As she "threatened", Sora tried forcing Jo to join a football club.
Unsurprisingly, he refused.
Surprisingly, he instead became a water boy for Sora's team. As the son of a well-known doctor, the coach soon asked Jo to nurse everyone's wounds as well.
Sora directly benefited from this arrangement: her mother stopped worrying so much, since Jo was always making sure Sora had no injuries.
However, Sora claimed that did not matter to her. She was just happy to see Jo socialise more.
That was a lie.
She was happy because Jo was now a permanent part of her world.
