Believe me, I am as eager to write CALZONA'S reconciliation as you guys are to read. But I believe that if I just jump to that it won't do justice to the story. They have been through a lot and they have lots of baggage. They need to find their way back… which will take time. So be patient my dears… our favourite couple will be together soon and this time it will be forever.

Just to make thing clear... this chapter is the continuation of Chapter 1 as we came out of flashback in the last chapter.
Hey! Penny said meekly as she entered the kitchen the next morning and saw Callie sitting at the kitchen island drinking coffee.
"Hi," Callie replied but didn't say anything else.
"Callie" …
"Penny" Both started simultaneously and chuckled on this coincident.
"You go," Callie said.
"Look, I am sorry about yesterday… I ….um… was in a foul mood and then you started talking about Arizona… and I got even more pissed of… I know it was unreasonable …. Really sorry" Penny explained
"No, I am sorry … it was my fault… I should have understood your point." Callie countered
Penny smiled moved forward and hugged Callie. "we are okay... right?"
"We are okay" Callie replied and kissed Penny chastely.
"Why didn't you sleep in our bed?" Penny asked tenderly.
"You were sleeping in the middle of bed… I didn't want to wake you up" Callie replied with a little smile
Penny chuckled and came closer to stand between Callie's leg. She kissed her with intensity and as the kiss became passionate, penny broke the kiss and said, "I am going to take a bath…Want to join?"
"Hell yeah!" Callie beamed and followed penny to the bathroom.
After their "long" shower they decided to go out and enjoy the day together. They spent the whole day shopping, eating and talking. Everything was back to normal. Everything was okay... they were okay. It was a weekend spent well.

"Hey baby, how are you?" Callie exclaimed over the video call with Sofia.
"Mommy! I am amazing because… we ate pizza today" Sofia replied all at once
"Wow! I am so jealous… I just ate a sandwich" Callie replied with a pout and mock frown.
"But Mamma said… you don't like sandwich" Sofia replied casually
"What? When did mamma tell you that?" Callie asked puzzled.
"Yesterday, mama was telling me the story of your first date," Sofia said
Callie didn't say anything, instead, she started reminiscing the said day.
Callie: …I am broke, and I am exhausted Arizona. I'm working in the ER because I need the money. 6 people died on my watch today and I am fried. I wanted to stay in last night. I thought I thought that last night would be the night for us. you know? Our night. But you wanted to go to a fancy restaurant. I can't do that. I can't.
Arizona: It's ok. It's ok. Hey, so, we'll stay in, and… we'll… eat sandwiches.
Callie: You don't even like sandwiches.
Arizona: But I like the girl who has the sandwiches. Ok?
Callie: Ok… No, you know what... I don't like sandwiches either. I like pizza.
Arizona: I like pizza too.
"Mommy...are you listening to me?" Sofia exclaimed and brought Callie back from her thoughts.
"Yeah, sorry honey… what were you saying...?" Callie said as she continued to talk to Sofia.
After telling every detail of the day Sofia gave iPad to Arizona and went to sleep.
"Hey," Arizona said faintly
"Hey, you look tired… everything okay?" Callie enquired
"Yeah it's been a hectic 2 weeks" Arizona replied taking a deep breath of exhaustion.
"What happened?" Callie asked further
"You wanna know? It's a long story … I mean… ?" Arizona said hesitantly
"Penny is not at home… and I have off tomorrow and nothing else to do now… so please tell me something interesting or shocking or anything" Callie replied with a smile
"Okie… so brace yourself, because I have some exciting stories to tell you" Arizona begins
"I am all ears," Callie said excitedly
"I delivered 1 pound 8 ounces baby …. pistol" Arizona started the story
Callie looked at Arizona perplexed.
"a few weeks back, we got a young girl who collapsed on the road… she was having stomach-ache and while I was checking on her there was a shot fired "
Callie gasped "oh my god! Who shot"?
"Turned out, she was smuggling a small pistol to the prison … in her vagina," Arizona said dramatically.
"what the fuck…. Noooo" Callie exclaimed with wide eyes.
"I know right? She was doing it for her stupid boyfriend or something "Arizona giggled.
"things people do for love," Callie said sarcastically and laughed.
"ooo...ohhh.. you remember, Mathew?"
"April's ex-fiancé, right?" Callie said
"yeah, he came a few days back and with his pregnant wife Karen. She delivered a healthy girl but sadly she could make it. I had to remove her uterus due to DIC and HELLP syndrome. She survived the surgery, but shortly afterwards, she went into PEA and died on my table" Arizona said sadly.
"Oh god! So sorry…" Callie said woefully.
"April took it hard and went on all drinking and partying mode… I, on the other hand, decided to start a study on maternal mortality"
"yeah?... what about that?" Callie asked
"You know the mortality ratio in the US is 19 per 100,000 live birth and only 2 in Italy? We are doing something wrong…So… I am working on that study with Carina, she is OB-GYN and Italian"
"That's Amazing Arizona… all the best for that…" Callie said, not giving any thought at the mention of Italian Doctor. "so that's why you look so tired cause you have been studying?"
"Oh no… you won't believe what happened today" Arizona exclaimed and sat back attentively "one of the patients got diagnosed with breast cancer at an oncology centre but when we did the scan at Grey Sloan… it came all clear… it was looking shady...so, I and Owen went to that centre and posed as husband and wife and…"
"wait... wait… wait… you and Owen posed as husband and wife? Why?" Callie said amused
"cause we wanted to check if that doctor was legit or not... don't interrupt" Arizona replied very fast and continued her story excitedly "… so we went, and I had a scan…and… on his screen, I saw lesion on my left breast"
"WHAT! Arizona… no… you have…No!" Callie yelled in shock.
for a second Callie's breath hitched in her throat... "Lesions? It means… its… Breast Cancer?... No, it can't be".
"NO, NO, NO… lemme finish… we came back and rechecked at Grey Sloan and came to know that that doctor was a fraud and I am totally fine" Arizona clarified quickly.
"Oh My God! …Arizona… why couldn't you lead with that? you scared me to death..." Callie said releasing the breath, she didn't know she was holding. "Thank god… but... but that doctor… shit… how can he do such a heinous act… it's a crime…tell me you reported him".
"Yeah, Owen took care of it… but for like 1 hour, I was so scared… I couldn't stop thinking about Sofia and…and…it was awful" Arizona said sounding exhausted.
"I know… I can understand… my heart almost stopped when so said that you found lesions on your scan… I can only imagine how hard it must be for you" Callie said sympathetically.
"hmm… so, were the stories interesting enough" Arizona asked with a grin.
"Oh yeah… very juicy aaand petrifying … but, Grey Sloan, hands down is THE most happening hospital in the whole country… New York Pres is just boring… only work and patient... no drama" Callie said laughing.
Arizona through her head back laughing, her eyes caught the clock on the wall which was showing 23:53 "Woah! Look at that, it's almost midnight… we have been talking for a long time now"
"Oh! Yeah… I didn't realize the time… you need to sleep… so… good night I guess" Callie said
"Yeah, I have an early shift tomorrow" Arizona replied
"It was great talking to you Arizona," Callie said hesitantly
"Yeah, same here Callie… Good night" Arizona said with a smile.
As they disconnected the call, they both went to sleep with a smile. After almost 4 years they both talked like old friends, without any hesitation and awkwardness.

Since, their fight around 2 months back, both Penny and Callie have been working hard on their relationship. They were considerate and loving towards each other and were spending time together. Callie was avoided talking about anything related to Arizona, Sofia or Seattle. Penny, on the other hand, was having a Good time at the hospital, so her mood at home was also upright. They would go on date and would communicate more. Callie was happy that their relationship was finally out of the puddle. Finally, she has a stable relationship which can grow further into something deeper and better. Penny was making her happy, almost as happy as Arizona did… almost.

After moving to New York, Penny had her reservation about Callie. She though one day or another, Callie will regret her decision of moving here and her fears were coming true as their relationship was getting strained. But since the last 2 month, they were coming along quite well, and Penny was finally sure that they are gonna make it.
Today was exceptionally a good day, she made a major breakthrough in her research and has received praise from everyone as well as a promise from the chief about an attending position at Preminger Research Center. She couldn't wait to share this news with Callie and to celebrate with her.
She entered the house practically bouncing on her feet and found Callie in the kitchen.
"Hey, babe!" Penny said beamingly and kissed Callie with some energy.
"Woah… What's that for?" Callie said with a wide smile
"Nothing… Can't I kiss my beautiful girlfriend" Penny said with a smirk
"Of course, you can and you should do it more often" Callie chuckled and gave her another kiss.
"mmm… smells amazing… what are you making?" Penny asked while peeking in the pan
"Fettuccine Alfredo…. Garlic Bread… Cesar salad…and…. Some pinot grigio rose" Callie replied with a smile.
"Wow... you are amazing… just the best" Penny said as she gave a little peck on Callie's cheek. "I'll just have a quick shower and we'll have your delicious meal… and I have something to tell you too… I'll be right back"
"Okay… "

"Oh my God! Callie This is amazing" Penny moaned as she took the first bite of her pasta "you, without a doubt are the best cook in the world".
Callie laughed a little "Well, thank you for the appreciation… by the way, what were you going to tell me".
"Ooohhh yeah… we got the FDA approval for my research and now I can start Phase 1 of human trial. Penny explained, squealing with joy
"That's Great…Amazing" Callie said smiling widely.
"Really Callie?… finally, I can feel that all of my hard work has paid off… I am so happy I can't even tell you… and Chief Henderson told me that after my residency, I'll have the attending position in the hospital" Penny said with pride.
"That's great honey… you deserve it" Callie replied with a smile.
"So… you talked to Sofia?" Penny asked after some time
"Yeah… I talked to her yesterday, today she went on a field trip from school, so couldn't talk" Callie replied than she remembered about her conversation with Arizona "Ohh! Arizona is starting a study on maternal mortality in the US…"
Penny didn't say anything and just nodded while sipping her wine and Callie continued without noticing the change on Penny's face.
"I mean… sometimes she amazes me… not only she is an excellent Peads surgeon, but she also mastered one of the most exclusive specialities, basically overnight…I mean fellowship like that takes time and she did it in less than 6 months… that's impressive! saving 100 of children before they are even born and now she is doing this study… this… this… this maternal mortality research to save mom during childbirth. Can you believe it… I don't know where she draws her energy from but she is just so full of life…on the top of that is a great Mom… and… and a Great Human Being… she is… she is just Awesome" Callie chuckled as she said the last line imitating Arizona.
When she didn't receive any response from Penny, Callie came back to her senses and realized that Penny had a scowling look on her face.
"Ah… m sorry …I was telling you… don't be mad" Callie chuckled nervously.
Penny drunk the last of the wine and looked at Callie with stabbing eyes. "Seriously? … a full-fledged speech on the how great Dr Arizona Robbins is just because she is doing some study, while you literally, said 4 words for my FDA approval?" Penny's tone was getting higher.
Callie realized what she just did and didn't know what to say, which infuriated Penny even more
"NOW YOU DECIDED TO KEEP QUIET? … BUT YOU THINK IT WAS APPROPRIATE TO SING PRAISES ABOUT YOUR SUPERHERO EX-WIFE, RIGHT AFTER I TOLD YOU ABOUT MY ACCOMPLISHMENT?" by this time penny was shouting on the top of her voice.
"Good God! Penny, calm down… I am sorry… I didn't realize…" Callie tried to justify.
"THAT'S THE PROBLEM, YOU NEVER REALIZE… YOU NEVER REALIZE WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND WHOM YOU ARE HURTING EXCEPT YOURSELF… YOU HAVE DONE THAT IS ALL YOUR RELATION AND YOU ARE STILL DOING THAT" Penny spat back
This comment enraged Callie and she shouted back losing her temper "WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?"
"You know what Callie; I can't do this with you anymore… I going to sleep… have a great night" penny said sarcastically.
"OH! … NO..NO..NO… YOU ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE AFTER SAYING WHAT YOU JUST SAID" Callie yelled "I NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG IN MY RELATIONSHIPS…. I WAS CHEATED ON… OR GOT LEFT IN THE PARKING LOT... I NEVER..."
And suddenly all the restrain Penny had was broken.
"Oh, for the love of God stop playing the victim card… YOU ARE NOT A SAINT DR CALLIOPE TORRES"
OHHH! I think the time you all have been waiting for is here…
