"So you must be the famous Bruce Wayne that Mel has been telling me about." Pepper held out her hand, "I'm Pepper Potts. It's nice to finally meet you." Bruce smiled and shook her hand.
"Likewise. Mel's told me a lot about you." Bruce replied back.
Pepper had brought us to her office at this point after grabbing us from the lab area. Pepper had gotten the message that I was back and she closed out the board meeting early. It didn't take her long to track me down after that.
"I don't think Mel has told me about you though." Pepper said towards Dick.
"That's because I didn't know about him until after I got sent back. This is Dick Grayson. Bruce adopted him while I was here." I told Pepper.
Pepper looked surprised, "Oh. Well it's a pleasure meeting you Dick. Is that short Richard?" Pepper asked him.
Dick nodded his head, "I don't go by Richard anymore." He answered curtly.
Pepper gave a brief nod, "I see. So, what made you come back so soon Mel?" Pepper asked as she leaned against the front of her desk.
"Well, school starts back up in two weeks for Dick. We let him pick where he wanted to go on a family trip and he chose to come here." Pepper gave a surprised look.
"Really? Well then, I'm glad he did. It's nice to see you again and I know Morgan will absolutely be thrilled to see you." Speaking of the squirt. I looked around Pepper's office.
"She's normally with you during the summer. I don't see her here though." I asked.
"Her school was chosen by the YMCA this year to host some of their summer activity clubs this year. I signed her up and the clubs go all summer long to help parents that need to work. Happy's been picking her up since I don't get out until a couple hours later." I grew a smirk on my face and Pepper gave me a look.
"I know that look, Mel. Let me guess. You want to go pick up Morgan today?" She guessed.
"Well, I still have her car seat in the back of my car. I did drive here and I'd be lying if I said I haven't been looking forward to seeing her again." I told Pepper.
Pepper rolled her eyes but had a smile on her face, "Why not. I'll let Happy know he doesn't have to stop." I grinned.
"Great, when does the club let out?" I asked her.
Pepper looked down at her watch, "In about thirty minutes. Could you also make lunch for her? I'll be home around four and I can pick up dinner. My treat." I nodded.
"Yeah, I can cover lunch. When you do get home there's something I want to tell you and Morgan at the same time." I said with a smile.
Pepper gave me a puzzled look, "Okay. Is this bad or good?" I gave a chuckle.
"It's good. I promise." I answered back. Bruce and I shared a glance. He had the same smile on his face. Pepper scrunched up her eyebrows as she looked from Bruce to me.
"Alright. Then I guess I'll see you at home." I nodded.
"See you then."
I walked under the gate of the Steve Rogers Memorial Private School. Several parents were already waiting outside for the club to release the kids. Bruce followed next to me while Dick stayed in the running car parked on the side of the street.
"So this school is named after Captain America?" Bruce questioned. I nodded my head.
"Yeah, this was a new school that got built after The Blip. Steve officially retired and passed the shield down. They wanted to honor him one last time. MIT did the same thing. They made a brand new engineering hall with the name dedicated to Tony's memory." I answered.
My attention turned to the school as the doors opened. I could see several kids running out and heading to their parents. My eyes scanned the crowd of kids for Morgan.
"What does she look like?" Bruce asked as he looked around at the kids.
"She is a carbon copy of her dad." I stated as I kept my eyes on the kids.
My eyes then landed on a familiar six year old with semi-long brown hair and brown eyes. She had that scrunched up face she made when she was thinking or concentrating. She was looking around for Happy was my guess. My gaze softens seeing that look. I had missed this little girl more than I realized.
"Hey squirt!" I called out. Morgan's eyes widened as her head snapped over in my direction. A large open smile soon formed on her face exposing her adult front teeth started coming in.
"Aunt Mel!" She yelled and bolted for me. I knelt down and had my arms open as she jumped in them.
I immediately hugged her tightly and stood back up with her still in my arms. Her legs wrapped around my torso and her arms wrapped around my neck.
"I missed you." I heard Morgan's muffled voice against my shirt. I hugged her back tightly and rubbed my hand on her back. I kissed the side of her head.
"I missed you too, squirt." I replied back and rested my hand against the back of her head. My eyes glanced over at Bruce. He had a warm smile on his face as he watched Morgan and I interact. He knew how much Morgan meant to me and the tough times she got me through.
"Hey squirt." Morgan leaned back in my arms, "Do you remember back at the ice cream place when I told you that special person that lived very far away?" I asked her.
Morgan nodded her head, "He's just like how daddy was to mommy." A brief sad look graced my features before quickly hiding it away.
I nodded, "That's right. Well, I brought him with me so you can meet him." I pointed over to Bruce. Morgan followed my finger and stared at Bruce with wide brown eyes.
"Morgan, this is your Uncle Bruce." I introduced him. Bruce's eyes flickered to me at the title before focusing back on Morgan.
Bruce gave a gentle smile, "Hi Morgan. Mel's told me a lot about you. I'm glad to finally meet you." Bruce greeted.
Morgan shyly leaned against me and raised her hand in a wave, "Hi." She spoke up softly.
"She's shy when meeting new people. She'll warm up to you the more she gets to know you." I informed Bruce.
Bruce nodded, "I see. I understand that, Morgan. It can be scary meeting new people." Morgan gave a small smile and nodded her head against my shoulder.
"There's somebody else I want you to meet. I have a son now and his name is Dick. He's twelve so he's older than you." I told her.
"Can we play together?" Morgan asked.
Bruce and I shared a glance, "You can ask him." I told her. I set her down on the ground and held my hand out to her. Morgan always took to kids faster than adults. She always showed to be more shy around adults than kids.
"Okay." She answered and took hold of my hand. I walked her over to the car and opened the back passenger door.
Dick glanced up from his phone and I noticed his attention immediately catching onto Morgan. I helped Morgan into her car seat and strapped her in.
"All set?" I asked her my usual question when strapping her in.
Morgan gave me a toothy grin and nodded, "All set." She clarified. Without even thinking I ruffled her hair and gave her a kiss on the head. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Dick immediately frown at my action. I closed the back door as Bruce opened the side passenger door. I walked around to the driver side and got into the vehicle.
I looked up at the rearview mirror and slightly frowned seeing the frown on Dick's face as he stared at his phone. What's gotten into him? I looked over at Bruce and he shrugged his shoulders.
"Aunt Mel, I'm hungry." Morgan spoke up.
"I'll make lunch when we get home, squirt." I told her. I glanced at her through the rearview mirror before turning on the car's blinker. I missed another deep frown coming from Dick as I paid attention to the road.
"Okay, squirt. Light lunch ideas only. Your mom's picking up dinner on the way home. Got it?" I told her as I leaned against the kitchen bar.
She sat across from me with her knees on the barstool. Bruce sat at the barstool next to her. He had his cheek leaned on his fist with an amused smile on his face. Dick sat on the leather sofa with his earbuds in and his eyes glued to his phone. He had been acting like this since we got here. Morgan tried to get him to play with her but he completely ignored her. Both Bruce and I believed that's how he was going to react anyway. I told Morgan that he's becoming a teenager and he doesn't really "play" anymore. She was confused but left it at that.
Morgan scrunched up her face as she thought, "Can I have a grilled cheese sandwich?" She asked.
I gave a smile, "One grilled cheese sandwich coming up then. Dick!" Dick took out one earbud and peered over the couch.
"I'm making grilled cheese sandwiches. You want one?" I asked him.
"Yeah, sure Mel." He answered with a monotone voice before putting his earbud back in.
Morgan frowned and looked back at me, "Aunt Mel?" She called to me as I started to pull out what I needed.
"Hm?" I answered her as I pulled out the flat pan from under the stove.
"You said Dick's your son right?" She asked.
"He is." I told her as I glanced at her.
Morgan tilted her head, "Then why doesn't he call you mom? I don't call mommy by her name." Morgan asked.
I paused and Bruce and I shared a look before I glanced back at Morgan.
"Well huh…Dick's situation is more complicated. Do you remember the conversation your mom had with you when you first met me? How if something happened to your mom to where she couldn't take care of you anymore then I would take care of you?" I asked her.
Morgan nodded her head, "Well it's sort of like that. Dick's real mom and dad are gone like how your dad is gone. Bruce and I did what's called adoption. We brought Dick into our home and took him in as our son. Dick already had a mom and he's not comfortable calling me mom. He calls Bruce dad but that's because he doesn't remember his real dad." Morgan gave a sad look.
"He doesn't remember his dad?" I shook my head slowly.
"I'm afraid not, no." Morgan downcast her look on the counter.
"That's so sad. Aunt Mel, do you think I'll forget about daddy?" She asked as tears began to well up in her eyes.
"Oh Morgan, no. No. Dick was much, much younger than you when he lost his dad." I grabbed the clean kitchen rag and walked over to Morgan.
"You still remember all the fun times you have with your dad, right?" Morgan sniffed and nodded. I wiped away the few tears that fell down her cheeks.
"You'll always have those memories of your dad, squirt. That's never going to go away as long as you cherish those memories with him. Besides, your mom would never let that happen and I won't either. Okay?" Morgan gave another sniffle before nodding her head. I gave one more wipe down around her cheeks and under her nose to get the snot. I took the rag and set it off to the side to throw it in the laundry room later.
"Hey Morgan," Morgan looked over at Bruce, "While we wait for your Aunt Mel to finish lunch, do you want to play a board game?" I smiled at Bruce before turning back to my task at hand.
"Okay, can we play Shoots and Ladders?" I heard her ask.
"Whatever you want to play." I heard Bruce tell her.
"Okay, stay here. I'll be right back." I heard the sound of Morgan climbing down the barstool before hearing her running footsteps up the stairs.
I heard Bruce chuckle which made me turn around to look at him. He had his head turn looking up where Morgan just disappeared.
"She's a spitfire." He commented and looked back at me.
I grimaced, "Like I said. Carbon copy of her dad. You know Shoots and Ladders was her favorite board game to play with Tony." Bruce raised his brows at that.
"I guess talking about her dad made her think of it then." He mused as he looked back upstairs.
Bruce suddenly grew a smile as he looked back over at me, "How much are you hoping we're having a girl?" He asked in a quieter tone of voice.
I gave a wide smile, "It crossed my mind. I would love to have a little girl but I'll be fine either way. Though I will admit I can see you being a father to a little girl." My mind instantly tracked back to the alternate universe Wanda had seen. Bruce was a father to a little girl there already. Question is, would this follow the same path or would it be different?
Bruce smiled, "I can see it too but I was going to say I can see you with a little boy." He commented.
I cut a piece of butter and put it on the hot flat pan. I spread the butter on the pan before grabbing a piece of bread. I placed the bread on the hot pan and a slice of cheese and another piece of bread. I picked up the spatula and pointed at Bruce.
"Speaking of which. When did you want to start seriously looking into baby names? It's too early to tell the gender so we'd had to think of names for either gender or do you just want to wait until we know the gender?" I asked him.
Bruce furrowed his brows in thought as he folded his arms on the counter top, "I hadn't thought about that to be honest. We could start brainstorming names if you want." He stated.
I opened my mouth to speak when I heard rushing footsteps down the stairs. "No running down the stairs, squirt!" I scolded the six year old. That was a habit she had and Pepper hated it.
Bruce turned in his barstool just as Morgan came into view. She wasn't slowing down and in almost slow motion I could see her miss a step. I felt my heart leap up into my throat as I was nowhere near her. The barstool under Bruce was suddenly knocked over as he instinctively lunged for her. His years of being Batman made it easy for him to react. He swiftly and safely caught Morgan in his arms and pulled her up against him. The Shoots and Ladders game went sliding across the hardwood floor.
I felt relief immediately wash over me, "Morgan Howard Stark, how many times have your mother and I told you to stop running down the stairs?" I scolded the six year old.
Morgan lowered her head and leaned into Bruce's arms, "Not to do it." She answered sheepishly.
"And what did you do?" I followed up.
"I ran down the stairs." She replied.
"You're lucky that he caught you in time. What do you say?" I told Morgan and pointed to Bruce.
Morgan looked up to Bruce, "Thank you for catching me, Uncle Bruce." Morgan thanked him.
"You're welcome, but your Aunt Mel is right. You need to be careful. It's not safe to run down stairs." Bruce set her feet back on the ground and stayed kneeled down at her level.
Morgan nodded her head, "Go pick up the board game and we can start playing, alright?" Morgan turned around and walked over to the board game.
Bruce stood up and I gave him a thankful look, "Thank you for catching her that quickly." Bruce gave a comforting smile as he picked up the barstool that fell when he got up so suddenly.
"If I can keep up with bad guys, I can easily keep up with a six year old." Bruce assured me.
Morgan walked over to the dining table and placed the board game onto it. She climbed onto the padded chair and opened up the board game. She took out the board and the other pieces to the game.
"Okay Uncle Bruce, I need to tell you how to play." Morgan stated matter of fact.
Bruce looked at me with an amused expression on his face. I smirked and gestured for him to go over to her. Bruce chuckled and walked over to the dining table.
"Okay, you're the boss. Tell me how to play." He said as he took a seat across from her.
I couldn't help but steal occasional glances of the two interacting as I made lunch. Bruce was patient with Morgan and listened to her explain a game that he already knew how to play. It's been a while since Morgan has really had a male figure in her life. Sure there was Happy but he wasn't around as often as I was in her life when I lived here. Morgan mainly just had women figures in her life.
Pepper told me that Morgan had a major soft spot for Tony and was always a daddy's girl. It made me wonder if Morgan was taking to Bruce much faster than I anticipated because it has been so long since Tony has passed.
That's when I noticed Dick stopped what he was doing on his phone and was looking over at Bruce and Morgan. I frowned seeing the intense look he was giving Morgan. Dick suddenly glanced over at me and he instantly turned back to his phone seeing that I was looking at him. I frowned at the reaction. What's gotten into him? He acted like this in the car and now here.
I sat out on the porch as I watched Morgan play in her outside play house. Dick was still on his phone inside the house. Bruce had gone in to try and talk to him. We both noticed he's been acting strangely since he met Morgan. I heard the screen door open and turned my head to see Bruce walk out.
He gave a sigh, "Well I can't get anything out of him. He says he's fine." Bruce stated. He took a seat next to me on the porch swing.
"I don't buy it." I muttered as I leaned against Bruce. Bruce lifted up his left arm and placed it around me as I leaned on him.
I felt Bruce shrug, "Teenage boys are different, Mel. If he says he's fine then he's fine." I rolled my eyes at his thinking.
"That's a man's way of thinking. He's not there yet, Bruce." Bruce lifted up one hand in a defensive manner.
"I'm just saying." The sound of a car engine pulling up caught time and Bruce's attention. I frowned seeing Happy's car pulling up. What was he doing here?
Happy turned off his car and got out with two Burger King bags. I raised a brow.
"What are you doing here?" I called out to him. Happy closed the driver side door.
"I got off early and I offered to pick up food instead. I figured since you were in town I'd like to have dinner with everyone." Happy stated.
"Hi Happy!" Morgan called out to him.
Happy grinned and held up the Burger King bags, "Hey kiddo. I got a cheeseburger with your name on it." Morgan grinned and made a beeline for the porch.
"I didn't know what to get Bruce and Dick so I got what you normally get Mel." Happy said as he walked along the porch.
"That should be fine." Bruce looked at me for an answer.
"It's a cheeseburger with medium fries and vanilla coke." Bruce nodded his head.
"Alfred never has to know." Bruce commented to which I chuckled at.
"Whose Alfred?" Happy asked as he set the bags down on the outside patio table.
I pointed my thumb to Bruce, "His butler." Happy paused and looked over at us.
He furrowed his brow, "That's right. You mentioned he's a billionaire." He recalled.
I nodded my head, "Alfred home cooks everything. He doesn't exactly approve when we have take out or fast food. Alfred would make a cheeseburger before ever thinking of going out and getting fast food." I informed him.
"Well then you've been missing out my friend. Burger King's whopper cheeseburger happens to be your wifes comfort food." Happy said and tossed a wrapped cheeseburger to Bruce.
I looked at Bruce and pointed to Happy, "He's not wrong." Bruce looked down at the cheeseburger before back at me.
"Noted. I'll keep that in mind when the hormones start coming out." I rolled my eyes and slightly nudged Bruce with my elbow. Happy gave a laugh and nodded his head.
"Smart man." Happy said and tossed me my cheeseburger. He then handed Morgan her kids meal.
"Dick's inside. I'll take his meal to him." I stated. I set my cheeseburger down before getting up. Happy handed me Dick's meal before I walked back inside.
Dick had switched to watching tv since his phone was close to dying. He had some random cartoon on.
"Hey, dinner's here." Dick looked up as I set his burger, fries, and drink down in front of him.
"Thanks." Dick said curtly. I stood up and raised a brow as he opened up the wrapper.
"Are you okay?" I asked him with concern.
Dick gave a long sigh, "Just like how I told dad. I'm fine, Mel. Nothings wrong." I frowned at not buying it but I didn't push it any further.
"Okay." I turned around and headed back outside, "Something's up with him." I stated as I closed the screen door behind me.
Bruce looked up and gave me an exasperated look, "If he doesn't want to talk about it, he won't." He reminded me.
Happy gave me a confused look, "What's going on?" He questioned me.
I gave a sigh as I took my seat back on the porch swing next to Bruce, "Dick's been acting strange since we picked up Morgan. He says he's fine but something's up."
"How old is he?" Happy asked as he opened up his wrapper.
"Twelve." Happy gestured to me with his hand.
"There's your answer. He's becoming a teenager. It's not just teenage girls that go through a rollercoaster of hormones." Happy stated and took a bite of his burger.
"What are hormones?" Morgan suddenly asked. Us three adults eyed each other before looking at Morgan.
"Something you don't have to worry about for a long time, squirt." I answered her.
"Okay." Morgan finished her kids' meal. I casually ate my burger as I watched Morgan run back to her tent.
Bruce and Happy were making conversation but I tuned them out while keeping an eye on Morgan. I paused mid bite and tilted my head seeing Morgan come out of the tent. I raised a brow seeing her wearing Pepper's Rescue helmet.
"Morgan, did you go through the garage again?" I called out to her. Happy and Bruce stopped their conversation and turned their heads.
Happy gave a chuckle, "She's always grabbing that thing." I wrapped up my burger. I stood up and walked down the steps of the porch.
I held my hand out, "You know that's not a toy. That's part of your mom's armor." Morgan let out a groan before taking off the helmet.
She handed me the blue and golden helmet. I grabbed the piece and turned the front to face me. I hadn't seen this helmet in months. I felt a presence behind me. I looked over my shoulder to see Bruce. He gave a look interest at the helmet.
"Is that part of an Iron Man suit?" He asked.
I nodded, "This is the helmet to Pepper's Rescue armor. Tony made it for her. Squirt here likes to take it out of the garage and play with it. Even though it's not a toy." Morgan gave me her best feigned innocent smile.
I started to walk around the cabin in the direction of the back garage. I pointed to Morgan with the helmet still in my hand, "Stay here." I told her.
Morgan crossed her arms, "Aw." She pouted. Bruce chuckled and followed me in the direction of the garage.
I approached the garage and turned on the handle. I opened it and flicked up the light switch as I walked in. I paused and looked around the separated garage. Nothing in it had changed. Pepper had a hard time coming in here. I was the one that had to go through all of Tony's stuff in here after he passed.
Bruce closed the door behind him. He stuffed his hands in his pockets as he looked around the garage. I walked ahead of him and stopped in front of what appeared to be a wall. I flipped open a false panel and typed in a code. The false wall opened up to reveal the rest of the Rescue armor. I'd have to change the code again if Morgan figured it out again. I hung up the helmet back in its rightful place.
"Morgan knows how to unlock that?" Bruce questioned as he stopped in front of the armor.
I nodded, "She's clever. I've had to change the combination a couple of times in the past. I'll have to tell Pepper she figured it out again. At some point this will have to be moved to the Avengers Compound. That's where I had to move Tony's last Iron Man suit to." I pressed the button on the combination pad and the false panel covered over the Rescue armor again.
"You'll have to show me that suit. Is this where Tony worked out of?" Bruce asked as he looked around.
I nodded, "For the five years he stayed here, yes. I cleaned a lot out when I sorted through everything after he passed. I didn't have the heart to touch some of the things he was working on before he died." I stated as I looked at some of the unfinished projects still sitting on work benches.
Bruce gestured to items on the workbench, "You mind if I look at some of them?" I gestured for him to go ahead as I took a seat on a barstool.
Bruce carefully filtered through the small inventions of the work bench. Some of the things on the workbench were things I had worked on when I first got sent back here. Bruce suddenly grew an amused look on his face as he spotted something.
"Did you work out of here too at some point?" He turned his head to me with a smile.
I raised a brow, "Yeah, how'd you know that?" Bruce chuckled as he reached for something I couldn't see from him blocking my view.
He grabbed whatever it was with his hand and lifted it up. He held up the casing of a halfway completed Arc Reactor. Not just any Arc Reactor though. This casing was in the shape of a bat.
My mouth formed into an 'O' shape, "Oh yeah. I forgot about that." I mused as Bruce looked at the casing.
"What exactly is it?" He asked as he held it with both hands.
"That is the skeleton casing of an Arc Reactor. I started building that in the first couple of months I got sent back here. Working in Tony's garage made me feel closer to him and making something that was intended for Batman made it feel like you were here." I commented with sadness in my voice.
Bruce gave a sympathetic look, "What made you stop working on it?" He asked.
I gulped, "It's when I accidentally found the message Tony recorded for me about Jason Nolan." I replied back quietly.
Bruce set down the skeleton casing back on the workbench. Bruce ran his hands down my arms and pulled me to him simultaneously.
"I wish I could have been with you during that time." He said gently. I wrapped my arms around Bruce and I felt him return the hug.
"I know. At least we're together now." I muttered. I looked up and my blue eyes met Bruce's hazel ones.
Bruce gave a gentle smile, "I love you." He whispered. I returned the smile.
"I love you too." I whispered back. He leaned down and I met him in the middle. I tightened my hold on him as I kissed him full of love and passion.
We both finally broke the kiss and just held onto one another. My sensitive ears picked up on the sound of another car engine outside. I moved my head to the door.
"I think Pepper's home." I stated and looked back at Bruce.
Bruce gave a small smile, "We still need to tell her the news." I nodded my head.
"Then what are we waiting for?" I asked and gently pulled at Bruce's hand. Bruce chuckled and allowed me to lead him out of the garage.
"You're serious?" Pepper said with her eyes wide and staring at me.
I had a wide eyed grin on my face, "Yes, I'm serious, Pep. I'm pregnant." I announced it to her.
I stood out on the porch alongside Bruce and Pepper. Happy had gone home by now. Dick was still inside the house and Morgan stood in between us adults. The sun was beginning to go down as we talked.
"That is amazing, Mel! Congratulations." Pepper hugged me and I hugged her back.
"Thank you. We're excited." I told her.
"So Aunt Mel, you're going to be a mommy?" I pulled back from Pepper and looked at Morgan.
I gave a smile and kneeled down to her level, "I am. I'm hoping you can be friends with the baby once they're here. You think you can do that?" Morgan nodded her head.
"Is the baby going to be a girl or a boy?" Morgan asked me suddenly.
Pepper chuckled, "They don't know yet, Morgan." Pepper answered for me.
"Either way, I know you're going to get along with them just fine." I ruffled Morgan's hair as I stood back up.
"Word of advice, Mel. Start looking at names now. Don't follow what Tony and I did. We waited until the last minute to decide on the final name." Pepper advised me.
I gave a small smirk, "Considering who Morgan's named after, I think it turned out alright." Pepper rolled her eyes but had a smile on her face.
"That's right, you mentioned Tony named Morgan after you." Bruce stated as he looked at me. He had a look on his face that I couldn't read currently. He seemed to be thinking of something though.
"Hey dad." Bruce and I turned to hear Dick's voice. He stood at the door frame with the screen door slightly propped open.
"I'm getting tired. Can we head back now?" He asked us.
Bruce looked at his watch, "We probably should. It's getting pretty late." Bruce agreed and looked at me.
I gave a small sigh, "Yeah, we should." I agreed. Morgan looked up at me in slight alarm.
"You're leaving?" She asked.
"Just back to the Avengers Compound, squirt. We're staying a full two weeks." I assured her. Morgan seemed relieved and turned to Pepper.
"Mommy, could I please stay the night with Aunt Mel before she leaves?" That's right, we had that planned to begin with before I met America.
Pepper glanced at me and I nodded my head to signal it was okay. Pepper looked back at Morgan.
"That's fine with me. It's up to Aunt Mel when." That suddenly got the six year old's attention back onto me. Morgan gave me a puppy dog look as she clasped her hands in front of her in a begging notion.
"Can I stay with you tonight, please?" She begged.
I let out a groan seeing the look, "Why do you have to make that face? Okay, okay. You can come back with us." Morgan cheered by raising her hands in the air.
"Go upstairs and start packing. I'll be right there to make sure you have everything." Pepper told her daughter.
"Okay!" Morgan practically barged past Dick and headed for the stairs.
Dick gave a huff, "I'll be in the car." He muttered under his breath. I raised a brow as he walked by us. Is this what a moody teenager is like?
"Okay, I'm starting to see what you're talking about." Bruce commented as he watched Dick walk off.
"What's going on?" Pepper asked, confused.
"Dick's been acting weird since we picked up Morgan. He says he's fine but something is bothering him." I stated.
"Well he was stuck here doing nothing for a few hours. Since Morgan's staying the night, you guys should take them out somewhere fun tomorrow. Mel, you were meaning to take Morgan out to the Captain America museum right?" I pointed a finger at Pepper.
"You're right, I was going to do that. We could take both of them there tomorrow. That could be fun for both of them." I said and looked over at Bruce.
He raised a brow, "A Captain America museum?" He asked with a surprise tone to his voice.
"I got to see it during its ribbon cutting ceremony. It's a pretty cool museum. There's an Avengers section that Dick would like." I assured him.
Bruce nodded, "We can do that then." He agreed.
"I'll go make sure Morgan is packing what she needs. Mel," I turned to Pepper, "Watch it with the sugar." I gave a smirk and chuckled.
"I would never." I answered playfully. Pepper rolled her eyes and walked into the cabin.
Bruce chuckled and kissed the side of my head, "Just don't do that with our actual kid once they're here." He stated.
"Oh that'll be different since I'll be the mom. Morgan's my goddaughter. I'm allowed to spoil her." I commented and winked at him. Bruce gave an amused smile and gave one final kiss on my head. It's safe to say that both of us are highly excited for when our baby is finally here.
