Chapter 95
Rescuing Sasuke
The caves were like a maze which made it somewhat hard to navigate our way while trying to avoid any Black Tiger Members as we searched through the caves. And to add to that, I had two more people coming along for the ride. I usually worked by myself, however, at this point, I could use all the help I could get.
So far as we continued to make our way through the tunnels, the only things we saw so far were nothing but Black Tiger members. When we saw them, we immediately hid or avoided them whenever we could.
"Damn! This whole thing freakin' sucks!" groaned Natsu in a whispering voice. "I hate having to hide like this!"
"Well, we don't have a choice," I spoke in a hushed whisper. "We have to stay out of sight."
"But we can't just keep avoiding them either," said Happy. "Sooner or later, they're gonna find us and then we'll be in trouble. Natsu, can't you use your sense of smell to find them or something?"
"Oh yeah! Good idea, Happy!" Natsu grinned.
He then took a few whiffs using his nose smelling the air, and he sniffed a little more. After inhaling for a half a minute or so, Natsu frowned.
"It's no use. I can't smell anything in here," the pink head complained. "The cave's too dank and musty, so I can't smell anything."
I took a few sniffs myself, and I could tell what Natsu meant. I could smell nothing but the mustiness and dankiness of the cave.
"You're right. I guess we're not gonna find Sasuke and the others that way," I said. "Maybe I can use my Aqua Sense to find them."
"Hey, yeah! That's the spell you use to find water in all living things," said Happy. "That's sure to find them."
"In that case, we'll keep a lookout for you," said Natsu giving me a thumbs up. "Just make sure that you find them."
I gave Natsu a nod and then closed my eyes and began using Aqua Sense. In my mind, I could see two shapes next to me which represented Natsu and Happy. I then focused on expanding the radius of my Aqua Sense. So far, I could sense nothing else but the other humanoid forms far away from us which were the Black Tiger members. Then as I attempted to expand my radius, even more, it suddenly stopped when I reached a little over a few feet. I tried pushing myself to make it bigger it, but it stayed at that radius.
"Hey, Willy, what's wrong?" I heard Happy speak. "You look like you have a stomach ache or something."
"I... I can't expand my Aqua Sense," I spoke as I continued. "I can't go any more than a few feet."
"Is that a problem?" I heard Natsu ask.
I let out a grunt as I tried expanding my Aqua Sense one more time. At that moment, I felt a sudden weakness hit me causing my Aqua Sense to shut down immediately, and I fell back sitting on my butt panting and sweating a bit.
"Willy! Are you alright?" Nastu asked. "What happened?"
"I... I couldn't sense anything," I said panting. "My Aqua Sense was too weak. And I think I know why... my magic's too low. I used up most of it fighting Sasuke and breaking out of that prison cell."
"Then we need to get you some water," said Natsu. "If you drank some, you'll be back to normal in no time."
"But where are we gonna find water in this place?" Happy asked. "I mean this is a mountain and there's no way that there'll be water in here."
Then as we were contemplating what to do, we heard the sounds of footsteps coming towards us. Natsu then immediately took hold of me slinging my arm over his shoulder as he carried me further down the tunnel with Happy following close behind. Then we soon came to a fork.
"Oh crap! What do we do now?!" whispered Natsu. "Which way do we go?!"
"I don't know! Just pick one!" squeaked Happy. "Either way, we have to get out of here before those Black Tiger guys find us!"
As Natsu and Happy continued to panic, I was about to tell them that we didn't have to time to panic, but then I happened to hear something. A strange whirring and clattering noise which was coming from the tunnel to the left of us. At first, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to go down this path, but if we didn't get moving, we would get caught.
"Natsu. Happy. Take the path on the left," I spoke.
"Wait, why that way?" wondered Natsu.
"No time to explain or argue," I snapped. "Hurry. Go down the path on the left, before its too late!"
Natsu hesitated for a few seconds; then he ran the path on the left as he carried me with Happy following. We kept on moving until we came to a stop in the middle of the tunnel.
"Whew. That was close," said Happy.
"But now we're probably more lost than we were before," said Natsu.
"Not exactly. There's a reason why that I told us to go this way," I said. "I heard something down this tunnel. Listen."
Natsu and Happy stopped and listened. They too could hear the sound I heard also.
"What's that noise?" wondered Happy.
"I don't know," said Natsu. "Sounds like a machine of some sort."
Natsu then looked ahead and seemed to take notice of something.
"Hey, guys. I see some light," he said pointing. "Over there."
I looked up and further down the tunnel was a small light like Natsu had said.
"Hey, you're right," said Happy. "You think that we should go towards it?"
"I say we should," I said. "But we should proceed with caution. We don't know what's over there and we should be ready for whatever is on the other side."
"We will. Don't worry," said Natsu.
The three of us then made our way towards the opening at the end of the tunnel. The light grew closer and closer until finally got through the opening. And when we did, a disturbing sight awaited us.
Before us was a working area. There were dozens of people slaving away using pickaxes or shovels to dig away the rock and dirt in the cave mining for the ethernano. Whenever a person found a chunk, they moved it to the conveyer belt which carried it away to some carts where other people took them away.
The people that were forced work looked, tired, hungry, thirsty, and exhausted. However, they weren't allowed to take a break or anything as much as a rest. The members of Black Tiger made sure of that.
Whenever one would stumble even going as far as to stop for one second, they would either get whipped or get shocked by the collar around their necks
The three of us certainly were unnerved by seeing this. Even I who had my fair share of seeing horrible stuff felt sick to my stomach.
"Well... it looks like we found where they were keeping their prisoners," I spoke.
"How horrible..." Happy whispered. "Those poor people..."
Natsu's response was a growl of anger as his face was now a snarl of rage. From the looks of it, he looked like he was about to jump right in there and beat every last one of the Black Tiger members up.
"Hey. Natsu. Easy," I whispered. "Remember, we will save them. We need to find-"
As we continued to look towards the work area below, something caught my eye just from the right. I looked, and my eyes widened in surprise. There swinging his pickaxe away over in the corner to the left of where we were standing was Sasuke.
"Willy, what is it?" asked Happy.
"Look! Over there in the corner," I said pointing. "That's him! It's Sasuke!"
Natsu turned his head to where I was pointing and saw him too. "Yeah. That's him alright," he said. "I remember that black hair. Now we have to get him out."
"But how are we gonna get him out of there?" wondered Happy. "There's way too many of those Black Tiger guys down there."
I looked around trying to see if there was anything that we could use as an escape route. Then I saw it. Far away in the corner of the worker's area, there was an abandoned piece of machinery. Behind it was a tunnel which had been long forgotten. I then had an idea.
"Guys. Over there," I said pointing. "There's a way out. Over there by the corner. And I've got an idea."
NO POV
Sasuke was swinging away at his pickaxe trying to work as hard as he could without trying to lose his wits. But even he knew that this was nothing short of hell. A hell that he most likely have no hope of escaping.
As he swung his pickaxe again, he managed to get a chunk of ethernano out from the rock and moved it aside. Then he raised it once more about to swing when he heard something fall to the ground with a thud causing him to look over to his right. He saw a man lying on the ground next to seemingly lifeless.
Two other slaves then rushed on over to help him, but then two Black Tiger members came up.
"Out of the way!" barked one.
The slaves did so, and the two Black Tiger members looked him over. The first shook him roughly and even went as far as to slap him across his cheeks a couple of times.
"Hey! Wake up!"
But the man didn't wake up. Seeing that waking him up was a fruitless effort, the two thugs each took an arm lifting him and carried him away. Sasuke knew what would happen to that man and the thought alone made his skin crawl. And the worst thing about it? These thugs didn't give a damn about him. He was already dead the moment he passed out.
As Sasuke watched them walk away with the poor soul, there was a mighty crack of a whip, and Sasuke felt a flash of pain on his back causing him to stumble.
"What are you doing standing around?" barked a voice from behind. "Stop staring and get back to work!"
Sasuke looked back and saw a male from the Black Tiger guild standing behind him glaring at him menacingly pulling his whip with two hands till it was tight. Having no other option nor the means of fighting back due to his choker, Sasuke obeyed and went back to work. He kept wondering how the hell it got to this. How did things go so wrong?
Sasuke was starting to wake up from his slumber feeling dizzy and in pain.
Then he suddenly sat up suddenly remembering. He was fighting with that kid from earlier, and then he lost to him and lost conscious. Now he found himself in a darkly lit tunnel which meant that he was now a slave working for the Black Tiger guild.
"Well, well, well. Look who's finally awake."
Sasuke looked up towards the voice and saw three members of the Black Tiger guild standing before him chuckling wickedly. Sasuke then shot up to his feet realizing where he was and prepared to attack using his palm strike magic. His charged his magic in his palm, but at that moment, he heard a couple beeps around his neck, and he immediately felt a shock go through his body causing him to scream in pain. After a few seconds, it stopped, and Sasuke fell to his knee while holding his neck in agony.
There was worse to come. For right then and there, Don Ghira came up bemused and amused to see him. When Sasuke saw him, his eyes narrowed in a spiteful glare.
"My, my. Look who's finally made it to the mines," Don Ghira said. "A pleasure to see you again, Sasuke. But I suppose goodbye would be a much better word for our meeting. After all, it's a pity that you lost. You were one of my best fighters, but I suppose that I'll have to find someone else to do my dirty work."
"Well, if that's the case, then you should just let me go," said Sasuke. "And I'll be taking my mother with me, so tell me where she is."
Don Ghira then chuckled. "Well... you've done well for your services, but... I was thinking of reconsidering. I have been looking for a fine wife, and she might be the one for me."
Sasuke's eyes went wide as he lunged for Don Ghira. He was likely to have killed him had not the two Black Tiger guild members were there who had immediately restrained him preventing him from getting any closer.
"You're going back on your word!" Sasuke yelled. "You said you'd let her go if I sent people to this godforsaken mine for you!"
"Yes... I did. Didn't I?" hummed Don Ghira. "And believe me, I'm for letting you see your dear old mommy, but you see, I do not need your services anymore. You see, thanks to you, I've got something that is sure to make me a wealthy man and I'm going to reap in the reward and get all the jewel I want. So in the meantime, enjoy working in the mines. Oh and uh... one last thing... one little detail that you probably should have learned sooner."
He then leaned in close and whispered in Sasuke's in with a cruel smile on his face.
"Never trust a Dark Guild."
Sasuke eyes went wide with despair as Don Ghira turned his heel and walked away.
"Goddamit," he cursed in his thoughts. "Why did I ever think that I could trust that man?! And now I'll never be able to save my Mother. All because of those damn wizards. I'm sorry, Father... I'm sorry, Mother..."
Suddenly, there was a loud blaring sound coming from a horn. At that moment, all the Black Tiger members that were watching over Sasuke and the prisoners left them and from the main tunnel more came more for a shift change. Sasuke sighed setting down his pickaxe hoping to get a few seconds of rest. Then suddenly he sensed someone coming from behind him. He turned around wondering what it was, but before he could react, someone punched him in the gut knocking him out cold. The person looked around making sure that no one was around to see. He then hoisted Sasuke over his shoulder and hurriedly walked into the tunnel behind the abandoned piece of machinery and disappeared into the darkness.
At that moment, one of the Black Tiger members took notice of a grunt he heard and looked back. There was no one around other than the slaves.
"That was weird," he said to himself. "I thought that I heard something."
WILLY'S POV
Happy and I were waiting further inside of the tunnel waiting for Natsu to come back with Sasuke.
Soon enough, Natsu came carrying an unconscious Sasuke.
"Hey, you guys. Special delivery," Natsu joked grinned.
"Nicely done, Natsu," I said giving him a thumbs up. "Guess you can be stealthy if you wanted to."
"But are you sure it was a good idea to knock him out like that?" Happy asked.
"Yes. The reason being was that knowing Sasuke, he would have most likely resisted Natsu considering that he doesn't like wizards," I said "So, this is just a precaution. Now let's get out of here before anyone notices he's gone."
"But are you gonna be OK walking?" wondered Happy. "You still haven't fully recovered."
"Don't worry about me. I'm fine," I replied. "I was able to get some strength back thanks to Natsu carrying me. Now let's go. And remember stealth only. No punching unless its necessary."
We then began our walk going back the way we came. At that moment, Sasuke slowly started to wake up as he groaned groggily.
"Alright, Sasuke. You're awake," I said. "Sorry if we were a little rough with you, but we didn't want to take any chances."
Sasuke eyes then snapped open now fully awake. He immediately jumped off of Natsu as he looked around frantically.
"Where am I?!" he demanded. "What happened?! What's going on?!"
"Calm down, Sasuke," I spoke calmly. "You're in an abandoned tunnel that we saw close to the work area. I know that I'm the last person that you would want to see right now, but we had to rescue you."
Sasuke then looked at me. When he did, he gave me a dirty look.
"Well, you didn't have to rescue me," he bitterly spoke as he looked away. "There's no point of you being here."
"Well, that's a fine way to say thanks for rescuing you," Natsu spoke huffily.
"Well, it's true. All you wizards ever do is fight for greed and use your magic to make people suffer," Sasuke snapped. "I bet you probably caught me so that you could turn me in!"
At that moment, before any one of us could react, Natsu slugged Sasuke right on the cheek hard knocking him straight into the wall. The fire dragon then grabbed him by the cuff of his collar roughly pulling him to his face.
"Now you listen to me, punk! Don't you dare lump us in with those bastards, get it?!" he snapped back threatening voice. "We're nothing like those guys and we sure as hell don't use our magic to hurt people for money! You say that again and I'll-"
"Natsu. Take it easy," said Happy. "There's no need to beat this guy up."
"Happy's right, Natsu," I spoke putting a hand on his shoulder. "Let him go."
Natsu glared at me still a bit cross for what Sasuke said. However, he let him go reluctantly. I then looked at Sasuke sternly.
"You listen here, Sasuke. I don't know where you got the idea that all wizards are like Black Tiger, but you couldn't be more wrong," I said. "You're right about one thing, Black Tiger is bad news, but on everything else, you're wrong. The guild we're from isn't evil nor do we care about jewel. We help people with their problems using our magic and we earn jewel for compensation. Heck, we even help people for free which is why whether you like it or not, we're gonna help you and the people who are trapped down here."
Sasuke was now surprised. "But... why? It's none of your business, yet you're willing to risk your lives for us. I don't get you guys at all."
"Is it that complicated?" asked Natsu. "It's kinda obvious. We're helping because we wanna. Isn't that reason enough?"
Now Sasuke was more baffled as well as confused. He appeared not to know what to make of this. He looked at me as if he was searching for an answer. I only answered with a smile.
"We wanna help because we can't stand by while people are suffering and in trouble," I said. Then I noticed the collar around Sasuke's neck. "Speaking of which, let's get that choker around your neck off."
I then held up my hand and summoned forth a water sword.
"But Willy, are you going to be OK doing that?" asked Happy. "You are low on magic."
"I'll be fine, Happy. I may be low on magic and a bit weak, but I can manage this much," I said. Then I looked at Sasuke. "Keep still," I added.
And with a quick swipe of my sword, the choker around Sasuke's neck then snapped in two as it fell to the floor with a clatter. The boy rubbed his neck with relief and clenched his fist testing his magic. He then smiled.
"I could have gotten myself out of that somehow," he said. "Or... in other words, thanks."
"Anytime," I smiled. "Now what do you say we go save your Mom? Do you have any idea where she is?"
"Truth be told, I'm not sure," said Sasuke. "But she's the reason that I've been working for those mongrels. They've been keeping her for ransom and been making me fight other wizards, but now he plans to keep her and make her his woman or something."
The three of us flinched upon hearing that.
"Well, if you help us stop them, we'll help you find your mom," said Natsu. "And we'll show those goons what happens when you mess with Fairy Tail and our friends."
"Aye, sir!" said Happy.
Sasuke still wasn't too trusting, but he nodded. "Well... what have I got to lose? Anything you say. But if you doublecross me too, I'll make sure you regret it!"
"The same goes for you, Bub," Natsu shot back.
Then suddenly we heard a sound which was coming further down from the tunnel that was gradually growing closer and louder. We looked, and to our horror, we saw a group of Black Tiger members charging straight towards us.
"Look! There they are!" shouted one. "And that Falconer guy's with them!"
"Get them!" yelled another. "Don't let those punks escape!"
"Oh no! They've seen us!" cried Happy. "What'll we do now?!"
"We run!" I yelled. "If we fight here, it'll cause a problem, especially with this tunnel! It could be unstable!"
We all then took off running with the thugs of Black Tiger in hot pursuit. As we ran, I couldn't help but feel a little weak again. There was no doubt that I was reaching my limit, but I had to keep running. I had to make sure that I would stay strong to get the others to safety.
We kept on running as fast as we could. As we ran, the Black Tiger guys behind us began firing magic bullets from their guns and magic blasts from their hands. We kept on running as we dodged avoiding them.
"Damn it! We're sitting ducks!" cried Natsu. "Or in this case, running ducks! Why can't I blast them with a Fire Dragon Roar?!"
"Because if you did, you'd send this whole tunnel down!" Happy yelled back. "The last thing we need is being crushed by rocks!"
"But we can't just keep running away either!" Natsu cried. "We gotta do something!"
Then Sasuke shouted. "Look! Up ahead! There's a mine cart over there!"
Sure enough, up ahead there was a sizeable rusty cart like Sasuke said. We immediately went straight towards the cart scrambling inside. Everyone that was except for Natsu who stayed outside of the cart igniting his fist on fire.
"Natsu! What are you doing? Get in!" cried Happy.
"No. I'm gonna stay here and hold them off," said the fire dragon slayer. "You guys go on ahead without me."
"Are you sure?" asked Sasuke. "There might be too many for you to take on by yourself!"
"Yeah. Besides, you need to get out of here and find Willy some water and find your mom," said Natsu. Then he grimaced his face paling with fear. "Plus, I don't wanna get inside because I'll end up blowing chunks. Just get going. I can handle this."
After a few seconds, I nodded in understanding. "Alright then. We'll leave the rest to you. Just make sure you don't die, got it?"
Natsu looked back and flashed a toothy grin while giving me a thumbs up. Then he gave our cart a mighty push as it began to roll. It was slow at first, but then it started to go faster and faster. Soon it was going very fast, and we watched as Natsu shrunk into the distance down the tunnel.
"Is he gonna be alright?" wondered Sasuke.
"Don't worry. Natsu's gonna be fine," said Happy with confidence. "If anything, I'd be more worried about those Black Tiger guys."
Then I looked ahead of us, and my eyes widened with horror. Up ahead, the tracks dipped straight down which meant that we were in for a wild ride.
"Guys! You might wanna hold onto something!" I yelled. "It's about to get a little rocky!"
At that moment, the cart entered the dip and shot straight down the tracks. The next few minutes while we were holding tightly, the cart whizzed and whooshed around the tracks, sharply turning around bends and shooting past tunnels. We screamed, and we yelled as we held on to dear life. Eventually, the cart was coming close to the end of the tracks were a set of buffers were. It had started to slow down, but it wasn't going to slow down enough for a graceful stop.
"Brace for impact!" Sasuke yelled. "We're gonna hit!"
Sasuke and I gripped the edges of the cart while Happy ducked for cover as it hit the buffers with a mighty clang. didnIt It derail, but Happy who didn't brace himself was sent flying out and hit right into the wall face first.
"Happy, are you alright?" I asked.
"Aye..." Happy groaned as he gave a thumbs up.
Sasuke and I then exited the cart, and I scooped up Happy from the wall setting him down to the ground. The blue cat's face was a bit red from the impact, but he would be OK. I then took a look around.
"Now where are we?" I wondered.
"Who knows, but anything is better than being in there," said Sasuke. We should get moving. Someone would have most likely heard that noise and will most likely come to investigate."
"Yeah. Let's go," I agreed.
And then three of us took off down a tunnel. As we walked, I tried my best to keep walking, but I started to feel weak again. I stumbled as I leaned against the wall trying to catch my breath.
"Willy, are you OK?" asked Happy worriedly. "You look even more worn out than before."
"I'm... I'm OK," I panted. "I just... need to catch my breath..."
"You shouldn't be pushing yourself so hard," said Happy. "Especially in your condition."
"What's the matter with you?" asked Sasuke. "This isn't the time for feeling tired."
"Give him a break. He's low on magic because he used it up fighting you and getting away from that Don Ghira guy," said Happy. "If we had some water, he'd be back to his magic would be back to normal in no time."
"I'm sorry, Sasuke," I said. "I know I said that we needed to move, but I suppose I guess I didn't think about my condition. You guys can go-"
Then at that moment, Sasuke lifted me to my feet. He also put my arm around his neck and even held my waist. I looked at him in surprise not expecting this. Then he looked back at me.
"If you were going to tell us to leave you behind you can just forget it," he said. "You may be a stranger and you may be a wizard, but... I'm not about to leave a man behind. Let's find you some water. "
I then smiled. "Thank you."
We both then started walking as Happy followed close behind us. As we walked, I kept an eye out just in case we ran into any more Black Tiger members. If we got caught, there was no way we could fend them off especially with me being in my condition. Which was why finding water in this place was the top priority. The problem was finding water in this mountain.
Then my thoughts were interrupted by Sasuke's voice.
"Tell me something. Why are you doing this?"
I looked at Sasuke a bit puzzled. "I don't understand. What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean," said Sasuke. "Why are you helping me? And don't say it's because it's the right thing to do or anything like that. I want to know the real reason."
At first, I didn't know why he wanted to know my reasons for helping him, and I also didn't like bringing up my past very much. However, I thought that I owed him that much, so I decided to give him my honest opinion without having to tell him too much.
"Well... I suppose part of the reason is that I want to help you," I said. "But... truth be told, I guess it's because you remind me of myself."
"How so?" asked Sasuke.
"Well... you see... I too have a mother that I cared about a lot," I said. "I loved her very much. She meant the whole world to me. But eventually, she passed away because I was powerless to save her. I won't go into detail with what happened, but... I went through a lot of hell and pain because of what happened to her and... I guess I don't want anyone to suffer the same way I did. Having their family torn away from them."
Now at this point, Sasuke was silent. He appeared to be taken aback for what I told him. His usual angry snarl softened into a neutral expression.
"I see... " he spoke quietly. "I'm... sorry to bring up something like that."
"Come on now, Sasuke, this isn't like you," I smiled. "There's no reason for you to apologize. The point is, we're gonna do what we can to help you find your mother and save the people in here. But for now, we should either find a way out or some water. At least that way, I'll be at full strength if we ever get in trouble. In the meantime, you mind if I ask about your Mother? I mean... what's she like?"
Sasuke then paused before responding.
"She's the greatest. She taught me everything I know," Sasuke said. "She's sweet, kind, caring, and one of the strongest wizard in Naoko."
As we continued to walk and talk, we then heard the sounds of footsteps. We immediately ducked down behind a large boulder as two Black Tiger members walked past us carrying buckets.
"Man... I can't believe that we're on this lousy job again."
"Stop complaining. We need this water to survive. We're lucky that there's even water at all in this mountain."
At that very mention of water, my ears perked up with interest. I then looked at Sasuke, and he seemed to read my mind. I then looked at Happy.
"Happy, we're gonna follow those guys," I whispered. "Stay close. Understood?"
"Aye, sir," said Happy as he spread his wings and floated up in the air.
And while keeping a few feet away from, we followed them.
Eventually, we followed the two to another cave in the area. The room was quite spacious, and the walls were glowing with ethernano. But the biggest thing that we noticed in the room was that there was a large lake in the middle of the cave. The mere sight of water alone made my mouth drool a bit.
The two guys then filled up their buckets while they talked. Then after that, the two then left. When the coast was clear, we then made our way to the spring.
I then immediately went straight to the water and dunked my head into the water. Gulpful by gulpful I could feel my strength and my magic slowly return to my body. I drank, and I drank until I was up to full power. I pull up my head letting out a satisfying sigh as I whipped my head getting the water out of my hair.
Then I concentrated and used my healing spell to heal whatever wounds I had. Soon enough, I was back to normal.
"That's much better!" I said. "I feel like my old self again!"
"Alright! You got a fire in your belly now!" said Happy. "Well... not fire, but you get the idea."
"Feeling better now?" asked Sasuke.
"You bet," I said. "I feel recharged and good to go. Now that I'm back to my old self again, what do you say we go and find you-"
At that moment, I sensed something. Something that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and goosebumps pop all over my skin.
It was like a terrible, overwhelming murderous intent that would kill the three of us if we let our guard down.
I knew right then and there that there was going to be trouble. I immediately looked back at Sasuke.
"Listen, you and Happy need to get out of here. Now," I spoke in a whisper.
Happy was puzzled. "Why? What is it?" he asked.
"Happy, take Sasuke and help him find his mother," I continued ignoring Happy's question. "Sasuke, if you happen to see anyone with our guild marks, they're on our side, and you can trust them. Now hurry and get out of here, I'll catch up with the two of you later."
"What is it? Is there an enemy?" wondered Sasuke. "Tell us what's going-"
"There's no time to explain!" I snapped in a harsh whisper. "Go! Hurry!"
Sasuke and Happy were still puzzled as to what was going on, but they did as I said and they left the area. I then straightened up and looked around. He was here. I could feel it.
"Come on out, Don Ghira!" I called. "I know you're in here somewhere."
At that moment, the sound of throaty and wicked laughter echoed throughout the cave. The cave also became ablaze with light which came from small light bulbs hanging from the ceiling above. I looked around trying to see where my enemy was. Sure enough from the other side of the cave, out stepped Don Ghira.
"I had a feeling that you'd be over here," he said. "You are the type of person that can't be dealt with by ordinary means. You should have stayed in your cage like a good pet because now, I have no choice but to put you down for being disobedient."
"So you think I'm a pet in need of putting down, huh?" I spoke putting up my guard. "Well, bring it! I'll take you on!"
Don Ghira then raised a brow, and he smirked in amusement as his eyes went wide gleaming with sadism. "How interesting. The prey thinks of himself as a predator. Very well. I have been feeling a bit hungry. Hungry for the flesh and bones my prey. When I'm done with you, you'll know the terror and be devoured, but the ultimate predator! The predator that is at the top of the food chain!"
