Chapter 150

The Caeli Twins

"Take this, you punks!" yelled Gray. "ICE MAKE LANCE!" The Ice Mage then unleashed a powerful blast of ice from his hand.

"FIRE DRAGON ROAR!" Natsu screamed, as he chuffed his cheeks, unleashing a torrent of flames from his mouth.

"REQUIP! LIGHTNING EMPRESS ARMOR!" Erza shouted, as she changed her armor. It was now gold and sky blue with a white tunic, her hair adorned with yellow ribbons while having her hair tied in a braid. She also now wielded a spear with two heads. "You won't get any mercy from us!" she yelled again, as she aimed with her spear and fired a powerful blast of lightning from it.

The three attacks of fire, ice, and lightning shot straight and true towards their targets. But then the twin identified as Vali stepped into the line of fire and slowly raised his hand as the attacks connected with a mighty explosion that shook the entire house, smoke billowing everywhere.

Lucy then let out a horrified scream. "What the hell are you doing?! Don't go ruining the place!" she cried. "I just decided that my number one goal in life is to buy this place back someday!"

The smoke then cleared up, and we were all shocked to find that the twins were unharmed with not even a hair out of place.

"What the heck just happened?!" I wondered. "They unleashed all those attacks, and yet there's not a single scratch on them!"

Then I saw the reason. Just in front of the twins, something glimmered and shone green in front of them like a glass wall as Vali continued to hold up his hand.

"What is that?" wondered Lisanna. "Some kind of barrier?"

"How very perceptive of you, girl," Vali said with a smirk. "My brother and I possess a kind of magic that allows me to make barriers. Barriers that can neutralize even the most powerful of spells with ease."

"I've never heard of such magic," Erza spoke with a hint of worry. "So, he was able to block all of our attacks at once by using a magic that creates?"

"If that's the case, then we're going to have a tough time getting through it," said Wendy.

"Not to mention if we're not careful, we're going to end up turning Lucy's home into a pile of rubble!" said Gray.

"Damn it! Why do you guys have to make everything so difficult!" Natsu complained crossly.

"I'll take 'em out!" Elfman roared. "That barrier may tank a couple of magic attacks, but let's see how it handles a real man! BEAST ARM: BLACK BULL!"

"Elfman, wait!" yelled Mira. "Don't go charging in!"

But Elfman had already gone charging in as a magic circle overtook his right arm, growing more muscular, black in color, and larger in size. With a mighty yell, he swung his arm straight towards Vali, but then Amon stepped in front, thrusting his hand straight at Elfman with two fingers pointed as a strange magic beam shot out. Just when it seemed it was about to impale Elfman, it suddenly morphed into a giant fist as it barreled straight into him, sending the big guy flying and crashing back first into a bookshelf, an avalanche of books falling on top of him.

"No, Elfman!" cried Lisanna.

"Are you okay?!" I called out.

"So that was Take Over Magic, eh? How disappointing and uncouth," Amon scoffed.

"CAN WE PLEASE TAKE THIS OUTSIDE?!" Lucy shrieked hysterically. "BEFORE SOMETHING ELSE BREAKS IN HERE?!"

"Come on, Amon. We don't have the time to be playing around with these people," said Vali. "That girl has the book we need, so we need to retrieve it."

The twins then turned their attention towards Lucy, who was still holding the book.

Realizing this, Lucy turned towards us. "Listen, I'm going to lead them away outside!"

"No, Big Sister! It's too dangerous!" objected Michelle.

But Lucy had already rushed over to the window, waving the book in her hand as she opened it. "Hey! Tweedledee and Tweedledum! Is this what you're after?!" she taunted. "Come and get it if you can! I double dare you!"

"You dare challenge us?" chuckled Amon. "How foolish of you. But we shall take that challenge!"

He clenched his fist, making it glow with bright yellow light, and conjured a spear made from that light. Then, he aimed and threw it with incredible force making it shoot straight towards Lucy. I made to try and deflect it, but Dan stepped in and, using his spear, knocked the spear out of the way, causing it to dissipate into nothingness.

"Nice try, but I won't let anyone hurt my darling Lucy!" Dan proclaimed. "As long as I'm here, you won't touch a hair on her pretty little head!"

"How fascinating," said Samuel. "It seems that these two are using magic I have not seen before. A kind that allows them to create projections to attack and defend."

"This isn't the time to be impressed!" Erza said as she requipped again. She was now wearing armor that comprised black shorts and stockings, metal boots, a leopard print top with armor matching covering her left arm and her knee, and a pair of cat-like ears on her head. She also wielded a pair of twin swords. "Lucy, once we get outside, you and Michelle need to make a break for it! They must not get their hands on that book! The rest of you cover the girls as they escape!"

"Come on, Erza! Let me beat up these jerks!" Natsu growled, cracking his knuckles. "I can take 'em on!"

"Natsu, your job is to keep Lucy safe along with the others! Don't worry! We can take care of them!" Mira said. "Until then, don't start fighting unless it's outside of the mansion!"

"Right!" said Lucy. "Let's go, everyone!"

Everyone ran straight for the window and jump straight through it, landing on the ground below outside. Mira and Erza then stayed behind while the rest of us ran straight towards the gate leading to the road. Then, a giant wall of yellow light suddenly appeared in front of us.

"Come now, did you honestly think that you could get away?" asked a voice. "Surely, wizards such as yourselves could give us a bit more credit."

We turned around to see that Amon was walking towards us, wearing a confident smirk as he walked up, bringing down his hand after raising it.

"Damn it! How the heck did he get past Erza and Mira?!" Gray scowled.

"Please, splitting up while your friends fought us off was the most predictable strategy you could have picked," said Amon. "We've have fought countless foes such as you and know how to deal with in these situations easily."

"Oh yeah?! Then about you deal with this?!" Natsu snarled as his fists combusted with fire.

Before anyone of us could stop him, the fire dragon slayer then pounced straight towards Amon swinging. But Amon stepped from side to side, avoiding the attacks and then nailing Natsu straight into the gut with a powerful punch of his own, sending him flying and hitting the ground.

"You bastard!" roared Gray, taking his Ice-Make stance.

"How dare you hurt our friend?!" Wendy snapped, as her magic power, in the form of a strong current, shrouded her body.

"Wait a minute!" I yelled. "Don't go charging in!"

But the two didn't listen as Gray used his Ice-Make Lance once again while Wendy attacked with a Sky Dragon Roar. Amon seeing the two incoming attacks, waved his hands apart and used his magic to create a barrier to shield himself like before.

"Now it's my turn," Vali said, as he clapped his hands together, and clenching them into fists, while bringing them to his chest.

As he did, the barrier he made broke apart into lots of pieces. Vali then pointed his hands forward, three fingers pointed, the left palm facing up and the right facing down, aiming straight at Wendy and Gray.

"Now, AURORA SHOWER!"

The pieces of the barrier then came blasting straight at Gray and Wendy. Immediately, Gray dove in front of Wendy, shielding her from the attack, and took the full brunt, screaming in pain as the attack inflicted damage as it knocked them to the floor.

"No, Gray!" cried Lucy.

Amon turned his attention toward us. "Pretty impressive, huh? I can not only use my magic to defend, but I can also use it to attack power, too," he smirked. "So, which one of you fools wants to try next? Unless you're willing to hand over the book now."

"Not a chance!" Lucy said. "So, quit asking!"

"Yeah! You heard my Lulu! She's not giving you the book!" Dan said, pointing his spear. "But if you insist on wanting to take it from her, you'd have to get by me, first! And I shall protect my true love, till the death!"

"How admirable of you, but let's see if you got the words to back up that claim," Amon spoke. "Please know that I am willing to do whatever it takes to get that book, so if you all insist on getting in my way, I won't hesitate to put you down. No matter what gender, age, or even the caliber of a wizard."

"Well, the same can be said for us!" I spoke, taking a stance. I then looked back. "Lisanna! Look after Lucy and Michelle! We'll take care of this guy!"

"I shall fight as well!" Dan spoke bravely. "No one threatens to hurt my Lucy and gets away with it!"

"I usually prefer not to fight in such a barbaric manner," said Samuel, as he pushed up his glasses. "But in a case such as this, I have no choice in the matter."

"No way! You're going to fight?!" Happy exclaimed. "But you're an exceed! In case you haven't noticed, we're not exactly the kind of species that fights, unless you include Lily. Not to mention, you're a bit of a bookworm."

Then, Samuel began to change. His body grew taller and more muscular, his scarf practically became a cape, and his wings grew along with him. "I wouldn't be so worried, Happy," the transformed exceed said as he brandished his claws. "I think you'll find that I'm a lot more than just a bookworm with wings."

"What the heck?!" exclaimed Happy. "That guy's got a battle form just like Lily!"

"Whoa! That's pretty manly for a cat!" said Elfman.

"Of course I do. Almost any exceed has this ability," Samuel said. "Now then, I believe it's time we make our move. According to my calculations, we have a high chance of an opening if we attack together, but we'll have to get the injured out of the way, as well."

"Lucy! You and the others help Gray out of the way!" I called out to the blonde. "Wendy, you hurry and heal up, Gray! The rest of us will keep this guy busy!"

"You got it!" Lucy acknowledged. "Let's go, Michelle! Lisanna!"

"Right!" said Michelle and Lisanna.

The girls, along with the exceeds then rushed over to their friends to try and help them while I, along with the others, stood ready to fight Amon, while he stood there, calmly watching us. Lucy and the others had just gotten over to Wendy and Gray, when Amon suddenly leaped into the air, punching his fists together and spreading them apart, conjuring an array of arrows made of his Projection Magic. Then he swung them, bringing them forward, making the arrows to shoot straight towards us and Lucy's group.

As everyone else scattered to dodge, I made towards Lucy's group to attempt to defend them, but Dan suddenly appeared in front of the group and raised his shield. The arrows were not only blocked, but they somehow were absorbed into it. Then, with a cocky smirk, Dan aimed it straight at Amon, and the same arrows that were blocked came shooting out from it, raining down on Amon kicking up dust.

"What the hell was that?!" exclaimed Elfman. "That Dan guy not only blocked the attack, but he somehow used the same attack!"

"No, he blocked the attack and then sent it back at him," I said in amazement. "But I've never seen a shield do that before."

"That's because my shield is quite the special one!" Dan proudly said, showing off his shield. "This baby is known as Richochet. It can take whatever attack you throw at it, and then send it right back at you. Pretty cool, huh?"

"I'll say it is!" agreed Lucy, sounding impressed. "Nice going, Dan! I didn't know you had something like that!"

"If you liked that, there's more where that came from my darling Lucy!" Dan spoke with a lovesick grin. "I've got lots of other things that make me look cool to show you, so make sure you're watching your knight in shining armor, okay?!"

"Will somebody please shut this guy up already?" I growled to myself in frustration.

Then we heard Amon from amongst the smoke as it slowly cleared away, revealing him. "I must admit, you caught me by surprise with that shield of yours, but don't expect that to happen again."

"That's what you think!" Elfman growled. "Let's see how you measure this! TAKE OVER BEAST SOUL!"

Elfman then leaped into the fray, transforming into his Beast Soul form, grabbing a tree from the side of the road and threw it straight towards Amon. Amon clenched his fist and used his magic to create a giant hand to catch the tree and throw it out of the way. Taking advantage, I came shooting towards him, cloaking my hands with water using Blade while Samuel flew from above brandishing his claws. When he got to Amon first, he attacked with a flurry of swipes.

While Samuel was keeping Amon busy, I leaped into the air just behind him and swung with my blade to catch him by surprise. But as Amon blocked one of Samuel's claws with one hand, he threw his claw away and stepped to the side, dodging me, and making Samuel my accidental target. Thankfully, Samuel ducked out of the way just in time, but Amon seized this chance to give to create another giant fist and punched both of us at the same time, sending us flying and tumbling to the ground.

"Sorry about that, Samuel!" I apologized as I got up. "You okay?"

"I am unharmed, Willy," said Samuel. "This foe is stronger than we thought, but we must protect the book!"

Samuel then took to the air getting back into the fight. I was about to follow suit, when suddenly, a shock of pain ran through my head as my neck twitched while I shuddered, holding my head as I felt woozy.

"Wh-What's going on?! Why do I feel so strange?"

At that moment, I heard a small voice in my head.

"Destroy. Destroy. You must Destroy."

I shook my head, trying to get the voice and the pain out of my head, but they seemed to grow the more I resisted. I then looked back towards the fight to see that things still weren't going our way. Natsu, Elfman, Samuel, and Dan were still trying their best to land a single hit on Amon, but to no avail. Then, my eyes fixed solely on Amon as he continued to avoid and counter all of their attacks. The more I stared at it, the more I felt angry with how cocky he was.

The dull aching pain in my head, slowly began to turn into anger as I balled my hands into fists, feeling power welling up inside of me. This guy was attacking and hurting my friends for no reason at all, and he was enjoying it.

"Destroy. Destroy the enemy. Any enemy that threatens your way of life must be eliminated."

The voice came again, and my hands slowly became consumed by ooze as I growled in anger, wanting nothing more than to make this guy hurt. This guy was getting too cocky, and someone has to put him in his place. Without a second thought, I shot straight towards Amon, letting out a scream as I cocked my fist back, and when Amon looked back, I swung with all of my might and rage intending on breaking his jaw.

My fist slammed straight into Amon, and I felt my fist collide straight with his jaw, sending him flying across the area while crashing through a tree. I couldn't help but smirk to myself, feeling satisfied that I was able to land a good hit, but my mood soon changed. Amon was back on his feet in a few seconds, but this time, his clothes had tears, and his body had bloody scratches and wounds all over. But the one thing that stood out from him most of all, was that he had strange black cracks going across his face leading up to his eyes that now were glowing in an unusual green color.

Taking advantage of his surprise, I clenched my fist, making the ooze on my hands morph into large and giant fists and then shot them towards Amon. Amon jumped into the air, dodging them as they hit the ground, and then used his magic to summon an array of arrows and launched them straight at me. Immediately, two tendrils sprung forth from my back and whipped around at a rapid speed deflecting the arrows with ease. I then landed back on the ground, retracting my fists and tendrils as I kept my eyes fixed on Amon while he gazed back at me.

"Well, this is certainly unexpected," Amon said. "I never imagined that someone like you would have those abilities. If I didn't react in time, I would have ended up getting my face seriously messed up. How interesting. I may need to start taking this a bit more seriously."

He wiggled his fingers as they began to glow yellow with his magic; only this time, I saw that there was a tinge of black in them. Sensing that he was going to attack, I changed the ooze around my hands again, this time into a pair of blades. Amon quickly conjured up a yellow and black spear, and our weapons collided with a mighty metallic clang. I then swiped and swung, and Amon did the same matching my speed, the two of us slicing and dicing at each other, wanting to cut each other to ribbons. Our swords collided again, and the two of us forced each other back, gaining distance in a single bound.

Amon then made several signs with his hands and brought them to his sides. A large pair of spiked balls linked with chains formed around his hands, and he began to swing them around. I clenched my fists, morphing them into giant claws as numerous tendrils sprouted out from my body, raring to continue the fight as I smirked with glee. Then, Vali came down from above and landed right next to his brother.

"Vali? What are you doing here?" asked Amon. "I thought that you were dealing with those girls."

"I sensed that you were about to use your abilities, Amon," replied Vali. "So, I came here as fast as I could." He then looked across to me, and then flinched. "Hold on. That boy. Is he...?"

"Yes, he seems to possess it as well," said Amon. "He almost killed me not too long ago, which is why I had to use a bit more force than necessary."

"I see," said Vali. "In that case, then I think it would be best to call for a strategic retreat, my brother."

"You running away?!" I barked. "Just when I was about to kick your sorry butts?!"

"Don't sound so self-assured, boy," Vali spoke coldly. "We're not leaving out of fear. Consider yourselves lucky that we've decided to spare you."

"And don't worry. We'll be back to settle things!" Amon snarled. "And when we meet again, it shall be your last!" He glanced behind me. "And if I were you, girl, I would be careful of whom you're allied with, for they just might end up being your enemy!"

And with that, the Caeli Twins raised their hands clapping them together, and using their magic, released a powerful burst of green and yellow light that shone so intensely that I had to shield my eyes. The light then dimmed, and when I was able to see again, the Caeli twins had disappeared. Knowing this, I felt the power inside me die down as my magic dissipated into my body.

Then I heard Elfman. "Hey! Willy! What the heck was that?!"

"Yeah! How the heck did you do that?!" Natsu also cried. "That was freaking incredible!"

Immediately, I felt my body tense up, quickly realizing that I had used the ooze right in front of Natsu and the others, and they had seen everything. Knowing that they were now going to be asking questions now that they've seen it, I quickly thought up a lie.

"Oh! Y-You like it? It's a new spell that I came up with!" I said. "I call it, uh, Water Dragon: Black Ink Mode?"

"What kind of a name is that?" Michelle asked.

"It sounds kinda cool to me," said Happy. "Besides, at least he was able to scare those guys away."

Just then, Erza and Mira came running up.

"Is everyone alright?" asked Mira. "That Vali fellow gave us the slip."

"Yeah, we're fine. More or less," said Carla. "Although, those twins just left not too long ago after two made fools out of us."

"Well, at least they didn't take the book," said Wendy. "That counts for something, right?"

"Yeah, despite getting our butts handed to us," muttered Gray.

"Don't worry. The important thing is that we kept the book safe," said Erza. "And if those two ever show up again, we'll be ready for them."

NO POV

As everyone else nodded in agreement with Erza's statement, Lisanna was the only one who hadn't said a word, her eyes never leaving Willy. She, like everyone else, had seen Willy use that mysterious power, and while he said that it was a new move that he came up with, Lisanna knew that it wasn't what he said it was. As she stood there in silence, flashbacks of when Willy went berserk back on Tenrou Island went through her mind as she began to worry.

At the same time, Carla was pondering herself about what Amon said to Lucy. "I wonder what he could have meant when he said that," she thought. "From the way, he was talking; it sounded more like a warning rather than a threat. And then there was that strange change to his power when Willy jumped in."

Then, as she looked across to Willy, she saw a series of visions. First, she saw Byro with his back turned bringing back his staff as he prepared to strike. Next, she saw Mirajane wearing a grim expression until she opened her mouth, appearing to be yelling. Then, she saw an immensely large and mechanical object that was reminiscent of a fish floating about in a darkened black sky. Finally, she saw a shadowy humanoid figure. Its eyes were glowing a malevolent emerald green as it glared fiercely at her as let out a bellowing roar, its power ripping the earth apart in the process, blowing away everything in sight.

When the vision ended, Carla couldn't help but gasp with shock and fright, which didn't go unnoticed by Wendy.

"Carla, what's the matter?" asked Wendy. "You look like you're scared."

The white exceed looked up at Wendy and shook her head. "It's nothing. Don't worry, Wendy. I'm fine."

Carla may have been trying to reassure Wendy, but inside, she couldn't help but feel frightened as well as worried about what she had seen. However, one thing she knew for sure was that whatever she had seen, it couldn't have been a good thing.
