Note: Alright, this story is T-rated. However, the violence won't be bad enough to put the story towards M-rated territory. Before we move on, I want to say something to three recent reviewers.

Joel-Robert-Dayton: This story isn't supposed to be like Star Fox. Rather, it's supposed to be like a Japanese-American martial arts movie featuring characters from The Raccoons, albeit with different names. I hope that you enjoy the story regardless of that.

hechtmanelijah6: Good to know that you're familiar with the game the story is inspired by. I hope that you like the story as it progresses.

Ron: The story has only just begun, trust me.

Now, without further ado, let's move on to chapter two.

Chapter 2: A New Task

It was a quiet, peaceful morning in Tokyo. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, as it was summer. An aardvark with blue hair was walking down the street with no hesitation. He was wearing glasses and a backpack that looked quite heavy. Upon hearing a noise, he stopped in his tracks. Above him, a shadow started to form.

"Hi-ya!" A raccoon came down at him with a gold-bladed katana. This raccoon was wearing a red and yellow sweater with "Ohayo!" written in yellow. Before he could strike, the aardvark blocked it with a spiked mace.

"Come on, Bairei," the aardvark said, "we shouldn't fool around with our weapons!"

"Ease up, Chikaga," Bairei, the raccoon, chuckled, "I was just having fun!"

"Sometimes I think that you're just crazy." Chikaga sighed.

"He has a point, Bairei!" Another raccoon joined in on the conversation. This raccoon was a few inches shorter than Bairei and Chikaga, and he was wearing a white scarf around his neck.

"Oh boy, Ryuta!" Chikaga gasped as he looked at his watch, "I'm glad you're here, but we've got to head back to the building! We're late!"

"Let's go!" Bairei shouted in excitement.

The three started to run as fast as they could. In fact, they were running so fast, an officer, a tiger, stopped them.

"Are you three out of your minds?!" He scolded, "You could get hurt on those weapons you're carrying!"

"Sorry, Chief Kaizuka," Chikaga apologized, "we we're just on our way to my father's place!"

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't fine any of you!" Chief Kaizuka demanded.

"How about this?" Ryuta asked as he held out a card, allowing the Chief to read it.

"Ah yes, the current lineup of the Seven Heroes." The tiger was convinced before turning angry, "You were formed by Chu-ya Sunea without consulting me despite the fact that I'm a descendant of the leader of the original team!"

"Well, actually, we lost a member." Bairei said.

"Yeah, my older brother, Junichi." Ryuta stated.

"What happened to him?" Chief Kaizuka asked.

"He moved to Canada nineteen years ago." Ryuta answered.

"Do you think that Chu-ya would allow me to join?" The Chief asked.

"I'll have to ask him." Chikaga stated.

"Let's just hope that Chu-ya San is reasonable enough!" Ryuta said.

Bairei, Ryuta, and Chikaga arrived at Sunea Temple before the Pigs could be sent out after them. The Pigs were some of Chu-ya's most trusted employees, but sometimes their loyalty was in question. Chikaga was so focused on arriving that he didn't notice that the Pigs were in front of him.

"Chikaga, you're two minutes late." Izumi, the first Pig, said.

"I know," Chikaga said, "we just got sidetracked."

"We?" Daisuke, the second Pig, asked.

"Yeah," Ryuta answered, "we had to explain ourselves to an officer."

"Is Chu-ya san here?" Bairei asked.

"He's in his office right now." Nozomi, the third Pig, claimed.

"Let's take the elevator, guys." Chikaga said to Bairei and Ryuta.

"Yeah," Ryuta spoke, "that's a better alternative for getting to Chu-ya's office instead of going up the stairs."

After spending a minute in the elevator, Chikaga stepped out with Bairei and Ryuta following him. The three then made a turn to the right, coming across a door. The door itself had a sign beside it that said "Ofisu". Carefully opening the door, Bairei let Ryuta, Chikaga, and himself in the room, where an aardvark was sitting at a desk. The aardvark just so happened to be Chu-ya Sunea.

"Father." Chikaga greeted him.

"You three are late, you know!" Chu-ya responded.

"Our sincere apologies, Chu-ya Sensei!" Ryuta bowed.

"If you didn't have any honor," the aardvark said, "and if Chikaga wasn't related to me, I would have you three commit seppuku! Then I would have to find your replacements!"

"We're thankful that you didn't send the Pigs after us, father." Chikaga said.

"Yeah," Bairei noted, "it would be embarrassing to be chased by shogayaki."

"Can you just explain to me why you're late, Chikaga?" Chu-ya demanded.

"Well, Bairei and I were having a scuffle with our weapons." Chikaga said.

"Typical," Chu-ya noted, "Bairei acts like a child!"

"Before they could scuffle more," Ryuta said, "I had to interrupt. When we noticed that we were late, we ran."

"How fast did you run?" The old aardvark asked.

"We ran like roadrunners on a -" Bairei began.

"From Chikaga, not you!" Chu-ya interrupted.

"We we're running as fast as we can." Chikaga explained, "In fact, we were so busy running , we didn't even notice Chief Kaizuka when we bumped into him."

"Chief Akira Kaizuka? Is that hardhead still in the force?" The old aardvark asked.

"Of course he is!" Bairei said.

"He even asked if there was a position for him on the team." Chikaga noted.

"No way!" Chu-ya said, "He's a cop and cops have different training than you do!"

"Even if he's a descendant of the original team, he's still not allowed to join?" Chikaga was quizzical.

"That's right." His father answered.

"Where are the others?" Ryuta asked.

"They're in the training room." The old aardvark said, "Now get out of here!"

Down the hallway, battle cries and sounds of weapons hitting each other emitted from the training room. Bairei, Ryuta, and Chikaga looked through the half-open door and saw a raccoon training with an aardvark. The raccoon, a female with blue eyes, was wearing a pink tank top. The aardvark was inches taller than her friend, but shared her blue eyes with the raccoon. She was pink like Chikaga and Chu-ya, but she had long, dark blue hair and was wearing a blue shirt, white shorts, and sneakers. From exactly two feet away, an Old English Sheepdog has a clawed gauntlet on, but he was not training with the others. After trading a few more swipes of their weapons, the raccoon and the aardvark saw their teammates.

"Hello everyone." Chikaga greeted.

"Mayumi, Shizuka, Schaefer, you look good." Bairei noted.

"This is the third time you guys have been late." Mayumi, the female raccoon, said.

"You should be lucky that Chikaga is around," Shizuka noted, "otherwise Mr. Sunea would've made you -"

"We know, Shizuka." Ryuta interrupted. Shizuka was known for stating the obvious, but her teammates tolerated it.

"Why aren't you training, Schaefer san?" Bairei approached the sheepdog.

"I'm just a bit tired." Schaefer said, "After all, we've been through so much."

"Indeed we have." Mayumi noted, "I will never forget the day we fought that dragon!"

"Or when you and Ryuta got married." Chikaga added.

"Yeah, that was a good day." Ryuta stated.

"I'm half-surprised that Chu-ya even allowed it to happen." Bairei stated, "You know how much of a hardhead he is."

Chu-ya stepped into the room, "If any of you are done reminiscing, I've got a new task for you!"

"What is it, father?" Chikaga asked.

"Are any of you familiar with the Serpent Gang?" The older aardvark asked.

"Aren't they those gangsters who were behind that terrorist attack?" Ryuta asked.

"Indeed," he answered, "and they've taken control over several gangs in Canada. Some of those gangs are near the area where Junichi lives now."

"Junichi?" Shizuka asked.

"My older brother's in trouble?!" Ryuta was shocked.

"He's not in trouble yet," Chu-ya explained, "but he will be if the Serpent Gang gets their hands on the Ruby of Saturn!"

"I've heard about that!" Schaefer said, "It's rumored to have unimaginable powers that are dangerous in the hands of one person!"

"And if the Serpent Gang gets their hands on it, they could unleash the evil that some of your ancestors fought in order to take over the world!" The aardvark said.

"We've got to stop them!" Shizuka cried.

"Are there any flights to Canada open?" Mayumi asked.

"There's one left," Chu-ya stated, "and I've told the airport that you're coming!"

"Then let's go!" Bairei shouted.

"Take the train, you'll get there faster!" The old aardvark said.

"Arigato, Mr. Sunea!" Ryuta bowed.

"Save your thanks for later, you need to get to Canada!" The older male said.

As they boarded the train, the Seven Heroes were handed a package that was full of kunai, shurikens, and smoke bombs.

"How resourceful!" Shizuka smiled.

"Agreed," Schaefer said, "let's just hope that these can help us fight any threat!"

"We can stomp any threat!" Bairei said, "And we'll get to Canada without a scratch!"

Note: Be careful, Bairei, you might be proven wrong. I know that it isn't necessary, but I decided to include what certain Japanese words uttered in this chapter mean.

Ohayo! = Wake up!

Seppuku = A ritualistic suicide by disemboweling

Shogayaki = A dish with pork in it.

Arigato = Thank you.

Sensei is a word for teacher, but I don't know what "san" is supposed to mean. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism stating what you like and what you don't like. Until next time guys, peace!
