It's that time again, better grab your balloons and invite your friends. It's now time for another story by TheMoonIsCheese. This time, it's a crossover between Total Drama and Apex Legends. Now I've already done this before (looking at you Aztec 13), but I deleted it because I needed time to improve. But now with two, relatively decent stories under my belt, I decided to write it again. And now this will be a full fledged long story instead. As you have seen in the description, our Total Drama cast have been flung into the future. Hopefully I can forget the character development I made in Running Time or else I make them out of character for this story. But now is the time for Second Chances…

Aztec 13: I know you haven't reviewed this story yet, but hear me out. I know you'd get confused if I didn't say anything about rewriting this. We good? Good.

The scene opens up to a dark facility. The ambiance makes it seem abandoned, but something about it says otherwise. Even if it looks abandoned for years, the facility is not that dirty. We get glimpses of the dark hallways before ending in a computer room. There was a small hole on one of its walls, and a big rat forced itself through it.

As the rat found itself in the new environment, it began exploring the dark room, possibly for food. As it climbed up a panel in curiosity, it stepped onto a red button, booting up the facility from it's dormant state, activating a bunch of lights and rebooting the hardware.

With the newfound surrounding and feel of the facility, the rat quickly dashed across the dashboard. As it stops next to a vent slot, it begins to gnaw at it for it to open, wanting to know what's inside.

Once it has made a hole through it, it goes through and sees a complex set of wires and circuit boards. As if it's instinct, it immediately begins gnawing at one of the wires, going through the insulation in no time. The wire makes a spark, harming the rat and causing it to leave the computer.

The scene appears in front of a monitor. It lights up for a bit, but goes into static caused by the rat's interference.

We then see through a window of the computer room, overlooking an even bigger room, sporting countless chambers that look like cryogenic pods. Almost all of them are closed, with one being wide open. But due to the dust that has settled inside it, it looks like it's been like that for years. But as the facility hums back to life, and the lights bright up the facility, one of the chambers opens…

-Chapter 1: The Wake Up Call-

The open chamber let's out a bit of steam, in a mix of dust and water droplets, and it drops a human figure onto the cold metal floor.

Fortunately, the figure is alive, but is shivering at an alarmingly high rate from cryostasis. Almost like when a mountain climber is lost for days on end. The figure begins to stand up, and we get to see their features. A female figure wearing a dark top and a black and teal skirt. Her skin is pale, either from the freezing temperatures or it's her natural color. We put the pieces together when we see that the figure has black and teal hair and has teal lipstick. This is everyone's favorite goth girl, Gwen.

"Brrrrrr… ugh… where am I?" Gwen asks as she curls herself up for warmth.

She sees the facility around her. Due to her cold body and having just woken up, she can't think properly. But once she calmed down and tried to put the pieces together, she made a realization. Kidnapped and put in an unknown location plus remembering that her contract hasn't expired from the last time she's awake? It seemed obvious to her that it was Chris McLean who put her there.

"Heh, I was pretty frightened for a second…" Gwen says through chilled breaths. "You can't hide from me, Chris McLean! Cut the charade and tell me what new game I have been dragged into!" She yells out, hoping for a response.

As her voice echoed across the facility, she began to be slightly annoyed.

"Hello?! Chris?!" Gwen yelled again, hoping for a response, but none. "Chris? Chef?" She grows increasingly annoyed. "Anyone? Not even your underpaid interns?"

There was still no response. But she noticed that the facility was completely silent. No footsteps, no commotion, no nothing. She gets a lingering feeling of fear, but tries to shake it off.

"Ugh… do I have to make my way to you before you can reveal yourself?" Gwen asks, trying to shake off the feeling of fear. "Ugh, fine. But expect this fist to land on your face!"

Gwen looks around for an exit and spots an opening that leads upwards. She walks to it and begins climbing up. No matter how much she tries, she just can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. That or the chilling cold of the facility. As she makes a right turn to climb another flight of stairs, she notices that the only sound she hears other than dead silence is the noise of her boots stepping on the metal stairway.

"Ugh… I know Chris is the one behind this. But why do I have the feeling that he's not?" Gwen questions the conflict of thoughts inside her.

Gwen finally reaches the top of the stairs to see the computer room we saw earlier. Most of the monitors are dormant, but one is active but is receiving static.

"Great, it's like Five Nights at Freddy's?" Gwen rolled her eyes at the sight of this. "What is this, McLean? A horror themed season?" She yells out again, but the hope of a response is long gone.

She walks up to the static monitor and observes it. Once she realizes it's not out of the ordinary, she decides to touch it and feels warmth on the tip of her fingers.

"Ah, warmth. I never thought I'd be hoping for heat instead of the cold, but here I am now." Gwen mutters as she tries to absorb the heat.

After a much needed heating, she notices a remote lying next to the monitor. Her curiosity causes her to pick it up and observe it.

"Hmm… weird. It's not like the ones I've seen." Gwen states.

Out of curiosity, she presses one of the buttons twice in hopes that it would do something. After a bit of waiting, she decides that it did nothing.

"Wow, what a cheapskate, McLean." Gwen rolled her eyes. "You can't even get a working remote? This doesn't even seem like a prop."

At that moment, some loud electrical noises were heard from the room.

"What was that?!" Gwen asks, being taken off guard.

She looks around for the source of the noise and finds that it's occurring from the viewing window. When she approaches it, she sees the chamber room from behind the glass.

"The chambers?" Gwen was confused by this.

Two of the cryo chambers opened up, spitting out two human figures.

"Oh crap!" Gwen perked up in seeing this. "I wonder who those are?"

Gwen immediately dashed out the room and down the stairs. Once she reaches the bottom, she can see the two figures clearly. Though she doesn't know them personally, she knows who they are. Our resident step brothers for life, Chet and Lorenzo.

"Wait, the Stepbrothers?" Gwen raised an eyebrow in seeing this. "Something's not right…"

The Stepbrothers get up slowly, due to being chilled to the bone.

"Um… where are we?" Lorenzo was the first to speak up. "And why am I so cold…?"

"Brrrr… I think we got kidnapped." Chet tries to put the pieces together. "Remember our Ultimate Stepbro Kidnapped Protocol?" He asks, knowing they share a single brain cell.

"Yeah! Let's take down these kidnappers and come out victorious!" Lorenzo yelled out in excitement.

"Even if we haven't tried it, I know it's gonna work!" Chet was very enthusiastic about the plan.

Gwen walks up to them in concern and worry.

"Hey, are you guys okay?" Gwen asks.

"Enemy spotted!" Chet yelled out.

"Charge!" Lorenzo yelled.

Chet and Lorenzo, with their singular shared brain cell, have mistaken Gwen for an enemy and in a combined move, tackled her to the cold metal floor.

"Gah! Hey! I'm not an enemy!" Gwen became extremely annoyed by this action.

"Wait wait wait wait wait…" Lorenzo tries to grasp the situation here. "We were kidnapped… by Gwen from Total Drama?"

"Wait, what?" Gwen raised an eyebrow at this remark.

"Yeah, I think we were." Chet agrees to this dumb explanation. "Tackle her again!" He yelled even louder.

"Hey! Stop it!" Gwen manages to stop the two before they accidentally touch something… private. "I was not the one who kidnapped you! The three of us woke up in those chambers over there!" She points at the open cryo chambers.

"Oh, alright." Chet was quick to agree.

"But if you weren't the one who kidnapped us, who did?" Lorenzo asks.

"I thought I knew who it was, but after seeing you two dragged into this, I'm having second thoughts." Gwen states.

"Really? Isn't it Chris McLean?" Lorenzo asks.

"As I've said, I'm having second thoughts about it after seeing you two here." Gwen states. "Have you signed a contract owned by Chris?"

"Um… no, actually. The only contract I remember signing is Don's." Chet states.

"Then it wouldn't make sense for Chris to kidnap you guys since it's illegal for him to do that without signing a contract." Gwen states. "Then again, it's not like Chris has done illegal acts before."

"Hey, what about the other chambers?" Lorenzo asks, pointing at the countless amounts of cryo chambers around them.

"Yeah. I wonder if others are there?" Chet asks.

"Yeah, it slipped my mind for a second." Gwen scratches her head in forgetting.

She takes out the remote and presses the same button three times. Some electrical noises were heard as they anxiously waited for three to open. Suddenly, three of the chambers open up in a steam cloud and spits out three figures. For Chet and Lorenzo, they didn't recognise them immediately, but in Gwen's case, she knew them all too well. The Queen Bee, Heather, Chris' legal rival and the Type A, Courtney, and the delinquent with a heart of not-so-pure gold, Duncan.

"Heather?! Courtney?! Duncan?!" Gwen was surprised to see them here.

"Whoa! It's like we wandered into this reunion." Chet remarks.

"This is crazy!" Lorenzo exclaimed.

Gwen was quick to help her comrades up and lie them down on the floor comfortably. As she backs up, the three begin to wake up.

"Brrrr… it's so… cold…" Heather gets up, shivering.

"Ugh… where are we?" Courtney asks.

"Wait, Gwen? Courtney? Heather?" Duncan was confused when he saw them.

"What exactly… are we… doing here?" Heather asks through chilled breaths.

"Guys, are you okay?" Gwen asks, concerned for them.

"Um… other than recalling the feeling of being trapped in… the walk-in freezer? Peachy…" Heather sarcastically remarked.

"Ugh… Chris is going to regret this…" Courtney growled in annoyance.

"Hey! Chris!" Duncan yelled. "Did you take us higher up Canada?! It's freezing!" He was hoping for another response.

"Guys, I'm not sure Chris is the one who did this." Gwen states.

"What makes you so sure about that?!" Courtney asks, getting more annoyed by the second. "Have you seen that our contracts haven't expired?!"

"Of course I remember, but there is one factor you haven't tied into it!" Gwen states.

"And what's that?!" Courtney asks.

"Them!" Gwen yelled while pointing at the Stepbrothers.

Then the arguing stopped as the three looked at the Stepbrothers standing awkwardly outside the conversation.

"Um… hi?" Duncan greets them.

"Woah! We're in the presence of Total Drama stars!" Chet yelled.

"Guys, can we at least stay focused on what's happening?" Gwen asks.

"So, how do these guys factor into disproving our Chris theory?" Heather asks. "They could very well be interns.

"No, they were kidnapped here along with us." Gwen states. "I know Chris will find ways to do horrendous stuff while still being legal. But these guys haven't signed a contract with him, so he doesn't have permission to kidnap them." She explains her theory.

"Hold on, Chris still has a criminal record, how do you know he wouldn't kidnap anyone else?" Courtney asks.

"Because, he's careful not to be reckless. Kidnapping these two will definitely get him on the polices' radar." Gwen states.

"What should we do?" Courtney asks.

"I think we should explore this facility, just so we know what's going on." Heather states. "And maybe if we find Chris, we can beat him up."

"I like that idea." Duncan smirked hearing this remark.

"Come on, this facility isn't gonna explore itself." Courtney urges them to tag along.

"Nah, I think I'll stay here." Gwen states. "You guys go on ahead, I'll try and see if there are others in these chambers."

"I think that's a good idea." Courtney agrees. "This is too little of a group for a new season, so Chris might have gotten some more." She states.

"Okay, suit yourself." Duncan says.

Duncan, Heather, Chet and Lorenzo began walking out of the room and up the stairs, leaving

"Okay, what now?" Courtney asks.

"Well, I found this remote in a computer room." Gwen explains while holding up the remote. "I'm gonna press it again."

Gwen presses the remote 5 times. The same electrical noises were heard as the cryo chambers were activated. After a little while, 5 of the chambers were opened and spit out 5 figures. As the group went closer, they could see who they were. Our zombie phobic Shawn, Australian survivalist Jasmine, snarky know-it-all Noah, and the beloved sisters, Emma and Kitty.

"Great, now we got the know-it-all and the zombie freak. And why did he even bring the Sisters into this?!" Courtney rolled her eyes in seeing this. "I know for sure Noah might have told them to stay away from being on this show!"

"I don't know for sure, but I do know this." Gwen states. "Chris wouldn't be so reckless in getting contestants, so he might not even want to pull this off."

"Hey, there's a possibility that he might." Courtney states.

"Probably, but we can't make any assumptions, not without concrete evidence." Gwen states.

We see Duncan, Heather, Chet and Lorenzo walking out of the computer into a hallway. The cold air surrounding them and the slightly dim lights gave them an odd feeling. Though this didn't stop them from exploring.

"Whoa, this place gives me Resident Evil vibes." Chet states. "Maybe we can fight some mutant spiders!"

"Yeah! We can probably find some weapons here too!" Lorenzer yelled.

"Can you guys be quiet, we're trying to think here." Heather snaps at them.

"Yeah, I agree." Duncan agrees with Heather.

"Thank you." Heather remarks.

"This gives off more Stranger Things than Resident Evil." Duncan states.

"Ugh… why did I agree to explore with you." Heather asks, getting more annoyed.

"Because, you want that pretty boy face of Chris to be beaten down to a pulp, don't you?" Duncan states. "Either you want to watch it happen or you do it yourself."

"I choose both, actually." Heather states. "But I'm starting to get the feeling Gwen has, unfortunately."

"Hey, you're actually sympathizing." Duncan begins to taunt her.

"No I'm not!" Heather denies the claim. "It's just that there's something off about what's going on."

"Really?" Duncan asks sarcastically. "What makes you think otherwise?"

"I don't know! I just can't seem to put my finger on it." Heather states.

"Well, if you aren't sure, just focus on thinking about how you'll beat up the pretty boy." Duncan calmly states without thinking much.

The four reach a small room at the end of the hall. There was a row of three elevator doors in front of them. Due to the electrical reboot, it's still taking time to restart.

"Hmm… it seems we're underground or something." Heather thought for a moment. "It seems odd for us to be placed in this kind of scenario."

"Aight, let's do this." Duncan smiles.

Duncan presses the button and the elevator opens. They walk inside and check the elevator buttons. There was a list of floors ranging from G to -5, meaning they are 5 floors underground.

"Should we get to the ground floor? Maybe to find out where we are?" Lorenzo asks.

"Yeah, that seems smart." Chet agrees.

"Okay then." Duncan agrees.

Duncan presses the button and the elevator closes, beginning it's ascent up the elevator shaft.

We cut back to the chamber room, where the numbers have doubled since 10 minutes ago. Along with the third batch woken up by Gwen, there was also the lovable Owen, the devious Alejandro, musician Trent, smart kid Cody, fangirl Sierra, dweeb nerd Harold, the big sister Leshawna, party boy Geoff and surfer girl Bridgette.

"So, we all found ourselves here, it's very weird…" Geoff tries to think about the situation.

"Are you sure it isn't Chris? I know he would do something like this." Leshawna states.

"There's something off about this entire thing. It just feels way too big for Chris to pull off." Gwen states. "I mean look at these. These are cryogenic chambers!"

"Yeah, now that I think about it, they seem really advanced for Chris to own." Owen states.

"But they're pretty cool, to be honest." Kitty states while using metal rods to hit some pipes like a drum.

"Whoa! Don't break anything important, we still don't know if there are others in these things." Emma warns while taking the rods.

"Yeah, I wonder who else is in these?" Leshawna states.

Gwen presses the button 6 times again. The electrical noises start up again and 6 chambers spit out the figures. The used-to-be DID Mike, Indie Chick Zoey, Bubble Boy Cameron, Gamer Guy Sam, and most surprisingly, rich girl Dakota and infamous homeschooled Ezekiel… BACK TO HUMAN FORM!

"Ezekiel?! Dakota?!" Gwen was caught way off guard by this.

"Dakota?" Sam asks, waking up and turning to his girlfriend. "Dakota?!"

"Yes Sam?" Dakota also begins waking up, but notices something wrong. "Wait, my voice. It's back to normal!" She then checks herself as she makes a startling revelation. "What the?! I'm not a mutant anymore!"

The commotion causes the other four to wake up.

"Ugh… what happened, yo?" Ezekiel woke up. "Eh? I don't feel animalistic anymore!"

"Um… Zeke and Dakota?" Mike was confused.

"How are they back to being human?" Zoey asks.

"I think we're dreaming." Cameron states.

Then all three simultaneously slap themselves in the face, with a satisfying sound.

"Agh! Not dreaming!" Mike exclaimed.

"Wait, what exactly is going on here?" Cameron asks. "Since this isn't a dream, I want to know what's happening."

"That's what we're trying to figure out too." Gwen states. "Something is really wrong about this."

"Guys, try and remember what you were doing before waking up here." Zoey instructs.

"You know? Come to think of it, I don't remember anything out of the ordinary." Trent states.

"I remember just getting ready for a flight to Morocco." Leshawna states.

"Though I did remember sleeping very early for some reason." Noah states.

"So you don't remember anything before sleeping?" Gwen asks.

"No, not really." Shawn states.

"Well, while you guys figure stuff out, I'll just explore the facility." Cody states.

"We probably might meet up with the others." Sierra states.

While the two make their way to the stairs, Cody trips on something. He was holding a metal bar while this was happening and it fell out of his grasp. As the rod makes contact with the ground, it makes a loud clang.

"Gaaah!" Gwen yelled as she felt an extreme migraine from the noise. This startled the others. "Gah… agh…"

"Whoa, Gwen? What's wrong?" Courtney asks.

"Gah… I don't know. When I heard the loud clang, it was like… messing with my head or something." Gwen tries to explain what she felt. "Gah… that was so loud."

"Come on, let's just get you somewhere else." Trent offered to help.

"Okay then… but agh, this migraine is killing me…" Gwen states.

Gwen then gives the remote to Courtney as she walks with Trent to go to a secluded spot.

"Okay, let's see who else is here." Courtney states.

We cut to another room on a different floor. There was another row of elevators inside, and one of them opened, revealing Duncan, Heather, Chet and Lorenzo as they walked out to inspect the room. In front of the elevators, there was a vault-like door in front of them.

"Hmm… a vault door?" Heather was confused by this.

"Let's check it out. Maybe we can see what's on the other side." Duncan states.

The four walk to the gate and Duncan turns the latch. Even with his strength, it still was tough to open it. Eventually, the latch unlocks and the door opens, revealing a small cavern leading to the outside, where they can see the sunlight.

"Okay, here we go…" Heather nervously says. "Let's see what's at the end of this tunnel."

The four slowly and carefully make their way through the cavern while also avoiding scrapes from the cavern walls. As they make it out of the tunnel, and their eyes adjust to the lighting, they see where they are.

"What the?" Heather slightly gasped at the sight.

The four find themselves in a forest-like mountain range. The tunnel into the facility is somewhere in the middle of a mountain, and they see a base like camp a couple yards below them.

"Where are we?" Duncan asks.

"I have no idea." Chet states

"I have a feeling we're somewhere north of Toronto, or probably Yellowstone." Heather states, and another feeling arises in her. "Why isn't anyone here?"

"Maybe they're all in that base camp down there." Lorenzo states.

"Let's go up first so we can get a view of our surroundings." Duncan states.

"You go do that. I'm gonna go down there and find Chris." Heather states.

"We want to go!" Chet states.

"Maybe we can get an autograph!" Lorenzo yelled.

"No, Chris' autograph isn't worth it." Duncan states. "Trust me."

The four split up, with Duncan climbing up the mountain and Heather, Chet and Lorenzo going down to check the camp. For the three that were trekking down the mountain, it was pretty easy for them to walk down as they reached the base camp.

"Whoa! I didn't expect it to look like this." Chet awed at the sight of the camp.

"Something's wrong…" Heather states.

The base camp doesn't look like one a TV crew would use when recording outdoors. Instead, it looks more like a small military outpost. Along with white tents surrounding a circular orange building that looks like it's made of tarp, there were multiple crates and armored vehicles surrounding it, but there was no one there.

"Is this some sort of military base?" Lorenzo asks.

"Let's look further. We need to get answers." Heather states.

The three walk into the outpost, not knowing what they'll find.

We then cut back into the facility, where some figures have also woken up. There was the good hearted jock Tyler, the bubbly blonde Lindsay, resident Super Bowl star Lightning, the arrogant Jo, the cadet Brick, the athlete Sky, the vegans, Laurie and Miles, the tennis rivals, Gerry and Pete and Geoff's friend Brody.

"Wait, hold up, you're saying that almost everyone who competed in Total Drama and the Ridonculous Race have been sent here?" Sky asks.

"Yeah! Why am I pulled into this? I was preparing for another Super Bowl game!" Lightning was agitated by this.

"Eh, we have been through many hardships before." Gerry shrugs off the situation.

"This ain't our first time getting kidnapped, kids." Pete states.

"What?" Kitty was confused by this.

"Don't ask for the specifics, it's very disturbing." Gerry states.

"Let's see who else is here." Courtney states.

Courtney presses the button again, and a chamber spits out someone in a steam cloud, but as it dissipates, they see someone incredibly surprising.

"Don?!" Everyone who has competed in the Ridonculous Race were surprised to see him.

"Huh? What's going on…?" Don was waking up slowly. "Wait, what the?!" He then gets up in a hurry. "Where am I?!"

"That's what we're trying to figure out too." Courtney says. "Now calm down, we need to figure out why we're here."

"Alright then. At least I can quickly go back to professionalism after a breakdown." Don immediately went back to his composed self. "Hey, why are you guys here too?" He asks his own competitors.

"I have absolutely no idea." Brody states.

"We somehow woke up here too." Emma states.

"Listen, we don't know for sure who's doing this, but I can assure you, when we find out who did this…" Courtney says. "They're gonna pay."

"Guys, look. Maybe after Duncan and Heather come back, we might have an understanding of what's going on." Gwen states.

"Why would you send Heather out?" Leshawna asks.

"Because, she's as much revenge driven as most of us." Gwen states.

We then cut back to the inside of the military outpost. Heather, Chet and Lorenzo were scouring around the tents. Heather opens up a small crate, and sees multiple cans of food. And also bottled water along with it. But the labels on them confused her.

"Nature's Delight? The Nebula Company? What are these, foreign brands?" Heather was confused by the brands.

"Hey, food is food, and everyone likes food." Chet states.

"Eh, whatever. We might be able to feed the others." Heather states.

"Ooh! What is this?" Lorenzo was distracted by a certain crate.

The crate seemed to be like the ones used for holding weapons, or important items, or dangerous substances. Lorenzo opens it up and sees a relatively small cannon like gun. The muzzle appears to be a spinning section to keep whatever is shot stablized. There was also an area to insert battery like items, so this seems to be an energy gun.

"Whoa! What is this thing?!" Lorenzo then picks it up. "Ugh, man this thing is heavy!"

"What was that?" Heather then turned to Lorenzo and saw the big gun he was holding. "Oh my gosh!" She fell back, startled by the gun. "What the heck is that?!"

"I think it's some sort of gun." Lorenzo states as he checks the gun and sees a name. "It's called a Charge Rifle?"

"Whoa! Sweet gun, bro!" Chet exclaimed in awe of the size of the gun.

"Let's test it out!" Lorenzo was quick to the idea.

"What?! No!" Heather tries to stop them.

The Stepbrothers run outside the tent while holding the Charge Rifle together so it will be carried easily.

"Fire!" The two yelled.

"Wait!" Heather tries to stop them.

When the trigger is pulled, the spinning portion spins as the gun lights up in a charging manner, and suddenly, the weapon fires a big laser at a cliff face for a second. The force of the recoil sends the two flying into the central building of the outpost, breaking the door open.

"Oh crap!" Heather ran into the building.

The building had a more suitable living space. There was a small bed and some cabinets. And it looks like something out of a space station.

"Ugh… that was awesome." Chet groaned in pain.

"What are you guys even doing?!" Heather asks in utter annoyance.

"Man, that energy knocked us back!" Lorenzo groaned.

"Ugh!" Heather was annoyed.

Something then caught Heather's eye. A small phone-like device on a desk.

"What's that?" Heather was focused on it.

Heather walks up to it and picks it up. And the phone looks completely different to the ones she has seen in her life.

"This is one strange phone." Heather remarks. "I think I can call for help here."

Heather taps onto the screen and a bright light shines into her eyes.

"Gah!" Heather dropped the phone in pain.

The phone drops to the floor, and a holographic screen appears above it.

"Whoa! Hologram! That's so cool!" Lorenzo exclaimed.

After Heather recovers from the light, she notices that the screen was structured like an email app. There was only one message, sent by someone under the alias of I.M.C.

"Hmm, the IMC? I have no idea what that is." Chet was confused by the name.

"Maybe it's a new company." Lorenzo states.

"I wonder what the date is?" Chet asks.

"What are you talking about? It's probably just the next day." Heather states.

"It probably won't hurt to try." Lorenzo states.

"Ugh… fine." Heather then checks the screen for the date. "What? Is this real? It can't be…" Heather was confused and concerned by what was written, January 13… 2735.

We then cut back to the facility. Courtney was ready to press the remote again.

"Let's see who else is inside." Courtney says.

Courtney pressed the remote twice, and the entire room waited in suspense. And once the chambers spit them out, all of them widen their eyes in surprise.

"Chris?!" They all exclaimed.
