Chapter 60.
Nemesis.
(Scott POV)
"Captain's Log, Stardate 51082.4, After searching for more than 2 days, we've finally locate what's left of Commander Chakotay's Shuttle, I can only hope Chakotay fared better than his shuttle, End log," As I went to the conference room.
"According to the Ambassador, Commander Chakotay's Shuttle was hit by enemy fire and crash landed somewhere on the southernmost continent," Tuvok said.
"Right in the middle of the war zone," I said.
"I'm afraid so," Tuvok said.
"Can we get a lock on him?" I said.
"Too much radiation from Weapons we can't scan the surface," Harry said.
"Which means, we don't know if he's still alive," Tuvok said.
"Why don't we assume that he still is?" I said.
"I should have gone with him," Tom said.
"It's not your fault Tom," I said. "We couldn't have anticipated this, What we've got to do now is figure out how to deal with it, B'Elanna try to modify the scanners, cut through the interference,"
"Aye Captain," B'Elanna said.
"Neelix, What do you know about this war?" I said.
"It's vicious, Ambassador Treen's people have been defending themselves against a particularly savage aggressor for more than a decade," Neelix said.
"Is the Ambassador willing to help us find Chakotay," I said.
"He willing but he may not be able," Neelix said.
"His resources are extremely limited and the situation on the surface is chaotic," Tuvok said.
"But he's assured me that if his troops do find Chakotay, He'll receive medical attention and be transported to the nearest command post," Neelix said.
"Let's hope he doesn't meet up with these savage aggressors first," B'Elanna said.
"Captain, Let me lead a team down there and bring him back," Tom said.
"I get how you're feeling Tom, But let's take it one step at a time," I said. "Tuvok Recontact Ambassador Treen, Ask for any Tactical support he's willing to provide, Maps, Weapons analyses, intelligence reports, Before I risk anyone else's life, I want to know what we're getting ourselves into," As we left.

I was in my ready room with Tom and Tuvok.
"No evident of Cellular residue on the shuttle wreckage, So there's a chance Chakotay survived the crash," I said.
"Well, Unfortunately the wreckage was found inside enemy territory," Tom said.
"So there is also a chance he's been captured or killed by the nemesis," Tuvok said.
"There you go looking on the bright side again Tuvok," Tom said.
"What's this nemesis," I said.
"It is the Term Ambassador Treen's people use to identify their enemy," Tuvok said.
"Apparently, They're vicious, they shoot without warning, Use Biochemical Weapons, Routinely massacre civilians, if we run into them It's safe to say they won't be hanging out a welcome sign," Tom said.
"I want a team on the surface as soon as possible," I said.
"I was hoping you'd say that, Tuvok lets get moving," Tom said.
"I must caution you both, My tactical analysis does not bode well for the success of such a mission, Given the situation in the battle zone, There is a very high probability that an away team will sustain heavy casualties," Tuvok said.
"Are you saying we should just abandon Chakotay," Tom said.
"On the contrary," Tuvok said.
"I suppose you've come up with an alternative plan?" I said.
"Indeed," Tuvok said. "I have concluded that the least risky course of action is for a single crew member to make the infiltration, accompanied by a commando unit that Ambassador Treen has agreed to provide,"
"Fine with me, When do I leave?" Tom said.
"Something tells me Tom that's not what Tuvok has in mind," I said.
"Naturally I am the logical person to carry out this mission," Tuvok said.
"Naturally," Tom said.
"Go," I said.
Then Tuvok left.
XXX
After a bit my door bell rang.
"Come in," I said as 7 came in.
"Captain, I was wondering it it was a good time to talk," 7 said.
"What about?" I said.
"Tuvok to Captain McCall," Tuvok said.
"Go ahead, Lt," I said.
"Ambassador Treen's men are ready to beam onboard," Tuvok said.
"On my way," I said. "Sorry looks like we are going have to talk another time,"
"Indeed," 7 said.
As I headed out and Met Tuvok as we went for a transporter room where Harry was.
"Are Ambassador Treen and his soldiers ready to beam onboard," I said.
"Aye Captain," Harry said.
"Energize," I said. "Welcome aboard Ambassador, Thank you for agreeing to help us find our crewman,"
"Your thanks are unnecessary, Captain," Treen said. "Any victim of our bloodthirsty nemesis the Vori will always find friends among the Kradin people,"
XXX
After Tuvok was down there, I was waiting on the Bridge for Tuvok to get back to us. Only hope Chakotay.
"Captain I'm getting a comlink from Tuvok," Harry said.
"Put him through," I said. "Go ahead, Tuvok,"
"Captain, I found Commander Chakotay we are ready to beam back," Tuvok said.
"Harry lock onto them and energize, Beam them to Sickbay," I said.
"Aye Captain," Harry said. "Transport complete they are in sickbay, Captain,"

"Captain's log Stardate 51096.5, Although Tuvok has managed to bring Chakotay safely back to the ship, It may be some time before his psychological wounds are fully healed. End log," I said.
Then Went down to Sickbay.
"My guess is the Vori used a combination of mind control techniques, including photometric projections, Heightened emotional stimuli and high sophisticated psychotropic manipulation. From the condition of your hypothalamus, I'd say they had you so mixed up they could have convinced you your own mother was a turnip," Doc said.
"Everything I experienced was some sort of simulation?" Chakotay said.
"Except for the battle you were fighting, when Tuvok found you, Apparently, attacking the simulated commandant marked your graduation from Basic Training," I said.
"And the Men I fought beside," Chakotay said. "None of them was real? Namon and Rafin weren't killed in front of me,"
"As far as we can tell, they were part of the simulation, The idea was to make you bond with your fellow soldiers as well as the villagers, So their deaths would enrage you," I said.
"Why me?" Chakotay said.
"Luck of the draw, You happened to b passing through their space and you were as promising a recruit as anyone else, We've been told the Vori have dozens of these training facilities where they conscript their own people and any aliens they're able to capture," I said.
"In short Commander, you've been subjected to a highly sophisticated form of propaganda," Doc said.
"Then the Kradin don't kill innocent Civilians," Chakotay said. "They don't desecrate the Vori's Dead,"
"I don't know, But the Kradin accuse the Vori of the same kinds of atrocities," I said.
"I cared about the Vori but I hated the Kradin, I wanted to kill every one of them" Chakotay said.
"Evidently, that was the point," I said.
"Captain Ambassador Treen would like to have a word with the Commander," Neelix said.
"I wish to tell you how pleased our people are to hear of your recovery, I'm only sorry we weren't able to rescue you sooner from our nemesis, Have I said something wrong?" Treen said.
"I don't know," Neelix said.
"If you'll excuse me, Captain," Chakotay said.
As I went after him.
"Chakotay?" I said.
"I wish it were as easy to stop hating as it was to start," Chakotay said headed on.
That's all for this chapter.
More to follow.
Stay tuned and safe.
Love Y'all
PEACE!
