Note: Before opening this chapter, I want to say something to a recent reviewer.
Joel-Robert-Dayton: You're welcome. I hope that you're doing well and that you enjoy the rest of the story.
While a number of you might be wondering what the story has to do with The Raccoons, bear in mind that this is an AU story. As such, it's not related to the show's main continuity. Now then, it's time for chapter three.
Chapter 3: Ambush
After a few minutes, the six Heroes arrived at the airport, where they saw a gorilla sitting by his lonesome.
"Hey Ken!" Schaefer called out.
"Schaefer, good to see you." Ken, the gorilla, greeted.
"What are you doing here?" Bairei asked.
"I'm here to protect the innocent people currently in this airport." The ape stated.
"Well, we're on our way to Canada." Mayumi said.
"What for?" The larger male asked.
"To take down the Serpent Gang." Chikaga said.
"The Serpent Gang?" Ken asked.
"They've taken control of various crime gangs in Canada, and Ryuta's older brother could be in danger!" Bairei said.
"Not to mention that they'll seize a powerful gem in order to take over the world!" Shizuka added.
"You shouldn't try to fight the Serpent Gang, they're too dangerous!" Ken warned.
"But they're villains, and they will cause chaos if we don't stop them!" Bairei argued.
"Besides, we've got a flight to catch." Ryuta said.
"I'll go in with you." Ken stated, "But I won't promise that I'll join you on your flight to the Great White North."
The six Heroes entered the airport with Ken walking in behind them. The group then walked through the building, not expecting what would happen next. Ken stopped in his tracks, his ears picking up a sound.
"What is it?" Schaefer asked.
"I hear something." Ken stated.
"Like what?" Bairei asked.
"Someone's approaching us." The gorilla said.
"And who is that someone?" Ryuta asked.
Ken was quiet for a moment, then gasped and said "Bairei, look out!"
Without warning, Bairei was thrown to the side by an unknown figure. That unknown figure was a ninja, who was then joined by three others.
"Ninjas?!" Chikaga was surprised.
"No doubt sent by the Serpent Gang to kill us!" Mayumi said as she got out her fans.
"Teki o kakonde kōgeki!" One of the ninjas shouted.
Ken got into a defensive stance, bringing out a tachi.
"What are you doing?" Schaefer asked.
"Taking care of these ruffians, my friend." Ken answered.
The ninjas surrounded Ken, getting ready to strike.
"You can leave," the gorilla warned, "or you can stay and face your destiny."
None of them said anything.
"Very well." The ape said, "I, Kenshin Hachiwara, will take on all four of you."
One of the ninjas ran towards Ken, but he quickly dispatched of the disguised figure. The second one began to summon a flame in his hand, forming it into a fireball. As Ken fought the other two ninjas, he was unaware of the fireball being launched at him. Before it could hit the gorilla, Shizuka hit it back at the ninja who launched it with her spear.
"Get on your flight," Ken said to the six Heroes, "I can take them on!"
"Are you sure?" Schaefer asked.
"Yes," the gorilla nodded, "I just wanted to wish you guys well on your journey. Good luck, the Seven Heroes."
After hearing that, the six walked off, leaving Ken to fight off against the ninjas. The group then went up to the ticket taker, who told them that their flight was ready for them. Upon boarding the plane, Bairei, Ryuta, Mayumi, Chikaga, Shizuka, and Schaefer felt like they were in a limousine.
"Can't say that I'm impressed." Ryuta said.
"Father must really like this plane." Chikaga stated.
"I like it as well!" Bairei smiled.
Mayumi's ears picked up something, "What's that noise?"
Another ninja came in the plane, running towards the six.
"Another one?!" Bairei was shocked.
"Shinu!" The ninja shouted, getting out a dagger.
With no time to spare, Schaefer got out his clawed gauntlet and threw an uppercut in the ninja's gut, knocking him out. Once he was down, Bairei and Ryuta carefully threw him out of the plane.
"Let's hope that there aren't more surprises in this plane." Ryuta said as the plane's door closed.
"Yeah, this flight better be fun too!" Bairei said.
"Do you ever take anything seriously?" Mayumi asked.
"Only battle." Bairei said.
Everyone burst out laughing. After that, they all sat down and took their seats, waiting for the plane to reach Canada.
Meanwhile, a ninja was running into an old building, where a black panther was reading.
"Sir, we've got a problem!" The ninja cried.
"What is it?" The panther asked.
"Our ambush didn't go as planned," the Ninja stated, "we got beat back by Kenshin Hachiwara! I'm sorry, Sir!"
The panther got up and pulled a pistol out of his pocket.
"Do you think that you can be replaced?" He asked, pointing the gun at the Ninja.
"No," the Ninja said, "but I know where the Seven Heroes are going!"
"Where are they going?" The panther asked.
"They're going to Canada!" He answered.
"Do they know about our plans?" The feline asked.
"Probably," the Ninja said, "what are we going to do?"
The panther let out a chuckle and said, "Don't worry, the Seven Heroes won't be able to stop us. Once we get the Ruby of Saturn, they will be begging for mercy."
"Oh right, I forgot about the gem we needed!" The Ninja chuckled.
"Now get out of here, you're interrupting me in my free time." The jungle cat said.
The Ninja nodded before leaving the room. Once he was gone, the panther looked at a map of Canada.
"They think that they can stop us?" He spoke to himself, "They might be able to hold their ground, but they're entering Serpent Cult territory. They better watch their step."
Note: Yup, that's the main antagonist of the story. His name will be revealed in a later story. Now that the chapter is finished, here are the Japanese to English translations.
Teki o kakonde kōgeki = Surround the enemy and attack
Shinu = Die
As a fair warning, I translated the English words to Japanese on an internet translator, but I'm not sure if the translations are right. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism stating what you like and what you don't like. Until next time guys, peace!
