Chapter 19: Travel
A ship? The reality of it still astounded her: that he came from a different realm, that he was taking her there to his home. And… what kind of a home? Who else lived there? What would her position be? He had appeared affronted when she insinuated he planned to make her his concubine, or his whore, but what other positions would be left to her?
Kagome's eyes widened. His mate? His Lady? It was simply impossible, considering his views on humans, she nearly shook her head.
"Every time you come to the Plains of Musashi, you have to journey on a ship?" She loathed having to converse with him, but some of her curiosities refused to be denied.
He shook his head. "When one's blood is recorded in the page of the Registry, it qualifies them for a quick passage."
"How quick?"
He frowned. "Much quicker than a voyage on ship, I can assure you."
"Will my blood be recorded in the Registry as well?"
He nodded. "When our union is made official, I will arrange for it to be done."
"In that case, I will not have to travel by ship any longer?"
Sesshōmaru nodded again.
"And then— I can travel back to the Plains of Musashi anytime I want?"
He did not answer.
His reticent attitude towards the possibility of her ever returning to the village sat like a heavy boulder in the pit of her stomach. She bucked herself up, ready for a fight that was sure to come.
