"Leave me a text when you reach home."
I shook my head as I saw a text from Edward when I landed.
Was there any point in this now?
I literally came back like a pathetic loser from my boyfriend's sister's wedding. Well, he wasn't exactly my boyfriend, but whatever!
The point was, I was feeling like such a loser!
Why had I ever met that fucking asshole Jasper Hale? Nothing had worked well ever since that loser had entered my life.
I thought things had begun to change in the last year, and my life had begun to get better again, but those were just my stupid hopes!
Edward didn't give a damn about me! He had always made it clear that he no longer cared for anybody, but I was stupid enough to keep hoping that it might change!
"Reached home."
I sent the text once I reached my apartment.
"Cool." I received an immediate response from him.
"See you on Tuesday?" He sent one more message.
What exactly was he trying to do?
Did he seriously want us to continue whatever the fuck we had?
What exactly was I trying to do with my life?
"I honestly don't trust anybody," I smiled.
"Then I guess you've found a match," Edward chuckled, "I don't think anybody should trust me. I don't find myself trustworthy, to be honest!" He said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Nothing," he said, "Anyway, let me go back to what I was saying earlier. I don't want anything serious. I don't think I'm ever going to commit to anyone ever again. If you're also only interested in something casual, I'm all in."
"That's what I'm looking for right now," I said.
I should have known myself.
I should have known that the casual relationship was never going to be enough for me!
But... Everything had changed now.
First, Edward was never going to commit to me anyway, and especially now, after Jasper turned out to be Alice's husband, I stood no chance now!
I needed to take a step back.
No, a step back was not enough.
I just needed to end everything.
"We can talk about everything when you're back." I sent the response.
