Lol as I was looking through this I realized the title of the Chapter is similar to the title of Season 2 episode 11's 'The Birth of a Demon Lord, During Rimuru's evolution.
Also while I know Misery is a Primordial, it doesn't show what her abilities are in the Light novel. Hell I was forced to check the fandom and still there isn't a small rundown on her abilities. It made this fight a little difficult to write.
So this is the best I know since she's a powerful Demon.. (Extremely powerful Nuclear magic, the ability to fly, Powerful defense barriers from physical and magical attacks, powerful physical strength, and incredibly fast speed.)
Along with a few resistances similar to other Primordial's. Such as Diablo.
Anyways I had to make this fight a short one, I planned on going at least 6,000 words but I decided not to because of the little information I have. And having Misery doing the same thing over and over and over would just bore someone out.
I promise to make future fights longer.
Anyways enjoy!
Chapter 10, The Birth of A Saint
Black Forest, North of Ingrassia
The two stood there, staring at each other. Focusing on each other.
In the blink of an eye they both vanished and appeared right before each other. The Young Wolf swung his glaive with all his power, The elemental spirits that surrounded Sivert aided him due to their love for the Hunter.
The Primordial Demon Vert or also known as Misery foolishly attempted to block it with her arms shielded by a multilayer barrier. As a punishment, they were both cut off by his weapon and Sivert quickly span around.
Throwing a powerful kick strengthened by the elementals spirits, knocking her back.
Misery rolled back over and landed on her feet. She looked down at her arms, "That weapon.." she whispered. It was powerful! It had to be at least mythical class! Or stronger, God class!
"And those cursed Spirits! Why is there so many drawn to him?!" she whispered again in frustration.
Their surrounding him like a protective shield, sure their low ranking spirits but there's to many of them and trying to take them out with him fighting her would be to difficult.
She would be surely be sent back to the spirit realm with her body being destroyed if she tried another foolish attack such as that! Plus her life belongs to her master.. it's not up to her to die.
But she was not going to lose to this human! It'd be shame she'd never get over! Her master would throw her away! And she wouldn't be able to live with herself..
So wanting to get this over quickly she called in help. Someone she could trust.
Sivert in the meanwhile was still amazed by how powerful this glaive is along with the Lesser spirits helping him! He turned his focus back onto Misery, the beautiful green haired demon suddenly smiled at Sivert.
"!"
He felt a large powerful aura behind him, but he was to slow to react. Sivert was struck by something in the back, it was a powerful force sending the Hunter flying towards Misery.
The Demon peer used this chance and jumped up throwing a powerful kick hitting him directly in the face, and sending him back towards the person who flanked him.
Sivert was grabbed by his ripped cape and thrown against a wall. Destroying the building it supported. He slowly healed his injuries and looked up at who attacked him.
Another women in a crimson maid outfit similar to the Primordial Vert's was standing before him. She had blue hair and blue eyes, even giving off the same presence as the Primordial demon he was just fighting.
"You've got to be kidding me.." Sivert whispered in anger, this was no joke! One Primordial was enough but two?! "My luck is really bad.." He was starting to lose hope in his chances of victory.
"I can't believe you called me here because of a human." The women spoke. She walked over towards her partner and helped heal her. "He is no ordinary human. Let's just exterminate him before Lord Guy finds out."
Misery told her, "Fine, Fine. You know I always said you should just get rid of that cult. Misery. You're getting to involved with humans." The women chuckled, "Shut up, Rain." The two turned their attention to Sivert who managed to stand up.
"You must be right if he was able to take an attack like that." Rain said, in slight surprise from his recovery. "Yes, be wary that weapon is dangerous. It managed to cut through my barriers. He is also surrounded by many elemental spirits."
Misery warned her partner. "Alright, let's just hurry up and kill him."
Sivert's grip on the handle of his glaive tightened.
This was no time for playing around, if he was going to get out of here alive he had to get serious. "God this feels like another Rhulk level threat." Sivert really wished he had a Fireteam to help him.
"!" The two Demon Peer's vanished and appeared right before Sivert, he raised his Glaive and swung but they both easily avoided it and threw a fast powerful punch to his stomach sending him flying high up into the air.
The two demons flew up to keep attacking. They moved to fast for him, his eyes could barely keep up with them! Rain appeared before him and punched his face, breaking his nose and his jaw.
He was sent higher into the air, Sivert looked up and spotted Misery floating there. She dove down legs first into his stomach, sending him down towards Rain.
The Blue Primordial punched him back up towards Misery and her partner kicked him back down towards her. Sivert was getting thrown and beat back and forth.
Aria watched in horror as her guardian was being tag teamed by two extremely powerful Demons. "?" As Sivert was flying up he was enveloped by Resonance energy and he disappeared before the two Primordials could continue their fun.
He reappeared above Misery, the Demon Peer spotted him immediately.
Black flames appeared in Misery's hands and she threw them at Sivert. The Hunter managed to heal his injuries quick enough and used his glaive to successfully nullify the attack by smacking the flame with his glaive.
He dashed right using a double jump, surprising Rain who was close to striking him with her fist. "There was nothing solid..?" she whispered in confusion.
The Demon peer changed course and appeared right before him, dropping a chop with her hand on Sivert that moved beyond the speed of sound.
The Hunter barely managed to block her chop with the glaive, sending a shockwave in the air. In an instant, Rain was hit with the power of her own attack and sent crashing down towards the Ground.
"It returned the attack..?" Sivert said in amazement as he fell down from the sky.
He turned around while free falling and spotted Misery down below him. Before he could make a move, she quickly grabbed him by the neck and cut off his right arm using her own and disabling his use of the glaive.
Sivert tried to remove her grip on his neck with his left hand but proved insufficient. Misery threw him up higher into the sky and as he fell down, just as Rain did. She threw a kick that moved beyond the speed of sound.
Breaking whatever armor he had left and sending the Hunter crashing down at fast speeds into the forest below them. Every bone in his body was being broken over and over as his helpless body crashed and slid on the ground, yet they were healing all over again. Even without feeling the pain his body was begging him to stop!
Sivert stopped sliding against the ground and slowly turned around. He looked up at the sky, where he could see Misery floating above him. Waiting for her partner.
Sivert's right arm finished regenerating. He's amazed his human body could handle all of this.. Yet he was filled with more and more energy but what's the point if it'll all go to waste by getting his ass kicked again and again by these two Primordial's!
The Lesser elemental spirits also seemed to be worn out as most of them slowly dispersed in his sights.
"Damnit it all.." Sivert whispered, he closed his eyes. He remembered his time in the last City.. his first kill on a dreg. Aria supporting him every way she could.
He lived a good life, at least in his eyes.. But sadly. He was going to die, even if Aria resurrects him. They'd just kill him again and again and eventually his ghost.
"Get up!" Aria shouted at him, Sivert didn't answer his ghost. "Sivert! Get up! This isn't you!"
He still did not respond.
"So that's it huh? Your just going to give up because one more joined the fight. This isn't you! The Real Sivert would stand up and continue fighting no matter who he fought! Every time he'd fall! He'd rise back up stronger! You said that to me yourself! You Promised!"
Sivert's eyes widened.
"And I believe you can! Because your my guardian! Because that's who Sivert the Hunter is!"
As soon as he heard those words. He awoke…
Power coursed through his veins, a ferocious power like none he had ever experienced. It was overwhelming..
The Hunter knew what this was! Aria's words, this fight he was currently fighting, his failure in rescuing Lockwood's grandson. His Goal of becoming stronger for the sake of Humanity.
It was all to form the key to shattering his own limitations!
Sivert was no longer just an enlightened. He had become a Saint!
Every cell in his body blended together, his spirit surpassing his physical form. Sivert could easily tell that his body was being remade! Transformed! The power was tremendous, possibly on par with an awakened Demon Lord. It had to be!
His body fully healed, and he stood up. Suddenly tons and tons of knowledge invaded his mind! His mind was running at crazy speeds! Any regular human would've been killed if their thoughts were going as fast as his!
"Skills…" he whispered in amazement! He could use his skills! He knew which skills he had and what they could do! Before he only knew how to use Ultra-speed regeneration but now he can use all of his skills.
"Wait aren't these two.. Hinata's?" his eyes widened once again.. "Nevermind." Sivert didn't care, if she still had her skills then it didn't matter right now.
He looked up at Misery who was floating in the air, next to her was Rain. The two glared down at him.
They aimed the palm of their hands at Sivert, they fired a bolt of magic from their hands aiming for Sivert. Exposed to the laws of nature, it transformed into a Nuclear Cannon. One neither called for with no casting time.
It just showed how perfect Demons are with magic.
Sivert's mind was running crazy once again, he used his skill mathematician and began to analyze the threat.
Immediately he came up with a solution.
Orange resonance energy appeared before him, and out of thin air came his Glaive. Floating, he directed it to face up. As soon as he did, the nuclear spells crashed into the glaive.
They were reflected back, much faster and stronger. The Primordial Demons easily avoided the attack and they flew down towards the ground.
The two landed next to each other and directed their focus on him. "Even if you have evolved. You stand no chance." Misery said, with a straight face and confidence in her voice.
Her words only made the Hunter Chuckle, he's heard that many times before. He looked down at his left arm, small sparks of blue lighting enveloped it. "Arc Light.." when did this come?! He thought.
Then he felt it! Sivert felt closer to the light! He felt like he could use it in so many more ways!
"You may be stronger and have more experience, but that won't stop me." Sivert looked back up at the two Primordials.
"I'll take you both on!" Appearing in his left hand was a long arc staff, radiating with powerful arc light. Capable of slicing through the strongest of attacks and defenses.
Sivert grabbed his floating glaive with his right hand. He felt both Light and Dark flow through him at levels he's never experienced before! Power such as this would kill a normal human from the inside out.
Sivert was no longer normal…
"Come then Human! Show us your true potential! Show us what Humanity is capable of!" Misery pointed at him and shouted.
Sivert clashed his Arc staff and Glaive together and prepared to fight.
He dashed towards the two Demons and they did the same.
Sivert dodged and avoided their extremely fast attacks by using his extra skill Thought Acceleration to slow down time and learn how to make use of his new abilities.
He was also analyzing the two demon Primordial's with Usurper. Managing to successfully copy a few of their abilities and be able to match their speed!
His mind was running so fast! And so was he! He moved faster than a sparrow! Being able to match a Primordial's very speed. This shouldn't be possible for a human! To be able to take on Two primordial demons.
Hell even force them onto the defensive!
Yet that's what he was doing!
Rain and Misery had to reinforce their multilayer barriers to defend themselves fully.
His first weapon was already dangerous but this staff was something else! Along with the remaining elemental spirits merging with his weapons, making them more dangerous!
The two were even surprised he was able to wield two weapons large as those and move as fast as he can right now. The Hunter swung his glaive and used his Arc Staff to deflect their magical attacks.
Sivert felt so much more power running through him! He was still awakening, soon he'd become a full-fledged Saint!
"Damn Human!" Rain shouted, having enough of this humiliation!
She jumped back to get distance, the Demon Peer stomped her right foot on the ground sending a shockwave through the ground and shaking the earth around them. Sivert triple jumped into the air and avoided the large incoming rocks that sprung from the ground.
He dashed down towards Rain who managed to barely avoid getting scarred from his Arc Staff. "Tch." Rain fired a nuclear spell from the nuclear cannon that appeared on her fist.
Sivert had naturally expected this after watching them fire multiple nuclear spells it was obvious. Plus Demons are much stronger with magic, courtesy to Shizue for teaching him that. Sivert jumped high in the air and avoided the dangerous spell.
He dashed down towards Rain once again, but as she tried to avoid his attack with his Arc staff. Sivert fainted the attack and quickly turned around, swinging his glaive in the process at unimaginable speeds.
Rain couldn't block, she could not do anything. He was to fast! And just like that..
Her head was cut off and her body collapsed along with the head landing next to it. Slowly it turned to dust and blew with the wind, it'd be a miracle if the Primordial could survive her master's wrath after he hears of this..
Sivert turned around and spotted Misery preparing a powerful nuclear spell. Since he already took one of them out, the arc staff in his left hand slowly disappeared.
He would go all out to finish her. Misery fired two powerful nuclear spells from the nuclear cannons on her fist. One was glowing gold and the other was a powerful black flame.
The Hunter didn't want to try blocking those even if it'd be successful! Those black flames added more danger to it!
Sivert closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Please don't send me off to some other dimension.." he whispered.
His entire body was enveloped by resonance energy, and Sivert vanished as the nuclear spells exploded on where he was previously standing. Burning the forest around it to ashes.
Misery looked around, even using magic sense. She couldn't find him, did she perhaps kill him.. "?" he suddenly reappeared a few feet in the air and landed gently on the burnt ground.
Sivert was breathing heavily, He's going to have to get used that teleportation thing..
"Rain may have been killed by you, but I will not." Misery was serious, the aura and magicules around her intensified. Any normal human would've been knocked out or even killed! This aura was powerful enough to burn them to ashes.
In an instant it looked as if Misery vanished but in truth she was just super-fast! Sivert could still see her movements though, much better then when he was an Enlightened.
The Demon Peer appeared before him and threw unbelievable fast kicks and Chops from her hands.
She wanted to force Sivert on the defensive, having him on the offensive wasn't good. Misery learned that after witnessing him kill Rain in a such short amount of time, he was too dangerous to be given the chance on the offensive.
Each time her powerful attacks clashed into his Glaive it sent a shockwave throughout the land around them.
Sivert could feel the power in her attacks! He jumped back trying to get some distance but Misery wasn't going to let him. As he jumped she jumped after him, dropping a powerful kick which forced the Hunter to block midair.
Once her leg clashed into his Glaive, in Misery's Surprise. The power she put in the kick was immediately sent back to her, sending the Demon flying back giving Sivert his chance.
He landed safely on the ground and tapped the bottom of his glaive on the ground.
Above him, Six flaming solar light swords mixed with destructive fire magic appeared. Floating over his head, the tip of the flaming swords aimed at their target. He aimed his glaive at Misery.
The Swords flew towards Misery at super-fast speeds!
There was no dodging them! Not by how fast they were going! Misery put up a defensive magical barrier, using all her remaining power.
They crashed into her barrier and exploded, destroying her barrier and soon parts of her body.
Misery fell face down, she slowly looked up at her attacker.
"Impossible.." she whispered. Her and Rain were both defeated, by a human no less!
Sivert walked up to Misery and looked down at her, with an evil glare in his eyes.
His pupils narrowed as he eyed his helpless prey.
"You may have won.. but what you have done here will attract the attention of my Master." Misery smirked in an evil manner.
"And he will have your soul." Sivert didn't respond, he held out the palm of his left hand towards her. Resonance energy enveloped his hand, he lowered it closer to her but stopped himself.
The Hunter sighed and the resonance energy dispersed and was replaced with white flames Sivert placed his hand on the top of her head, confusing the primordial in the process.
{Confirmed, Copying the Individual Demon Progenitor Vert's Abilities, Extra skills, skills, and resistances.}
Sivert took deep breaths, mentally praying it'd work.
{Unique Skill, Gardeners Champion was successful.}
"Thanks for those." Misery was confused from his words, suddenly his presence grew larger. He became more powerful?! How?! He had the aura of a Primordial!
Sivert raised his glaive and swung down, cutting Misery in half. Her body turned to dust and blew away with the wind.
Sivert felt Misery's power flow through him, it was crazy! His chest rose and fell as he took many deep breaths, trying to get accustomed to this new power.
Aria materialized in front of him, "Sivert.. you won!" she shouted and flew around him in a happily and excited manner. Her Guardian won! He was the best Guardian ever!
Sivert chuckled, it was a hard fight..
He's still surprised his body handled all those attacks and power. He's more surprised that he hasn't died yet, it must've been the spirits that helped him.
The Glaive in his hand vanished and Sivert fell down on his butt. "Wait a minute.." Aria began to scan her guardian for a few minutes until she stopped. "Sivert.. your body. Your no longer a human.. or at least fully human!"
His eyes widened, "Excuse me?" he asked. Making sure he heard that right.
"I'm saying you're no longer human!" Aria shouted this time. Sivert looked down at his hands.
Then he realized what it was..
"I became a Saint, meaning my Spiritual and Material Body are in the middle of merging." That could explain why it shows he's no longer human in her scans.
"Wait! A Saint?! Those incredible powerful beings we read on the books that can take on even True Demon Lords!"
Aria was mindblown! Her Guardian became so powerful! He really was the best..
"Yeah.." Sivert answered quietly. He only became an Enlightened Two Months ago!
He could still feel power flow through him, has he not fully evolved!?
{Merging Unique Skills, Usurper and Mathematician with Unique Skill Gardeners Chosen.)
{Merging successful, Unique Skill Gardeners Chosen has Evolved in to Ultimate Skill Gardener, Lord of The Light.}
Sivert stayed silent, slowly taking in what he just heard. "I- I have an Ultimate skill." He whispered with an amazed expression on his face. His mind was slowly taking in what it was capable of..
He was amazed.
Aria stayed silent, she couldn't say anything.
Her Guardian is becoming too powerful, as much as it made her proud. It was still good to be cautious. While he may no longer be fully human the power within him is dangerous, she hoped that he wouldn't change from the amount of power running through him.
Aria was pulled from her thoughts as she noticed a difference occur within Sivert. "Woah.." he was like a shining light.
His presence was divine.. beautiful.. pure. The magicules that touched him were purified in an instant. The spirits surrounding her guardian were drawn closer.
He was Holy in all ways.
Sivert stood up, the New Born Saint walked into the forest away from the ruins of his previous battle. His armor was a mess, he didn't know how he was going to rebuild it.. it may not be possible at all.
The Hunter arrived at the Fortress and entered through the gates, he walked through the large hole he sent Misery through and entered the chambers where it all started.
He desperately looked around and finally found it. Sivert dropped to his knees and picked up the broken gun in front of him, caressing the rest of it gently. It pained his heart seeing it like this.
"I'm so sorry." Sivert whispered with sadness in his voice.
The Ace of Spades was important to him, just how it was important to the last wielder. He slowly picked up the remaining pieces and stowed them in a small pouch, he tied the pouch up tightly and hooked it to his damaged belt.
Sivert stood up and walked over to his destroyed Sniper Rifle, The Adored. There was no repairing it. The weapon was completely destroyed.. Sivert crouched down and placed his hand on it.
Still, he'd keep it. His guns were a good source of memory from his past world. He picked up the pieces of his rifle and carried them safely under his arms.
The Hunter stood up, now he had to finish his mission.
Find the Body.. of the Young boy who he was asked to save…
Continent of Eternal Ice, Palace of White Ice
His Crimson eyes were painful.. they had nothing but disappointment in them. "Explain yourselves." He spoke to the two kneeling maids before him, Misery and Rain.
"The Human was abnormal.. Powerful. He used abilities that I believe are foreign to this world." Misery spoke up, her maid outfit was in ruins. Courtesy to her Master as a punishment.
She was amazed she and Rain survived his wrath.
"Foreign? Either way that doesn't explain why you both lost to a human. Foreign powers could just mean different magic which you two are experts on."
Her master was Guy Crimson. One of the first three Demon Lords and also one of the strongest in the world. Not even the True Dragons were a threat to him, if the creator of the world was to be resurrected though. Then it'd be a different story.
"He evolved in to a Saint before we could finish him off. He also wielded a powerful weapon, Mythical Grade I believe. It reflected our magic and psychical attacks back to us." Misery's head dropped as she looked down in shame.
Guy crossed his arms, "A Saint Huh?" the Crimson Demon Lord, also known as the Primordial Red 'Rouge' chuckled in amusement. This was interesting for him, a mere Saint defeating two Demon Peers.
"You two are forgiven, but if you fail like that again I will kill you both. Your failure is going to give us Primordial's a bad name now, I just hope those humans don't get cocky."
While Guy's minions do keep the Western Nations in check and use the Northern Coast as their playground. He knows after the humans learn of his subordinates failure, it'll boost their morale.
He couldn't have that..
"There is one more thing, my Lord. The Human, I believe he copied my abilities. Before he finished me, his presence grew larger. As if he felt like a fellow Primal." Guy's eyes widened in amazement. He focused on Misery who told that to him.
"Copied you? He didn't copy your unique's right?" Misery shook her head. "It is possible. He might have also Copied my Resistances and lower skills along with my psychical and defensive abilities." Guy was even more interested!
Hell copying skills shouldn't even be possible but..
This guy somehow pulled it off!
He laughed quietly, for the first time in years! His heart was racing and it was from his interest in this Human!
"I would like to meet this Human soon. Find out who he is and any other information on him."
The Crimson Demon Lord only hoped this Human wouldn't disappointment him.
Or else he would kill him…
Many Light Years Away
The being stared at it's target. The many worlds floated around it as it stared, "You had one last piece left and you sent it somewhere else." It spoke with the sound of many different voices at once.
"You believe he will protect you… No." The being placed the fingers of its hands together.
"He will not, He is the Heir to the Throne. He will be the new King." It spread its hands.
"You say he is your last hope. Of assuring your survival, your last move will try and escape to that world with him." The being shook it's head slowly.
"We will not allow it not even the smallest piece of you will make it towards him, we will put an end to you before you bring death to that world along with the cosmos around it."
The being was becoming desperate, it could not allow this move. It's target was already preparing its last move.
To jump the borders of space and time, passing through the hole it created in dimensional space to it's last piece of the game board and reside in it..
Such a Trump card would use up to much power and force it to go dormant once again.
To even think it had such a card..
But it'll be protected for centuries as it's last hope would grow stronger.. and stronger until it was ready to wake and continue bringing death.
It could not allow that! Especially when the Heir hasn't fully embraced the Darkness.
Without thinking any longer.
It's many voices commanded the Black Fleet.
And the mission to give the children of Sol the Salvation they cry out for, would begin…
End!
It was a Short chapter like I said.
That's the end of the 'Rise of a Hero' arc.
I will give a rundown on more of Sivert's abilities once again in the next chapter but here's a rundown on his ultimate skill 'Lord of Light, Gardener.'
(Author's Note) (He won't be corrupted by Demon power sources or the power sources of any beings deemed evil. Any power he copies will be cleansed with his Light.)
Lord of Light, Gardener
Rule Breaker (Allows him to break regular power limits and possess more than one type of power factor such as Hero Eggs or Demon Lord Seeds, doubling the power he receives from them.)
Blessing of the Gardener (A multilayered and dimensional barrier powered by his will. It was an absolute defense.)
Thought Acceleration. (Let's user extend their thoughts by up to a million times.)
Argos (Allows him to analyze his targets and assess their abilities and to copy their very skills and resistance along with their raw power depending if the target has a weak will or they are weaker then the user.)
That's it!
See you next Chapter and Arc.
Next Arc, Burning Light
