Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or Monster High. I do not own the original story this is based on.

Summer had ended. The hot weather was cooling down gradually as fall's entrance came. It was a time of new beginnings that came with growing up for many.

And for Danny Fenton, that change came in the form of waking up knowing he had to return to school. The ghost boy groaned as he woke up to the sound of munching and crunching. He looked up to see a wicked mouth chewing away.

"Glad to see you're eating well." It was hard to tell if Danny's tone was grateful or sarcastic. "Well, at least I can be happy you kept away the nightmares."

Danny groaned. Two things happened after dealing with Bill back in Gravity Falls: the ghost boy got regular nightmares, and his parents were furious at the extra days he was gone. He could remember how his parents stormed the front door when he got home.

"You didn't call us to say you two were staying an extra couple of days!?" Maddie fumed. Jack nodded in agreement.

"Uh...sorry, things got crazy in Gravity Falls," Danny said apologetically.

"Do you know how worried your mother and I were?" Jack held up a phone. "We tried calling but got cranks calls saying we had reached an alternate dimension where meat bags are being driven insane!"

Danny blinked. "Say what now?" The boy gave a confused grin when his parents asked about that. If there was a silver lining, it was that his ghost form kept his civilian clothes clean with no nicks or scratches.

But that didn't stop his parents from grounding him for a month.

And that was the least of his worries. This brings us to now.

Danny watched as the dream eater burped loudly before going to sleep. The boy stood up to pay the thing as he got ready for work.

"Remind me to thanks Spectra and her ghoulfriends really, really good when I can," Danny said to himself.

The dream eater: the monster version of a dream catcher, but it ate terrible dreams, a now reoccurrence with the boy. He could remember how he dreamt of crumbling worlds, people burning while being confronted into different shapes, all while screaming in agony. And those were the good ones. It was worse when he showed up. Not to mention how things hit a new level of fear when Bill Cipher showed up.

It was only two days, but every time Danny closed his eyes, all he could see were nightmares. He was sure if one of his enemies saw them, they would just run away.

That worried his parents even more. And to raise the anxiety levels, Danny wouldn't say anything to them.

How could he? He'd have to explain everything. And he means everything.

Luckily, Spectra, who had seen her boyfriend's terrible sleeping habits, had banded with her friends to buy Danny a dream eater. The monster item's ghoulish design, the basic Dreamweaver design except with a mouth instead of a net, unnerved the boy at first. After much urging and one nap, he was convinced to keep it, kissing his girlfriend repeatedly as thanks.

Danny could remember how red his girlfriend's face turned once he stopped peppering her face with his kisses of extreme gratitude. Although he still needed to find some way to properly thank his girlfriend's best friends for chipping in to help. The ghost boy put a pin in that thought for later since his mind was already clouded with other things this morning. Good thing they left during the nap; otherwise, they'd be snapping photos of the grateful ghost.

"Guess I'm not ready to fight a god or whatever Bill is," Danny dryly remarked. He glanced at his hand, flexing the muscles inside.

The ghost boy focused his energy, trying to get a better feel for his powers. One thing he needed to do was get stronger. That was a promise he made to himself.

The ghost boy finished his chores as he got dressed.

"There, all done and, it's only—almost seven!?" Danny rushed to his alarm clock then looked at his watch. He had only two minutes to go.

"Going ghost!" Danny declared, summoning his rings of light and flying at high speeds to the school as Phantom.

Of all the days, he couldn't believe that he slept in today! Granted, summer had been more exhausting, and he got too used to waking up later, but he had prepared to actually not be late. He was thankful to Spectra for all her help, but it seemed some habits die hard.

"I hope Spectra having a better time than I am," Danny said, dashing through the air. He chuckled, since knowing her, the ghost girl was more prepped than he was.

Specter was faring better. Being a ghost girl in the monster world already desensitized to weirdness. But part of her felt pangs of guilt. She had been so excited about a new story she dove headfirst into making a report. And from her rushed decision, she had her boyfriend and herself mixed into a battle for the world.

Now, nobody blamed her for arriving when an inter-dimensional being crossed over to invade the world. Not that the ghost girl put any on herself. It was an accident.

But, that didn't stop the guilt she felt from Danny's current psyche. No matter how much he said it was a superhero thing.

And then there were her parents, who were almost scared alive. They had hugged their daughter, noticing her dusty and slightly ragged appearance.

"What happened?" Elvira asked frantically. "You were supposed to be gone for a a few days, but your father and I couldn't reach you!"

"Sorry, mom, dad." Spectra looked to each of her parents. "Things got crazy as a being from another dimension appeared and caused madness and chaos."

After hearing her explain everything that had happened in Gravity Falls, from the small town surrounded by the energy of chaotic weirdness to the defeat of Bill Cipher, Spectra's parents looked paler than they already do.

"A being from another dimension...things certainly have changed before we became monsters." Specter said in exhaustion as he leaned on the wall.

His wife comforted him with a hand on his shoulder. Thankfully, Danny had kept his promise to them and brought their daughter back home safe and sound. But didn't mean Spectra was out of the waters yet. She did get a bit of scolding and a lecture about staying safe, though they couldn't exactly tell their daughter to prepare for the end of the world.

Since the beginning of the school year, Spectra had put herself back into work mode without the same excitement she had expressed earlier. While happy to have found a potentially big story, Weirdmageddon was not something she wanted to experience again. A thought she was humoring as she typed away on her laptop for the school's paper, the Gory Gazette. It was mostly empty as the others left to hang out with friends. All were done for the day except the ghost girl, who needed a distraction.

"Maybe I should just stick to some local stories," Spectra said to herself. The ghost girl phased out of the Gazette's room and roamed the halls silently as she listened to the other monsters. Gossip would not be published, but it could lead to something to write about.

But there wasn't always a scoop, and today was one of those dry days. Nobody had anything to say, at least not that they had anything to say. At least, that's what part of the ghoul was saying to herself.

Going back to pick up her computer, Spectra sighed as she glanced at her wallpaper. It was the picture she had taken during Weirdmageddon where Danny was doing some heavy lifting. His face was dirty as parts of his suit were torn from fighting henchmaniacs and the like.

"Danny...I'm sorry for dragging you into this. I shouldn't have gotten so excited..." She felt a slight sting in her heart where the guilt was. Shaking her head, the ghoul threw herself back into her article. She had a deadline to meet.

"Boyfriend troubles?"

Spectra jolted up as she heard the new voice, staring at the door where the newcomer came in.

Torelai: a werecat that had a habit of causing trouble for her and her friends. Seeing her walk towards you was never as it seemed, such as when she had fun with Hoodude, a voodoo doll student. The orange cat walked over with a jump in her step, a bad sign to many.

But Spectra was one of the few monsters on good terms with the ghoul. She didn't have anything to worry about and brought out a pad and pen.

"You could say that," the werecat said, signaling her posse to wait at the door. The two grey cats nodded, giggling mischievously s they silently watched.

Most monsters would take that as a bad sign, but Spectra was somewhat oblivious given her shy nature. She just gave a smile as she watched the werecat walk to her desk.

"You see, there's been more sightings of that ghost hero, Danny Phantom to be purrcise." Torelai sat on Spectra's desk. The ghost girl widened her eyes as she listened to Torelai. "I had heard you have been interviewing him quite often. Hope your boofriend doesn't mind."

Spectra gulped loudly, almost sweating, watching as Torelai glanced at the ghost girl's screen. Her face didn't express anything as a smirk grew.

"But I'm here to ask you about him."

"L-like what?" Spectra asked.

"Such as—"

"Torelai? What are you doing here?" Draculaura asked, almost offended the werecat was in the office.

Torelai turned with a glare. She glared at the door where her two friends were. The grey werecats were growling at the other ghouls of Spectra and Draculaura's friends, who were staring back.

Cleo walked past the pair of cats and went up to Torelai, now getting off the desk.

"Nothing, really. Just thought I'd get the scoop on a certain ghost boy," Torelai teased.

"If you're bringing up Eddie, I'll—"

"Relax." Torelai put her hands up in surrender. "I'm just here to ask about a manster, that's all."

Cleo glared at the werecat, as did Clawdeen, Lagoona, and Ghoulia. Frankie was more curious as she looked to Draculaura, who was giving the ghoul the benefit of the doubt, for now. But the entire group silently agreed the feline monster was up to something.

Sensing the tension, Torelai walked away with a catty smirk. Her posse glanced from the doorway, snickering as the clowder walked away.

"I don't know about you ghouls, but I'm certain that she didn't corner Spectra to talk about Eddie." Clawdeen pointed out, already suspecting the worst from the orange werecat.

"She...wanted to talk about Danny. Phantom, at least," Spectra added, glancing at her laptop.

"Do you think she knows?" Frankie asked. The ghoul glanced at the door, walking over to close it, but not before checking the surroundings.

"To say that cat wants to play is an understatement." Lagoona leaned against a wall, wondering what Torelai's next move would be,

All the while, Spectra was now keeping to herself. Her friends broke out of their conversation, wondering why the werecat was questioning Danny Phantom, to notice the ghost girl sighing.

"Is something the matter, Spectra?" Frankie asked. She sat beside her ghostly friend. The others joined in as they all gathered to see the ghost girl staring at a picture of Danny. It was the only one Spectra had of Gravity Falls during Weirdmageddon. Not much could be seen, but it had the ghost boy with a manotaur, both flexing their strength. Albeit, the manotaur was trying to outshine Danny.

"I thought you said all your photos of that Weirdmageddon thing were gone," Clawdeen commented.

"I did," Spectra groaned, wishing she still had backed up the photos. "This one I took on my iCoffin." The ghoul laid her head on the desk, phasing it through due to shame.

"Ahhh..."Ghoulia rasped, patting the ghost girl on the back.

"Thanks, Ghoulia," Spectra said with her head inside the desk. "But there's more to it."

"Well, let's talk it out," Frankie said, leaning over.

"Yeah. We ghouls gotta stick together," Draculaura added.

"So why don't you tell us what's going on," Clawdeen said.

"Well..." After going over the events of Weirdmageddon, Spectra stopped, explaining how Danny wanted her to meet his parents. The ghouls were silent as they processed everything.

"Wow! What a shock to your system!" Frankie said with her neck sparkling with a bit of electricity in total shock that their relationship just leveling up.

"Oh, my ghoul! I'm so happy for you Spectra!" Draculaura said, jumping as high as she could at the sudden development of her favorite ghostly couple.

"Already?! Then should I expect my invitation to your wedding before or after graduations?" Cleo teased with a smirk. She was simply happy.

"Dang ghoul, you got it going on!" Clawdeen said, feeling a bit of pride in her friend achieving a deeper relationship with her manster.

"Ahhh..." Ghoulia moaned in joy for the ghost girl.

Spectra smiled but groaned as the thought of meeting Danny's parents came to mind. While she was happy for the support from her friends, there was still the matter that they were ghost hunters. And not like those on reality television, either.

"Oh, what do I do?" Spectra moaned. She floated up to the ceiling for some space. "I know Danny's parents want to meet me, but they're known ghost hunters. The moment they find out, I could be ripped apart molecule by molecule."

"Why not just buy one of those chokers that disguises you as a human?" Clawdeen asked. "They're all the rage right now."

Spectra sighed as she came down. It wasn't like she hadn't tried that.

"I haven't been able to get any and the stand where they are sold is gone for restocking," the ghost girl said.

That was not ideal. With no disguise, one that could slip past any supernatural detection systems, the ghost girl was up a creek without a paddle. Everyone was quiet again, trying to think of something to cheer up their ghostly friend. They huddled amongst themselves, searching for ideas.

But as the ghouls talked, they didn't notice Cleo was quietly watching everything. Her face was neutral as she pondered to herself. After a moment, the mummy girl walked to spectra with a loud click of her shoes.

The others looked over, now wondering what Cleo would say.

"You need something to disguise yourself, right?" Cleo asked.

"Well, yes," Spectra replied.

"Didn't you want to ask me about an artifact the other day?"

"Yes! It was the...the umm..." Spectra blushed as she tried to remember what it was. It was embarrassing to forget such an important request.

"Its name isn't what's important right now. Do you remember what it does?" Cleo said, wanting to get to the point. The mummy girl walked beside the ghost girl, typing away on her computer.

To say Spectra remembered the artifact was an understatement. Sure, she had forgotten the name, but with the special disguise collars out of stock, for now, her focus was partially on the artifact. The ghost girl watched as her friend typed in a name, who smirked as an idea came to her mind.

"I remember what is does. The question is, will it work?" Spectra asked.

Cleo gave her friend a confident and faux, almost offended look. "Of corpse, it will." She then typed in a fashion magazine. "But I think we can do more with a little surprise."

Spectra glanced at the screen as she saw her friend look up fashion.

Another day went by at Casper High as Danny hid from Dash. After everything that happened over the summer, he wanted nothing to do with the bully.

"Sheesh! You think the guy would actually look at a book." Danny turned around a corner as he ran from the jock. "Does he really like hitting me over the books."

The ghost boy turned around to see the blonde boy still on his trail. He wore a scrunched-up snaring face, holding a failed spelling test in his hands.

"On second thought, I don't want to know."

Zigzagging through the halls in his memory, the ghost boy manages to evade the annoyance of Dash. Walking at a calmer pace, he began to overhear some of his fellow students gawking and commenting on some hot girl visiting Casper High. He looked around to see no one, having heard she was looking for someone in particular as she journeyed through the school.

Danny met up with Sam and Tucker, who listened to the gossip and put away the last of their school items.

"Sheesh, so another girl comes to school. It's not anything new," Sam snarked, opening her locker. She was unconcerned with the topic, seeing it as usual, drivel, hormone-induced guy talk.

"Yeah, but when another pretty girl comes to school, is there anything else to talk about?" Tucker said in a neutral tone. He glanced at his PDA. "I mean besides the ghosts, nothing like this happens. What do you think, Danny?"

"Eh...its probably as you guys say. Just something new." Danny leaned against the lockers. He was just happy the school day was over, and the jocks were leaving him alone. He looked curious at some students walking by. Their topic had not changed.

But their eyes were now in the direction of the new girl, who was walking down the hall.

Nobody knew where this girl came from, and none of the guys seemed to care as they commented how smoking hot she was. Girls watched with curious eyes as they noted her unusually gothic fashion, particularly the silver chains on her blouse, skirt, belt, bracelet, and shoes. She looked around and noticed the ghost boy and her friends and walked over.

"Danny, hi," she said, waving. This confused all the students present at this moment, especially Danny.

"I'm sorry, don;t take this the wrong way, but do I know you?" Danny asked.

To his and everyone's surprise, the girl smiled as she walked right up to him, slowly leaned forward, and whispered something in his ear.

"Is my favorite boofriend surprised to see his favorite ghoulfriend in his normie school?" The mysterious new girl quietly said. She winked as the boy stared slack-jawed.

Once Danny heard her voice and choice of words, he immediately knew who this mysterious girl had to be.

"Spectra?"

And we're done with Weirdmageddon and back to boosiness. This time we'll get a look at Spectra visiting Casper High and eventually Danny's parents. It won't be a three-parter this time. That was me...being me at the time. Anyway, there's not much to say right now. Though, expect more ghost girl updates soon. So, have a good day and stay healthy.

Special Thanks! to Jay The Average Fanboy for all his help!
