Chapter 1:

Doctors POV:

The Tardis has finally just materialised across a river facing a giant futuristic city, flying cars zoom overhead humming faintly. I look at Rose who is breathing it all in, literally.
"That's amazing. I'll never ever get used to this. Never. The different ground beneath my feet, different sky… what is that smell?" She says swinging her arms wide and spinning embracing the feeling of a new world, I smile. Taking a large breath of the air in "Apple grass" I sigh.
My gaze pans over the side of the river we have landed on, the Tardis is parked safely on a nice grassy knoll. "Yeah.. yeah," I say to her rambling on in the background as I notice the hospital in the distance. We walk for a little while along the grassy park, at least I assume it is until we find ourselves a nice bench.
We start talking about adventures and stories…

"So, the year is five billion, the sun expands, the earth roasted." I start, she crinkles her nose.
"Yeah that was our first date" She laughs, the sunlight twinkling her golden hair, anyways I'm getting sidetracked.
"Yeah, we had chips. So anyway, the planet is gone, all rocks and dust, but.." I start to get up for emphasis "The human race" I point at her and swoop in one clap with enthusiasm, "You live on, spreading across all the stars, as soon as the earth burns up, they get all nostalgic, big revival moment." I pause looking over at the city across the river " The humans find this place, same size as the Earth same air, same orbit. Lovely. Call goes out, humans move in." I say sitting back down beside her swooping my arm around her shoulders.

"What's the city called?" She says pushing me off laughing.
"New New York"
"Oh come on" she retorts snorting slightly.
"IT is, it's the city of NEW new York." I pause getting back up and she follows as I start walking " Strictly speaking, it's the fifteenth New York since the original, so that makes it New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York." I saw noticing she had lagged behind me just stood there staring at me "What?" I ask.
She just looks at me "You're so different"
"New, new Doctor I joke back"

? POV:
I feel weightless suspended in blackness, my head fuzzy. Though I can feel my eyes are shut I can sense lights being shone on me, muffled speaking, my body aches sore and numb and again darkness back into my dreams.

Time skip/ Doctor POV:
I stand slunched over the control deck of the Tardis, Rose has gone home temporarily to visit her mother Jackie. Which leaves me alone in my thoughts pondering over today's events at the hospital. My mind keeps reeling back to the face of Boe's strange remarks about not being alone. It could mean that I have Rose, there is no point denying now that we have a very close… bond. But Boe wouldn't have made such a point… an emphasis on you are not alone.
The thought of it excites me but makes me sick, I hate being alone in the Tardis with nothing but the humming and the noise of my thoughts.
I heard the Tardis door unlocking, and Rose comes in with a bin bag of what I assume is freshly cleaned laundry by the smell of lavender following it.
"That was quick," I remark taking the bag and chucking it safely down below.
"Oi!" she says running to the bannister leaning over it, her hair framing her face as she looks down. " I was four hours," She said getting back up, moving her hair away from her face.
"Oh really," I said quickly "Ready for another trip?" I ask cheerfully and she responds with a toothy smile.

As the Tardis starts up I feel a weird feeling in my head, a migraine I shake it off to be.
"Hold On," I tell rose with a toothy grin, she holds on tight to the deck next to me as we shake, it seems the Tardis is changing course and dictating today's adventure, I do love a good surprise.

As we arrive we step outside, the air is slightly chilly, still Earth though.
"Oh, great more rain, nowhere exotic today then" She shudders going back inside the Tardis for her coat, she comes back out with her navy blue leather coat. I feel another pulsing headache hit me like a wave, I didn't mean to outwardly show it and stagger. Which caused Rose to look at me concerned. "You okay? Been drinking while I've gone?" She laughs but I see the concern hidden in her eyes, but that's what I Lo- Like about rose, she knows exactly how to handle a situation and keep it fun.
"Yeah yeah its nothing, bit of a weird headache that's all," I say shrugging it off
I look around, we seem to be in a sort of industrial complex, white factories with chimneys burning.. sulphates? A hint of S02, maybe a dash of H2S, very industrial stuff nothing particularly out of the ordinary. I notice Rose is looking around, maybe a tad bored.
"Well then, let's see if there's anything…Alien shall we," I say wiggling my hands at her at the world alien causing her to laugh at me, we start walking towards the main entrance to the large white factory.

Two armed bodyguards stand outside a glass entrance to the white factory, armed guards is enough to both frustrate me and intrigue me, on one hand, I hate guns, I don't particularly like those who use them either, but also guards mean that something important is usually happening here. They notice us sauntering up to them, the guard on the right wearing a red beret holds his gloved hand out saying stop.
I hold up my Psychic paper "Routine inspection sir" He looks at us both after glancing at the paper and presses the green button beside the valet looking desk next to him. We enter and I feel it again like a heartbeat in my head, only this time I see a vision, a dream? Red rolling hills of grass and a burnt orange sky. And a very distinctive landmark only I should know, the mountains of solace and solitude. Someone is projecting their dreams subconsciously, and it is of Gallifrey.
"Doctor... Doctor?" Rose asks, I notice I am sat down on a chair with a cup of water in my right hand.
"Are you okay?" She asks bizarrely looking at me. "Oh, course I am," I say downing the drink and getting up.
"You were just stood there for a while, like a statue," She said.
"Oh right yeah, headaches," I say to her skirting around the subject.

'What exactly is this place I think to myself, nothing seems particularly out of the norm, maybe a chemical factory but there is clearly something more. I feel my hearts speed up, giddy, nauseous. There is possibly someone in here that has been to my world, who at least has seen pictures of it. No… the dream was so vivid, someone has definitely been there.

A woman with dark brown hair swept up into a sort of beehive walked towards us, lab coat, and clipping board. "We haven't scheduled a routine inspection for at least a year," She says franticly flipping through her clipboard before straightening her glasses and looking us up and down. And you are "Doctor" I quickly interject "And this is my assistant, Rose" Rose then waved slightly at her.
"I see…" She says looking at me " And who sent you here" she says chewing the side of her cheek, I get my paperback out "The higher-ups, they aren't particularly pleased with the progress either" I say hoping the hunch works out. Panic sets in her eyes. Bingo.
"Ah yes I see Doctor, Miss Rose, We will go to the laboratory immediately."

Rose POV:
The Doctor is acting strange, this new doctor, same old Doctor… I think to myself, watching him walk, his mannerisms are the same but ever so different its strange. But I can't help but feel like he isn't telling me something, he is keeping something from me I can see it. His headaches, dizzy spells and time to time I see him slightly loose footing, maybe he isn't finished regenerating, or maybe our last adventure Cassandra did something to his head.
We walk along several brightly lit corridors, white, clean pristine. Until we came to the back set of double doors that's when we noticed the increase of guards.
The woman who we are following, I don't actually think she gave us her name. Showed them a red clearance pass and they stepped aside and the doors slid to the sides opening.
That's when I noticed the Doctor acting strange again, he held his head, looked back at me and tried to pretend he was just scratching his head. Strange.

This corridor was different, filled with people wearing blue face masks, lab coats holding glass beakers and the room was full of different bubbling liquids and people buzzing around.

? POV:

Something feels wrong, my head stirs again in this weightless sleep. I hear the muffled voices again louder and the beating of my hearts. I feel as though I am waking up but something is sitting on top of me and I'm unable to open my eyes, I feel a tube attached to both of my arms and cold liquid going through the tubes coursing through my aching body rushing throughout my veins and I slowly go back to sleep.
I hear a voice in my dream this time, a male voice grumpy, startled by my presence he can feel me connecting to him. I try and open my eyes, It hurts. The bright lights hurt, but I open them, feeling I'm encased in some sort of liquid it slightly burns my already tired eyes. I see through the liquid the glass, there are people there I think. Fuzzy outlines and shapes of people, and the voices are louder than usual. One of them shines another bright light into my eyes, I didn't like that.
I can feel more cold liquid travel through the tubes into my arms but It's not lulling me to sleep.

Doctor POV:

It's been over an hour in this weird lab, there's been surely some advanced technology, they seem to keep encasing Alien-like things into large glass tanks, nothing I need to worry about too much right now. I need answers to find the person here who knows of Gallifrey. The lady rambles on quite a bit about how they're trying to harness power from the alien technology they have to manage to scrounge, however, she seems particularly enthusiastic about a species they've been currently working on, although she does describe it as humanoid which makes me slightly worried.
"There is just something not right with this place Doctor" Rose whispers to me, I nod to her trying to let her know that the woman is trying to listen in on us.

At last, she brings us to the last room on the floor plan a large circle type of auditorium. We walk inside and the room has benches going all around it, and in the middle of the room is like a stage, a lab, with a glass tank that is larger than the rest. My eyes meet hers inside the tank and I feel a large telepathic connection with someone before I felt my knees buckle and I fell to the floor. This felt nostalgic like a memory I've felt before, not in at least half a century. Within minutes I feel myself stirring propped up on one of the benches going around the door facing the glass tank. I feel the connection reaching out to me and I reach back hesitantly. I hear her voice now faintly, a small girl, No… this can't be, a time tot. I gasp and run to the tank, which causes some outrage from the lab rats monitoring her. I see tubes attached all around her, she is in stasis but my presence has woken her up. I feel her mind unable to make out words but reaching out to me, we have bonded.

"WHAT IS THIS," I say turning to the woman who led me in. "Doctor?" Rose asks, but I can't contain these emotions, Raw, Fury anger and confusion. How is there a time tot here, how did she survive, how long has she been on earth and how long have they been using her and abusing her as an energy source.
"The source we were discussing comes from this alien" The woman retorted offended.
"THAT IS A CHILD" I shout at her messing with the machine with my sonic screwdriver.
"WHAT! DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!" she shouts at me running to get guards
"STOP DON'T YOU DARE," I say pointing my screwdriver at her pretending its some sort of alien weapon I make them all sit down on the front row benches as I run over to the doors and seal ourselves in temporarily, I can't deal with guards right now I need to sort my head out and think of a plan. I get them to sit down, but Rose looks at me worried and confused.

I get the woman jabbering on in the background about how I shouldn't mess with it, but I manage to get the machine to slowly open outwards, the liquid coming out like thick watery goo, the girls body awake but limp. I Catch her into my arms. Beside the tank is a metal lab trolley with equipment, I pick up the stethoscope to make sure I press it against her chest… two hearts. She is a time tot no doubt about it, I feel angry tears slightly well up in my eyes. Complex non linear thoughts, I think of all the Time tots I had to leave behind when I- No. How is she alive, all the time tots were evacuated to the academy how did she end up here…
No time for that now I thought, taking off my trench coat and wrapping it around the shivering girl, shes lost consciousness from our bond that's started to take hold.

I motion Rose to come towards me, I get her to hold the girl, She looks like a human age of maybe early tweens maybe 12? Young not even regenerated once.

"Now you, I say to the group of scientists I want answers…"
