The week went by in a jiff for both the women. Callie really had to concentrate on her research whereas Arizona had to arrange everything for the opening of the clinic next week which kept them busy whole week, so much so that they didn't get any time to talk to each other than usual updates of Sofia and before they know it was the time for their 2nd date.

After the last the time they were little scared of what this night had in store for them.

On Friday morning Callie messaged Arizona

C: hey, Good morning

A: Good morning, how are you?

C: psyched for tonight

A: yeah? Me too... but I am a little scared as well tbh.

C: why?

A: after the last time I am a little uncertain how to control the emotions

C: I understand... but it's for the greater good right?

A: yeah!

C: I got to run... see ya in the evening

A: yeah! Wear something nice... we are going dancing

C: Yeah? Awesome

A: have a great day Callie

C: you too

After their short conversation over messages, they both went on with their day. Callie had 1 hip replacement and few consults, so she was thinking of leaving early but at the last moment, an emergency came in which required surgery.

So, she dropped the message to Arizona

C: hey I might be late so just drop the location I'll come there directly.

And she went in for the surgery.

Arizona on the other hand finished her work by 5 and was about to go and get ready when she received the message. After dropping the location of the bar Arizona took some extra time getting ready.

Arizona decided to wear a skinny black jean paired with a green satin blouse and her comfortable heels which will be good for dancing and will not cause the chafing of her residual limb. She reached the bar around 7 and waited for Callie.

Around 7:30 Callie entered the bar visibly huffing and scanned the bar for the blond. Her lips formed a big smile as her eyes met the blue orbs in the bar.

As Callie came into the few Arizona's breath hitch a little when she saw her gorgeous Latina wearing a knee-length black dress and a pair of very sexy heels.

"Hey!" Callie said as she approached the Blond

"Hi...you look… incredible," Arizona said eyeing Callie from top to bottom.

"Thanks" Callie blushed "You look beautiful" she added

"Thank you," Arizona said with a smile.

For a while, they had some drinks and talked about the day. Callie told her about the emergency surgery and Arizona told her about the leak they found at the new clinic site. As the night starts to rise, Callie, became little tipsy.

Once the band arrived for their performance there was no way Callie could stay in her seat.

"Come on," Callie said standing up and giving her hand to Arizona to grab "Let's dance"

"Sure! But I don't know how much of a match I will be against your Latino dancing skills" Arizona replied

"Come on Arizona, it's not like we haven't danced before… you are good" Callie replied

"That was before prosthetic… now… not so much" Arizona stated

Callie felt a pang of sadness hearing that "Arizona-"

"No, No… I am not sad Callie… I Am just stating the truth… Come on maybe You could teach me some moves…" Arizona said with a dimpled smile pulling Callie towards the dance floor.

….

Two of them danced for a while maintaining the appropriate distance at first but after some time the combination of alcohol and song made them get closer to each other. Eventually, Arizona's hands were on Callie's waist, while Callie's were around Arizona neck. The cerulean blue eyes gazed deep into the chocolate orbs as the slow song started to play. There were few people on the floor now but for both of them, it felt like there were only them and nobody else around. They were completely lost in each other scent, breathing each other in. Both of them were breathing little heavily now as they continued to stay close to each other swaying slowly on the song until the change of s broke their spell.

Face flushed and red Arizona stepped a little back and excused herself to the restroom, leaving very confused and blushing Callie behind on the dance floor.

In the bathroom, Arizona splashed some water on her face to bring down the breathing and to cool down the heat radiating from her cheeks. Reliving the moment, she just experienced, Arizona smiled a little and didn't hear the door open.

"Hey!" Callie said startling Arizona.

"Hi… I was just-"

"Foetal surgery... right?" Callie said interrupting Arizona

"Huh?" Arizona responded in confusion

"Callie Torres… Ortho"

Arizona gave Callie a questioning glare who in turn was grinning. Then she realized that Callie was trying to recreate their first meeting so, she decided to play along.

"Hi…" Arizona said flashing the dimples

"You okay?"

"No… yeah... I am ... fine" Arizona repeated Callie's line from their first meeting

"For the sake of being honest, I should tell you that I know things about you because people talk" Callie continue "The talk is good they really like and when you are not upset… there will be people lining up for you..." Callie said with a smile.

"Well, what if I tell you that I don't need people to line up for me but only a certain brunette ortho...goddess?" Arizona replied in a flirty voice and a smirk, moving a little closer to Callie.

"Hey, that's not how it went!" Callie pouted.

"I know… but I am making our new beginning" Arizona replied taking one more step closer to Callie

"Does it mean that I won't get to kiss you? like you did?" Callie asked still pouting

"Oh, Calliope!... you wish you were that smooth" Arizona whispered in Callie's ear making her breath hitch a little. She then stepped back and placed a rather lingering and not so innocent kiss on the corner of her mouth just avoiding the lips before heading out of the bathroom, leaving a gawking Callie Behind.

Once out of the club Callie asked, "So What now?"

"Now, I would like to take you to that Italian place you like" Arizona replied, and they decided to walk to the restaurant as it was few blocks away. They walked and talked for a while until Callie noticed that Arizona was walking with a slight limp and was wincing now and then. Knowing better not approach the subject directly Callie decided to try another way.

"Hey, you know what I am not in a mood to go to the restaurant now… I am tired of all that dancing and alcohol... let's face it we are not in our 30's anymore… we are getting old"

Arizona looked at Callie with surprize "You? Tired after dancing? Since when?"

"Like I said we are getting old" Callie shrugged

"Ok-ay" Arizona replied unconvincingly "What do you suggest we do then?"

I was thinking that we could go home... my place as it just around the corner and order in… we could continue our date on my balcony… it beautiful weather today… what do you say?" Callie suggested.

"Um... Are you sure?" Arizona asked again

"Yeah… I am sure… I really want to change as well… These heels are killing me, and we can relax and talk… I have wine!" Callie replied a bouncing her eyebrows.

"hmm…" Arizona pondered for a while then agreed "Fine... as you wish... anyways who am I to say no to my beautiful date?" Arizona said with a wink.

"Why thank you, Dr Robbins… you are not too bad as well" Callie replied with a wink and Arizona scoffed.

"Who knew that the badass Torres will say no to high heels and fine dining and will embrace sweatpants and order ins?" Arizona said laughing.

"Well… as long as my company is beautiful, the ambience doesn't matter much," Callie said with a flirty smile which made Arizona blush.

As they walked towards Callie's apartment rain started to pour and within a few minutes, they were soaked. On the ground floor of the building, many people were waiting for the elevator so when they got it there wasn't much space left to stand. Due to the crowd in the elevator, Callie was standing with her front pressed against Arizona's back.

Arizona tossed her wet hairs from her left shoulder to the other side to get rid of some water in them. Callie had a clear view of Arizona's neck and shoulder and she could see the water droplets on Arizona's neck trickling down and getting lost somewhere down her front, her body leaning gracefully into all the wrong angles that did all the right things and she could feel Arizona's fast-beating heart from her back.

Arizona on the other hand felt like all her senses were alert, she could feel Callie's gaze on her back and her hand touching Callie's oh so lightly. Callie was breathing with slightly open mouth; her warm breath was now stroking the crook of her neck a which caused a shiver to the course over her. Callie moved her hand a little and grazed Arizona's fingers lightly. When she felt no resistance from her, she smoothed her hand up her waist and felt her breath grew more ragged along with her own.

The sexual tension between them could be cut with a knife and the elevator was stopping on almost every floor which was making the whole experience even more excruciating. There was only so much they could do to control themselves. Elevator was getting less crowed with each stop and there was enough space for them to move now; but none of them left their position and stayed just like that, close to each other breathing in synch.

A ding and jerk from the elevator stopping on their floor brought them out from their trance and they detached themselves from each other. Both of them avoided each other's eyes as they move towards the apartment.

"you are wet…" Callie said as they entered the apartment

"Huh!" Arizona asked with wide eyes

"Oh… Ahem… I mean… um… you are soaked… f-from the r-rain… umm…I will give you something to wear and put y-your clothes in the d-dryer." Callie said with a strutter.

"Year. OH yeah… right? Rain... clothes" Arizona muttered incoherently.

Callie went to her room in a flash and brought an oversized T-shirt and Capri for Arizona "lets change and then we'll order food?"

"Yeah… sure," Arizona said and went to the bathroom to change.

After changing and drying her hair Arizona came to the living room and found Callie already sitting on the couch in her pj's. Callie felt a flutter in her stomach watching Arizona in her T-shirt. Moments like these make her realize the small things that she took for granted earlier. Arizona always used to steal Callie's T-shirt and even though she acted annoyed, secretly Callie used to love seeing Arizona prancing around the house in her T-shirt and underwear.

As Arizona came and sat next to her, Callie put the throw on them and handed her the white wine she poured for her. As it was raining outside, they couldn't go out in the balcony so resumed their date in the living room itself.

"So, what hot and heavy topic from out past are we going to discuss today?" Callie asked as they sipped their wine.

"I was thinking let's not discuss anything today?" Arizona replied

"Really?" Callie asked.

"Yeah! I don't want us to dread our dates… dates are supposed to be romantic… we had a rather heavy discussion last time and the day after that… I guess we can skip it this time. What do you think?" Arizona replied

"I think that's a brilliant idea Dr Robbins" Callie replied with a beaming smile.

"You are really like calling me Dr Robbins don't you," Arizona asked squinting her eyes.

"Oh yeah… I find it… Sexy" Callie replied in a slightly husky voice which made Arizona shiver a little.

They decided to enjoy each other's company with a movie, popcorn and wine. The temperature drops a little due to the rain outside and without realizing the scooted closer to each other, their legs and arms now touching as they tried really hard to focus on the movie they were trying watching.

Maybe it was because of the weather outside, or dancing or their closeness in the lift but they could not get rid of the sexual tension they had in between them. As the wine started to take its effect, they moved closer to each other.

The smell of Arizona's perfume assaulted Callie's sense and she shifted little at her place which made Arizona look towards her in question.

"I like the smell of your perfume" Callie whispered breathing out slowly.

"Oh yeah! What else…?" Arizona whispered back

"I … like seeing you in my T-Shirt…" Callie said eyeing Arizona top to bottom.

"hmm…I like wearing it too" Arizona replied huskily leaning a little bit forward.

"And… I like … when you…" Callie spoke breathing heavily between every word.

"When I…what?" Arizona asked still moving closer, eyes flickering between Callie eyes and lips.

"I don't remember…" Callie replied incoherently as her face bent down into Arizona's in slow motion, like a dream, and then as she felt her hot mouth close over hers the time seemed to stop. Before Callie could withdraw, she felt Arizona arms on her waist pulling her in.

The kiss began softly at first, and then when Arizona felt the warmth of Callie's tongue on her lips the intensity of that moment made her cling to her as if she was the only solid thing in the wavering world. Callie's insistent tongue was parting her shivering lips, sending tremors of sensations along her nerves, engendering the feelings deep inside her which she had forgotten she was capable of.

Nobody knows if Callie pushed Arizona back on the couch or Arizona pulled her in but now, they were on the couch with Callie on the top claiming her mouth again, hungry and intense. By the time Arizona became aware of her fingers, they had already slipped under Callie's shirt on her waist, her skin smooth and radiating warmth.

Arizona moaned as Callie's mouth began to trail kisses down the bare skin of her neck. She could feel her body threatening to explode, just from the mere touch of Callie's lips. Callie on the other hand was lost in the intoxicating feeling of Arizona's familiar yet so different lips. Losing herself once more in the kiss, Callie's hands moved up and under Arizona's T-shirt, caressing the taut stomach and smooth back making pattern under the shirt.

They knew that they were supposed to take things slowly but right now there was nothing that could separate them. All the emotions, feeling and love of past 4 years came rushing down in this particular moment. So, no nothing could stop them now.

As if on cue, the phone nearby started to ring loudly.

"Shit!" Callie said exclaimed as she tried to sit up and calm her breathing.

Arizona took a few extra seconds to realize what was happening.

"Its Sofia!" Callie said still breathing heavily.

"Oh!" Arizona said sitting up and taking a deep breath to calm her raging hormones

Both women, with heat radiating from their face and laboured breathings answered the video call.

"Hi, Mami..." Sofia said excitedly.

"Hi Baby, how are you love?" Callie asked smiling hard

"I am good Mami… I tried calling Mama also, but she is not picking up her phone" Sofia said with a pout "I wanted to talk to both you together"

When Sofia said Arizona realized that her phone was on silent and there was a call from Sofia and her mother.

"Hmm... what can we do… to bring your Mama here?" Callie said pretend to think "Oh I know… I can do Magic"

"Mami, I am not a baby… I know there no such thing as Magic… also… only Mama can do Magic because she has super magic smile… as you told me" Sofia replied smartly, Arizona stifled her laugh from behind the camera

"Really? Do you think only your Mama is magic? Just watch" Callie replied and pretended to do some spell "Sofia close your eyes until I ask you to open," Callie said, and Sofia complied.

Callie gestured Arizona to come in frame "Ok Sof, Open your eyes"

"Hey, baby girl!" Arizona exclaimed with her dimpled smile.

"MAMA! How did you get here" Sofia asked, bouncing a little with excitement

"I did magic… that's how," Callie said smugly

"Mami! I told you I am not kid… you can't fool me… tell me… how come you are with Mama" Sofia asked

"Um…" Callie looked at Arizona asking for help in answering

"We… um… Mami had some work… so… I was…um… helping" Arizona said with a blush which was matching Callie's

"oh okay!" Sofia said contended with the explanation.

After that, they talked for half an hour with Sofia about the camp and classes etc. After all the I love you's and I miss you's with Sofia they disconnected the call.

"So, she seems happy," Arizona said breaking the silence which hung between them after the call.

"Oh yeah! As happy as she'll ever be" Callie replied with a smile.

"Um… I guess I should leave now… it's late and … um… Nicole is coming tomorrow… so" Arizona said starting to get up.

"But… We didn't order food yet" Callie said in an attempt to stop Arizona.

"Oh yeah!... I guess I am not that hungry… but if you want, we could order now… I could accompany you" Arizona replied

"Will you accompany me even if I don't order food? Cause I am not hungry either" Callie asked with a smirk

"Huh? what you need a company for then?" Arizona asked

"Just for sitting here and talking… I don't want you to go just yet" Callie confessed, and Arizona felt the similar fluttering in her stomach she felt many times today.

"I would like that but, it's getting late and like I said Nicole is coming tomorrow so I need …" Arizona said meekly.

The truth was even Arizona didn't want to go but with what just happened Arizona was scared that if she stayed, they will do something they'll both regret doing too soon.

"Ah Alright? I guess I can't stop you" Callie said defeatedly

"Hey, don't be like that I'll see you soon," Arizona said encouragingly.

"Arizona..um.. before you go… I want to ask something"

"Ask away," Arizona said with a smile.

"Do you regret … um…what we… did?" Callie asked meekly

"What? No… not at all Callie… I liked it… really …really liked it" Arizona said with a sparkle in her eyes which made Callie smile like a goof.

"I liked it too" Callie replied.

"I'll leave now and wait for you to call me" Arizona joked

"Yeah! You can count on it" Callie replied.

"Good Night Callie," Arizona said as she walked towards the door.

"Good night" Callie replied as she walks behind her till the door.

Just as Arizona was about to leave-

"Stay with me!" Callie said a little louder than usual

"Huh?" Arizona asked turning to face Callie who was standing very close now.

"Don't go… please… stay with me… sleep with me today" Callie requested.

"Callie?" Arizona exclaimed with wide eyes

As Callie realized the double meaning behind this term, she corrected herself at the instant "NO! not sleep with me… like really sleep with me… I want to hold you today as we sleep…"

Arizona looked at Callie with pleading eyes "Callie, I don't know… I…"

"Today, the first time in 4 years I felt close to you… after so many years I really felt you… I am not ready to let go of that feeling now… please Arizona … I want to be near you… to hold you while we sleep… please… I want you" Callie said with tears in her eyes.

"Callie!" Arizona said almost in a whisper as Callie's words brought tears in her eyes as well.

"Arizona!" Callie whispered back moving close to her, resting her forehead against Arizona "Please?" and with that, all restraints broke, and Arizona nodded her head in agreement.

"Yey! and I swear I won't take advantage of you" Callie joked making a cross on her chest. Arizona couldn't help but laugh on her antics and excitement.

After freshening up, Arizona came out of the bathroom in Callie's room and sat awkwardly on the edge of the bed to remove her prosthetics while Callie sitting on the other side waiting for her.

After removing her prosthetic Arizona got under the sheets and still facing the ceiling. Callie moved closer to her and places an innocent kiss on her cheek.

As they lay in the bed, both of them felt a little awkward at first. Gradually, Arizona turned to her right with her back at Callie.

"Can I hold you?" Callie asked quietly moving closer to Arizona.

Arizona cleared her throat and nodded.

They both took a deep breath when Callie's hand snaked around Arizona's waist and her front pressed into Arizona's back.

Nobody spoke anything, they stayed just like that feeling each other, smelling each other's all too familiar scent. As they lay there in each other arms the emotions and feelings of the last 4 years came rushing down to them. Tears slowly started to fell, dropping on the pillow below them silently. Both of them knew that the other was crying but none of them said anything. Instead, they both stayed in the same position in each other arms; after 4 years feeling everything life has thrown to them and they cried quietly. There were tears for the lost love, tears for the lost intimacy and lost time. They mourned their separation and shed tears for their broken vows but mostly they cried because they spent the last 4 years away from each other. After few minutes Callie tightened her hold and buried her nose in Arizona's shoulder. Arizona in return took Callie's hand and pulled it towards her face and left a small kiss on the palm; holding her hand tightly fingers entangled together. Right there, at that very moment, they knew that there is no going back from here. No matter what happens they will pull through as staying away is not an option and from now on no matter what happens they are going to be okay.
