Been a while. I'd like to apologize for that, I've been busy with some things and well I had to keep scrapping this chapter over and over because I wasn't satisfied with it.
But finally I created something I'm satisfied with.
Like I said in the end of the last chapter.
Rimuru will be introduced in this Chapter.
Let me tell you since most of you are no doubt Anime watchers or manga readers.
I'm going to be writing Rimuru similar to how he is from the Light Novels. In the Light Novels he can sometimes be a little cold and dark. So if your questioning why he's like this well now you know. But I will be mixing his personality from the Anime with the Light Novel.
Anyways this is the last chapter of the Arc and Sivert's story.
I'll still be writing from his perspective but were going to be following the Tensura Timeline now.
That doesn't mean I'm dropping the Destiny crossover.
There will be more Guardians, or maybe some old enemies? Who knows.
It's just going to be mixed in.
Oh! Were starting off with when Tempest became an actual nation. So like a few months after the defeat of the Orc Lord and the arrival of The Demon Lord Milim.
Now..
Today's Set! (Young Ahamkara's Spine Gauntlets with Augmented Wish Ornament. Pathfinders Tunic, Lucky Pants with Fortunate Beast Ornament and Luxe cloak. Amethyst Veil Shader on all and no helmet.)
I know..
Why am I using two exotics for armor?
Well I couldn't resist how cool it looked so I decided to just do it. I promise this is the only time I'll do this, or perhaps the last time I even use exotic armor for Sivert.
Yes.. as the story progresses he will drop the Hunter fashion and adopt a new one. Why? Well Sivert's just going to be tired from the Guardian fashion. He's going to be wearing new things and his old armor will just be remnants of his past. Memories..
Oh did you guys enjoy the Lightfall reveal? I sure did. 108$ were drained from my wallet as I immediately preordered the annual pass. I'm hyped! This new season is cool to.
I might be slow in updates because well I'm going to be doing donuts in the parking lot with my new Ketch!
Enjoy!
Chapter 19, His Regret.. and Submission..
2 years after the defeat of the Witness
Kingdom of Ingrassia
The streets were crowded, chatter was heard everywhere. Most of the civilians were just commoners but there was one particular individual that stood out from the crowd.
His strange armor drew attention but he paid no attention to those who stared.
The Hunter was to busy looking at something interesting through the window of a fancy shop.
A necklace..
Expensive..
Really expensive.
10,000 gold coins.
It's no wonder it's still here after 8 years. No one could afford it.
Except rich nobles and the King of Ingrassia himself.
And of course Sivert.
The necklace was made out of pure gold with a scarlet gem surrounded by a golden frame.
The best part, the frame could be engraved!
Of course for an extra 5,000 gold coins but he didn't care!
He would get this for her..
He hasn't seen her since she trained the fireteam for him. That was 2 years ago.
Sivert stopped staring, he walked to the entrance of the shop and entered.
It was fancy..
Those who were in here wore fancy suits and dresses.
Sivert really stood out..
The Hunter walked quickly towards the necklace.
It looked even better when not looking through a window.
"Ahem. Sir are you perhaps interested in that fine jewelry?" An employee wearing a fancy tuxedo walked up and asked him.
Sivert turned around.
"Yes I am. I want to buy it right now." He shoved a pouch full of gold coins into the employee's chest.
The employee opened the pouch and looked inside.
He liked what he saw.
"Oh my.. very well let me clean it up for you. Would you like to engrave it?"
Sivert quickly nodded, he was like an excited child.
"What would you like it to say?"
Now..
He hasn't thought of that.
Sivert hummed as he thought of something to engrave.
Then he got it!
"Light's Gift." It was perfect!
"Ah wonderful. Let us go engrave it then."
A Few Minutes Later
Sivert walked out of the shop with a small black box in his hand. He placed it in his pocket and jogged through the crowded streets of Ingrassia. Now he was going to go and enhance this necklace with a little spell of Light.
A protection spell for her..
He was heading towards the exit of the Kingdom. It was a quick jog but once Sivert saw the huge line he decided to break the rules again.
Sivert ran for the walls and past the Holy Knight's.
"Hey!" they shouted at him but Sivert ignored them.
The Hunter triple jumped and climbed the rest of the way up. He gave the guards a small wave before fully hopping off the wall.
"Aria." He called the name of his companion.
"Right on it!" she responded with excitement in her voice.
Sivert landed on a transmatted sparrow (Burnout Sparrow.)
He started the engine and took off into the distance.
It felt good to ride a sparrow..
The wind blowing against his face. The speed.
It was just perfect!
The Hunter rode off towards his home.
A Secluded forest, North of Ingrassia
He rode down the trail, Sivert smirked as he spotted his home in the distance.
A Temple built into a mountain. He had it built because..
"Sivert! Remember no sparrows!"
A fellow Hunter of his who went by the name Riv shouted at him. He was a human male.
"Sorry!" Sivert hopped off his sparrow and it dematerialized.
"You created the rule and your breaking it? Man.." Riv crossed his arms and shook his head.
"Hey you know how it is. Riding a sparrow is better than riding a horse. Or hell even the Wyverns Astraea tamed can't compare to the joy of a sparrow." Sivert replied.
Riv sighed, he didn't even know why he questioned it because Sivert was right.
"Well I'll brief you as usual since you were gone all morning. Sim and his Titans fought off against another monster attack on that village not to far. They still can't figure out where those monsters are coming from. They'd like you to help when you can."
Sivert gave him a light nod.
"Oh and.." Riv leaned closer to Sivert.
"Aurora and her Warlocks just came in not to long ago. They found something your really going to want to look at. There in the meeting room." He whispered.
"Got it.." Sivert gave Riv a small wave before walking up the steps to the Temple.
Sivert had to have this Temple built once his.. estate was being filled up.
He didn't know how this happened or why there were so many but after defeating the Witness, Sivert started finding more Fireteams out in the Western Nations a year later.
He kept finding them every few months
Eventually Sivert had to have a Temple secretly built from the world, one that radiated Light due to the many Lightbearer's who reside in it.
This Temple housed training rooms, a Garden next to a large library. Bedrooms for Guardians, a large kitchen and cafeteria.
And a large room that's used as a crucible arena.
Having this place built drained Sivert's wallet especially keeping it a secret from the world. However the Hunter just blew the rest of his money on the necklace he just bought.
His dream came true, he was broke! He couldn't wait to feel the joy of being rewarded again from an adventure.
Currently there consisted of 23 guardians in this Temple.
8 Titans, 6 Hunters and 9 Warlocks.
They were all human... but What amazed Sivert the most though is that there were a few reincarnations. Mostly humans but there were a few unlucky ones.
Either way Sivert took them all in. He taught them, explained to them what happened to the Last City and about his Victory against the Witness and it's Disciples.
Though it took time to accept their fate..
They all got used to this fantasy world, luckily most of them were already accustomed.
Hell they all grew fond of it.
Though there were some downsides for them, like Sivert's restrictions.
Like no sparrows and a limit to the guns used in each fireteam.
This is because the Hunter didn't want city tech getting into the hands of the Western Nations or anybody other than a guardian.
After creating these restrictions the guardians rallied under Sivert.
They accepted him as their leader. Much to his dislike, he wasn't capable of leading.. so he mostly leaves the leading to Lyra or Aurora.
But as time passed.
A few Guardian's dropped their old weapons and armor.
Adopting this world's armor and weapons and going between a mix of each. Some mixed their armor with knight like armor. They even use melee weapons and guns at the same.
This little group grew bigger with mostly everyone being apart of it.
And eventually..
They created a name.
Knights of Light.
They serve Sivert and the Will of the Light. They vow to protect him at all cost, for they see him as he holds the Traveler.
Now while the Guardians created this group.
There were some like Kaguya who didn't rally under this banner.
Those who lost their Light.. and never were able to reclaim it were granted the opportunity to wield Darkness by Sivert.
Few took this opportunity others didn't. The reincarnated Warlock Kaguya on the other hand did, while she may have had her Light.
She wanted to wield Darkness because she believed she wouldn't get stronger without stepping in new territory.
And to Sivert's surprise she was an expert, Kaguya proved that she was strong enough to wield it. In mind and Body.
So Sivert let her commune with the statute in his Pyramid ship.
The Pyramid ship created a large Vex portal, drawing Vex in.
They invaded Sivert's Throne World.
Kaguya slaughtered most of them using her new Darkness abilities.
She honed herself and became a sharp blade.
But there was to much.
So Sivert dealt with it himself..
He decided to do something else instead of killing them as usual..
Sivert unleashed his wrath as the Taken King. Taking them all. The Vex sent minds but those were taken as well.
Eventually they created a massive and powerful Axis Mind.
But Sivert took that just like he took the others. However unlike the others, he let this one retain a little bit of freewill because he wanted to experiment on it.
Once that was all done Sivert destroyed the portal and he gifted Kaguya a glaive as a congratulations glaive.
(Edge of Intent Glaive.)
After this he began personally training her.
The other guardians who accepted his offer to wield Darkness failed in being able to wield it.
It amazed Sivert that even with his and others use of Darkness, the Guardians were still united under him. They trusted him..
Overall the power they held together was immense but they were still weak and their numbers were low as well.
Most of them became Enlightened's acquiring common skills or if lucky, a unique skill. Hell some even already had unique skills.
Some of them even became Adventurer's while others just roam around the Western Nations to give their support to those in need.
Life was good!
Sivert walked up to the entrance, he was greeted by a few of his fellow Hunters who were chatting over a monster they fought. He returned the greetings and entered the Temple. The interior was like that of a royal palace.
He walked down the main Hallway, far ahead was a set of two doors that led inside the meeting room.
Sivert opened the doors and closed them once he entered.
Inside was Aurora in her white robes standing next to a large table with two of her fellow Warlocks Lyra and human Warlock Eve stood on both her rears.
"Did you use your sparrow again?" Aurora asked, noticing Sivert's happy expression.
Sivert chuckled in embarrassment.
He was caught.
The Warlock rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. Your in charge so you do you. I don't know if Riv told you but we found something interesting.. and dangerous." Her tone changed to serious one.
Sivert's expression changed and showed curiosity.
Aurora turned around. "Come in."
A door not to far behind Aurora opened.
Two Titans wearing black and white armor came in. They carried a large cage that was covered up.
"We found this near Dragons Peak when we were guarding Astraea as she was trying to see if she can tame Arch Dragons in the Canaat Mountains."
Since they had no ships, Sivert permitted the use of monster taming to those interested or those who were capable.
Astraea was one who was talented in taming monsters due to a unique skill of hers. 'Beast Master.' was it's name.
it allowed her to easily tame monsters. The monster she's been taming most were Wyverns However she has yet to tame a dragon.
Overall it was a useful skill that gave the guardians good transport.
Sivert heard growling within the cage.
The two Titans removed the covers.
Sivert's eyes widened in shock.
"Yeah.. that was my reaction to. I don't know how this bastard got here but I'm afraid there might be more.." Aurora said.
Lyra and Eve nodded in agreement.
Sivert walked around the table to get closer look.
The creature inside stopped growling as he got closer..
It lowered it's head.. submitting to the mighty presence he gave off.
"No.."
It was a Scorn!
A Raider..
Aurora was right.. this is dangerous.
"You said you found it near the Dragons Peak? Did you guys search the area after capturing him?"
They all gave him small nods of confirmation.
"We hoped you could look into it's mind to see if it has information." Lyra explained, her eyebrows raised slightly out of surprise as she noticed the Raider's change in actions once Sivert got closer.
It was bowing before him. Submitting...
"And by the looks of it.. it's being less hostile to you. Being obedient." She pointed out.
Sivert noticed that as well..
He crouched down and opened the cage.
The Hunter reached out his right hand placing it on the Raider's helmet, it stayed still. Not moving. He closed his eyes and utilized his ultimate skill that was connected with the Darkness.
He was going to look through it's memories...
He opened his eyes, Sivert looked around.
He was in a large room. The walls were identical to that of the interior of a Pyramid ship.
Sivert turned his attention to what was happening in front of him.
An army of Scorn…
There were Hundreds. They were kneeling.
Kneeling with them was a larger Scorn.
It looked like a Baron.
They all kneeled before the Witness itself.
"It is done. The Light is no more but.. there is still much to do. For all of you.."
The Witness turned around to face them.
"We gift you the opportunity to start anew. You crave destruction and chaos. You will find it in that world.. that universe. Go.." The Witness stepped aside.
Behind it was a large jet black portal.
The same portal Sivert used to go back to Sol..
The army of Scorn led by this Baron walked through the portal and it deactivated.
The area changed. Sivert was no longer in the room but a large cave.
A cave the Scorn have set up in, they were building structures underground and were sending scouts up to the surface.
"What.." Sivert couldn't..
He didn't know how to process this.
'How long were they here?!' he asked himself mentally.
Sivert journeyed through more memories and he learned more.
The Scorn were sent here by the Witness as he just seen. However they arrived deep underground. The Baron has been leading them since. He's been doing a good job to. Keeping them hidden, sending scouts to the surface. Gathering more information about this world. Once they learned enough they began preparing to attack a human nation.
His eyes opened and he pulled his hand back.
The others in the meeting room noticed Sivert's shocked expression.
"Well?" Aurora was the first to ask.
"You said Dragons Peak correct?" Sivert answered with a question.
"Yeah in a dangerous ravine."
The Hunter nodded and stood up.
He drew his Ace and shot the Raider in the head.
Killing it and putting it out of its misery.
"Hey! What the hell?! We needed him to learn where he came fro-"
"They were sent here by the Witness. An army led by a strong Baron. They built an underground Fortress and their preparing to attack a Human Nation." He interrupted Aurora.
Sivert's words shocked everyone in the room.
"Well what Nation?" they asked in unison.
"The Eastern Empire.."
Their worry vanished.
"Oh then just let them. I mean won't the Empire destroy them?" Eve asked with a slight chuckle after.
"Maybe but we can't allow Scorn Tech to end up in the Empire's hand's.." Lyra answered.
Sivert and the others agreed.
"Alright then I want a team sent to the area you found the Raider in. I don't know the exact location since I couldn't get a good look but I'm sure it's around the border of the Empire and Dragon's peak. Lead them. I'll accomp-"
There was a knock on the door The two doors opened and Riv walked in.
"Sivert. That uh.. Raven of yours came carrying a big letter." The Hunter said while waving a large letter around in his hand.
Sivert took a Raven in not to long ago.
It was stationed in Ingrassia so if Shizue or Yuki wanted to send letters to Sivert they could or any other people Sivert trusted like merchants who aided him in the past.
Sivert walked over to the Hunter who handed him the letter.
"Thank you."
Riv nodded before walking out.
Sivert opened the letter.
"So let's continue. Who should I bring?" Aurora asked.
"Bring Sim and Ivor-"
Sivert stopped after reading from who the letter was from.
It was a Merchant from the East who wrote the letter. One Sivert was acquainted with and trusted since he helped him a lot. Even giving him a lot of books from the royal Libraries there.
The contents…
Killed every bit of happiness Sivert had.
The letter slowly fell from his hand as he let go of it.
"Sim and Ivory? I was thinking we send a 6 man team." Aurora told him.
Sivert didn't respond.
"Did you go deaf?" Aurora got a little annoyed from the silence.
Sivert again didn't answer.
He held a small picture book in his right hand. It was sent with the letter.
'The Monster Princess' was the title of the book..
There was a girl on the cover.
Who resembled Shizue.
Only younger and shorter..
There was a small note on the cover.
'The monster killed and took her form. He resides in the Jura Forest and leads a nation.' It read.
The whole world stopped for the Hunter.
He couldn't hear anything.
He couldn't feel anything.
Sivert hasn't felt like this since..
Since Cayde's death.
Only it felt worse..
"Hey."
Sivert was brought back to his senses by Lyra who was waving her hand in front of him.
"You alright?" his friend asked, noticing his expression.
He started into her silver eyes..
"No.." Sivert shook his head. He turned his attention back to Aurora.
"Do what you wish. Just lead a fireteam and find the cave entrance where it came from." Sivert told her before turning around.
He placed his left hand on the door handle and opened it.
"Your not coming with?"
Sivert stopped from Aurora's question.
He gave her a small glance.
"I have something to do.."
His voice was cold along with his eyes.
His once bright aura was gone.
Replaced with overwhelming Darkness..
He was pissed..
Sivert walked out.
Aurora dropped to the floor and gasped for air along with the others in the room. They coughed non stop for a few seconds.
His presence overwhelmed them. They couldn't even breathe!
"What the hell.." Lyra was going to punch him for that when he got back!
A Few Hours Later
Jura Forest.
He walked slowly down the rode that led to a large town.
Or.. more like a Nation.
Sivert thought this.. monster nation would be ugly.
But now that he was seeing it in person.
It was a beautiful sight. He was surprised he never heard of it before.
However he didn't care about the beauty of it or where it came from.
Only for the one who ruled it..
"Sivert.. maybe you should wait a minute. Calm down." His ghost Aria recommended.
He ignored her. He ignored every word that escaped her mouth.
Not even his two Spirits could reason with him..
Aria sighed, she decided to stay silent and hope he wouldn't do anything rash.
Sivert entered the Town.
He was greeted with smiles and welcomes from many different monsters. But that all changed once they felt his presence.
Darkness started engulfing everything wherever he walked.
It choked the civilians forcing them to flee.
The streets were cleared up in an instant.
Sivert kept walking down the street, he eventually came upon the center of the town.
He stopped walking once he felt a presence behind him. Multiple in fact.
The Hunter turned around.
Four figures.
One was his target, the other three were..
"Kijin?" he whispered in surprise.
He shook his head. It didn't matter..
If they interfered they'd die to.
His golden eyes stared at the one who stole her appearance. Her face..
He had no right!
No right!
It disgusted Sivert.
His target had long blue and silver like hair and blue and black garments with a white scarf around his neck.
The Hunter's pupils narrowed on his prey.
"Hello! Uh welcome to Tempest. I'm Rimuru Tempest! I'm glad to see another human visit but.. I'm not fully sure if you're here on friendly terms or hostile terms." The now named Rimuru said with a light chuckle after.
"Hostile.. and it'll be quick." Sivert replied as he drew his Ace from his holster.
In doing so he surprised Rimuru due to Its design. He never saw it but he was told of it..
Then Rimuru realized who this was!
Sivert starting loading it with ammunition.
"Wait are yo-"
"First I'd like to know why you killed her. Why did you kill someone so kind and gentle? Then depending on your answer.. I'll decide if I want to kill you slowly or.. perhaps just take your will and experiment on you." Sivert interrupted and asked Rimuru.
Yes..
Taking him doesn't sound so bad. He'll be a useful experiment.
He finished loading his Ace.
"Wait your misunderstanding things. Your Shizue-san's prized student Sivert right? She told me a lot about you. Let me explain what happened." Rimuru held up both his hands. Trying to handle this without violence.
Sivert was silent.
He sighed..
"Don't speak her name.." he whispered in anger while raising his Ace, aiming it at Rimuru.
Sivert slowly pushed on the trigger.
The bullet was fast!
Rimuru barely avoided it.
His left cheek was blown off though.
Rimuru jumped back and his face healed.
"You're not a Majin.. so what are you?" Sivert asked while walking forward and preparing to fire another shot. That wasn't blood...
"Great Rimuru is a slime!"
The three Kijin jumped to defend their leader and attacked Sivert at the same time.
"No Wait!" Rimuru tried to stop his three subordinates. He didn't want them getting involved!
Once again.
It was quick.
Sivert fan fired three shots in the blink of an eye.
Striking the three Kijin.
They fell down next to him. Severely injured.
"Holy magic?.." one of them whispered as they felt their strength quickly deplete.
Holy bullets.
It's why Sivert was loading his Ace. He was changing the ammunition.
Holy bullets are extremely effective against monsters. The only downside is they take a lot of time to make.
So Sivert didn't have a lot of bullets.
"Stop!" Rimuru shouted. Fearing for his subordinates lives.
Sivert ignored his shout.
He called forth his Light, Solar flames enveloped his body and his Ace became a Golden Gun.
Rimuru sensed danger.
He drew his katana and raised it..
Sivert fired three shots at the slime.
Rimuru barely avoided two and deflected the last back towards Sivert, however the Hunter sidestepped out of the way. Avoiding it.
The slime noticed a portion of his katana slowly melting.
"I can't deflect any more of those." he whispered. "Not just because of it's power but it's speed..."
He got lucky on that first one.
Rimuru needed to get close, he wouldn't last any longer in a ranged battle!
Black flames engulfed his Katana.
He charged the Hunter.
Sivert fired more shots only this time Rimuru turned into his slime form to avoid them.
He turned back to his Human form and jumped up with his flaming katana raised.
Rimuru brought it down, intending to strike Sivert down.
The Hunter holstered his Ace at fast speeds and drew a knife. It was enveloped in solar flames as well.
He blocked the katana with his knife.
Rimuru stared into his dark golden eyes. Full of rage..
The two exchanged blows, Rimuru couldn't believe Sivert was casually wielding a knife like that! Especially against his flaming katana.
He moved so smooth and fast!
The Hunter was pushing Rimuru back with speed and force, Rimuru could barely keep up, He needed an opening!
"There!" He let out a shout, Rimuru pulled his blade up, cutting the Hunter's cheek. It would've been worse but Sivert jumped back in time.
Sivert placed his hand on his wound.
He was holding back..
Why? He mentally asked himself.
He could easily rip him apart right now but he..
He could bring out his full strength as of now.
He got rid of the black flames with stasis and it healed. He turned his attention back to Rimuru and lunged at him.
Their blades clashed.
"Listen to me! I didn't kill her! She was dying. Shizue wanted me to e- Urk!" Rimuru was interrupted, forcefully grabbed by the throat.
He felt fear run through his body. Sivert really wanted to kill him!
And judging from his secret companion's analyzation.
Rimuru was no match..
Sivert overpowered him. That strike Rimuru got on him was just luck!
Sivert threw the slime towards a building, he crashed into it and destroyed it.
The Hunter pulled out a few more knives, engulfing them with solar flames and throwing them at Rimuru.
Rimuru quickly recovered and held out his left hand, utilizing his unique skill 'Gluttony.'
A dark purple energy shot out from Rimuru's palm and engulfed the explosive knives Sivert threw at him. Consuming them.
Sivert pulled out a solar grenade along with another knife.
He threw the grenade first.
Rimuru was going to consume the grenade again but it changed directions!
'He hit it with the knife?!' Rimuru was amazed from the stunt.
Sivert threw the knife, putting more force into it then when he threw the grenade. The Knife hit the grenade mid air, changing it's direction. The Grenade flew over Rimuru and exploded above him.
The explosion knocked the slime back.
"Ow.. AHH!" Rimuru shouted, he was on Fire!
Of course he didn't feel it but it still scared him! Especially when it was burning through his new coat!
He quickly removed his blue coat and threw it away.
Sivert used this chance and threw another batch of solar grenades.
Rimuru ran and avoided the explosions.
The grenades destroyed the buildings.
Raging flames were rising, engulfing other buildings.
Destroying the center of the town.
"Stop already! Shizue said you were kind! That you would understand! Did she lie?!" Rimuru asked in a loud angered tone.
"You have no right to speak her name."
Sivert truly didn't want to put any more effort because if he did he'd level this entire place.
But it seemed there was no choice.
He held out his right hand, summoning his Lubrae's ruin glaive.
Rimuru gulped at the sight of the large black ominous weapon. It had to be heavy! Yet Sivert was just wielding it with one hand.
"I'm going to kill you now." Were the words Rimuru heard from the Hunter.
He was going to continue to try and convince him to stop but halted.
Sivert moved quick!
Rimuru brought up his katana, blocking the heavy attack from the large weapon.
There was so much force!
{Warning! Fleeing is highly recommended!}
Rimuru heard his skill tell him.
'You think?!' he thought.
Rimuru couldn't hold it any more!
His katana shattered and he jumped back just in time.
Sivert clenched his teeth in frustration. This was annoying him..
Rimuru held out both of his hands towards the Hunter.
He utilized his extra skill 'Black Flame.'
Dark flames enveloped both of his hands.
They formed into giant fire balls and shot out at high speeds towards Sivert. The two balls of fire merged and formed a gigantic one.
Sivert simply swung his glaive, cutting and nullifying the flames with ease.
{Alert! Analyzation of the weapon is complete. The weapon is capable of nullifying a large variety of attacks and capable of dealing severe damage to Spiritual bodies. The weapon seems to also radiate a foul unknown energy that attacks master's magicules, feeding on them.}
Rimuru quietly grumbled in disbelief. No wonder he felt weak..
'That's so unfair!' he shouted in his mind.
Sivert took one step with his left leg and leaned on his right leg. He held his glaive with his left hand, changing his grip to an awkward position. The lower half of the glaive was positioned behind his back by having it go under his arm.
A stance he copied from his old foe Rhulk.
He prepared his attack.
This attack was named 'Burndain.'
A simple but powerful melee attack used to shatter the foes defense.
Sivert's arms and legs along with his glaive were enveloped in resonance energy.
His eyes glowed.
He dashed towards Rimuru.
'Crap!' Rimuru shouted in his mind, he couldn't avoid it in time!
The glaive struck the slime sending him crashing into more buildings.
The slime swore he felt that one, even with pain resistance on.
He couldn't move..
He felt extremely weak.
Rimuru saw Sivert walking up to him.
"Wai-!" He tried to stop Sivert but the Hunter ignored him once again.
Rimuru was grabbed by the hair and slammed him into the ground multiple times before being thrown into another building.
Sivert analyzed the Slime. His earlier attack should have killed Rimuru..
But he survived it..
"He nullified it.." Sivert whispered. "No.."
He went back in his memories, trying to find out what happened.
Rimuru managed to absorb part of the attack's force with gluttony before getting struck.
Sivert's grip on his glaive increased as his anger continued to grow.
Rimuru groaned as he slowly stood up.
He heard a charging like sound, his eyes widened and he turned around to face Sivert who aimed his glaive at him.
He fired a beam of resonance energy at Rimuru who barely jumped out of the way, his legs getting caught in the blast.
Rimuru felt his legs burning!
It hurt!
He could feel this pain!
Rimuru detached his legs, instantly getting rid of the pain and regrew them.
{Full retreat is highly recommended.} His partner told him.
Rimuru sighed in annoyance.
He knew that!
Sivert walked forward, he needed to get this over with..
"Master!" There was a loud shout.
Sivert quickly turned around, he raised his glaive just in time to nullify the powerful lighting blast shot towards him.
There stood a large direwolf.
It growled at him.
"Ranga! Run! This is my fight!" Rimuru shouted at him.
"I cannot master. Let me fight in your stead as you recover!" Ranga shouted before charging towards the Hunter.
He shot powerful bolts of black lighting towards him.
Sivert avoided and nullified them, he spun his glaive once and switched it to his right hand before swinging it and striking the Direwolf.
Ranga crashed into a building. He laid there, severely injured. However he managed slowly stand up.
Luckily he got his attack in place.
The Hunter noticed Ranga smiling..
"Damnit!" Sivert looked up, he raised his glaive and let it go.
It floated and absorbed all of the power from the surge of black Lighting that struck from the sky.
Sivert balled both of his hands into fist...
Ranga prepared to fire another bolt of black lighting.
Sivert closed his eyes, anger consumed him..
"Just die.." he whispered.
A green energy formed on the palm of both his hands. Suddenly it formed into a long green rope with a sharp end.
Sivert opened his eyes and spun the green rope around, he threw it towards Ranga.
The rope wrapped around the Direwolf, immobilizing him.
Sivert pulled Ranga towards him and delivered a powerful punch to his face. Knocking the Direwolf out.
The green energy dispersed.
Sivert didn't even care what that was right now.
He turned around and saw Rimuru standing up.
"Stop this please.. Let me explai-" Rimuru's eyes widened, he was to slow to react to the frozen kama hurled towards him.
It exploded on impact, engulfing the slime in a cold embrace.
His legs started to freeze as he was being incased in Ice.
Rimuru couldn't move!
"Wait!" he shouted at Sivert, fear was heard in is voice.
The Stasis stopped spreading at his shoulders.
The slime was immobile but he could still move his head..
Sivert walked slowly towards him with his glaive in his right hand.
He prepared to finish Rimuru off with one last swift blow.
"!" Sivert heard crying..
He turned his head to the right and spotted a little goblin child. She was stuck alone within a burning building.
It was going to collapse!
"Damnit." Sivert cursed this situation.
He ignored Rimuru and ran for the goblin child. His glaive was enveloped in resonance energy and it vanished.
Sivert dove through the window of the building.
The child screamed in fear, knowing he was the one who caused this.
Sivert ignored the screams she let out, he grabbed the child and ran out before the building collapsed.
Sivert gently placed the goblin child on the ground. Her eyes were full of fear.
"Go!" he shouted at her so she could flee from this area.
She did just that and ran away.
Sivert turned his attention back to Rimuru who managed to break out of the stasis prison.
"So she was right. You do have a heart.. please. I ask again that you let me explain.." His voice was low and weak..
But it sounded just like her..
Sivert's eyes widened, the world stopped for him.
He could see a small apparition of his teacher, the one he saw as a mother appear behind Rimuru.
Shizue stood behind Rimuru, with both of her arms wrapped around his neck. Embracing him as her lips formed into a warm smile. She..
Cared for him.
The apparition was gone.
Sivert was brought back to his senses.
He looked around.
Fire..
A beautiful town being burned.
Some tried to fight the fire while others ran.
The Hunter took a few steps back, he dropped to his knees.
"What-"
No.. He did this!
"What have I done?"
He placed both of his hands on his head, wanting to rip his hair out for doing such a thing, he looked around in horror.
He did this!
He caused this pain and damage!
Rimuru walked slowly towards the Hunter..
The slime dropped to his knees in front of him and embraced Sivert in for a hug.
"You missed her.. I understand. Thank you for not going any further." Rimuru whispered, trying to comfort him.
It worked a little bit..
Sivert stopped holding it all back.
Rimuru stopped hugging him and backed away.
Tears fell down Sivert's cheeks.
"AHHHH!"
He let out one loud scream full of pain and grief before lowering his upper body onto the ground.
His head laid on the hard street floor.
He cried..
And cried.
He couldn't save her..
She was truly gone..
Rimuru stood up and got to work on clearing the flames burning the town as Sivert let out all of his tears.
Luckily it was only the center of the town that took all of the damage. The outer parts of Tempest were still doing good.
"I'm sorry.."
Rimuru heard a faint whisper from Sivert and turned back to face him.
The Hunter prostrated before the slime.
"I'm sorry.. I attacked your home. Feel free to kill me." Sivert whispered a little louder.
He wanted to die right now.
So the pain could go away.
Rimuru shook his head. "No. I wouldn't do such a thing to Shizue-san's student. You cared deeply for her.. you wanted revenge. I understand why you attacked me."
He held out his right hand to Sivert.
Sivert looked up and stared at the hand.
He smacked it away.
"No! You can't forgive me like that! Kill me! Torture me! Do something damnit! Just make me pay the price for the fear and damage I caused! I can't live knowing I did this!" Sivert shouted at Rimuru, tears still falling from his eyes.
He couldn't live like this! Knowing he instilled fear upon many.. he burned the homes they felt safe in.
He ruined their peace..
He wanted to be punished. He didn't care what the punishment was!
Rimuru let out a low sigh.
"If it's what you truly want then I'll grant your wish."
Rimuru closed his eyes.
"Shizue-san said you were a Guardian in your old world."
Sivert's eyes widened at those words.
Rimuru opened his eyes.
He decided to go with the recommendation from his partner.
"You will become my subordinate. My.. Guardian for a Hundred years. This way you can help rebuild and atone for the damage you've done. To atone for the fear you caused.."
Sivert heard his punishment.
He would accept it..
The Hunter slowly changed to a kneeling position.
"As you wish.." He submitted, giving off his very existence to this slime..
It was harsh yes but Sivert deserved it in his eyes.
He attacked a peaceful Nation.
It was only right he serves under it.
Hell a hundred years didn't even feel enough for him.
Rimuru smiled and held out his right hand once again.
Sivert took it and stood up.
"Great Rimuru!" there was a shout.
Sivert turned around, Rimuru walked in front of him.
It was the three Kijin Sivert injured..
They managed to recover a little.
"Benimaru, Shion, Souei. I'm glad your alright!" Rimuru ran off to his three subordinates.
He quickly healed them of their injuries the Holy bullets inflicted.
Sivert had his head lowered in shame.
Within a few minutes later cuffs and chains were placed on him.
Though he could easily break out of them he kept them on because it kept the citizens of Tempest a little more comfortable.
A Few Hours Later
Sivert sat on a wooden chair, cuffs still binding his hands. He was in a prison cell under the government building.
Rimuru sat on a wooden chair on the other side of the bars.
The two were alone..
It was silent.
Sivert was told the full story..
About what happened to Shizue and about Rimuru's reincarnation.
"Thank you for being there for her." Sivert finally spoke.
"It's no problem. She was truly a kind and caring women. I would've done the same thing if I were you. I'm just glad I got to meet you." Rimuru replied in an excited manner.
Sivert stared at him. His gentle smile was kind of like hers.
The Hunter looked down at the floor.
"So. Mind telling me your story? Your full story and what you truly are. I did tell mine after all." Rimuru suddenly asked to satisfy his curiosity.
Sivert sighed, he would obey him.
He stared into Rimuru's eyes and utilized his ultimate skill Lord of Darkness Winnower.
Sivert showed him everything up until he got transported here and was taken in by Shizue.
Rimuru felt like he just walked through years of memories but.. it was only a second.
"Woah.." he placed a hand on his head while slowly shaking it.
Whatever Sivert did gave him a small headache but.. He knew now about everything.
Where he came from..
His power.
His immortality.
"You.. you've been through so much. You died so many times.. you fought powerful beings. You lost friends.. I'm so sorry.." Rimuru whispered. He felt so sorry for him.
Sivert shook his head.
"It's fine.."
Rimuru was amazed by all of this. Humanity in Sivert's universe faced an extinction level event and survived. It was all amazing but tragic at the same time..
"Wow.. do you mind if I hold that?" Rimuru asked as he pointed at Ace that sat on the table next to him.
"Feel free to keep it if you want.." Sivert said with a small chuckle.
He didn't feel worthy of wielding Ace again.
Not after what he did.
Rimuru picked the Handcannon up..
It looked cool and felt heavy. To big for his small hands though.
Sivert stared as Rimuru admired the gun.
Rimuru was powerful, he still didn't understand how Rimuru got this powerful but..
He decided not to question it since he hasn't told Rimuru about his true potential.
However Sivert had a question. One that needed to be answered if he was going to truly serve Rimuru.
"Rimuru Tempest.. what are your goals? What do plan on doing with so much power?" The Hunter asked. He needed to know..
Rimuru was caught by surprise by that sudden question. He looked down at Ace, gently rubbing his right hand over it.
"It's simple. I want to create a world where life is as convenient as I wish it to be. A comfortable world where everyone can laugh and enjoy their lives as much as possible. That's what I truly and honestly want, but this is just an ideal."
Rimuru smiled a little and looked back up to face Sivert.
"And Ideals without power are nonsense, and power without ideals is empty, right? I'm a greedy guy, but I don't have an interest in seeking power just for the sake of power without the ambition to do something with it. So I hope that answers your question."
Sivert's eyes widened.
Never has he..
"Hahahaha!" He burst into laughter, confusing Rimuru.
"What?"
Sivert shook his head, he wiped a small tear off his cheek.
"Nothing.. sorry. I just never seen anyone like you before. Alright then Rimuru I trust you. Feel free to use my powers to help achieve these goals these.. ideals. For I swear to be your Guardian. To be Tempest's Guardian." Sivert pledged himself willingly.
He wanted to.
He saw something in Rimuru that made Sivert want to get closer with him.
Perhaps Shizue did to..
"Thank you Sivert but I won't rely on you all the time. Or else I won't be able to do anything myself. I only intend to use you to defend my nation. To keep it safe. To help me achieve friendly relations with the Humans."
Sivert stood up from his chair and kneeled.
"Then that's what I'll do."
Rimuru chuckled, he stood up from his seat and opened the cell door. Rimuru walked inside and crouched down in front of the Hunter to remove his cuffs.
"There's no need for kneeling. I'm just glad to have you on my side" Rimuru handed Ace to Sivert.
The Hunter stared at the weapon.
He shook his head and stood up.
"You don't want it?" Rimuru asked.
"No.. just not right now. Keep it for me."
Rimuru didn't expect that. He looked down at Ace and shrugged.
He'd just give it back to Sivert when he's ready.
"Oh. By the way where's the little.. companion that you called a ghost? I saw it in those memories of yours."
Sivert forgot about that.
He held out his right hand and summoned Aria.
"Hello! I'm Aria! It's nice to meet you!" The friendly ghost kindly greeted Rimuru.
"Since Sivert is working under you so will I! Feel free to ask me anything! Like what his hobbies are or if you want to learn more about the Light." Aria said in a proud manner.
Rimuru let out a faint 'wow' as he admired her shell. He chuckled a little, "It's good to meet you to and I will if I need to."
He stood up. "Well.. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us Sivert. Let's go you have a lot of work to do."
Rimuru turned around and walked out of the cell and room.
Sivert turned his head slightly to the right, meeting Aria's blue eye.
"Never did I ever think you'd serve someone. But I'm just glad it's not some tyrant. I like Rimuru, he kind of reminds me of you. Only he's more laid back. You should adopt that, I bet you'd be cooler!" Aria recommended.
"You think?" Sivert asked.
"Well yeah. Since you swore to assist Rimuru in his goal to create a convenient world where he can kick back and lazily enjoy entertainment I think you might as well adopt that lifestyle.. You always did want to try something new. Get away from the Guardian lifestyle.." She said.
Sivert stared at her in silence. Those words hit him hard.
"Relax and enjoy your immortal life. Sure you can keep fighting but not all the time. I know there's plenty of other things you can do instead of shooting monsters and fighting Demon Lord's."
Sivert was still silent..
He..
He didn't know how to respond.
All he's done since he got resurrected was fight and kill.
He's never relaxed, only a few times but not constantly.
He's never been lazy..
The idea wasn't bad.
In fact Sivert might enjoy it!
"By the way.. we. We need to find out what that green energy was.. I've never seen you use it." Aria whispered to him.
"What ene-" Sivert stopped, he realized what she was talking about.
That Darkness he used.. it was different. He didn't know what it was.
"I will.. let's go." Sivert walked out of the cell and Aria dematerialized.
End!
Alright!
Hope you enjoyed!
See you next Chapter!
