Just a quick thank you to the readers of this story. I'm glad you are enjoying it! I wanted to also say that Sivert will be advancing a little fast in this story, to know what I mean. You'll see in this chapter. Also I might do small time skips just hourly ones for the next few chapters.

Enjoy!

Chapter 3, Skills?

A Month has passed since the day he beat Shizue.

Sivert learned much more about this new world and more of its history.

To be honest he was kind of enjoying his time here. Despite not knowing what's happening in the Last City and the Traveler Sivert believes everything is still fine.

He can still use the light meaning nothing happened with the Traveler, at least how he thinks..

He can also still use stasis which he doubts he will use unless really necessary. While he may have learned much more of this world and it's power system he still feels like something is missing...

Since he couldn't figure it out yet he decided to ask his wonderful, wise teacher. "Missing?" she asked as she poured a cup of tea for him.

"Yes.. I may be still learning I feel like something is missing.." Shizue stayed silent and sat down on the wooden chair. The two sat outside the academy, the sun shining on their faces. "Perhaps you mean a purpose?" Shizue said, Sivert's eyes widened. A purpose! That's right! He doesn't have a purpose!

"Judging from your reaction I guess I'm right." Shizue giggled she leaned closer to the table and grabbed her cup of tea.

She took a sip before placing it back on the table. "Yes.. you are right. I don't have a purpose." Sivert looked down at his hands that sat on his thighs. "Well what was your original purpose?" Shizue asked Sivert, he looked up at her. "To protect Humanity." His teacher smiled.

"I see.." Shizue hummed, Sivert interlaced his hands together. Gripping them tightly, then that's what he should do!

"You can protect Humanity here then. I don't encourage you to fight any longer since I believe you can take a different path but I also don't want you to feel empty, so if fighting is what your good at then feel free."

Shizue placed one leg over the other. "Then that's my purpose.. Shizue-sensei." He looked at his teacher with a serious expression on his face. After learning of Shizue's other world or at least their 'earth' he began to adopt their way of speaking a little. He couldn't help it since he was around them all the time.

Sivert stood up. "I will protect Humanity and all forms of life!" Sivert shouted with determination in his voice. Shizue chuckled and nodded.

The desire was the key he needed..

And..

It was unlocked.

{Confirmed. Unique Skill 'Gardeners Chosen' has been acquired.}

Sivert heard a voice, he looked around. There wasn't anyone besides Shizue and him.

"What's wrong?" Shizue asked, noticing his confused expression. "I heard a voice.. it said skill acquired." This time Shizue's eyes widened.

The words of the world.. She thought. "Sivert! You earned a skill!" Shizue shouted, surprising Sivert. "I have?" a skill?! He earned a skill! He's read about them but never knew how to get one.

Shizue was amazed! "What kind was it?" she leaned closer and asked. Before Sivert could answer. "Wait.." Shizue raised a finger at Sivert interrupting him. "Whisper it." she said quietly.

Sivert nodded and leaned closer to her ear. "Unique." Shizue's eyes widened once again. "Wait.. Sivert. Have you heard this voice before?" she asked, her excited tone changing to a worried one. Sivert shook his head. She sat back down with a Mind blown expression.

A unique skill! How did he get one before an Extra skill.. even before just a regular skill! He was advancing to Fast!

No this couldn't go on she was teaching him little things when he was advancing fast. Ever since he started learning, Sivert has been surpassing the others with his sword skills and combat techniques, of course it was because Sivert used to be a warrior so Shizue didn't think to much of it.

One thing she did notice is that he wasn't using any skills, At first Shizue only thought it was due to the fact that he didn't know how to use it but no! He never got one!

Now he has one.. and a unique skill. She needed to go harder on him. "Sivert.. prepare yourself." Shizue's already done this with Hinata.

So Sivert should have no problem.

"Got it."

A few troubling minutes later

Shizue took Sivert to a secluded location surrounded by a forest. It wasn't far from the Kingdom so they could get back quickly if needed. The reason Shizue took Sivert here is to train him, to be able to use the power of that skill but also hopefully acquire new ones.

He was strong yes but Shizue intended to make him powerful. Part of her did think it was too soon for him, but he's a warrior and if the stories of him fighting God's is true then this is nothing compared to what she has in store for him.

"Shizue-Sensei.." Sivert couldn't help but feel nervous. The glare she gave him was scary!

"Sivert, I care for you but if you do want to protect Humanity then I'm going to have to train you harder than any student I have ever before." She put on her mask and unsheathed her sword. Sivert's nervousness vanished.

He knew what this was.. heh.

Then he will gladly accept. He put on his helmet and put the hood of his cloak over it. He pulled out his rare grade rapier Shizue bought for him. When he was told the price he told her to return it! But Shizue didn't listen and forced him to keep it.

Sivert got into stance and prepared for this hellish training Shizue had for him.

An Hour Later

They clashed swords for what felt like an eternity for Sivert.

Shizue didn't hold back either she beat him to a pulp many times.

The reason she was doing this was quite simple. Shizue wanted Sivert to push past his limits and hopefully become an Enlightened Human or maybe a Saint.. or even a Hero just like the one that rescued her.

It seemed to be working a little as every time he fell down, he got back up stronger then before.

But he was still getting his ass kicked.

"Tch enough of this.." Sivert whispered under his helmet. What was he doing?! He was using this damn rapier when he could just use the light!

Sivert sheathed his rapier, he triple jumped into the air. In Shizue surprise, Sivert was enveloped by small flames. Three flaming knives appeared in both his hands.

He span around once while throwing knives at her.

Sadly for Sivert Shizue managed avoid them though, 'what was that power?!' she mentally asked herself.

It was destructive that was for sure even with fire resistance that would do some damage!

Sivert landed on the ground only to be kicked in the face by Shizue sending him crashing into a tree.

"Ow..." he mumbled under his helmet despite not feeling the pain deep down he swore he could, he stood up only to find the tip of Shizue's sword at his neck. "I yield.." he said with disappointment in his voice.

Shizue nodded and lowered her sword. "What was that power?" she asked him. It couldn't be magic and it couldn't be a skill if he only got one an hour ago.

"A power I wield that's called the light. It was from my 'earth'." Sivert told her. Shizue only hummed quietly at his answer, she wondered what his world was like even hoping she could see it one day.

"Well did you hear any voices?" she asked another question, Shizue knew it'd be to early but decided to still ask. "Only a few times when I almost got burned alive by your magic. Something called Fire Resistance, Pain Resistance, and another thing.. self-regeneration."

Shizue was amazed! He learned two resistances and self-regeneration! That was a skill rare among humans!

"I see.." Shizue caressed her chin as she delved deep into her thoughts. This shouldn't be possible.. she thought.

"Maybe it has something to do with that unique skill of his.." She whispered under her mask. It had to be, never has she seen a human acquire resistances or skills this quick. "Is something wrong?" Shizue was pulled from her thoughts when Sivert asked worryingly. "No, just thinking. Let's continue.." He nodded and pulled out his rapier.

After a few more hours of Sivert getting his ass kicked the two decided to call it a night and return to Ingrassia.

It only took a few minutes and thanks to Shizue's reputation they were able to pass the long line easily. Currently Sivert and Shizue sat on separate couches with Yuki and Hinata sitting next to them. Yuki sitting next to Sivert and Hinata sitting next to Shizue.

They told stories, drank alcohol, and ate wonderful food made by Shizue. It was something Sivert has never experienced before. Ever since he was resurrected all he's ever done is fight. To relax like this really felt like a one in a lifetime thing. It was paradise..

This is a really short chapter since it was just 'training chapter' sorry!

Let me give you a quick rundown on Sivert's unique skill 'Gardeners Chosen'

Usually a skill with these abilities wouldn't exist but I decided to spice it up and break some rules.

Effects-

Gardeners Blessing (The user will grow stronger at abnormal rates. Acquiring Skills and Acquiring Resistances when facing powerful foes.)

Gardeners Champion (Unknown?)

That's pretty much it! OP isn't it? Hehe I'm just joking, it won't be as Op as it sounds. Sivert will only acquire the skills through harsh challenges. Such as facing Shizue or any other beings that overpower him. Kind of like loot when you beat a boss you know? Hehe.

See you next Chapter!
