PART TWO Maybe I have some friends

If one day Ellis were asked what made him join the mafia the answer would be a straight bullet to the head as the rules are clear he would never hurt women and children for the oath he made at 17 but falling in love was something really complicated for him because being very ignorant about his feelings he never gave up when he got attached to someone.

a bar he frequented a lot not for the terrible acid drink that his mafia leaders idolized but a woman who made him rethink what it's like to feel the passion for such a beautiful and brave woman, the day he saw her being challenged by one of the bikers drunk and in a snap of her fingers she immobilized him in seconds his other colleagues got up with their blades in hand but they wouldn't be fools to do something stupid seeing Ellis with two pistols

- I think you better get your stuff and take those fat asses back where they came from.

they looked at each other and resolved in a wise way and withdrew as quickly as their motorcycles roared out of there.

woman picked up a tray and threw it at the steel cable with incredible aim

- not bad for a cowboy

Ellis laughed

- I'm sorry if my clothes aren't as chic as my colleagues...the mafia is still too tacky for me.

she passed the side of the counter and held out her hand

- welcome cowboy I'm Zoey nice to meet you

He put away his pistols and squeezed his hand back smiling

- Ellis, the pleasure is mine.

God she didn't take her eyes off him both hypnotized and started talking until they heard a very noisy motorcycle being turned off and saw a very tall man in silhouette approaching

Zoey glanced at the door and braced herself for the brute that was coming.

- It seems that we didn't count on one more of the idiots.

But the biker took off his helmet and Ellis knew him but they hadn't spoken for a while.

- I can't believe I'd find you here Ellis almost giving my colleagues a bullet.

Ellis came towards him for a hug from his old friend

- looks like years huh Francis at least he's not gray yet haha

Francis was Ellis' childhood friend in different ways they parted ways but now Ellis has returned from Chicago

- I would say the same to you I almost didn't recognize you you have to stop wearing makeup girl

Zoey saw that at least one of the idiots had the manners to shake her hand in apologies Francis hated the way his friends treated certain people.

Until another woman came out of one of the doors to the bar, it was Zoey's sister to Nina who coincidentally already knew Ellis from having studied together in college.

- Holy shit Ellis you still dressing badly I still recognize you.

She gave him a hug that reminded him of the old days where he and Nina were best friends but he had no idea that she had a sister and that mostly she was the woman he couldn't take his eyes off of.

Francis approached everyone

- by the way we all know each other here, right?

Zoey looked at her confused sister who had never seen Francis or maybe never met him.

- Excuse me but I don't know you but those biker pigs do.

Francis and Ellis chuckled to each other, repeating something she might remember him from.

- garden dwarf!

instantly she remembered the two idiots nicknamed her that since the first month of college

- you damn jerks! Francis Kennedy became a weird biker!

Francis laughing approached the sisters

- I'm unforgettable by the way where is the old man?

old man he was referring to was William or Bill for the most intimate Zoey and Nina's father a time ago Francis admired him for having fought in the Vietnam war and having finished off half a battalion with just one genius ambush and finally for Francis...Bill was badass.

Zoey still lived with him and they talked every day since Nina had been gone for 3 years but she visited Zoey at the bar to talk

- Well, he's great, he's still going to the barracks to analyze some strategies but he's retired.

Nina didn't hear from him because there was kind of a very delicate disagreement between them that made her walk away from him.

Francis and Ellis noticed the atmosphere between Nina and Zoey and decided to lighten it up.

- Well, the mafia doesn't need my services for a while, I'll still look for a place to stay, do you know any hotels?

Nina realized that since Francis and Ellis were friends they would probably want to spend some time together.

- I have an idea. old Seattle house where Mom kept before she passed away Bill still left that house intact Zoey?

Zoey then for the first time saw that it would be a good idea to get to know each other the house was huge and there was the thing that in college there were those rooms where friends get together to have fun and study, but that house is huge and she wanted to get to know them better

Zoey sighed

- Of course, I still have the keys, we'll just have to go there, get ready to stay there, the generators need to be cleaned there, it snowed a lot.

Francis and Ellis quickly volunteered to go there to clean and Nina would bring her luggage first and the next day they would pick up the rest.

Ending Zoey's shift, Ellis decided to help her while Francis would take Nina on his motorcycle, Ellis' truck was huge so he offered to take the luggage so he wouldn't overload Francis' motorcycle.

Zoey only took one suitcase for the next day and would take the rest later Francis already had his things on the bike but had to go to the hotel where he was to get the rest along with Ellis and Zoey, Nina joined them later and walked to the hotel that was very close to the bar.

With everything ready, they headed to Seattle. with that Ellis thought maybe I have some friends.
