Pregnant (DCAU)
Diana poked her head outside of the transporter room, looking left and then right to make sure that the coast was clear. Seeing no one around, she quickly exited with a certain destination firmly in mind. She tightened her hold on her bag, not wanting anyone to get a glimpse of what was inside.
She glanced back over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't being followed, turning the corner and running directly into the Man of Steel. She stumbled backwards, her bag slipping free from her grasp and spilling out all over the floor.
"I'm so sorry, Di," Superman apologized as he knelt down beside her to help her pick up the contents of her bag.
"It's okay," she told him as she quickly tried to gather up her purchases, worried that he would notice what she had bought.
"Wow, you've got a lot of snacks," he commented as he handed her two boxes of double stuffed Oreos before reaching for a smaller box.
"Just…stocking up," she tried to brush it off, her gaze nervously staring at the small box in Kal's right hand. She silently prayed that he wouldn't look at it, just handing it back to her without realizing what it actually was. That would definitely make things very awkward. "I just had a craving for sweets."
"Oh, mint chocolate chip ice cream," he said, noticing the large tub of ice cream but not what he was holding in his hand.
"What can I say?" she replied with a nervous chuckle. "It's my favorite."
"Looks like you've got enough snacks for a party," he told her as she picked up a large bag of Cheetos.
"No…no party," she murmured, biting at her bottom lip as she glanced at the small box in his hand. "Just really hungry."
Superman sat back on his heels, holding the box in both hands as he studied his best friend. "Are you all right, Diana?" he asked. "You seem really stressed."
Diana looked up at him, brushing her raven hair out of her face. "No, I'm great…really," she tried to tell him. "Actually, I've never been better."
"It just feels like forever since we've gotten to spend any time together lately," he replied. "You're hardly around anymore. Maybe we could have lunch sometime soon or how about a movie night at my apartment?"
"That sounds great," she agreed with a forced smile as she began to reach for the box in his hand only to retract it when he moved his hands to his lap. "I've just been really busy lately, but I promise we'll find time to get together soon."
"I'd like that," he said with a grin. "Maybe we could coax Bruce into joining us for a movie night."
Diana chuckled as she stuffed her snacks back into her bag. "That would take a miracle."
"That's true, but I'm sure you could talk him into it," he thoughtfully said. "He seems to be more agreeable when it comes from you."
"I don't know about that," she replied with a roll of her eyes.
"Everyone knows it, Di," he pointed out. "You're the only one he ever listens to."
"That's just ridiculous, but I'll see what I can do," she promised.
"Great!" he exclaimed, finally looking down at the box in his hands. All the color instantly drained from his face. "Diana, this is a pregnancy test."
"It is?" she nearly squeaked in response.
"Yes, it is," he confirmed, looking up at her in stunned disbelief. "Is this yours?"
"No," she adamantly stated, snatching it of his hands and quickly getting to her feet. "It's for a friend."
Superman stood to his feet, staring at her as if trying to determine if she was really telling him the truth or not. She'd been absent from the Watchtower more frequently for the last couple of months. "Diana, if you really think that you're—"
"Kal, it's for a friend," she swore. "Now, I really have to go. I'll see you later."
"Bye," he muttered as she hurried down the hallway, reeling over the thought that Diana could be pregnant.
He didn't even know that Diana was seeing someone. Whoever it was he better treat her right, doing the right thing by marrying her if he got her pregnant. Anything less than that and he would have to answer to him.

Green Lantern was on a mission to find the Amazon princess, but it was proving to be a difficult mission. Someone had told him they saw her in the commissary. Someone else had said the Monitor Womb. A civilian staff member told him he'd last seen her heading towards the infirmary.
He couldn't figure out why Diana was being so elusive or why she was in the infirmary. It was technically her day off, so he knew she hadn't been out on any missions. He had a niggling feeling that something was going on, but he couldn't figure out for the life of him what it was.
He quickened his pace to the infirmary with hopes of catching her before she disappeared again. Superman told him that he had run into her this morning. He had seemed really rattled about something concerning Diana, but again he had no idea what it was.
Turning the corner, he spotted Diana coming out of the infirmary with a box in her hand. Finally, he could talk to her. "Hey, Rookie!" he yelled, knowing how much it got under her skin.
Diana turned and gave him a glare, her free hand finding her hip. "What's going on, John?" she asked.
"That's what I'd like to know," he told her. "I've been looking all over for you."
"Why didn't you just contact me on my comm?" she questioned him, trying to appear completely innocent while attempting to hide the box in her hand without looking suspicious. It was beyond difficult. Bruce always told her that she was horrible liar.
"I did—three times," he said with a frown. "You didn't respond to any of my hails."
"Maybe there's something wrong with my commlink," she suggested, hoping he believed it as she averted her eyes. "I'll have to get it checked out. Was there something that you needed?"
"I was wondering if you'd be free next week to help me replace some of the solar panels on the Watchtower," he requested. "That last meteor shower really did a number on the Watchtower."
"Sure thing," she confirmed, rocking back and forth on her heels. "Just let me know when."
John studied her for a minute, trying to figure out what was wrong with her. She wasn't quite acting herself. It was obvious she was trying to hide something. "Is everything okay?"
"Why wouldn't it be?"
"You don't seem to be acting like yourself," he replied. "Are you feeling all right?"
The infirmary doors slid open, J'onn exiting. "Diana, you forgot the nausea medicine."
"Oh, thanks, J'onn," she replied, sheepishly hooking a lock of hair behind her ear.
"Take care," he said before reentering the infirmary.
"Diana, are you okay?"
"I'm just really hungry," she told him, using the box in her hand to point over her shoulder. "I'm just about to head to the commissary to get something to eat."
"I'll walk with you," he decided. "I was heading there myself."
"Oh, well…I was going to stop by quarters first to drop this off."
"What is it?"
"Just some vitamins that J'onn wants me to take," she tried to tell him, brushing it off as if it was nothing.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes, of course," she insisted. "I'm great in fact. Couldn't be better."
"Diana, you're an immortal Amazon princess…you don't get sick," he pointed out, trying to get a glimpse of the box in her hand. The box was pink. He was able to make out the letters "prenat". It was all very odd.
"Oh, I'm not sick," she quickly replied. "I just want to make sure I'm at my best so I'm going to take my vitamins."
Nausea medication…vitamins…prenatal vitamins? Diana was pregnant. He schooled his features, not wanting to give away the fact that he knew her secret. "If you ever need anything, you know you can always come to any one of us, Diana. We're all here for you no matter what it is."
"I know," she said with a nod as she began to walk away. "Thanks, John. Let me know when you want to work on those solar panels."
John stood there, dumbfounded by the discovery he'd just made. Diana was pregnant. It was mind-blowing to think about especially since he didn't think that she was even seeing anyone. Who was the father? He needed to talk to Superman right away to see what he knew.

Diana walked down the hallway with a large box of crackers in her hand. Her stomach rumbled, reminding her that she never did make it to the commissary to get something to eat. She'd been too busy today. She glanced down at the box in her hands, deciding it wouldn't hurt to eat just a few of them.
She opened up the box and pulled out a couple of crackers. She smiled and nodded at a couple of fellow Leaguers as they passed by, trying to appear nonchalant. She needed to talk to Bruce soon, but he wasn't going to be on the Watchtower for another hour for the Founders' meeting.
Eating another cracker, she spotted Flash coming towards her. She knew that he would want some of them, but she couldn't share with him. She needed them for a particular reason, but she couldn't talk about it with anyone at that moment. It was still a secret.
"Hiya, Wondy!" Flash called as he approached, eating a sandwich that smelled absolutely terrible. "What are the crackers for? You're not feeling sick, are you?"
"Wally, I don't get sick," she pointed out, wrinkling up her nose as she took a step backwards. "And what is that that you're eating? It smells awful."
"It's just a sardine sandwich," he claimed with a shrug of his shoulders. "Why are you eating saltine crackers if you're not sick? Are you pregnant? You can't be pregnant. You're not even dating anyone."
"And how would I get pregnant?" she asked with a smirk, trying not to draw a deep breath for fear of smelling his sandwich.
"You see when a guy and girl love each other they…"
"I know how it works, Wally," she told him with a laugh, holding up a hand to stop him. "I'm not naïve."
"Oh, yah…I know," he replied, reaching into the box and pulling out a couple of her crackers. "Just wanted to make sure you knew. Wouldn't want you to accidently get pregnant."
"Finish eating that sandwich or I'm going to have to leave before I vomit," she warned him.
Wally downed the rest of his sandwich with a gulp, casting a wary eye on the Amazon princess. "I gotta run anyway," he said. "I need to see Fire. We're going out this Friday night."
"I'll see you later at the meeting."
"Yah…you sure you're, all right?"
"Wally, I'm fine," she assured him. "I'll see you in an hour."
Wally looked her up and down before finally nodding. "See you then," he muttered as she walked away.

Flash raced into the conference room to find John and Superman talking, both wearing grim expressions that didn't settle any of the worry that the speedster was feeling in the pit of his stomach. It was clear that something was going on and he wasn't going to like it.
"Supes! Supes!" he yelled as he stopped before the pair. "I think Wondy is pregnant! We've got to do something!"
"What makes you think that?" Superman demanded to know, his brow furrowing with concern.
"She was eating saltine crackers and she couldn't stand the smell of my sardine sandwich," Flash revealed.
"I can't stand the smell of your sardine sandwiches either," John told him with a disgusted look. "Does that mean I'm pregnant too?"
"No!" Flash exclaimed. "Eating saltine crackers…morning sickness…nauseated by smells. Hello? Do I have to spell it out? It spells knocked up!"
"Okay…okay," Superman said, trying to calm Wally down. "Diana will tell us she's pregnant when she's good and ready. Until then, it's none of our business."
Wally stared at the Man of Steel for a long moment. "You think she's pregnant too, don't you?"
"I never said that," he claimed.
"You didn't say that you didn't think she was pregnant," John pointed out. "Look, I saw her coming out of the infirmary with a box of prenatal vitamins. You said you saw her this morning with a pregnancy test and enough snacks to stock the commissary. I think that pretty much confirms it."
Superman visibly grimaced as his eyes fell closed. "Just because Diana had a pregnancy test, prenatal vitamins, and saltine crackers does not mean that she is having a baby," he adamantly stated.
"Well, she's not having a puppy," Flash groused. "I just want to know who did this to our Wondy. I want names and I want details."
"Details?" John questioned him with a scowl. "I think we all know how it happened. We just don't know who."
"She's not seeing anyone I know of, but she hasn't been around the Watchtower as much lately," Clark thoughtfully said.
"This is not right," Wally grumbled. "Wondy is our innocent little princess. Someone has corrupted her and I want to know who."
"She's a grown woman, Wally," Clark reminded him. "She has the right to do whatever she wants."
The doors slid open at that moment revealing the Dark Knight of Gotham. All three of them froze with his appearance. "Don't tell him…don't tell him," Wally rambled. "He'll freak out and go all terrifying on everyone if he finds out. You know he's in love with her. If he finds out, he'll go berserk."
"Tell me what?" Batman darkly rasped, glaring at the trio standing on the other side of the conference room.
"Nothing…absolutely nothing," Wally swore as Batman began to close the distance between them. "Just talking about the weather. It's been unseasonably warm, hasn't it?"
"You're lying," Batman stated.
"It hasn't been unseasonably warm?" Wally asked.
"Bruce, it's nothing to worry about," Clark told him. "We don't even know if it's true or not."
"What?"
"Diana is pregnant!" Flash blurted out, zipping to hide behind Lantern out of fear of Batman's reaction.
"What's your proof?" he asked.
"I saw her with prenatal vitamins," John told him.
"I saw her this morning with a pregnancy test and a lot of snacks," Superman revealed.
"And I saw her eating saltine crackers," Flash replied. "You only eat those if you're sick or pregnant and she's not sick."
"Did you ever stop to think it might not be hers?" Batman demanded to know.
"Well, yah…we kinda of thought maybe—" Wally babbled, coming out to stand beside Lantern.
"And the fact that she's not dating anyone?"
"I guess that's a good point," John muttered.
At that moment, Diana and Shayera walked into the conference room, Shayera immediately capturing John's attention. "Can I speak to you for a moment?" she asked.
"I'll be right back," John said, stepping outside of the conference room with her.
"What's going on?" Diana asked as she looked at the three heroes.
"Nothing," Clark replied a little too quickly. "Just about ready to get the meeting started. Let's take our seats."
J'onn fazed through the floor, appearing in his seat as they settled into their chairs as well. "Do we have very much on the agenda to talk about?" Diana asked.
"Just a couple of things we need to discuss," Clark told her, Shayera and John reentering the room and taking their seats.
"Before we begin, I'd like to make an announcement," John said with a beaming smile plastered on his face. "Shayera and I are having a baby."
"What?" Flash yelled. "You're the one who's pregnant? It's not Wondy?"
"Diana was kind of enough to run a few errands for me today while I stayed in my quarters with my head in the toilet," Shayera revealed with a chuckle. "Thanks to J'onn, I'm feeling better now."
"So, the pregnancy test really was for a friend," Clark muttered to himself in stunned disbelief.
"It really was," Diana confirmed. "I was getting supplies for Shayera."
"Thanks, Di," John gratefully told her. "I wish she would have come to me earlier, but I'm glad you were there for her today."
"Anything for a friend," she replied, grinning at Shayera.
"Well, that explains that," Flash uttered with a sigh of relief. "Congrats, guys! Can I be the god father?"
"Yes," John said at the same time Shayera said "no".

"If that's all, we'll meet again next week unless something important comes up," Clark finally wrapped up the meeting that seemed to last for an eternity.
"Great! I'm starved," Shayera announced. "Let's get some supper."
"I'm coming too!" Flash told them. "After all, I'm practically family."
"Superman, I need you to accompany me to the Monitor Womb," J'onn said. "I have some mission reports I need to review with you."
"I've got time now," he agreed, following the Martian Manhunter out.
"Ah, princess…a moment please," Batman called to her as she headed for the door.
"Sure," she replied with a smile. "What is it, Bruce?"
She watched as Bruce locked the door to the conference room and shut down the security feed before finally removing his cowl. His arms immediately slipped around her waist, pulling her in for a sensual kiss. "I've been wanting to do that all day."
"Me too," she softly said, resting her forehead against his. "So, it looks like I'm off the hook."
"For now," he told her, the corner of his lips quirking. "You know they'll find out sooner or later if we don't tell them."
"Let's keep it to ourselves just for a little while longer," she readily decided, her lips finding his in a heated kiss as her tongue sought out his.
"You know you shouldn't be going out on missions," he reminded her.
"I'm being extra careful," she assured him.
"I still can't believe it," he whispered, his hand finding her abdomen. "They still think you're not dating anyone."
"Well, they'll find out about that sooner than later too," she said with a giggle. "They're going to want to know who the father is."
"I'm more than thrilled to say it's most definitely me," he said with a cocky smirk.
"Definitely," she murmured against his lips before kissing him again.
