mr. Ultimate...Dare I ask why you are here though? Are you here...to go after this young girl?" Battra replied calmly yet deviously with a mischievous smirk and with menacing eyes as he stared back at Shadow with fingers under his chin while glancing at Kathy.
"The girl is not my target," Shadow answered curtly with a solemn frown and with determined eyes as he kept staring at Battra with crossed arms while not looking at Kathy. Knuckles and Kathy looked surprised at that response.
Wait! He's not here for Kathy?! Knuckles thought in shock as he stared at Shadow with wide eyes and with a gaped mouth.
He's not here for me?! Kathy thought in shock and in confusion as she stared at Shadow with a surprised look on her face.
"Oh? So, who is your target then?" Battra asked calmly yet darkly with a frown and with narrowed eyes as he glared at Shadow. Shadow glared back at Battra in cold silence.
...
But soon enough, he answered coldly with a solemn frown while pointing at Battra accusingly, "My target...is you, Battra the Moth. I'm here to kill you".
"...!" Kathy gasped in shock as she clasped her hands together and put them over her mouth while looking alarmed. Even Knuckles was taken aback by this answer. However, the one person who isn't fazed by this is Battra himself as he smirked evilly at Shadow.
"Hmm...This is rather interesting...Very interesting indeed..." Battra muttered calmly yet darkly with an evil smirk and with determined eyes as he faced Shadow fully while gripping onto his Dark Sol Gems.
It seems that the tension had reached the boiling point and is about to break as Shadow and Battra prepare themselves to fight. Kathy and Knuckles could only stand and watch both in shock and in confusion of this surprising situation. No one knows what to make of this situation other than the fact that...it's about to turn violent.
Very violent indeed...

And with that, there is only one part left aside from the epilogue of this episode. All I can say regarding this chapter is...an attempt was made. At least, I made Shadow's fight with the Anguirus monsters to be cool while Kathy and Knuckles' fight with them a little bit on the humorous side. I also gave Kathy and Knuckles some cute, sweet moments just to break the tension a little but not too much. Overall, I think that I did alright despite still being shoddy.
