This is a short chapter since it's about the festival that Sivert promised Hinata he'd take her to.

Chapter 12, The Holiday Festival

Kingdom of Ingrassia, Light Estate

It's been two weeks after receiving his two spirits, ever since then Sivert has been nonstop training at his home. He was honing his new abilities very quickly, even coming up with many of his own different Arts.

He's been mastering spirit magic as well.

He was basically a Demons Worst Nightmare right now….

The Hunter also began to master his Glaive, Lubrae's Ruin. Sivert was starting to hone his dark powers and Light powers in ways he never imagined. Even managing to mix them with his skills and magic.

The outcome of this training was powerful.

It was a peaceful two weeks and snow began to fall as the holiday came closer.

Sivert was currently training in his front yard, continuing to master his glaive and other equipment.

He wore a black training shirt with black joggers and boots. It was day and snow began to fall. He feels lucky that he has his own home now, he can do whatever he wants.

No Shizue to scold him about his living habits. Such as hardly eating or not wearing the right equipment for the right weather. She has visited the past couple of days to help him with his two spirits.

He learned of the spirit she currently had. Only it was like a Feral animal and uncontrollable unlike his. The Hunter wanted to help her but didn't know what to do.

Sivert swung his glaive with one hand and moved around smoothly. His footwork was smooth and fast as he swung his glaive in many different ways. His eyes were also closed.

He was training with his extra skill 'universal sense' Sivert had a whole 360 view of him. Making it hard for someone to try and flank him from behind. He trained like this so if he ever gets blinded he could still fight.

"?" Sivert stopped himself in his tracks, he opened his eyes and turned around. His eyes focused on the front gate of his home. There were a few people in white robes and a whole carriage behind them.

There were men wearing armor and uniforms. "The Western Holy Church..?" Sivert whispered.

The Hunter walked down the pathway towards the front gate of his home. His glaive still in his hands. He opened the gates of his home and was greeted by an old man in a black robe.

"I am Nicholas Cardinal of the Western Holy Church. Sir, Light Sivert. You have been selected by the Seven Luminaries and The Pope Emperor to become a Paladin." Sivert felt the gazes of the seven men standing behind Nicholas.

They wore white robes and masks that covered their faces. "Can I ask why I've been chosen?" The seven Luminaries behind Nicholas looked at each other before looking back at him.

"Hehe.. The God Luminas has bestowed us with a revelation. It says a new Hero has been bestowed from the heavens. Therefor you have been chosen by The God and now us."

One of the men spoke before Nicholas could. Sivert eyed the man with suspicion.

"Sorry, you got the wrong guy. I don't believe in all of that." Sivert said before turning around. His words made the crusaders escorting the large royal carriage shocked and angry.

"Your name is Sivert Light Correct? The one who defeated two Primordial Demons by himself, is that not enough to prove you were chosen? Or was that all a hoax?" Nicholas asked Sivert, stopping the Hunter in his tracks.

Sivert sighed, "It's true, I defeated the two Demon Primordial's Vert and Bleu." Now his words made the knights and paladins even more shocked!

"But that was all me. I wasn't blessed by your god, so if you'll excuse me." Sivert reached out and grabbed his gate, ready to close it.

"We have a record of you. An otherworlder student of the Flame conqueror correct? You were a warrior from another world, one who harbors foreign powers."

Sivert mentally cursed whoever gave them this information. "All the more reason why your god didn't choose me. I'm from another world." He turned back around and told them.

The Seven Luminaries only laughed. "You believe you're a stray. You are not, it's obvious The God Luminas has brought you here to help save humanity from the Ten Great Demon Lords."

The Hunter was starting to get annoyed. He hates when his peaceful mornings are ruined, "My answer is still no." Sivert stared the Nicholas dead in the eyes as he said that.

The area around them became silent. "How about a challenge then?" One of the Luminaries asked Sivert. "Challenge?" He asked him.

Sivert didn't know what they could possibly offer that'll change his mind.

"Take the tests of Heroes we have prepared for you. If you pass we will allow you to live on with your life. If you fail, you will become a paladin of the Western Holy Church and train under us."

They each pointed at him, Sivert balled his left hand into a fist. He would decline but.. if these Seven Luminaries do train new Heroes then he'll take up their offer. Sivert's been getting tired of training by himself and has been wanting some action.

"Can I take them after this week goes by? I want to spend time with my friends." Sivert calmly asked them.

"Of course. We will be here to pick you up." They chuckled and walked back towards their carriage. Nicholas bowed in respect before following them.

The Holy Church carriage turned around and left his estate. The Hunter sighed, "?" he spotted a fellow student walking towards him as the carriage passed them.

Her short black hair and beautiful features were recognizable. She wore a black sweater and scarf with white pants and winter boots.

"Who were they?" Hinata walked up to Sivert and asked him, with her hands in her pockets.

"The Western Holy Church trying to recruit me." Sivert answered her. Hinata turned around and watched the carriage leave, "Did you accept?"

He shook his head, "Sort of made a deal instead. They want to train me into becoming a Hero." Hinata turned back to face him.

"You a Hero? Hah." Hinata chuckled, Sivert ignored it. The young women stopped and looked down at the weapon in his right hand.

She examined it carefully, Hinata could tell it was well made and powerful. Suddenly it was enveloped by an orange energy and vanished, leaving her confused. Where did it go?

"So, what are you doing here?" Sivert crossed his arms and asked her. Hinata looked back up at him and smiled.

"You.. promised to take me to the festival." She quickly replied.

"Is it today?" She only answered him with a small nod. "Alright, just give me a few minutes to get ready." Sivert gave her a gentle smile before running off to his home.

Hinata placed a hand on top of her chest.. she didn't know how to react to these feelings. Sivert was kind and caring for her even if he's slow on realizing it. She thought after telling him her life story he'd avoid her but he never did. It's why she began to develop these feelings.

But Deep down, she knew she wasn't worthy of him. She just wanted to get rid of this pain on her heart that he caused.

"?" Hinata's eye caught a glimpse of a small paper on the ground next to edge of the gate. She walked over and picked it up, reading the contents.

"The Western Holy Church.." she whispered..

A Few Minutes Later

Sivert came back outside with a black sweater and scarf. He wore black pants and boots. "Done." He told her.

Hinata examined his outfit.. he looked good. "What?" Sivert asked, noticing her staring. His fellow student was pulled from her thoughts, "Nothing, let's go." She turned around and walked down the pathway away from his estate.

Sivert quickly locked the gate and followed her.

The two walked side by side quietly towards the streets of Ingrassia. The roofs of the buildings were filled with snow.

What interested Sivert the most were all the food stands, the entire kingdom had to be celebrating this festival. There were many families out enjoying the many stands on the side of the streets.

Sivert smiled at the sight, it was beautiful. It was peaceful. It was something he wished could last forever. "?" Sivert felt something on his right hand. He looked down and saw Hinata's fingers slowly touching his hand.

She was walking closer to him..

He looked up at her but it seemed she didn't notice. Hinata was also enjoying the peaceful sight he just was. The Hunter decided to leave her be, "So, where do you want to go?"

Sivert asked her, Hinata turned her head to look at him. Her eyes widened and the young girl reached in her pocket for something. She pulled out a small piece of rolled up paper and unrolled it.

She quickly read through it and placed it back in her pocket. Hinata grabbed his right hand with her left and interlaced the fingers. "This way, quickly." She dragged him down the street.

Sivert chuckled quietly, Hinata was still young. Around 17 years old, yet she was a strong fighter. But he liked her nice and childish side, he's just glad she doesn't give him the cold glares as she used to.

Hinata stopped dragging him and the two stood at the front of a bakery. "There's a Christmas cake I want you to try. It's from my world." She said with a bright smile.

Sivert only gave her a light nod and followed her inside. The inside of the bakery was empty but nicely decorated. "Oh? Hinata, it's been some time." A tall man with a beefy body and mustache wearing a baker uniform walked up to them from behind a counter.

"Yoshida it has. I came to introduce my friend, Sivert." Hinata said while bowing in respect. The baker gave Sivert a bright smile and held out his hand. The Hunter returned the smile and shook his hand.

"He's an otherworlder like us but from a different world." Hinata told the baker. The Baker's smile grew wider, "I see, so I'm guessing you came for the Christmas cake?"

He asked, his question surprised Hinata and Sivert. "You knew?" Yoshida gave Hinata a light nod. The young women was amazed.. was she that predictable? Hinata did come here a lot but to think he already knew.

"I'll have it right away."

A Few Minutes Later

Sivert picked up a piece he cut for himself. The Hunter took a small bite out his piece of Christmas cake. Hinata was studying his face for some sort of reaction. He didn't have one, only keeping a straight face and continuing to chew.

He took another bite and there was still no reaction! "Well?" Hinata finally spoke up. Sivert turned his attention away from the cake. "Oh, it's good." He said while finishing his piece.

Hinata balled her hands into fist, "That's all?" she asked while trying to hide her anger. She wanted to punch him.. this cake was the best! And all she got was a simply 'Oh, it's good.' It was a huge sin!

"Like I said it's good. I've had better so they don't come close to thi-" Sivert quickly side stepped out the way, avoiding a knife thrown at him. It stabbed into the wall behind him.

"Really?" he crossed his arms in disbelief while giving Hinata a disappointed expression. She didn't answer and went back to eating her piece of cake. "Cold.." Sivert whispered.

She was scary!

The two ate their cake silently and finished. Thanks to Hinata's multiple visits she was a favored customer so there was no payment required.

After the two went out back to the streets Hinata was starting to become more talkative. Her mood from earlier was returning.

She took him to many stands and shops, buying many things.

The two were currently waiting in line at a shop to buy gifts for Shizue and Yuki. Hinata had a smile while Sivert.. had a small frown.

She was holding his hand.. tightly. Hinata grabbed his hand and interlaced her fingers with his after her mood returned. She hasn't let go ever since.

The Hunter could hear his two spirits gossiping about him and Hinata. He quickly shut them up by threating to get rid of them, the two spirits didn't want to lose him so they immediately obeyed.

Hinata and Sivert bought many gifts, which he carried. Of course he didn't mind buying and carrying the gifts because the more gifts they buy! The more money he can blow!

"Eh.." Sivert took a peek inside his bag of coins, it didn't even take 10% of his cash! While he wanted to buy more gifts it was starting to turn dark and Hinata wanted to take him to see some lights. So before they did the two went back to their homes so they didn't have to keep carrying them.

Later on Sivert met her at the academy where she waited for him.

Hinata led him to the outskirts of the Kingdom near the walls. Sivert was mostly curious on what she wanted to show him, plain lights couldn't be so interesting right?

They snuck past the Knights and stood on top of the walls. "Look." Hinata reached out and pointed at the night sky. Sivert looked up..

He regret doubting her.

This was beautiful.. He saw something similar to this during his days back on his earth. Something Aria called the 'Northern Lights'.

Sivert's eyes couldn't turn from this beautiful view. "So you like lights, but you don't like cake?" Hinata noticed his gazing and asked him.

The Hunter didn't look at her but would still answer. "There's a difference between food and sightseeing." He answered her. Hinata rolled her eyes and tightened her grip on his right hand.

She could feel his warmth..

He looked so cute when gazing off. "Want to sit down?" Hinata asked. Sivert answered with a small nod.

They sat down on the stone floor and looked up. "Thank you for this." Hinata looked down at his hand she held. Sivert didn't want to look away from these lights in the sky.

He was capturing every moment. "No problem." Sivert said, he looked down, giving her a gentle smile before looking back up.

"You really don't know how to read the situation." Hinata said, Sivert didn't know what she meant. He turned to look at her..

His eyes widened as his face was grabbed and pulled closer to Hinata. Their lips collided in for a passionate kiss!

Sivert's whole world just flipped upside down from this sudden movement from her! Aria in the meantime was snickering from this sight! This is beautiful!

Her Guardian was to stunned to even react and push her back. The kiss lasted a few seconds. Hinata slowly pulled back and stared into his eyes.

"I love you.." she said with a huge blush on her cheeks.

The Hunter didn't know what to say.. or even do.

He's never been confessed to before. Well besides a few love letters from fellow female adventurers.

But he currently didn't have the right mindset to fully understand.

"Hinata.. Your kidding rig-" Before he even could fully answer, Hinata's expression suddenly changed to a sad one. She looked down.. "You really are a breaker of a thousand hearts." The young women whispered.

Sivert titled his head in slight confusion. Was he really? It was only a title a bunch of people gave him.

"Sorry." She released his face and backed up from him. Hinata stood up and backed away farther.

"Thank you again, Sivert. This really was the best time I've ever had, in my life." She said while hiding her face with her hands.

"But at least give me an answer the next time we meet." He raised an eyebrow this time out of confusion.

Noticing he wasn't going to say anything again. Hinata sighed, he was a total airhead..

Why does she love an idiot like him.. she mentally asked herself.

"See you again.." She gave him a small wave before walking away and leaving him alone.

Sivert looked down at his hands, "That was.. strange." He whispered, the hunter was still confused about all of this.

He placed a finger on his lips, she took his first kiss.

Not that he cared but why? He decided to ignore it, Hinata was strange after all. So this was probably just one big tease..

The Young Wolf went back to sightseeing and enjoying the beautiful lights…

well he wanted to..

"You IDIOT!" He was scolded by Aria for the rest of night... the Hunter did not get any sleep that night.

The Next Day Shizue came with a very sad expression to his estate and told him about Hinata leaving saying she was going to join the Holy Church to become a paladin and help Humanity.

Shizue pleaded to Sivert to go after her..

But he wasn't one to get involved into other people's business. The Hunter decided to leave it be, he wasn't her father or sibling.

He was only a friend and he knew this was the right thing to do.

Hinata was strong after all she could handle herself.

Sadly he had to deal with a sad Shizue.. which was something that broke his heart.

He never liked seeing his teacher sad so he spent some time with her to cheer her up and managed to finally convince her that Hinata would be fine.

With Shizue's sadness being replaced with her previous smile.

Sivert had one last thing to worry about..

The Test the Seven Luminaries are going to give him.

End!

Nothing much but to give you a quick reason why Hinata left.

In the Novels she was afraid of her attachments and becoming to close with everyone which is why she left. So this is similar to that, she was too afraid of getting closer to Sivert and her confessing her love was something she did to get rid of the pain on her heart.

Anyways see you next chapter!
