Once upon a time.
(Scott POV)
The Delta Flyer was in Trouble They got hit by an Iron storm. Sam, Tuvok and Tom were on Board, We were on out way to get to them. They are trying to make repairs but another one was coming in.
Everyone else were in the Conference room.
"Mayday, Mayday, Delta Flyer to Voyager, We need assistance, Warp Drive is... Impulse power is down, Thrusters only, Ion storms damaged our primary systems, Life support is failing, We're searching for an emergency landing site, We require immediate," Tuvok said. Before Chakotay took it off.
"That was their last Transmission, We haven't been able to raise them since," Chakotay said.
"If they're looking for a place to land, They must be in pretty Bad shape," B'Elanna said.
"Anything on long range Sensors," I said.
"We lost their signature when the second Ion storm hit, but we've triangulated the coordinates of the distress call," Harry said. "They've entered a planetary system about .6 lightyears from here,"
"Problem is, there's another Ion Storm, A level 5 Blocking our Path," B'Elanna said.
"Level 5, We been through worse, Let's batten down the hatches and reinforce the shields, We're not going to let a little bad weather stand in our way," I said. "Chakotay Set a course Fast as we can go,"
"What about Naomi," Neelix said.
"I guess someone is going have to explain to her why her Mother's not back," Chakotay said.
"Maybe we shouldn't tell her anything," Neelix said.
"Why not?" I said.
"She's a very sensitive girl, I don't want o alarm her unnecessarily," Neelix said. "With any luck, we'll have her Mother back before she starts to worry,"
"Well, you're close to her than anyone, I'm inclined to let you take the lead on this," I said.
"Thanks, Captain," Neelix said.
"All right, Consider it your mission to keep her occupied, Get Clara and Chloe to help you," I said.
"Aye captain," Neelix said.
"Dismissed," I said.

"Captain's log Supplemental, We've weather the Ion Storm and tracked the Delta Flyer to an Class M planetoid, End log,"
"I'm picking up a residual impulse signature in the upper atmosphere," Harry said.
"Try to pinpoint their location," Chakotay said.
"How's Naomi," I said.
"She missed her mother, But I don't think she suspects anything, I was just about to take her to the holodeck for some more storytelling," Neelix said.
"Call me an optimist, Neelix, But I'm still counting on a happy ending," I said.
"Me, Too," Neelix said.
"Got it, The Impulse wake leads to the Northern hemisphere Coordinates 121 mark 16," Harry said.
"Any sign of them," I said.
"Plasma fires, Hull fragments, either they vaporized on impact or they're buried beneath the surface," Harry said.
"Any life signs," Neelix said.
Maybe they beamed out before the crash," Neelix said.
"Harry, Anything," I said.
"Nothing," Harry said.
"We built the Delta Flyer to take a lot of punishment, I'm betting it held together, Commander, Take rescue teams down to that crater, If Sensors can't find them, We'll have to do it the hard way," I said.
"Harry," Chakotay said.

We were still trying to find them, But nothing yet. As Neelix got to the Bridge.
"Lt, Get me an update from Beta team, They haven't checked in for over an hour," I said
"Coffee anyone," Neelix said. "Captain,"
"No, thanks, I've had enough, one more cup and I'll go to Warp," I said.
"Any news," Neelix said.
"I'm afraid not," I said.
"No debris, No life signs," Neelix said.
"We've got 3 teams beneath the surface and so far, nothing," I said.
"Well so much for that happy ending," Neelix said.
"We'll turn that planetoid inside out if we have to, But I think we have to be prepared for the worse, Maybe it's time you told Naomi," I said.
"No, not yet," Neelix said.
"She's an astute girl, She must be aware that something's wrong by now," I said.
"She's been asking a lot of tough questions, Why hasn't her mother filed a status report, What if she's in trouble, But I've got a big day planned for her tomorrow, Plenty of distractions, She won't have time to be worried," Neelix said.
"Your mission was to keep her occupied, not to lie to her," I said. "First thing in the morning I want you to explain the situation,"
"I don't think that's such a good idea," Neelix said.
"Why not?" I said.
"Like I told you, She's sensitive," Neelix said.
"All the more reason to answer her questions," I said.
"With all due respect, Captain, I'm her godfather, I know what's best for her," Neelix said.
"Neelix," I said headed into the Ready room. "I realize you care about Naomi, And you are only trying to protect her, but you've got to tell her the Truth,"
"Good morning, Naomi, Would you like some papalla juice with your cereal? And oh by the way Your Mother is buried under 30 kilotons of Rock," Neelix said.
"Neelix," I said.
"When we know something for sure, When we find her mother Alive or Dead, I'll tell her then," Neelix said. "Not before,"
"If you can't do it, I will," I said.
"You don't have the right," Neelix said. "You don't understand what's at stake here, When you were her age, You were safe an sound on Earth with 2 healthy parents to take care of you, You never had to worry about the possibility of being alone, You take it from Me, You wouldn't have like it,"
"Actually Only had my Mum. My Dick of a Dad pissed off when I was 4. So yeah I know You must identify with Naomi's situation, almost 6 years ago, I was fighting for my life and my friends, Together, And we won every time," I said.
"When my family was killed, I lost everything, I still have nightmares, It hasn't been easy, I don't want Naomi to go through what I did," Neelix said.
"I understand, and you're right, but this situation is different," I said.
"How so?" Neelix said.
"Naomi Has you, Neelix she has to be told, But I knew she'll be better off having you here to help her through it, And this entire crew," I said.
"First thing in the morning," Neelix said.
"We've got a few hours until then, Why don't you come back on the bridge, Give us a hand," I said.
As we headed out.

"Chakotay to Voyager," Chakotay said. "We found what looks like a piece of the starboard nacelle,"
"Any Sign of the Delta Flyer," I said.
"Not yet," Chakotay said.
"Captain the Cavern has collapsed ahead of us, However, I am reading a hull signature behind the debris," 7 said.
"The Flyer," I said.
"I'll need to take a closer reading," 7 said.
"Do it, I want Alpha and Beta Teams to search for survivors, Tell Sickbay to stand by got heavy Casualties, Let's just hope they all fine," I said.
"Naomi," Neelix said as I saw her there. "Naomi," As she went into the Turbolift.
"Go," I said. As Neelix looked at me as He went for the Turbolift.
"Chakotay to Voyager," Chakotay said.
"Go ahead," I said.
"We think we've found the shuttle, But we need to dig it out, Have all teams rendezvous at my coordinates," Chakotay said.
"Acknowledged," I said. "Voyager to Away Teams, Head For Commander Chakotay location Immediately,"

"Voyager to Chakotay," I said.
"Go ahead," Chakotay said.
"We've got another Ion Storm approaching, When it hits the planetoid, You entire cavern is going to destabilize," I said.
"Just a few more meters and we'll be close enough to beam out the Shuttle," Chakotay said. "How long before the storm hits,"
"6 minutes, Make the most of it, Because it's all you've got," I said.
"The Storm is moving in," Harry said. "Shields down to 86%,"
"Keep a transporter lock on the away team," I said. "We'll give them till the last second, Helm, Lay in a course out of here, Standby to engage at Warp 2,"
"Aye sir," She said.
"Chakotay to Voyager," Chakotay said.
"Go ahead," I said.
"Pattern Enhancers are in place," Chakotay said. "We're ready to transport the Flyer,"
"Harry," I said.
"Locking on," Harry said. "They're in the shuttle bay, Everyone is back,"
"Helm, Engage," I said.
As we went to Warp.

"Captain's Log Supplemental, Sam has recovered from her injuries And the Delta Flyer though battered is intact, Repairs are on the way to the Delta Flyer, But I'm just glad we got everyone back, End log," I said.
As I got into the holodeck without anyone seeing me.
As I saw Naomi and them head on.
"Here's to happy endings," I said.
"Captain," Neelix said.
"Just checking on my future Captain's Assistant," I said.
"Well, right now, she's off to conquer a giant beetle," Neelix said.
"oh Sounds like a dangerous mission," I said.
"She can handle it," Neelix said.
"She's a courageous girl," I said.
"Oh," Neelix said.
