It was over, and it was hurting so much!

How did I let that happen to me?

I should have ended this when I had started getting attached.

Everything sucked, and the problem was, I couldn't even hate him! Because I didn't think he had done anything wrong. He had never given me any false hopes. It was me who had started developing these stupid feelings for him. He was pretty clear that he never wanted to commit.

I wondered what he'd be doing right now. Usually we'd be on the call talking to each other about our day or making some dinner plans together. I wondered if he was missing me, or he simply didn't care!

That's when I received a call from an unknown number.

"Alice here," she said.

"Alice? Oh okay... Hey Alice..." I said with confusion. Why was she calling me?

"It's Mrs. Alice Hale for you," she said.

I bit my lip to control my anger. Why was she calling me?

"I want to warn you, stay away from my brother," she said.

The only time we had talked was when she had called me after she had found out about Jasper and me.

"You fucking bitch..."

"Look, I'm really, really sorry... I'm really feeling so ashamed of myself." I was feeling like shit.

I couldn't even imagine what she'd be going through.

"I don't understand women like you," she said, "So shameless... So pathetic... Fucking whores!"

"I'm really, really, really sorry!" I said desperately, "But please believe me. I didn't really know he was married. He had lied to me."

"Aah, I'm sure," she laughed with disgust, "Listen to me. I know women like you. You took advantage of him."

Why would I take advantage of him?

Why was she fighting with me?

She should be fighting with her husband!

But I was too ashamed to argue with her, so I didn't say anything, and I let her say all horrible things to me for the next twenty minutes.

"My brother has gone through a lot in his life," she said, "I don't want you to take advantage of him and play with his feelings."

I hadn't told her anything that day, but I wasn't going to let her repeat that today.

"Whatever I do is none of your fucking business," I snapped, "Don't call me ever again."
