Chapter 84

Living in the Light

NO POV

Meanwhile back in the world of Edolas at the Royal Palace, Erza Knightwalker, Hughes, Sugarboy, Byro, Coco, Edolas Willy, as well as Faust stood before Jellal who was awaiting them with their punishment as his first act as the new king.

"The Royal City of Edolas has entered a new era with its people looking towards the future," spoke Jellal as he gazed into the city below. "However, they haven't forgotten the pain and the trouble that you've all caused them in the past. Therefore, you all must be given due punishment for your actions." He paused impressively as he turned to seven people before him. "As the new king, I hereby proclaim this... Sir Faust, you are permanently exiled from the kingdom. You are forbidden from ever stepping foot in the Royal City again."

Edolas Willy eyes widened a little, but she held her tongue and said nothing. Coco, however, felt sorry for Faust.

"Oh no. The poor guy..." she murmured.

Jellal then looked towards the short-haired scarlet woman at his right. "Erza Knightwalker-"

"I'm prepared to die for my sins," spoke Knightwalker. "You needn't hold back in regards to my punishment."

Edolas Willy looked towards Knightwalker not believing what she was hearing. "But Erza...!"

"It's OK, Willy," insisted Erza. "I've caused a lot of pain to all the people of Edolas and I deserve the harshest punishment."

"Yes, you do, Erza. And you will receive that punishment," spoke Jellal. He paused impressively again until he finally spoke. "You are not allowed to leave the kingdom unless I've authorized you to do so. In addition, you are to help the citizens rebuild the Royal City."

Erza's eyes widened in shock as did Edolas Willy not expecting such a punishment.

Jellal then looked at the others. "Byro, Sugarboy, Hughes," he continued. "You are all given the same punishment as Knightwalker."

Now Byro, Sugarboy, and Hughes were surprised. They could not believe what they were hearing.

"Care to explain yourself?" scowled Erza. "What's the meaning of this?!"

"Yeah. This is awesome and all, but this is also awesomely messed up, don't ya think?" agreed Hughes.

"So the Magic Warfare Units don't get the full brunt?" hummed Sugarboy thoughtfully. "How very peculiar."

"Yes. I'm afraid I'm a bit puzzled as well," said Byro. "Just what are you trying to achieve?"

"Your atonement. Nothing more," replied Jellal.

"Then you should simply execute us!" insisted Erza. "We don't want to live our lives in disgrace! In fact, we were very well prepared for that punishment!"

"Please, King Jellal," begged Byro. "This our desire. Won't you please sympathize with our feelings and grant us our last wish?"

"Please stop talking like that!" cried Edolas Willy. "There's no need to kill yourselves for atonement!"

"Yeah! If you guys are gonna give up, your lives to atone, then I will too!" said Coco.

"That won't be necessary, Coco," said Jellal. "I won't allow you to do that after you reformed of your own accord which might I add was truly noble of you. Don't allow your past to overshadow your accomplishment." He then looked back at Knightwalker and the other captains. "The reason I'm giving you this punishment is that I need people like you to rebuild Edolas. All of you possess things despite not having magic power. Innate abilities, wisdom, and experience. Those things are what this city needs to help rebuild. However, if you think that the burden is too much for you to bear, I shall grant you the punishment you desire."

"Then if that's true, then you should grant his highness- I mean Sir Faust the same punishment," said Knightwalker. "Wouldn't that be fair too?"

There was a long silence. Then Faust spoke.

"My punishment is fair," he spoke quietly. "There's no need to worry about me."

Everyone looked Faust in surprise.

"But Father, why? How is this fair to you?!" demanded Edolas Willy. "There's really no need for you and anyone else to be punished! If anything, I'm the one who should be punished! After all, I hurt innocent lives and I'm the Black Swordsman after all. If anything... I should be the one to be executed."

Faust then looked at Edolas Willy and stood in front of her tilting her head up with his finger to make her look at him.

"There's no need to blame yourself, Willy," he said gently. "You were only following orders that I was giving you. That and I treated you horribly. For that, I deeply apologize."

"But..." protested Willy.

"There's no need to argue about this any further, Willy," interrupted Faust. "I'll accept my punishment."

"Then take me with you then," insisted Willy. "I'm just as much to blame as you are. If anything, I deserve to be executed. After all, I'm the Demon Swordsman. Someone like me doesn't deserve to live after all the suffering I caused."

"Willy, there's no need for you to die for my sins," said Faust. "Besides, you're still very young and you deserve a bright future and it is not with me."

"That's right. You not only reformed, but you stood up to Faust even in the face of danger and even went as far as to reason with him into surrendering," added Jellal. "That alone proves that you''re not only brave, but you have a kind soul. Therefore, you are also given the same punishment as Knightwalker and the others. Besides, you have a role to play in Edolas. Not as Kuromen the Black Swordsman, but as your new name, Hakumen. Or would you rather have Willy's intentions go to waste?"

Edolas Willy looked at Jellal a bit taken aback and unsure of what else to say. She then looked towards the ground not saying another word.

Faust then straightened up and looked back to his former commanders.

"Take care of yourselves."

He then walked towards Jellal and stopped just in front of him. "I am grateful to you, the new king," he said. "I thank you for showing me such mercy." He then looked up at the sky. "You know... that young man from Earth Land. Before he left our world, I called out to him."

"Yes. I'm well aware of that," said Jellal.

Faust was watching as Natsu and the others floated upwards into the air as the Reverse Anima.

"Solidarity, conviction, and courage," he said to himself. "It would seem that forgot what was really important in life." He then looked up towards Natsu and called out to him. "Tell me, boy. Being in a guild, do you enjoy it?"

Natsu looked back at the old man and flashed a toothy smile.

"Yeah! Of course, I enjoy it! Being in a guild's the greatest ever!"

"I'll never forget the smile on his face when he answered me," went on Faust. "At first I didn't understand, but now I have a full understanding. It stirred something within me." He then looked back at Jellal giving him a sad smile. "Well then... I suppose this is goodbye."

He then looked back towards Coco. "Coco, never stop running, child. It's what makes you who you are."

Coco was surprised. Then her eyes filled up with tears as she began to cry. "I won't! I promise!"

Faust looked towards Edolas Willy and smiled gently.

"I know that you want to be there for me and you may want to punish yourself by living in the darkness Willy, but there's no need do that to yourself anymore," he said. "You have a chance to be the person who you always dreamed of being. Live in the light, my child. Feel it and breathe it in all that you do, for it is there where your future lies. And... just so you know, we may not be related by blood, but... no matter what, you'll always be my daughter and I'll always love you."

Fresh tears began to trickle down Edolas Willy's cheeks and she started to cry too. Faust then turned away and started walking out of the gates of the palace. He took one last look at Jellal and spoke so that no one else could hear him.

"Take care of your sister. She'll need someone to show her the way."

"I promise I will," Jellal spoke back. "She is a part of my family after all."

And with that after getting his belongings, Faust walked out of the gates leaving the Royal Palace as well as his comrades and his family behind him. As he walked out, Jellal then raised his hand up high with his thumb and index finger pointed. Edolas Willy then came up.

"What... is that you're doing?" she wondered.

"This is a sign," said Jellal. "A sign showing that no matter how far away you are, no matter where you go, I'll always be watching over you. It's what Fairy Tail taught me."

Edolas Willy then looked back at her father's disappearing figure and she too raised her hand mimicking Jellal. And they continued to hold them high as Faust disappeared from sight.

After Faust had left, Willy was wandering around town trying to clear her head. She didn't really have any plans on where to go, so she just wandered around until she soon came to the downtown part of the Royal City where Natsu and the others had destroyed. Rubble lay everywhere. However, all of the citizens were busily at work clearing all the rubble while repairing the buildings at the same time.

"It's hard to believe that these people once depended on magic power," Willy thought to herself. "Now ever since that show the Earth Landers put on, they feel like they can accomplish anything. It makes me feel kinda jealous."

As she continued on, she walked past various people who as soon as they saw her gasped and stared at her.

"Whoa... is that who I think it is?"

"Yeah. That's the girl who that demon said was Kuromen."

"I wonder what she's doing here?"

Willy pretended she didn't hear them. Then she heard a strange noise. The sound of something huge rolling along the ground. All the other citizens heard the noise too and wondered what the noise was. They soon found out and they could not believe their eyes. Rolling towards them was a large building. It had the appearance of a giant beanstalk sprouting that split into two directions, which also had a large banner that had a symbol to a certain guild that Edolas Willy recognized. It was also being pulled along by a large group of men who were struggling and pulling as hard as they could. Willy recognized them immediately.

"Wait... isn't that the Fairy Tail guild?" she murmured to herself. "

Then from the building, a group of girls jumped down from the building. Among them was one that exactly like a certain Celestial Wizard from Earthland, only her blonde hair was short and her clothes comprised in a revealing, black leotard that was cut to reveal her stomach and ample cleavage with a large collar. It also had a stylised single metal shoulder-guard on the right shoulder, a sheet of white fabric attached to her right hip cascading down to her knee, a single white sleeve over her forearm and a decorative black tattoo encircling her upper left arm. She also wore black leather pants while sporting a pair of knee-high boots.

She also wasn't alone. The Edolas Cana, Bisca, Juvia, Levy, Wendy, and Mira were with her.

"Way to go you guys!" she said. "We made it to our destination!"

"Yeah. No thanks to you," complained the men.

"What is that thing?" wondered a man.

"It seems to be a building of sorts," said another.

"Wait a minute... I recognize that emblem," realized a third.

"Hello, people of Royal City!" greeted Mira.

"We're the members of the Fairy Tail guild," said Juvia and Wendy.

"We can solve any problems that you have," called out Cana.

"And nobody can beat our prices!" said Levy.

"We're running a special for our grand opening, so act now!" added Bisca.

"Whoa! This is great!" exclaimed a female citizen

"My roof has been damaged due to that Dark Lord!" called out a male.

"We're gonna need more bricklayers if we're gonna rebuild the city. Would you mind giving us a hand?" asked a man.

"We'd love too!" the female members of Fairy Tail cried happily.

The girls were delighted now that they had new clients. However, the boys were not so thrilled.

"I don't know anything about fixing roofs," whimpered Gray.

"Me either," groaned Natsu.

"They're gonna treat us like slaves..." groaned Macao.

"Alright, you bums!" called out Lucy. "Get out there and make some money!"

"How can you be so cruel...?" the men groaned.

Seeing the men about to be put through the wringer by the girls, Edolas Willy couldn't help but feel sorry for them. She wanted to help them too. But she wasn't sure how to offer her help. Then she heard a voice.

"Hey there, stranger. Is something the matter?"

Willy looked up and she found herself staring in the eyes of Mira. As soon as she saw her, she couldn't help but be a little surprised causing her to jump back.

"Oops. Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you," Mira apologized.

"Its... it's no problem," said Willy. "You just surprised me is all."

"Forgive me if I'm wrong, but your name is Princess Hakumen, am I right?" wondered Mira.

"Yes. I am," replied Willy.

"Well, it's certainly nice to meet you," smiled Mira. "My name is Mirajane."

"I-It's nice to meet you," Willy responded shyly.

"Hey Mira! Who are you talking to?" called out Lucy. Then she saw Edolas Willy. "Wait... it's that one chick! The one who was Kuromen!"

Then the other members of Fairy Tail took notice of Willy's presence and some even started coming over making Edolas Willy even more nervous. Lucy then walked up to her her eyes narrowing in a glare.

"So what are you doing here?" she asked scowling. "You here to make trouble or something?"

"N-no! Nothing of the sort!" Kuromen immediately spoke. "I was just here to see if there's anything I could do to around here!"

"Oh yeah?" Lucy spoke raising a brow. "How do we know that you're not just here to go after our guild for revenge?"

"Lucy. Come on," soothed Levy. "There's no need to be so suspicious. If she wanted revenge, she could have attacked us from the start. Besides, she's not Kuromen anymore. She's Haku... what her face or something."

"But she's the daughter of Faust!" protested Lucy. "Not to mention that she's done who knows what else for her so called king!"

"But she's good now, right?" squeaked Natsu. "That means that we should trust her, right?"

Edolas Lucy then glared at Edolas Natsu. "Shut it, Natsu or I'm gonna put you in a grapple you'll never forget!"

Natsu's face paled and he said nothing more.

"There's no need to defend me," said Willy shaking her head. "I don't blame you for not trusting me. I... was blindly following my father's orders all for the sake of what I believed to be just and honorable. But I couldn't have been more wrong. Thankfully, my eyes have been opened and I've seen the error of my ways." She then bowed respectively on her hands and knees. "However, if you still feel like I am untrustworthy, I will gladly accept any punishment you have. All I ask is that you please accept my forgiveness."

Every member of Fairy Tail was shocked as they stared at Willy bowing. Even Lucy didn't what to say. There was a long silence. Then Mira and Elfman walked forward and Mira placed a hand on Willy's shoulder.

"There's no need for you to bow," said Mira. "Please raise your head."

Edolas Willy did so to see that Edolas Mira as well as her brother smiling kindly at her.

"There's no need for you to punish yourself for what happened in the past," said Mira. "Besides, you're the princess. There's no reason for you to plunge yourself into the darkness. It's better for you live in the light."

"Yeah. And you seem like a nice person," said Elfman. "So you're OK in my book. In fact, if you're interested, why don't you join us?"

Willy stared at the two siblings deeply shocked. "Are... are you serious?" she asked incredulously. "You'd... you'd really let me join you? Even... with a past as bad as mine?"

Mira along with everyone else nodded in response except for Lucy who was still feeling a little less than trusting.

"Of course," smiled Wakaba. "We could aways use another pretty girl like you on our side."

"Especially because you're the princess," added Macao

"And don't mind, Ms. Cranky Blonde over here," added Levy. "She's always giving everyone a pissy attitude."

"I wouldn't talk if I was you, you flat-chested grease monkey!" snapped Lucy. "You're just as bad if not worse!"

"Who you calling a flat-chested grease monkey, ya crazed beast of a bimbo?!" Levy snapped back. "You looking to pick a fight?!"

The two glared grimly at each other as everyone else could only sigh in exasperation while Willy gawked at the two in surprise.

"Don't worry. They always fight like that," reassured Mira. "It's as they say, the more friends fight, the closer they are. Anyway, now that you're one of us, what do you say we get you signed up and everything? After that, you can join us while the boys do all the work."

"Hey! Don't go giving her any ideas!" the boys yelled.

Mira then took her hand and led her towards the other girls. Willy nervousness was now gone and she couldn't help but feel happy. Then she rememebered what her father told her.

"Live in the light, my child. Feel it and breathe it in all that you do, for it is there where your future lies."

"Father... I may still be new when it comes to this kind of thing," she thought. "But I think I'm starting to understand what light you were talking about. And I'll try my best to live in it. No matter how dark my past is."

WILLY'S POV

After a while, after crying our eyes out from our reunion, we all headed back to the Fairy Tail guild hall with Lisanna being a new addition. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed to the bustling noise of the guild hall. Everyone was inside and everything was normal like nothing had ever happened. Then the other members inside of the guild hall all stopped to look at us. As soon as they saw Lisanna, their eyes went wide and they froze in shock. The bustling guild now went silent as Lisanna stepped in. There was a long silence, then Macao broke the silence.

"Wait... is that... who I think it is?" he murmured.

"It is," spoke a female member. "It's Lisanna!"

"But... how can that be?!" said a male member. "I thought... that she was dead!"

Erza then stepped forward. "Please calm yourselves," she said. "I know that you're shocked, but... there's an explanation for this. In fact... it's quite a long story."

"But... we thought that we lost you!" choked Macao.

"You were alive the whole time?!" croaked Wakaba pointing a trembling finger.

Lisanna smiled timidly and answered with a tiny nod. Then suddenly, all of the male members came charging straight at her their eyes overflowing with tears of joy about to dogpile her.

"LISANNA!"

Me and Elfman immediately reacted by stepping in front of Lisanna. And with Elfman turning his arm into a metal arm and with me cloaking my fist with water, we knocked everyone away from her with our powerful fists.

"KEEP YOUR FILTHY PAWS OFF OF HER!" we roared.

Now all of the male members of the on the floor dazed and bruised.

"Guys, they were all just happy to see her," Natsu spoke. "That was the same reaction we had when we first saw her."

"Oh my goodness," chuckled Mira. "I never would have guessed that Willy and Elfman would be so overprotective. What good brothers."

"Is that what you call what they did?" muttered Happy.

"That aside, I'm glad that the guild's back to how it was before," said Lucy. "What a relief."

"Yeah. No joke," agreed Gray. "It also seems that the guild had no idea about the Anima."

"I'm just glad that they're all safe and sound," said Erza.

Then Makarov came up. "Lisanna... is it really you?" he asked.

"Yes, Master. It is," said Lisanna.

"I'm glad. Truth be told, I had given up all hope when I found out about what had happened to you," Makarov spoke quietly. "But somewhere... somewhere inside my heart I knew that you'd be alive and well. I consider those who have been raised in this guild my own children, so its only natural that a parent like myself should be worried about you. However, at the same time, a parent also has faith in their children. As for the rest of the details of how you got here, you can tell me about them later." He looked towards Natsu and me. "The same thing goes for you as well."

"You got it, Gramps," said we both said.

Makarov then smiled widely at Lisanna. "Today, we celebrate your return to Fairy Tail!"

Lisanna's eyes sparkled as her eyes began to well up with tears once again. "I'm... I'm really back, aren't?" she murmured. "Is this... some kind of dream?"

"No. It isn't, my child," Makarov chucked. "This will always be your home no matter where you go. Welcome back, Lisanna dear."

Then the rest of us let out a yell in a rousing chorus.

"WELCOME BACK, LISANNA!"

Tears of joy trickled down Lisanna's cheeks. Then she jumped towards Makarov and tackled him a big hug much to our surprise.

"Lisanna tackled the Master!" yelped Lucy.

"Please calm down, Ms. Lisanna!" Wendy said worriedly. "The Master's fragile!"

"Just let her be," I chuckled. "She just got back, after all, so she needs to get it out."

After Lisanna cried her eyes out a little more, the party celebrating her return was in full swing. Everyone was drinking, eating, and partying their hearts out. Some of them were sitting at the tables chatting it up while others were dancing or brawling with each other. As the party went on, Mira, Elfman, Lisanna, and I looked on from the balcony from above.

"I can't believe how much everyone has changed," said Lisanna looking back at us. "Although I gotta say, you've probably changed the most out of everyone else Mira."

"Who me? I suppose I did," smiled Mira innocently.

"You kidding? More like you did a one-eighty, Mira," I laughed. "I still remember back when you'd used to fight with Erza all the time for the stupidest reasons."

"I'll say. She was a real man," agreed Elfman.

"But... despite all the changes, Fairy Tail will always be Fairy Tail," smiled Lisanna. "The same one that I and everyone else will remember."

Just then a familiar voice called out to us.

"Lisanna. So this is where you were."

Walking towards us was Fried along with two other people. On his right was a young woman who was fair-skinned, had long curly light brown hair, and dark brown eyes with oval glasses in front of them. She wore a brown overcoat with trimmed white fur with a green dress with a blue stripe in the middle with a golden heart that hugged her figure underneath, light brown stockings, and purple pumps. She also was carrying a feathered purple fan and had her green guild stamp is located on the right side of her bust.

On Fried's left, was a man that was tall, muscular, a man with broad shoulders. His outfit comprised of his upper body covered in a dark, cloth covered in vertical white stripes, which extend up to his head to cover it in a tight hood, exposing only his hands and face which was hidden by a metal visor reminiscent of part of a helmet. He had large green armbands with red trims, shoulder pads each having skulls on its center, a simple dark band which held up a sky blue waist guard made of cloth, which came in four pieces adorned by a dark "X", and had a pair of extremely baggy, loose dark pants underneath, with black shoes with purple laces. He also had strange floating tiki-like objects floating around him.

I had no idea who these two were, but the Strauss siblings faces brightened upon seeing them.

"It's the Thunder God Tribe!" grinned Lisanna. "This is a rare sight!"

"Yeah. I never would have expected to see you guys," said Elfman.

"Well, we just happened to be in the area," said the woman. "Once we heard that Lisanna was alive, we came as soon as we heard."

"Yeah! This is is a rocking day," grinned the man. He then looked at the floating around him. "Right babies?"

"Oh yeah! Rocking day!" the floating tikis replied.

"Who are they?" I wondered curiously. "I don't think I've met them before."

"Oh yeah. You've only met Fried, so it's only natural," said Mira. "Willy, allow me to introduce the other members of the Thunder God Tribe who work alongside Fried; Evergreen and Bixlow."

"Nice to meet you," grinned Bixlow.

"Charmed," smiled Evergreen.

"It's a pleasure to meet you two as well," I said. "So you're the other members of the Thunder God Tribe. Fried's told me about you guys."

"Of course he has," grinned Evergreen as she opened her fan striking a pose. "I mean after all... I'm the ultimate fairy!"

"What... does being a fairy have to do with this?" I wondered feeling puzzled.

"Just go with it," whispered Elfman. "She always gets like this. She's got a bit of a complex when it comes to this kind of stuff."

Then we all heard a loud whoop and a crash causing us to turn our attention towards the sound. The source was Natsu who was rampaging about the guild laughing with glee.

"I LOVE BEING IN A GUILD!" he shrieked. "DON'T YOU HAPPY?!"

"AYE SIR!" Happy agreed.

"Geez! Take it easy, Natsu!" complained a male member. "Quit busting up the place!"

"Yeah! The last thing we want is our guild hall being torn down again!" said a female.

Lisanna then went down to where Natsu was rampaging and went over to the other members with Elfman and the Thunder God Tribe in tow leaving me and Mira by ourselves. As we continued to watch the party going on below, I couldn't help but smile as we watched the party go on.

"I can hardly believe this," I said. "We're all back together again, aren't we?"

"Yes. We are," said Mira. "I've always dreamed of this... but it's like some kind of dream now. It began with you coming back and now Lisanna returning too. I'm really starting to feel like we're one family again. But... I wonder."

I then looked at Mira who now seemed a bit sad. "Wonder what?"

"How long will this last?" she said as looked up towards the ceiling. "I mean how long will this dream last? Will we stay together forever? Or will one of us end up disappearing again? It... kinda terrifies me."

I watched as Mira squeezed her arms a little and bit her lip. I could see that she was a bit worried and I can't really blame her either. First, she thought that she had lost me and then she thought that she lost Lisanna. That had to have been terrifying and saddening for her back then.

After a brief pause, I gently placed a hand on her shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

"There's no need to be so worried, Mira," I said. "None of us are going anywhere. While we can't exactly control what had happened in the past or what will happen in the future, we have control what we do today and we can enjoy it as much as we can. That's why it's called the present. It's a gift."

Mira looked at me and smiled a little. "Yeah... I guess you're right," she said.

I smiled back at her and I turned on my heel and began waking out of the guild.

"Where are you going?" asked Mira. "Aren't you gonna stay for the party?"

I shook my head. "Nah. I'm gonna head back home to get some rest. I need it after all I've been through. Besides, you deserve to have some time with Lisanna. I mean, after all, she is your sister. Go have some fun with her. You need it."

"Alright then," spoke Mira. "See you, Willy. And thanks for the talk."

Then I quietly walked towards the front door carefully opening it and stepped through it shutting it behind me. I then started walking heading back to the apartments. The clouds were still a little bit gray, but the rain lessened. As I walked along, I couldn't help but look back towards the guild hall feeling a slight bitter feeling in my heart.

"We can't control what happened in the past huh?" I thought to myself. "Now why does that make me feel somewhat of a hypocrite? Maybe its because I'm a person whose past will always seem to take control of what I do in the present to most people?"

As I continued on wandering in my thoughts, I failed to notice where I was going or where I was headed. What I didn't know was that I was walking past a certain bar that I had passed by before and I wouldn't find that out before it was too late. I then heard a voice that snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Well, well. Look who it is. It's the coward from Fairy Tail."

I stopped walking and immediately turned to my right and I bit back a groan. I found myself standing beside the bar that I walked past before the Edolas fiasco where the fat man with the vest and his friends were still drinking.

"Oh god. Not this again," I thought to myself.

Not wanting to deal with these thugs, I was about to continue on my way, something once again whizzed by my head causing me to stop. Sure enough, it was a beer bottle. This made me stop and turn around to see that the fat guy with the vest and his buddies were snickering and laughing.

"Sorry about that. My hand slipped," mocked the fat guy.

He and the other thugs laughed while I simply stood there and glared at them. I then turned around and was about to walk away, but then I heard the fat guy called out again.

"Hey coward, still stuck with your so-called Fairy Tail friends? Or did they already kick you out?"

"Maybe he's looking for another crime to commit," sneered another thug. "After all, that is what criminals like him do."

"He's probably leaving them right now," laughed a third. "Hell, he's probably off to join another dark guild like the traitor that he is!"

This made me stop completely now seething a little in anger as the thugs all roared rudely with laughter. I was planning on walking away when I remembered what Gajeel had told me back at Edolas.

"...there will be some battles you can't run away from. Especially if it's an enemy or someone who makes fun of your guild or threatens to hurt your loved ones. If you're a real dragon slayer and a Fairy Tail wizard, you should have at least some sense of pride. Fight. Show them who's the boss and who's guild they're dissing. If you don't, then that makes you nothing short of a coward."

Then I turned around and walked towards the thugs until I was right in front of them. The thugs then looked up.

"What? You got something to say to me?" the fat thug with the vest demanded. "Or are you just gonna run away to your mommy?"

The other thugs sniggered. Then I conjured a water sword and stabbed it right into the table making the thugs jump in surprise. I then grabbed the fat man by the vest and pulled him up close to my face my eyes glaring daggers at him.

"Listen here, sir," I spoke in a low threatening voice. "I don't appreciate your tone and your attitude. So here's the deal. I don't know how guys ended up being so mean or when it started, but I ain't none of those things you and your buds say I am. I'm not a criminal, I'm not a traitor, and I'm not joining a dark guild any time soon."

A thug then shot up and was about to grab me, but I immediately backhanded him in the face hard making him yelp and fall to the ground without ever taking my eyes off of the fat man.

"Fairy Tail is my guild and I would rather kill myself than be a part of a dark guild," I went on. "So why don't you and your friends keep your fat mouths shut and go find someone else to mess with. As a matter of fact, don't do that. Anyway, if you ever, and I mean ever, insult me with your words again and in addition say anything else about my Mama or my guild again, I"ll personally come find you. Then you will feel the wrath of not just me, but all of Fairy Tail. Do you understand?"

The fat man with the vest stared at me, his eyes were wide with terror. His friends were also completely frozen not sure of what to do. The fat man with the vest nodded furiously whimpering.

"OK. OK. I'm sorry, sir! Just don't hurt me! Me and my boys won't mess with you again! Right, boys?"

The others nodded furiously in response. I glared at him a little bit longer, then I let go of his vest and dispersed my blade.

"Good. As long as you understand," I said. "You boys have a nice day now."

I then walked away keeping a neutral expression. However, inside, I was grinning from ear to ear.

"Damn that felt good."
