Had you asked a 16-year old Sora what her dream man was like, the description would not have matched Jo Kido.
To be fair, scrawny, blue-haired boys who play it safe and are not blessed with the highest of self-esteem are not the dream of many young women.
However, she gave him a chance. Indeed, it was unlike her dreams. It was much more soothing, much more sensible, much more serene. It was wonderful and lovely, despite not being exciting. Perhaps even because of that.
She didn't dream of this, but it didn't matter.
Sometimes, reality is better than dreams.
