(A/N)- RobStar ship week time again! I went a tad self-indulgent this year I'll admit.

Anyway, let's start things off with some fluff!

RobStar Week 2021, Day 1 - Floral Arrangements

The florist looked down at the order form with a confused scrunch of her eyes, flicking her gaze up at the fidgeting teen boy across the counter and back down again at the scrawled words.

After a long moment of awkward silence she asked, "You're sure this is what you want, honey?"

The young man ran flustered hands through his spiked-up dark hair with a sigh.
"It's—It's for my girlfriend," he explained. "We have an anniversary coming up. She's not exactly from... around here and... I just wanted to try to get her some flowers that reminded her of home."

That just made the florist's eyebrow raise even more, looking at the boy like he was a raving lunatic. She looked down at the specifications on the order form again.

Chrysanthemums and daylilies, that wasn't too awful, but paired with yellow cactus, bamboo shoots, heart's tongue fern, and staghorn sumac?

She knew there wasn't a country on Earth where all of those grew in any proximity to each other.

"What kind of girl are you dating, son?" she asked with some mild incredulity. "She gotta be some kind of alien if these plants remind her of—"

The florist cut herself off with another look back at her customer, who seemed to have a flash of mortified panic frozen on his face, which, now that she thought about it, reminded her very much of another dark-haired teenage boy she sometimes saw giving interviews on the news alongside an alien... oh.

"Oh!" she exclaimed, lighting up in recognition, her whole demeanor brightening. "Oh that makes so much more sense!" She straightened and leaned her hands on the counter with a wink. "I got you, darlin', don't worry," she promised. "And next time just come in costume, it'll make things simpler."

The boy flushed deep red in the face, clearly embarrassed at having given away his identity so sloppily, but nodded and cleared his throat with a small cough, pulling out his wallet from the pocket of his black-leather jacket.

"So uh... how much do I owe you?" he asked.

The florist grimaced, mentally tallying the totals before moving to her desktop computer and running a few calculations.

"Gonna have to special order some of the pieces. Might wanna bring a credit card when you pick them up," she warned him apologetically.

The conviction in his blue eyes was warm and sincere. "She's worth it," he said softly.

The florist grinned. "Always knew you were head over for that one," she quipped.

"Heh," the boy chuckled. "You and everyone else, apparently," he said.

"Come by around next Saturday, I should have everything in by then, okay hon?"

"All right," he said, nodding, putting away his wallet for now.

He tripped on the doorstep on his way out, blundering awkwardly into a potted amaryllis displayed just outside, and flashed an apologetic grimace back at her before disappearing down the street.

She shook her head. "Kids," she chuckled.

Raven didn't raise her head when her senses buzzed with the approaching static bundle of emotions that was her friend, merely turned another page in her book.

The quiet of the room was broken by the faint hiss! of the door, and Robin's booted footsteps sounded on the carpet, slumping their way towards the kitchen.

It felt like he was frustrated. She guessed his mission to buy Starfire the Earth proximity of her favorite Tamaranian flowers hadn't gone well.

Turning another page, too comfortable in the warm patch of sunlight on the couch she'd curled up in, she asked casually, "How'd it go?"

A bag dropped heavily on the counter.

"I outed myself to the florist," Robin confessed flatly.

Raven choked down a snorting laugh, her throat making a noise halfway between a retch and a sneeze. She leaned her book down and craned her head over her shoulder to look at him. "What?" she asked, trying not to chuckle.

"I had my cover story all prepared and then I lost confidence and choked up and said too much and..." He stopped, smearing his hands down his face. "Ugh, there's gonna be an awkward Bat-lecture about this later."

Raven could feel vibrations bubbling up in her chest, shaking under her sternum, and valiantly held them down. Laughing at Robin wouldn't make him feel any better.

Instead, she pressed, "What got you choked up?"

"Just..." His emotional signature turned softer, more quietly embarrassed. "...kind of imagining how Starfire would light up when she saw the flowers."

This time she did chuckle. "You're hopeless," she said, returning her eyes to her reading.

"Don't remind me," Robin groaned, leaning his elbows on the counter.

Starfire hummed lightly to herself as she made her way down the hall. She pressed the button to open her door and crossed at once to the window to begin pulling the curtain back further, letting in more of the late morning sunlight. It slanted across the carpet of her room, warming the purple almost to a rose pink, falling across her bed and vanity. Starfire glanced at both, then resumed her task.

Then she double-took.

Her hands stilled as she gasped. A cluster of native Tamaranian plants was bundled together in a pretty glass vase placed prominently atop her vanity table, reflected in the mirror.

Or, near enough anyways, she thought as she came over and took a closer look. Though upon closer inspection it was clear these were not the Tamaranian blossoms and greenery that she adored and missed so much, someone had evidently done a lot of research and listening to find good lookalikes.

Starfire marveled as she looked over the arrangement. Her eyes began to glisten a bit, taking in the red and orange mums, the soft pink daylilies, the vibrant red of a fuzzy plant that recalled the Gabling flower of the coastal regions.

There was a neatly folded small card next to the base of the glass container. Tremulously, Starfire reached for it, plucking it up with dazed fingers, bringing it up to her eyes to read.

Robin's insignia emblazoned the inside, and her heart clenched with adoration and a thousand other happy feelings she couldn't name.

From behind her, there came suddenly the soft sound of his throat clearing.

She turned, elated, affected smile already pulling her mouth wide, her vibrant green eyes shining.

He stood there just inside the doorway, shyly scratching at his jaw with one hand.

"H... Happy anniversary, Starfire," he said, giving her a soft grin.

The little card went flying out of her hand as she lunged across the room and grabbed him up, pinning him to the wall with her lips as she locked him with a fierce kiss.

He grunted a little at first, but melted into her embrace, looking a bit star-struck and dazed when she finally pulled back.

"They are beautiful, Robin!" she told him, her voice squeezing. "Thank you!"

She kissed him again, gentler this time, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and he decided no impending Bat-lecture could ever ruin this for him.

Worth it, he repeated to himself, letting his hands lift up to curl around her face.
