Mario and MLP Tales of Two Worlds
Chapter 12-A Fashion Nightmare
Princess Peach was one of the most beautiful maidens ever to live in the Mushroom World. Everyone loved her appearance and her kind heart. They wouldn't have wished for a more beautiful outside and inside princess to rule over your land.
"Ah, another beautiful day in the kingdom," said Peach.
She was happily looking at the flowers and smelling them. It was simply divine.
"It doesn't get any better than this," she said.
Some people were jealous of her, but not everyone was like that. They knew there was more to her than just how she looked.
"How did you get to be so beautiful, Peach?" Rarity asked.
"It's in a nature of a princess to look her best. Delicateness and kindness are two principals of being a princess," Peach stated.
One day, everyone was looking at a billboard about a big advertisement.
"What's going on over here?" Peach asked.
"Take a look," said Daisy.
There was an ad showing that the famous fashion designer, Harhall was coming to the Mushroom Kingdom. And he was looking for the perfect model to represent his style.
"Harhall the famous fashion star is coming," said Daisy.
"And he's looking for the best model for the job," said Rosalina.
"I've got the goods for this," said Wendy.
"No, you don't. He'll be swooning over me in no time," said Pom Pom.
"Fat chance. I've got this," said Jade.
"Don't you think this is just so silly?" Twilight wondered.
"I agree. It's not just about how you look on the outside that matters. It's what's on the inside," said Rosalina.
"Of course, knowing those two, it wouldn't matter," said Daisy.
"Let's go check it out," said Toadette.
At Harhall's studio, everyone was lining up. His secretary was phoning them in.
"Next," she said.
In went Wendy, and as soon as she went in, she suddenly came out crying in tears.
"I didn't make the cut!" she cried.
"Boy, I wonder what that was like," said Rainbow Dash nudging Daisy's shoulder.
"What do you think it will be like for the rest of us?" Daisy asked.
"Whatever it is, I don't think he'll take me very well," said Peach.
"We just gotta wait for his answer," said Daisy.
Harhall was not looking at the auditions very well.
"This is just great. 333 different participants and not one of them is what I am looking for. I need someone with a giddy and bubbly personality. One who doesn't care how she looks outside when she still has a good nature," said Harhall.
"You might not find someone like that, sir," said one of his aides.
Peach stepped in.
"Hello? I'm trying out for this, not for any reason in particular," said Peach.
Harhall took a good look at her.
"That look. That style. That hair. That smile. That expression that says, "Don't think I'm all about the looks! I have a heart!" That's it! That's my girl!" said Harhall.
"Your what?" Peach asked.
Harhall ran out of his office and said,
"You can all go! I found my star!"
All the other auditions left.
Peach was feeling a little awkward about this.
"I didn't really want the part to begin with. I just wanted to tag along with you and was hoping one of you would get it," said Peach.
"I wouldn't wanna be far away from my children for very long," said Rosalina.
"Well, I could sure use the publicity," said Daisy.
"So, when do you start?" Twilight asked.
"First thing tomorrow morning," said Peach.
Harhall gave her a call already.
"Hello?" Peach asked.
"You know what, Peach, sweetie? I changed my mind. How about we get started with our latest project tonight? Better to get a head start, you know," said Harhall.
"Tonight?! But I have a big thing tonight," Peach tried explaining.
"Nonsense. You can always reschedule."
"You do have a point. I guess I could-"
"So, we have a deal?"
"I didn't exactly say-"
"Great! See you tonight then!"
With that, Peach had different plans for the evening.
"Got something to do now?" Daisy asked.
"Uh-huh," said Peach.
She was gonna have a date with Mario and she had to reschedule it for another night.
"Mario, I know we were looking forward to our date tonight, but we're gonna have to do it another time. Okay?" Peach told him.
"Why? Is something wrong?" Mario asked.
"No, not in particular. I was just called over for something important and I must do it right away," Peach told him.
"What are you doing?" Mario asked.
"Is it something we ought to know?" Luigi asked.
"I'd tell you, but I don't really have time. See you tomorrow," said Peach.
She headed off.
"She's in a pretty big hurry," said Luigi.
"Whatever she's got planned for tonight, it must be urgent," said Mario.
At the studio, Peach was getting ready for her big fashion meeting.
"So, Peach, are you ready to step out there and become the biggest icon since the high-heel?" Harhall asked.
"Harhall, if I may ask, why did you pick me?" Peach asked.
"Why? Just look at you! You have not just the looks, but the tender sweetness! I can't say no to that! And I won't take no for an answer from it! You're my dream girl! In a platonic sense of course," said Harhall.
"If you say so," said Peach.
She headed out into the fashion shoot and was ready for her shooting. Her friends were there.
"Look at that. She's taking a step from being a princess of royalty to a princess of fashion," said Rarity.
"I don't think she's gonna have much to do if she's gonna just stand there like a statue," said Birdo.
"Peach! Show them your stuff!" said Daisy.
Peach did a few poses that showed her innocence.
"Yes, that's it. Show us what you got. I'm loving it!" said Harhall.
After a few shots, Peach was already feeling a bit tired.
"Boy, I didn't think this would be easy, but it's a lot trickier than I thought," said Peach.
"We're just getting started," said Harhall.
The boys were measuring her dress.
"Peach, baby, this little dress of yours, it's so soft, so vibrant, so clear, so sharp...what do you call it?" Harhall wondered.
Peach was really feeling a little uncomfortable about this.
"I just call it...me," said Peach.
"I got it. We out to call this...the Peachy Peach Cobbler Special! Rolls off the tongue there," said Harhall.
"Uh...are you sure you wouldn't want to reconsider?" Peach asked.
"Just think. Soon, everyone will see you as their hero. You're gonna be a big star! Bigger than even the Star Spirits themselves! This is your dream, kid! Live it!" said Harhall.
Peach knew there seemed to be no way out of this.
Soon enough, there was a commercial that depicted this amazing phenomenon that was the Peachy Peach Cobbler Special.
"Have you been dreaming of living the life of a princess? Wanted an outfit that showed you dignity and grace? Visioned a royal ensemble for your bod? Well, look no further! Now, you can be just like a real princess. With Harhall's Peachy Peach Cobbler Special. Modeled by Princess Peach herself," said the announcer for the commercial.
"It's a peach of a style," Peach stated.
"And you'll be a real peach yourself. With Harhall's Peachy Peach Cobbler Special. Order now," said the announcer.
Mario, Luigi, Sunset, and Applejack saw the commercial.
"I don't believe it!" Mario gasped.
"I know. That was the worst peach related pun I have ever heard," Applejack thought on a different subject.
"That was what Peach was talking about?" Mario asked.
"Well, I guess being a princess can get boring at times," said Sunset.
"We'd better go see what's going on with this," said Mario.
As they made their way to the castle, every lady on the street was wearing Peach's fashion design everywhere. It was basically them dressing up like Peach to feel like they were one with the crowd and it was just like they were copying her design.
"This is disturbing," said Applejack.
"You're telling me," said Luigi.
They couldn't take their eyes off this.
"Where did those guys get their outfits? A farm or something?" Lyra Heartstrings asked.
"Maybe they should try something else," said Bon-Bon.
"We're not dressing up like that. That would be going a bit too far," said Luigi.
At the castle, the place was being remodeled to look more like a mansion. There were solid gold objects everywhere.
"What's this?" Mario asked.
"Why the sudden redecorating?" Luigi asked.
Peach came out and was wearing a robe and holding a chalice.
"Hey, boys," she said.
"Peach? Is that you?" Mario asked.
"The one and only," said Peach.
The whole castle was being completely redecorated now that she was a big model.
"What's going on here?" Sunset asked.
"Well, at first, I was a little anxious to do that modeling shot, which was what I was doing that night I had to change our plans, but now it showed that everyone loved it. Now I'm getting a kick out of it," said Peach.
"That's great and all, but what about your duties?" Mario asked.
"I'm sure they can wait. Right now, I gotta go. I'm having lunch with Harhall about our next project," said Peach.
"I'm not sure I like the new Peach," said Applejack.
"I know I don't," said Sunset.
Her friends heard about the big career she had coming.
"Looks like Peach is hitting the big times," said Rarity.
"How did she even get to be like this in just a few days?" Fluttershy asked.
"I guess when you got it, you got it," said Trixie.
"Look! There she is!" said Pinkie.
"Peach! Over here!" said Daisy.
"Hi, girls!" said Peach.
"How are you doing?" Rosalina asked.
"I've been doing pretty good. Everyone's digging the Peachy Peach Cobbler Special," said Peach.
"I'll say. You're all over the place nowadays," said Birdo.
"Hey, you wanna hang with us?" Peach asked.
"I'd love to, but I have a book signing at the library today," said Peach.
"Oh. Okay then," said Toadette.
"I didn't even know she wrote a book so soon," said Daisy.
Peach was signing her book at the library, and everyone was there. Bowser came in in his car and was ready for another kidnapping.
"Come on, Peach! Time to go for a little ride!" said Bowser.
"Sorry, Bowser. I'm busy today. I still must open up the new mall later," said Peach.
"What? Too busy to be kidnapped. When did that happen?" Bowser wondered.
"You want a copy of my book so I can sign it?" Peach asked.
The Peach Blossom: Peach's Guide to True Fashion
"Uh...I guess so. Pom Pom would probably wanna give this a try," said Bowser.
He got a copy of the book and had it signed. Peach headed off to go open the mall as she said.
"See you later, big guy," said Peach.
"That was weird," said Bowser.
At the mall, everyone was there to see her cut the ribbon open. Her friends were in the crowd.
"Peach! Over here!" said Mario.
"Can you see us?" Luigi asked.
Peach could hear them.
"Guys? Where are you?" she asked.
She couldn't notice them. So, she went back to the opening ceremony and stated,
"It is with great pride that I open up this new mall right here, right now," said Peach.
She cut the ribbon and officially opened the mall. The crowd rushed right on in.
"Peach!" her friends called out.
But her bodyguards stopped them.
"Don't hurt them. They're friends of mine," said Peach.
"If you say so," said her bodyguard.
"Have you found anytime to hang out with us?" Toad asked.
"We've missed you quite a bit," said Yoshi.
"I think I might have time to-" Peach started until her phone went off and saw it was Harhall. "Sorry. I gotta take this."
"I knew it was too good to be true," said Toadette.
"Harhall? What? Now? But I couldn't. I was gonna...fine. I understand. Bye," said Peach.
"Now what?" Daisy asked.
"Harhall wants me to sponsor a new perfume," said Peach.
"You know, ever since you got that new career, you hadn't had time to hang with us," said Toadette.
"I know. And I'm sorry. I promise I'll find some way to spend more time with you guys," said Peach.
"We hope so," said Mario.
Everything just didn't seem the same now that Peach had been busy with her modeling career.
"You know, I miss the good old days when Peach was just Peach," said Luigi.
"Me too," said Daisy.
"We haven't been able to hang with her in a long time," said Toadette.
"We should never have brought her to that audition," said Rosalina.
"Maybe she needed a change from all of this," said Yoshi.
"Well, we should have that it'll change back soon," said Mario. "Otherwise, we may never see her again."
It was a sad day for them all.
Peach missed her friends and decided that she was going to tell Harhall that she's going to leave.
"Harhall, we need to talk," said Peach.
"What's on your mind, my Peachy girl?" Harhall asked.
"That's just it. I'm not feeling too peachy about this anymore," said Peach.
"Whatever do you mean?" Harhall questioned.
"It's like this. I had fun being a model at first, but now...it just isn't the same as when I was a real princess. I want to be my old self again. I don't want people thinking I'm just some pretty face that they can mimic. I can't do this anymore. I quit," Peach explained.
Harhall then pulled out her contract.
"You might wanna check again," said Harhall.
Peach looked at the fine print and saw what it said.
"The patron bound by this contract is not to leave his or her duties until the manager considers them null and void under certain conditions or consequential actions."
"In other words, you'll stay with me for quite a while now," said Harhall.
"This is a real fashion disaster," Peach thought.
Now it seemed Peach was gonna be stuck in the modeling career for years, if not for the rest of her life.
"So, my little peach, it's time to get you ready for your biggest show ever. After tonight, you're gonna be touring all over the Mushroom World, gracing people with what you've got," said Harhall.
"That's great," said Peach.
"All you gotta do is show them your nature and you're gonna be the biggest fashion star all around!" Harhall added.
Peach was sure this was gonna be the end of hanging out with her friends. She had a picture to remember them by.
"I'm gonna miss them all..." she said.
The corners were all gathering up. There were all sorts of Peach products going about. There were beverages, snacks, skin products, posters, clothing, cookbooks, and they even got her her own doll.
"Just look at all of this! It's like she sold out!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"No, that's not what Peach would do. It's like she was pushed too far with all of this," said Mario.
"We've got to talk some sense into Harhall," said Twilight.
Daisy and Rainbow Dash were checking out the magazine Peach was featured in and gasped.
"Uh-oh. Big gasping is not a good sign," said Yoshi.
"It says that if all goes well tonight, Peach will be touring the Mushroom World with her fashionable grace! We'll never see her again!" said Rainbow Dash.
"What are we gonna do?" Luigi asked.
Peach was getting ready for her biggest fashion show ever. This was going to be live and sure to be the breaking point of her career.
"Are you ready to do this, my little peach tart?" Harhall asked.
"Yeah. I guess," Peach sighed.
She was really gonna miss her friends after this.
"I'd better go and tell the judges about this," said Harhall.
Just then, her friends came by.
"Peach!" they all cheered.
"Oh, you all came to say your goodbyes," said Peach.
"Peach, we can't let you go," said Daisy.
"It just wouldn't be the Mushroom Kingdom without you," said Luigi.
"Please. Come back," Mario begged.
"I'd love to, but I can't quit under my contract. See?" Peach told them showing the contract.
"Can I see that?" Twilight asked. "Let's see hear… Wait look at this."
"What?" Peach asked.
She looked at a clause and saw what she could do.
"That's exactly what I need," said Peach.
"And here's what you can use," said Toad.
He handed her a little something.
Harhall arrived on the runway and announced to the crowd,
"Since the beginning of time, fashion has been a cornerstone of our society! And now, in this new era, I present to you a lady who has grace everyone with not just her outer beauty, but her inner as well! Ladies and gentlemen, I give to you Princess Peach and her Peachy Peach Cobbler Special!" said Harhall.
The curtains rose and out came Peach in her Cat power. She had used a Super Bell and transformed.
"Ta-da! Don't I look purr-fect?" she greeted them.
Everyone gasped.
"What is this?" Harhall asked.
The judges couldn't believe their eyes. Peach was walking like a cat and shocked everyone.
"What is the meaning of this, Harhall?" one of the judges asked.
"Is this your idea of a joke?" the second judge asked.
"This is not my work! I swear! There must be some mistake!" said Harhall.
"If that is real fur from a cat, you will be history, Harhall! Do you hear us? History!" the lead judge told them.
Everyone was disappointed with this.
"I thought it looked pretty good," said Daisy.
And so, Peach was ready to call it quits.
"I'm ruined! I don't know how this happened, but my dream is over!" Harhall complained.
He took out Peach's contract and tore it up.
"You'll never work in this industry again!" Harhall told her.
"Oh well. I knew that little clause stating that no animal-like wardrobes would be allowed would help," said Peach.
"Now what am I going to do? I'm ruined..." Harhall complained.
Just out on the runway, Pom Pom showed up and wowed everybody with her ninja skills and appearance.
"Who is that graceful maiden?" Harhall asked.
"Is that Pom Pom?" Toad asked.
Everyone started digging Pom Pom's look.
"My goodness! They love it!" said Harhall.
"Hey, everybody! Get me good side right here!" said Pom Pom.
They were all taking photos of her and Harhall saw this as the perfect opportunity.
"I'm saved!" he thought.
He rushed up to the little ninja girl and asked her,
"tell me. What is your name?"
"Pom Pom," Pom Pom answered.
"Everyone, give it up for my newest star, Pom Pom!" said Harhall.
The crowd was happy to see a new star.
"Now that is a real diva!" said the lead judge.
"Such beauty and elegance from a girl like her," said the first judge.
They all started cheering for Pom Pom.
"Looks like someone we hate has finally found their calling," said Daisy.
"Better her than me," said Peach.
And so, Peach's modeling career came to an end. The castle was change back to its original style and all of the talk about the Peachy Peach Cobbler Special was all in the past. They were all starting to sport Pom Pom's new hairdo a bit more.
"Boy, looks like things are looking bright," said Sunset.
"It's good to have you back, Peach," said Rosalina.
"Very good," said Twilight.
"So, Peach, are you ready for our date now?" Mario asked.
"I couldn't be happier," said Peach.
They were ready.
"Don't wait up for us," said Peach.
Everything was indeed back to normal.
"There's still something on my mind," said Rosalina.
"What's that?" Luigi asked.
"Whatever happened to Pom Pom?" Rosalina wondered.
Pom Pom was busy touring the Mushroom World as a new spokesperson for Harhall. However, she was being a bit of a brat about it.
"No no no! You call that a watermelon? It's barely watery! And where is my chocolate mint ice cream? I'm not getting any younger here!" she griped.
"Maybe this was a mistake," Harhall thought.
"Where's that makeup man?!" Pom Pom roared.
Her makeup assistant came in.
"Sorry to be late, Ms. Pom Pom," said the makeup assistant.
"You're fired!" Pom Pom ordered.
Her Chomplet then made a mess on the floor.
"Fang had an accident! Someone's gonna clean it up and it's not gonna be me! I'm a star, and stars don't taint their hands with messes like that! Somebody takes care of it!" Pom Pom ordered.
"Why didn't I take up video game designs or animation?" Harhall wondered.
It wouldn't be long before Pom Pom was back working for Bowser in no time. Most likely by her next appearance.
