Meanwhile in the United States of America, in the state of Colorado, a town by the name of Middleton lived two best friends Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable. They've known each other since their first day of pre-school. Ever since then, both friends have been inseparable. They've been both together throughout their years of pre, junior and middle school. And what makes it better, that they live right next door to each other. Two years ago, Kim created her own website, originally to help people out, like baby sitting and other jobs to do around her town and she got a notification about someone needing help. It was an accidentally signal who was originally supposed to be sent to Team Impossible, but under the dire circumstances and panic rushed through their heads, contacted her website instead. It was helping out a guy and his associate, who accidently set off laser grid in his mansion in Upperton, to protect his Cuddle Buddy collection and Kim and Ron helped saved them. Ever since that day, they have teamed up to form 'Team Possible' a world-famous team that takedown villains big or small, no matter how dangerous as Kim's motto is 'I can do anything' reflects how far she is willing to fight to save her town, the world from doomsday devices or sinister plots to conquer the world. Ron her best friend and his pet Rufus, who tags along on missions with them, is kind of a clumsy and immature teen but helps Kim by causing the distractions and saving the day. He is considered more as a sidekick rather than a partner. And their main engine room guy called Wade, who assists Kim and Ron when they need help during a mission, all just from the comfort of his room and computer system. He is a young kid and has already graduated from high school and college within less than year. He is an extremely intelligent guy and can access anything that will contribute Team Possible during their missions and is an inventor too.
As we close into a suburban neighbourhood, we see Kim and Ron in the Ron's backyard, up inside his treehouse. Let's check-in and see what our best friend-slash-fighting duo are up to.
'BURRRRRRRRRPPPPP'
"Ron! Don't be such a pig." Kim says to Ron in disgust, as she waffs the air around her to avoid the smell of the loud burp.
"Relax KP. No one can hear me. Unless Wade switched on his Soundhawk bionic hearing device."
"No one can hear you, but me and don't do that again, it gross please and thank you." Kim says annoyed, before getting back to here magazine.
After that Ron get's back to his Nintendo Switch game as Rufus sleep beside him on the couch. Minutes of silence, Kim decides to break the silence.
"So Ron you excited to become Freshman in a few weeks!" Kim says putting down a magazine.
Ron lifts his head from his Nintendo Switch and rolls his eyes, producing a small sigh.
"KP you know how I feel about school. Another year of Bonnie tormenting us, annoying us, calling me names, and don't get me started on schoolwork and homework. I just want to enjoy the last week of Summer break before heading back to another school year. At least she won't call you 'Tin Teeth' again."
Kim runs her tongue over her teeth in response to that annoying nickname ever since she had braces, "Yeah, but she will always try other ways to bring me down, after all, we've been bitter rivals since Pre-K. But I'm not afraid of what she throws at me."
Ron perked up to brighten the mood and grabs his can of soda and takes a swig of it, "I'll drink to that. Hey! I heard that there is going to be a great teacher in high school. His name is Mr Barkin, I'm going to try my best to make a good impression on him. The Ron-man will give him 'The Face'." Ron points both of his fingers to his face.
"The Face?" Kim asked confused at this term.
"'The Face'" Ron repeated in a playful tone still pointing.
"The Face?" Kim asked once again, slowly losing her patience.
"'The Face'" Ron repeated once again in a playful tone, but a bit slower this time around still pointing.
Kim finally lost her patience and got agitated, sternly saying, "RON!"
Ron was startled by this random outburst "What?" Kim sighed and regained her composure "What is 'The Face' you plan on putting on when you meet Mr Barkin." Emphasising the words 'The Face'.
"Oh, I'm glad you asked KP, this is the face." Ron made the face. Suddenly Kim burst into laughter as soon as he pulled the face he was going to use when High School started. Ron gave a confused look before he realised, she was laughing at 'The Face' he was using. "What, you don't like it?"
Kim gave a small chuckle "I think if you did that face, he'd probably think you're giving him a funny look. You don't want to do that on the first day of school. He'd hate you from day 1 until the end of high school."
"(Pfff) Relax KP, I mean what's the worst that can happen." Ron reassures his best friend.
"If you say so. Ron-man." Kim said giggling and teasing at his silly nickname.
Kim's phone vibrated in her pocket, she pulled it out to see what the notification was about.
"Oh, my mum just texted that dinner will be ready in a few minutes. You coming past?"
Ron rubs his chin thinking about getting some extra snackage. "Tempting but nah, I'm going to try and convince my parents if I can get Bueno Nacho for dinner tonight."
"Again?" Kim says, lifting her eyebrow up.
"Hey, you try having dinner after eating a bag full of marshmallows."
"Oh well, have a good night Ron. See you tomorrow." Kim says, shrugging her shoulders and stands up from the couch.
"You too KP." Ron replies back as he slouches back on his couch get back to his game.
Kim climbs down for the treehouse as Ron continues to lazily longue on his couch.
After half an hour of trying to complete a level from his game up in the treehouse, Ron finally defeats the level, giving a small fist pump into the air celebrating. He decides to get up and stretch for a few seconds, before climbing down the stairs and going inside to see his parents. Upon entering the house Ron starts calling his parents' name.
"Mum! Dad!" Ron starts calling his parents, pondering where they could be. He walks into the living room to see them both sitting on the family couch.
"Hey sweetie, have a seat. We have some good news for you." Mrs Stoppable announces to her son. Ron smiles and then takes a seat on the couch. "Firstly, you can get anything you want for dinner tonight."
"Booyah!" Ron says his signature catchphrase, celebrating excitedly that he can get Bueno Nacho without even asking.
"And secondly we're moving out of Middleton" Mrs Stoppable continues to announce the news to her son.
"Boo!.. huh, wait a minute... WHAT!" Ron shouts in complete shock and confusion.
"I know this comes at a shock to you Ron, but we actually intended to have a sale sign at the front of the house to tell you we were moving. But your father and I thought it would be better to tell you in person instead." Mrs Stoppable says.
"Besides son, I just got this great new job opportunity. It will give us more time to spend together as a family" Mr Stoppable adds in
"But Dad, you're an actuary, I thought you can work anywhere?" Ron rebuttals to his father.
"That's true son, but the firm that offered me the job is offering more than double the salary anywhere in America."
"It will be an adventure!" Mrs. Stoppable added excitedly.
"Wait. More than an American salary? an adventure? Where is this job located exactly?" Ron asked curiously.
"England" Both Mr and Mrs Stoppable answered in unison
"England!" Ron shouted
"Yes. England. Where we can drink tea, watch the cricket and see Michael Caine." Mr Stoppable said.
"What about Middleton? What about my best friend Kim?" Ron says.
"You can always make new best friends. Besides you can call Kim every day." Mrs. Stoppable answers.
Ron is absolutely flabbergasted at this bombshell his parents just dropped a week from the new school year. Despite not being a big fan of school, he only enjoyed it, due to spending most of the time with his long-time best friend Kim Possible. When they were both younger, they would always hang out with each other. Ron's only closest friend was Kim, while Kim's only closest friend was Ron. She was considered more popular than Ron, ever since she become a cheerleader in middle school. She would talk with the cheer squad from time to time, she wouldn't hang out with them that much. Especially since she despises one person from the squad. And that girl was Bonnie Rockwaller, who did everything in her power to make Kim perform an extremely diffuicult routine for her to complete, so Kim would embarrass herself and not make the cheerleading squad. She barley got in, according to Bonnie, but others thought it was amazing. Kim and her have been rivals since pre-school and it looked like they weren't going to be friends any time soon. Plus she always made fun of Ron since then too. Calling him a loser, whenever the opportunity was there. As for Ron, leaving America would be the hardest thing to do. Missing his best friend and considering that his isn't high on the food chain, it will be even harder making friends. Especially for a new kid to move across the continent and be new in town, makes any kid hard to make friends. Ron simply sighs in defeat, simply having to face the facts. He couldn't shot down his parent's ambitions. Despite what has happened in the past. He was thinking of one positives. Which was their so called 'team'.
"Well, at least I can still go on missions with Kim, but it will be much harder to reach them from England." Ron says thinking out-loud.
Hearing this both made Mr and Mrs Stoppable looked at each other sheepishly and with a shade of guilt. Ron failed to notice this as he was still staring at the floor, but his parents thought it was best that they would rip off the band aid quickly and tell him now.
"Umm, Ronald. Sweetie. Darling... about that...eh, W-" Mrs Stoppable begins to talk but is interrupted by her husband.
"Your mother and I have decided it's best to step away from taking missions with Kim. We think it's the best for your wellbeing and give this opportunity to study more in the upcoming years." Mr Stoppable says the first part quickly before speaking normally again.
"What! I can't even go on missions with my best friend!" Ron exclaimed and he started to panic.
"Ron. Honey it won't be that b-" Mrs Stoppable said but was interrupted
"No mum! This is wrong. Th-th-this is just sick and wrong! It's wrong-sick! (Panting) Impure! Impure! This is impure!" Ron panics even more whilst pointing at his parents while saying the word 'impure'.
"Ronald calm down, you're overreacting." Mr Stoppable saying trying to defuse the situation.
"Over.. Overreacting! Dad you can't just say to me a week before school starts that 'we are moving'. W-What about Kim? I've known her my whole life! You can't except me to walk away from my life here. I've enjoyed the times I've had here with KP."
"Look Ron, we've already decided as a family. And when I say family, your father and I have decided that this is what's best for the family." Mrs Stoppable says.
"Have you ever considered my opinion? What I wanted!" Ron exclaims.
"Ronald! Stop being so selfish." Mr Stoppable says trying his best not to get angry.
"How am I being selfish? You're the ones being selfish!" Ron points and starts to develop tears in his eyes. "You considered your own needs before your own son!" Ron gets up from the couch and runs towards his room, he trips on the carpet and gets up slowly. He then regains speed while yelling "THIS IS JUST SICK AND WRONG!" while tears coming from his eyes, before a loud slam was heard.
"Did he say Impure? Does he even know what that means?" Mr. Stoppable said to his wife, who gave a slight shrug in response.
Ron had been in his bedroom for the past few hours, laying head first on his bed. His eyes were red from all the crying, which caused a wet patch on his bed sheets and pillow. Rufus his pet was next to him consoling him, patting the side of his head. "It will be okay." He squeaked out.
"No buddy, it won't be okay. What am I supposed to tell KP?" Ron tells his pet. Ron considered Rufus to be family, despite him spending most of his time in Ron's pocket. He requires 20 hours of sleep per day, but can be vital in certain missions from time to time. Ron even still remembers the day he bought Rufus home, from the pet department section at his local Smarty Mart. He wasn't able to get any pet he wanted, due to his father's allergies to animal fur and Rufus was a hairless animal. The next day was Team Possible very first mission and the rest is history. And when he meant the rest is history, he literally meant they were history as a duo.
"No more missions with KP. No more seeing KP! This Tanks! Screw it. This sucks!" Ron thinks.
A double knock on the door interrupts Ron's thoughts "Ron" the door opens a fraction as Ron's mum poked her head through the door to check up her son. "Can I come in?"
Ron gives a mumble and a low tone response "Yeah." Mrs Stoppable enters her son's room, before closing the door. She takes a seat on the edge of Ron's bed and begins talking.
"How are you feeling Ron?" She asks keeping her arms in her lap.
"Sad" Ron mumbles.
Mrs Stoppable looks at her son with guilt. There was no other way to break it to her son. All these years herself and her husband have been letting Ron down since he was a young kid, not being there for him, especially during these important years of his life, both would admit to that. This job opportunity is going to help them become better parents, to spend more time with their son. And it was best that they would tell their son about it, instead of just doing it without him knowing about it later on and hopefully get on the right track on becoming better parents and being there for their son, no matter what.
"Sweetheart, the reason why your father accepted this job is so we have enough money, meaning we can both spend more time together as a family. His hours have been cut back so he can spend more time with you."
Ron is a bit taken back by this; his parents, after all these years are finally going to give more attention to him, after they been negletive for many years. Probably for the first time since he was in Elementary school. But was still hesitant about this, he raises his head and looks towards his mum "What about you mum, what job are you going to have?"
"I'm going to be a stay-at-home mum or see if I can get a part time job locally. Your father is going to get paid more than both of us combined then previously before. Plus he wont be working long hours like he did before. Isn't that great!"
Ron now changes his position and crosses his legs on his bed, "I... guess it is. I'm still going to really miss Kim though" he says in a sad tone.
"I understand you were close with Kim and her family. They've been a better family than we have ever been, I'm not going to lie there. But it's always never too late to show love and affection to our only baby boy. Plus we made a promise. Your father and I have decided to take you alongside with us on trips from now on."
Ron produces a small grin at this before hugging her "You mean that... Thanks mum, I understand. It's going to be hard, but if there's no way around it. I guess there's nothing else I can do. Besides it sounds nice that both you guys are going to be around my life more than before. I'm sorry for yelling at you guys before."
"That's alright Ron, it was in the spur of the moment. I'm sorry too. Also, I think someone else should be in here to apologise. Donald!" Mrs Stoppable yells out, before the door opens completely showing Mr Stoppable who looks a bit upset and guilty walks over towards the bed towards his wife and son. "Hey Sport, I'm sorry I said you were selfish back there in the living room."
"It's okay dad. I should've been more open to your job opportunity" Ron says now feeling guilty about snapping before at his parents.
"No son, its my fault. (Sighs) You see, the accounting firm I'm working at has a branch in London and they are offering me a big opportunity to work there as big promotion and work less hours to handle certain accounts, instead of focusing on whatever assets come my way here at the local office. And well I said yes, so your mother would be a stay-at-home mother or work part time somewhere locally. But most importantly it would give us all an opportunity to spend time as a family. And Ron, I know your going to miss Kim, but hopefully when we have enough capital so we can work less after this, we can eventually move back here to Middleton."
"You really mean that?" Ron smiles and has a hopeful face.
"Yes."
Ron smiles.
"In about 5 years' time." Mr Stoppable says smiling
"Oh" Ron says as his smile turns into a frown.
"Don't worry son, it could be sooner than excepted. But we can always go visit the Legoland in London." Mr Stoppable says to cheer up his son.
"That would be nice. I've been to the two other Legoland's here already so many times." Ron pondering about going to that amusement park in the UK.
"And about Kim, I'm sorry son. Hopefully both of you still can talk to each other over the phone or messaging apps you use." Mr Stoppable says.
"Discord?" Ron says.
"Whatever it is. Also, I hope you can understand that you can't go on anymore missions." Donald says.
"But why? I mean, I can understand we would be hours forward. Or is England behind? I'm not too sure. But point being is that I won't be able to reach the mission in time." Ron questions.
"Well, that's one of the first points I thought about, but we would like for you to focus on studying. It's not that I think it's a bad influence for you, or Kim. In fact it's the opposite. I'm proud for being brave for all those years and help fighting crime. But it's something else. Now I know you can be a bit slack and lazy at times, but you're going to be an adult soon and need some responsibilities" Donald says to his son, he frowns in response. "It's part of growing up, plus one day you're going to have a fami-." His father says before his son heard enough not wanting to go too far with the grown up talk.
"Okay okay. I'm bit too young for this dad. I understand, it's probably for the best. But at least once we come back, can I help Kim on missions then?" Ron asks praying that his parents say yes.
"Of course, you can son." Mr Stoppable says
"Go crazy, but be safe." Mrs Stoppable adds
"Thanks mum and dad. I love you both." Ron says before hugging both of his parents.
"We love you too son." Mrs Stoppable says before her and her husband hug back their son.
"Can I ask you something Ron. Where did you hear the word 'impure'?" Donald asks his son curiously before all of them broke the hug.
"I heard it while watching this ice-skating film. Why?" Ron tilts his head
Both parents looked at each other before both of them started laughing, Ron stares at both of his parents in confusion, he shrugs his shoulders and begins to laugh alongside them.
Ron laughter stops and says out loud "I don't know what we're laughing at" while his parents continue to laugh.
The Next Day
Inside Bueno Nacho (Middleton)
Ron was sitting inside his favourite fast food chain franchise. Bueno Nacho. Store number 582 if you want to be precise. His popular hangout spot. It has been 15 hours since he last been there. Ron and Kim hang out there most of the time. Unless if you're Ron Stoppable that is, he practically lives there. It's merely walking distance from his house and his supposedly new high school. Well, more like thousands of miles very soon. He's remembering the time that this store first opened up. Kim and Ron attended the grand opening of the store. Ron who at the time didn't know how to ride a two-wheel bicycle, her friend Kim generously offered Ron a ride there on her bike when they were just 7 years old. Now its chapter would be closing to an end. For now, at least. Ron had to accept there was nothing else he could do. He had to move to England with his family. He had to start again from scratch. He would miss the town that he grew up in and especially his best friend Kim Possible. Ron was going to be strong and tell Kim about this unexpected news.
Speak of the devil, Kim walks into Bueno Nacho and spots Ron sitting in their favourite booth. She notices that his head was hung low and had a sad expression on his face. Ron looks up and changes his expression quickly "Hey Kim." Tries to put on a fake grin.
"Hey Ron, so what news do you have for me and is everything okay? You seem a bit down today." Kim says while taking a seat inside the booth.
"Well KP, I wouldn't say that, this is particularly good news. You see... Well... (Sighs) I'm moving KP.
Kim stares at Ron for a few seconds before she starts laughing in hysteria, "Very funny Ron. You almost got me there. Now serious Ron, what's the news?"
"Ummmm KP. That was the news." Ron says.
Kim laughed again but after a few seconds Ron pulled out his serious face, meaning he actually wasn't joking "Oh, you're being serious! Wow. Wait? Oh my god! You're leaving!"
Ron nods his head
"I-I mean its not like the end of the world or anything like that. Where are you moving to?" Kim says trying to keep her composure.
"England" Ron says
"...What are we going to do?" Kim speaks up clearly now upset.
"There's nothing we can do Kim, The perfect start to high school has been ruined and looks like Team Possible-Stoppable is over."
"Wait. What do you mean by Team Possible-Stoppable is over?" Kim asks confused.
"I'm saying that its the end of the team. Besides how are we going to make that work from different continents." Ron explains
"Well... hmm. It'll be tricky, but doable."
"But Kim. You don't understand. My parents have told me that I shouldn't be doing missions while I'm in London."
"...What?"
"Yeah, I might have forgot to mention that."
"But we're supposed to be a team until the end."
"I Know. I'm sorry KP. My family thinks it's best that I step away from going on missions for now. And once I come back, my parents said I can go on missions. But I'm sure you're capable of doing missions by yourself." Ron remarks.
Kim was usually a strong person when it came to these sorts of sitches, but she had some tears in her eyes, hearing the news that her friend was leaving town. It was like a band aid that got quickly yanked off without a short countdown. Down deep inside of her, she knew, she was capable of doing anything, it was in her name. 'Anything is possible for a Possible'. But is she capable of completing missions by herself?
"How long will you be gone for?" Kim asks quietly.
"My dad says 5 years or so."
Oh... that's.. not that bad. We can still talk over the phone or Discord."
"It wont be the same..." Ron says lowering his head.
Kim sighed and lowers her head as well. "No. It's not the same, is it?"
"Yeah... You know, I'm going to miss you KP." Ron says in a genuine tone.
"Me too Ron." Kim says disappointed, but an idea pops up in her mind to bring their spirits up, "Say Ron, how about I shout you out Bueno Nacho? Whatever you want it's on me, I insist."
Ron shook his head. "No thanks KP I'm not feeling hungry. I just want to spend these last few days with you if that's alright."
"Of course Ron, whatever you want."
"Thanks KP" he said, then both of them slipped out of the both and began to head for the door, Ron stopped and turned to Kim. "On second thought, I want to order a meal for to go. If that's okay."
"Of course, here's $20." Kim takes out of her pocket and hands to Ron, as he thanks her best friend with a hug, as he approaches the front counter for maybe the last time.
Over the next few days Ron and his parents began to pack up the house and ship their personal belongings to London. While packing up Ron noticed a two things that caught his eye. First off, he noticed his 'Bar Mitzvah' certificate wasn't signed, realising he wasn't a man this entire time. But Rabbi Katz signed it in a matter of hours upon hearing this. Secondly all these photos and memories taken alongside with his best friend, Kim Possible. The day that they met, when they realised that they lived next door to each other this whole time, the first time then when trick or treating, the time they spend during the summer breaks and the great memories they've spent during school together. Ron eyes start to produce some tears before hugging the frame of when Kim and himself were younger.
Ron broke the news to Kim about leaving town a few days ago. Kim didn't take the news lightly, which saddened the red head, but she said hopefully one day, they would reunite in the next few years. It also dubbed the end of the Possible-Stoppable team, Kim said it would be tricky but Ron digressed and said that he wasn't allowed to go while he was overseas. Kim and Ron spent the last few days spending every second together, going on adventures around the town for one last time and enjoying themselves, Kim even called in a few favours to make it an even better send off. Thankfully, Kim had a quiet week in regards to missions. Thus both teens had a great time. Especially since summer break ends in a few days time for Kim as well, she had to make the most of it. School would start next week for Kim, while Ron would start in early September. 1 month after American school start. Lucky Ron. But alas, all great things must come to an end. Ron would be returning within a few years time with his family.
And to assure that Ron's family does return. His father Donald, decided to rent out the house for the next couple of years. It was an easy decision to make, due to the fact that they've paid off the house and renting it out, in order to gain more capital and money into their pockets. The apartment that are relocating in London is being paid by the accounting firm. So they would save money from paying rent.
It was almost noon in Middleton and Kim went over to Ron's yard as his family were packing the last of their belongings into a truck. Today was Ron's last day in Middleton. "Hey Ron. You need any help packing up?" Kim asks.
"Hey KP, No it's alright. This is the last box." Ron says while lifting up as the box opens up from the bottom.
"Oh great, that's the third time!"
"Here. Let's get another box" Kim says. They clear up all the contents that fell out of the box and tape it up again from the top. And bottom this time and place it onto the transportation truck.
"So, this is it huh?" Kim says
"Fraid so KP. Our flight's at 8. But my parents want to be at the airport a few hours early. Probably want to go shopping at the airport before leaving home."
"I asked my parents if they can go to the airport to say one last goodbye and they said yes."
Ron smiles "That's nice of them. Thanks Kim."
Kim told her family about Ron leaving Middleton, they were quite shocked at first. Even the Tweebs couldn't believe it. The Possible Family was like a second family to Ron and a second home to him. He would always be over their with Kim, or hanging out with Jim and Tim whether it was to watching television, wrestle or help them with their multiple experiments. Even using Rufus as a test subject on occasion. He was treated as a member of their family, despite him eating up quite an appetite at their family dinners. Nevertheless he was welcomed any time within the Possible household.
"So, you've enjoyed your last few days in Middleton?" Kim says trying to cheer up her friend.
"It was a really fun time Kim, too bad it was short." Ron says happily at the first part before saying the second part of his sentence a bit sad.
"Things sure are going to be different around here without you."
"Think you can manage?" Ron says.
"Without a doubt" Kim says lying. It was going to bother her for a while trying to cope losing her best friend.
Kim quickly changes the subject "Bueno Nacho. For one last time?"
"I wouldn't have it any other way KP" Ron says smiling.
Kim smiles as well, before both teens walked to get Bueno Nacho at Ron's favourite store, surely for the last time for a while.
Several Hours Later
At Denver International Airport
After getting some lunch and the hours went by so quickly, Kim's family drove to the airport wanting to say one last goodbye to Ron and his family before leaving for England. Both sets of parents wished each other all the best, while the younger people we're saying their final goodbyes.
"Bye Ron, we're going to miss you" Jim says hugging the blonde teen.
"Yeah, Rufus too." Tim adds on hugging him as well.
"Bye guys, I'm going to miss you two." Ron says before walking towards Kim's parents.
"Bye Dr Mrs Possible. Bye Dr Mr Possible. I'm going to miss you both."
"Bye Ron, we'll miss you too. Have a safe trip." Mrs Possible says hugging the teen
"Bye Ronald, hopefully you comeback one day." Mr Possible say shaking the teens hand before giving him a pat on the shoulder.
"Me too guys. Thanks for everything" Ron says before walking to Kim
Both stood in silence.
So... this is really it?" Ron says as he approaches Kim as he gets a bit chocked up while speaking
"I guess it is." Kim says avoiding to get teary, but is chocked up when she speaks.
Both teens hug each other
"I'm going to miss you KP." Ron says sadly.
"Me too Ron." Kim says in a sadden tone.
Rufus witnesses the two teens hugging from his cage, the naked role mat started crying, using the newspaper on the floor of the cage as a tissue.
"See you Kim, good luck with high school and all the future missions" Ron says breaking the hug, then proceeds to walk towards the security gates. He was waving back to the Possible family. They wave back as well.
Kim waves back to Ron as he goes past the airport security, disappearing amongst the crowd of people at the airport.
"(Sighs) Goodbye Ron." Kim whispers to herself before trickles of tears appear in her eyes, something she has been holding in nearly all day.
It had been several hours since Kim left the airport. Kim was emotional when Ron walked past the security at the airport. When her parents were driving home, she was quiet the whole trip back. She even skipped dinner because she didn't feel hungry. She instead went and camped herself right into her bedroom. She was in her pyjamas in bed, holding onto her Pandaroo plush toy tightly, trying to sleep. She tosses and turns. She finally gives up trying to fall asleep and lets out a big sigh and stares at her Pandaroo.
"Why is life so unfair, I mean Ron and I have been close all these years and suddenly he leaves town." She says to her toy, she develops a glum face "I mean, its just for a few years, maybe once he comes back we can both go to college together once we graduate. Right?"
…..
"And now, I'm talking to a toy. (Sighs) I've completely lost it Kim." Kim says to herself and sighs in defeat as she tosses the plush toy to the side and begins to stare at the ceiling, she then hears a knock on her door.
"Yeah" Kim mumbles. The door opens up to reveal her mother Ann Possible poking her head out the door. "Kimmie, you alright? You've been awful quiet since we left the airport." Before opening the door completely.
Kim silence answers her mother's question. "You miss him. Don't you huh?" Ann says walking towards her daughter's bed and sitting on the edge, putting her hand on her daughter's shoulder.
"Yeah. It's just.. that I can't believe that his gone."
"Honey, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself, it was out of your hands."
"I know mum, but it feels like I've let Ron down. I'm really going to miss him."
"Kimmie, you have to be appreciative of all the times you've been with Ron. You have to cherish all those memoires and good times you've had with him. I know he's gone, but he'll come back one day. I'll let you be Kimmie to get some sleep, you've had a long day." Her mother kisses her cheek "Good night, sweetie" she walks away before turning back "I left you a plate of food in the fridge if you feel hungry later on"
"Thanks mum, you're the best mum ever" Kim says with a small grin on her face as Ann smiles back and leaves her room.
Kim lets out a sigh before lying back down on her bed, hugging her Pandaroo and thinking back on the past few days that have happened. Ron leaving Middleton to move to England. Never in her wildest dreams, she would have seen this coming. All these years she has known Ron, has been wiped out within a week. She would have to wait a few years from him to return, and what if he doesn't return? What if it turns out that he likes England and never comes back home? Ron had a saying 'Never be normal', but this is something out of the unextraordinary for this to happen. Was this some kind of karma for taking down villains? Maybe she had too much ego when she got shown in the media and Ron was left out of the spotlight? Kim felt like this was a sick joke being played. But in reality it was a real. Ronald Stoppable is no longer a resident of Middleton anymore. But the more she thought about things, the more she started to realise certain things. Ron never got the attention he deserved in all honesty. Plus most people she helped or who help her with setting up rides, didn't even know his name. Come to think of it, she felt like she was the hogging the spotlight without her noticing Ron is in her shadows. She valued her best friend as her partner. Sure he can be lazy and overdramatic. But she valued him as her best friend no matter what. Both would get to share the limelight for their bravery and commitment. Kim thinks for another few minutes.
Some time later finally she is able to get some much needed shut eye.
Ron's family boarded the plane after hours of waiting inside the terminal. His parents wanted to get an early start and be at least a few hours earlier due to international flights, plus they wanted to look around at the shops inside the terminal, while Ron got some sweets for the plane trip. He noticed the plane wasn't at full capacity and had a lot of empty seats on this flight. As he sat down in his seat, he decided to check the entertainment on his personal viewing screen on the back of the seat in front of him. His parents sat next to him, but at least Ron got the window seat, which was a bonus. It would give him an opportunity to look at Colorado and the land of America for the last time and hopefully see Middleton from the distance up in the sky. Too bad it was night time. He wanted to see his hometown for the last time properly. He was also disappointed that the airlines 'Flyway' wouldn't allow Ron's pet to be on board the plane, unless it was in a cage. Ron had to purchase one a few days prior. He didn't mind Rufus travelling in his pocket at all, but it wasn't his rules to follow.
He proceeds to slip on his recently purchased headphones for this trip and touches the screen to find a show or film. He wondered what entertainment they have to offer. I mean the flight was going to be nearly 10 hours long, surely they have plenty of things to watch or games to play.
Ron went onto movies and saw their selection.
Planet of the Apes
Ron gasps before swiping left.
King Kong
Ron quickly swipes left again.
Curious George
Ron swipes left again.
Batman & Robin
Ron hesitates for a few seconds, before he swipes left again in annoyance.
Space Chimps
Ron sighs at these choices, due to one of his many fears. Monkeys. When Ron was younger he went to a summer camp, 'Camp Wannaweep'. He established most of his fears when he was there. He tried many times to go home, but his parents didn't pick him up, despite Ron contacting them everyday pleading to go home. While at camp for the duration of the summer, Ron got attacked by most wild life animals. He even slept inside the cabin with the animal mascot, Bobo the Chimpanzee. He destroyed the inside furnishings and menaced Ron to the point, that he developed a pathological fear of monkeys. Ron considered it the worst summer of his life. But this move could top it off. It wasn't that bad though. He enjoyed the last week of his summer break with Kim.
Ron swipes the screen again, then a movie comes up. Shrek
Ron breathes out a sigh of relief 'Donkeys aren't that bad.' Ron thinks to himself.
Ron clicks to watch the film, but an advertisement pops up, which is accustom for any film or tv show you watch on any flight across the world. While waiting for the ad to end Ron looks out towards the thinks about Kim and the team. Leaving Kim to do all the work by herself. After all a Possible can do anything, as her dad would always say. He would miss her family. There caring nature, let Ron come around the house with open arms and feeding him, as he would always eat dinner quite a lot. The Tweebs. Oh how he would miss them. He didn't even get to meet Wade in person! Hopefully that one day will come. At least he would have a fresh start for a new school. No Bonnie, No bullies or giving away lunch money. Sometimes in life, you have to deal with situations like this. It's not a common thing, but it just happens. Ron hasn't had much luck go towards his life. School hasn't treated him right, barely passed his grades. Even his parents haven't been around his life much, but is a happy teenager and loves to hangout with his best friend Kim. Probably one of the best things that's happened in his life. Having a close friend since childhood. Now that won't be the case anymore, as they would have to video chat, text or call each other from a far distance. How things will be different for the next few years. How they both will miss each other.
"It's going to be alright" He muttered to himself as he leans his head on his arm, eating a donut he bought inside the terminal as the film begins and the flight is about to depart the airport.
Author Notes:
- A Legoland is a real life amusement park that exists in the United Kingdom and other locations around the world, including America, Japan, Denmark, Germany, Malaysia and UAE. This specific one referenced in the story is in Windsor, Berkshire in England. Which is near London.
- If you're wondering about where Ron found the word 'Impure' from, it was a reference to 'Blades of Glory', as 2007 American sports-comedy film, featuring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder. Plus all the films on the in-flight entertainment are real life movies. Apologies for the Batman & Robin fans who liked the film. I haven't watched it yet, but I heard it was a really bad film during the 90's. Haven't seen it. Hopefully Netflix in Australia, releases it soon. Watched the previous film from the franchise 'Batman Forever'. Good film. Didn't know Tommy Lee Jones hated Jim Carey as he quote, 'Couldn't sanction his buffoonery'.
