Sasuke sat staring at the steaming bowl of ramen in front of him. He wasn't hungry, but Naruto had been nice enough to buy him a bowl and had even gone as far as to stay and eat with him. Naruto was happily scarfing up his own ramen while Sasuke swirled his own broth lazily.

Naruto paused and looked at his friend, "Are you okay? What's wrong?"

Sasuke glanced at Naruto, "Nothing."

The blonde haired boy got an annoyed look on his face, "Sasuke Uchiha, I know you better than that. You have something on your mind. What is it?"

Sasuke hesitated, "Well . . . I guess it's just that ever since you rescued me from Orochimaru . . . I haven't been getting stronger fast enough. At this rate the next time I meet my brother I won't be strong enough to kill him."

"Maybe you should just forget about revenge. I feel like it just puts you in a bad mood."

Sasuke glared at Naruto, his eyes now lit up with the soft menacing glow of his blood red Sharingan.

Naruto cringed, "Actually never mind!" He chuckled lightly, rubbing the back of his head, "You do you and don't pay attention to what I say Heh heh!"

Sasuke deactivated the Sharingan and took a small bite of his ramen.

Naruto sighed, "But seriously Sasuke. Don't do anything that's going to get you hurt. If you look for trouble you're gonna find it."

"I'll keep that in mind."

Sasuke continued to stare into his bowl, well aware that the young blonde shinobi was still looking at him.

"Naruto, this was really nice of you but I really just don't feel up to this tonight. I'm really sorry." Sasuke mumbled.

"Okay. Can I do anything to help?"

"No."

Sasuke got up and left the shop. He wasn't trying to be mean, he just really didn't feel up to being around anyone tonight. He got home and collapsed onto the couch.

Sasuke had fallen asleep minutes later. Suddenly he woke up to the sound of footsteps. He scanned the room for signs of anyone but saw nothing. He laid his head back down only to hear . . .

"Are you really going to ignore me, Sasuke?"

The voice was cold and void of emotion. Sasuke felt a sense of dread overwhelm him.

"Itachi?"
