Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or Monster High. I do not own the original story this is based on.
As soon as the date was over, Spectra called her ghoulfriends. She wanted to tell them the good news as soon as possible.
After a few texts, the ghouls met the next morning at the mall. The girls had picked a nice place, The Clean Slate, to meet and eat, when Spectra told them everything.
"Congratulations, Spectra!" Frankie said.
"I knew you'd sink your fangs into him!" Draculaura added.
Thought the ghouls left out the part where they spied on the couple. Again.
Right now is probably not the best time to bring that up. So they continued to congratulate their ghostly friend.
"We're so proud of you, ghoul friend," Clawdeen said.
"Yeah, very proud," Frankie said.
"I will admit I was skeptical at first, but after saving us, I'm glad he came to his senses," Cleo said.
"Moum..." Ghoulia added.
Spectra smiled as she and her friends raised their drinks. With a klink, the ghouls gleefully giggled and squealed in delight.
After all, it's not every day they had news like this.
"We're definitely going to scare up the night," Frankie proclaimed as her friends joined in.
The group of ghouls cheered and organized the events, all while a certain ghost girl blushed dreamily. She looked off into the clouds.
"I wonder how Danny is doing," Spectra said softly, hoping the ghost boy was enjoying the moment as much as she was right now.
It had been another day in Amity Park. The birds were chirping, teens hung out with glee, and Danny found himself pestered by Bertrand in a shark and octopus hybrid with ink attacks, tentacle slaps, shark bites, and gattling teeth.
"Sheesh, what kind of B-rated movies have you been watching?" Danny snarked as he slammed the sharktopus in the nose with an ice fist.
"That's none of your business!" Bertrand said as he squirted ink again
Danny dodged, not threatened in the least by the black ink. Though he did clean his suit recently.
"Seriously, Bertrand. I was kinda hoping for a quiet day. And where's your boss?" Danny asked.
"Spectra and I have been feeling down due to you, I figured your head on a platter would make us feel better," the morphing ghost said with a smile.
"Yeah, not gonna happen," Danny said as he sent an ice blast at his foe.
Not wanting the prolong the fight, the ghost boy put real effort into the blast as he encased his foe. The ghostly morpher tried to break free, but the ice was too thick. He soon saw the open end of the thermos as it powered up.
"Not again!" Bertrand yelled.
"Got you," Danny said as he sucked Bertrand in
Danny closed the lid with a trapped ghost and flew away to relax. Or he would have if his ghost sense had not gone off. The hero flew over to a warehouse with a groan where Ember was pumping up the volume and knocking back anyone inside. And it would not be long before the police got involved, and that could spell disaster.
"Hello, fellow youths! Tell me! Who! You! Love!" the diva screamed as her flaming ponytail burned brighter with intensity.
An ice blast to the head wore it down, but the flames melted before any real damage was done.
"Geez, I thought you were above the underground circuit," Danny quipped.
His foe blasted a few power chords. Danny dodged one but had to block for the other, knocking him back. He glared at the diva ghost.
"What's the matter? Afraid I'll bite?" Ember quipped with a grin.
The ghost boy's response came in the form of an ectoblast at the speakers and stage. With her props destroyed, the rocker glared angrily at Danny.
"It's really your bark that's worse," the ghostly hero proclaimed with a smirk. "Especially when you play it."
"Oh, it's on now, dipstick," Ember said with a sly grin.
She leaped at him. Danny dodged and returned with ectoblasts. He flew at her, forming a staff of ice as he clashed with the rocker's instrument.
The two battled it out with ice staff and guitar as the audience cheered.
"Go Phantom!" Was heard much to the ghostly diva's irritation.
Though some cheered for Ember, giving her a nice boost. It was fortunate Danny had gotten stronger over his time ghost fighting.
But the fight was difficult still. Ember pushed back with her flaming hair. Danny's ice powers helped numb the pain and nullify the attack, but the flames melted the staff.
This is gonna be tough. Danny thought to himself.
He flew forward and iced the floor, slipping up Ember and her act. With his foe distracted, the boy brought out the thermos.
But he was not fast enough as a fireball barreled at him, buying the Ember enough time to escape.
"Catch you on my encore," she said before disappearing.
Danny groaned at how the rocker escaped. But was pushed further as his ghost sense went off again.
Most of the day was like this. It seemed to the protector of AMity PArk that the ghosts were trying to catch up on annoying him. At least he had his previous month of dating mostly ghost-free. Though there was one day.
Danny crashes into his bed. It was summer but felt more like a school day with all the ghosts. Tucker was there to help when he could, like when Technus raided another electronics store. It was a laugh seeing one of the ghostly foes distracted because he did not update his tech.
It was very cathartic seeing Technus hacked and helpless. Gave more than enough time to suck a Technus into the thermos.
Skulker was surprisingly absent. He heard nothing about the hunter. The ghost boy even asked the Box Ghost during his fourth attempt today. All he got was attitude, which just placed the ghost into the thermos faster.
Opening his phone, the ghost boy went online, but not the human web. He found himself on the Monsternet, particularly for a blog belonging to Spectra Vondergeist. He smiled as the ghoul updated her page.
Big News coming soon! After I celebrate with my ghoul friends!
The ghost boy smiled. Knowing she would be announcing their relationship. They needed time first to adjust. He had only discovered the monster world this summer. There needed to be some transition, especially with Spectra saying Danny Phantom has a phan club in the monster circle. He could stand the human fan, but how would things go with ghouls and mansters?
"That's gonna be scary...I think," Danny thought out loud. He looked at the clock on his nightstand and saw it was still fine to stay up late for a while.
He still had a good feeling about the ghost girl. It was a bit tough saying goodbye before he had to hit the hay.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Spectra. Maybe you can meet my friends too before the summer is over," Danny said with a yawn.
"Alright. Take care, Danny. Have a nice scream," Spectra said softly as she hung up.
The ghost boy chuckled, still getting used to the monster slang.
So the ghostly teen lay on his bed, looking at his ceiling as he thought of the cute ghost girl he was dating.
It was ironic, given that he regularly fights ghosts but has fans with monsters and ghouls.
I'd ask where did my life get like this, but it's too late for that. He thought in contemplation.
He could remember when the ghost girl told him of the club. It was back on their second date as they enjoyed some food.
"you really shock and rock with us ghouls," Spectra said, pulling out her iCoffin. She pushed the Netapp and proceeded to show Danny photos of mansters and ghouls dressed in his signature black and white with glowing green. The costumes ranged from relatively normal to require safe search to be turned off to continue.
Not that Spectra would show those pictures.
"Wow, that last I was not expecting," Danny snarked as he picked up his jaw.
"And that's only the tip of the iceberg. There's even a branch at Monster High."
"You don't say?" The ghost boy remarked with a smirk. He figured as much with his luck, concerning his ghost half at least.
"Everything alright?" The ghost girl asked. She placed a hand on Danny's. They locked eyes, but don't smile.
"I admit," the ghost girl said, grasping the boy's hand. "This may be difficult, but I don't regret my choice."
The smiles then appeared on both ghosts as their order came. Danny looked at the meal and decided to partake. Even he was too happy to not eat anything.
This is...actually pretty good. Danny thought, taking a bite of creeperoni screechza.
Though he was overjoyed at his new relationship, Danny sighed. The boy was not sure about the future, but he was not afraid of any ghost. So that meant monsters will not faze him. Speaking of which, his phone buzzed, alerting him to the new ghoul in his life. With a smile, the ghost boy answered.
"Hey, Spectra."
"Hi, die-rling," Spectra replied with a giggle. She was not going to stop enjoying saying that. "How was your day?"
"Well, I don't have a blog, so I couldn't post it, but things were just about normal as they can get. For me, at least. I ran into the other Spectra's assistant, Bertrand."
Spectra Vondergeist scowled. She did not like to hear of Danny's enemy that she shares a name with. Though hearing of the butt whopping her little ghost got brought a smile to her face.
"By the way, I saw your blog," Danny added. "I hear you have some big news coming along."
"Wouldn't you like to know," Spectra teased. "Of corpse, you're the first to know."
The couple chatted away for the rest of the night. Or at least until Jack and Maddie checked up on their kids. Danny hid his phone as his parents entered. He loved them, but the ghost obsessed parents were not ready to hear of their ghost boy's ghostly girlfriend.
"Sorry about that," Danny resumed.
"It's ok. One of these days, we'll tell them. Hopefully," Spectra said in concern.
Doubt still lingered as the ghostly couple was determined to stay together. The obstacles would appear now.
Starting with the first one's return.
A car pulled over as four people got out and walked into the house in another part of town. One was excited as she ran up the stairs and kicked open the door.
"Samantha Manson! That is not how we act!" Pamela Manson said to her daughter.
It was too late as the girl was up the stair by the time the mother finished.
"Let her be," said grandmother Manson. "You've been keeping her cooped up in Europe all this time and did not let her explore in her own.
Jeremy and Pamela Manson stare at the elderly woman in an electronic wheelchair. They are angry but can't stay mad as she had a point. They sigh as someone grabs the remaining suitcases from the trunk and head inside.
Sam kicks open the door with enough joyous force to leave an imprint if she could. It was almost the sea of n of her, her favorite time of the evening.
Her excitement was enough to almost call her friends. Almost. She knows them to be sleeping, as far as she knew. But tomorrow is arriving soon.
And soon, Danny and Tucker would know Sam was back.
A short and sweet chapter for today. Sam is back already. Will this be just like Phantasma? Find out in the next chapters.
Special Thanks! to Flower Princess11 for all her help!
