"Brother, it can't be the Monster. He died years ago, she must be of the same clan." The one to the right of the road said as he clutched his chest, blood dripping from the wound.

"Right." The first one said... before a kunai appeared in his chest. Yamo was on one knee as Kakashi held the wounded brother in a head lock.

"Yamo." Kakashi said. "You didn't have too do that." He said as the brother with the kunai embedded fell over unmoving, blood pouring from their mouth and chest staining the road red.

Yamo didn't say anything as she calmly ripped the kunai from the body. "We only needed one." She said as she sheathed her sword before turning to Naruto, "Are you okay Naruto?" She asked as she walked towards him looking at the bloody back of his hand.

"First I have some questions for Tazuna." Kakashi said as he tied up and dressed the wound on the shinobi, "Afterall, were those ninja here for us ninja, or the good bridge builder?"

Chapter 6: Deadly Ninja

Naruto stepped backwards as he looked at the body on the ground, the bloody kunai still in Yamo's hand as she took his hand, blood dripping from the cut. "Stay still." She said as she calmly pulled a bandage and tightly tied it around his forearm. "I have to get the poison out."

"P-poison!" Naruto yelled as her surprisingly strong grip held him in place. She wiped her kunai on her pants leg and made a small cut along the cut on Naruto's hand.

"Yamo what are you doing!?" Sakura ran up to the Uchiha girl as she brought the hand to her mouth.

"She's removing the poison, Yamo's mother was a top ranked Jounin. She must have taught her a few things before she died." Kakashi said as he bound the defeated ninja to a tree.

Yamo turned her head to the side and spat out a mouthful of blood before binding the cut. "I did what I can, but I don't know much more about first aid." She said as she wiped the blood from her mouth, her lips stained red.

"You..." Naruto started.

"You just killed a man!" Sakura spun Yamo around and started to shake her.

"And? He was trying to kill us, should I have let him hurt you?" Yamo asked pointedly. "We're ninja, we are expected to kill, to spill the blood of enemies, regardless of what age we are asked to do it. If this is about my innocence as a child, don't bother with that. The whole reason I became a ninja is to kill."

Sakura stepped back... "What do you mean?"

Kakashi stepped forwards at that that moment. "Enough, now Tazuna mind explaining what's going on. If we had expected there to be enemy ninja attacks then this mission would have been ranked as a B or A class mission. You're lucky Yamo instincts take over when combat is involved, it allows her to fight without thinking first, or to hesitate on life or death choices. Her actions saved your life and her teammates as well."

Tazuna remained silent, looking at the body on the ground. "There is a man named Gato..." He explained what the corporate oligarch has done to his homeland. Gang violence, isolating the people and taking over the shipping of the island nation.

In a suspended building a short man in a business suit sunglasses met with a ninja whose face was hidden by white bandages. By his side was a massive blade with a whole near the tip and a half circle cut in the blade near the guard. "Zabuza, you're men failed in their mission." Gato snarled at the taller man. "One of them was killed by a child. maybe you ninja aren't...!" Gato was silenced when Zabuza pointed the massive weapon at him with ease.

"Silence. We aren't dealing with a normal genin, a black haired girl with a tail from the Hidden Leaf. She has to be the Monster's child." Zabuza stood up. "If you want to survive then you will stay out of the way."

"Don't be ridiculous, what can one snot nosed brat do?" Gato snapped back, "And if you are so certain she's a problem, kill this would be hero."

Gato left the ninja as he looked out the window. In Zabuza's mind the screams of thousands filled his thoughts, as images of a man coated in blood waded through bodies, a evil smile etched his face. "Jikama the Monster... he who buried a thousand clans."

It's been several days since Team Seven encountered the brother ninja. Now they sat in a small boat as a man ferried them to the islands of the land of waves. A massive bridge loomed over them in the thick fog. Naruto was held down by Yamo to keep him quiet.

"Gato has the whole nation under his thumb with the use of his thugs. He's restricted shipments in and out of the islands to keep us starving." Tazuna said the boat silently glided towards the island. "To make us dependent on him."

As the small boat docked the group of them disembarked onto the dock the three genin staying close to Tazuna as he led them to his home.

"Is it just me or is this fog getting thicker?" Sakura asked.

"Kakashi sensei... something isn't right." Yamo said as her hand rested on the hilt of her katana, her tail curled tight.

They moved silently through the woods when Naruto jumped at something in the bush. "Naruto! What are you doing!?" Sakura berated him for scaring her. Ever since the encounter with the ninja on the road Naruto had been on edge, mumbling about how he would get stronger so that Yamo wouldn't have to save him.

Sakura and Naruto broke through the brush to see a white rabbit nearly pinned to a tree. "Naruto!"

Kakashi walked up behind the duo and looked down at the animal. "A snow rabbit? At this time of year?" He said out loud.

"A substitution!" Yamo called out, turning on her heel to tackle Tazuna to the ground. But the blow wasn't meant for the bridge builder.

Yamo was struck with a massive blade that knocked her off her feet. A cut ran along her chest that bleed as she clutched the wound. "She's almost as durable as her old man." The gruff voice turned their attention upwards. "So your kind dose have blood." A bare chested ninja with a white bandage mask and a headband from the village hidden in the mist.

"Zabuza Momochi." Kakashi said as Sakura and Naruto ran to Yamo and Tazuna, the old man holding the wounded girl by the shoulder as she stood up.

"Kakashi of the Sharingan, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that you were assigned to oversee Jikama's daughter, the one person from the leaf that would have the killing instinct of a ninja. To think Konoha kept her hidden all this time, the other villages would have sought revenge day after day for her father's actions." Zabuza said as he looked down from the tree, the blood rolling down the edge of his sword.

"Sharingan?" Yamo asked as she brought her hands up to the cut across her chest.

"Enough, you're here for the bridge builder." Kakashi said as he reached up for his head band pulling it up to reveal a red eye with three marks in a circle around the pupil. "I have to end this quick." He said under his breath as he and Zabuza clashed.

"Girl!" Tazuna held onto Yamo as her hands made shaky symbols before a small flame appeared at the end of her fingertips.

"I have to cauterize the cut." Yamo said as she tried to bring the flame to the cut but as it touched the skin she screamed and pulled the flame away.

Sakura grabbed her hand keeping the ninjutsu sign intact. "Let me help!" She said as Tazuna helped keep Yamo still.

Kakashi fought Zabuza in the mist. No words exchanged as they fought back and forth. Kakashi rushed Zabuza throwing kunai, but he only destroyed a water clone.

"SENSEI BEHIND YOU!" Naruto called out as the real Zabuza attacked Kakashi with the blunt edge of his massive weapon, sending him over the water.

The jounin stood on the water as he held his chest. "That's going to leave a mark." Kakashi said as Zabuza was on him again, this time with water style jutsu.

On land the battle wasn't any better. Naruto stood between the water clone and the others. In his frustration he charged Zabuza, "You snot nosed brat, you think just because you have a head band that makes you a ninja?" The water clone stuck the orange clad boy with the back of his hand, causing the head band to fall off.

"Naruto!" Yamo called out as Sakura helped her to her feet, the wound burned closed on her chest.

Kakashi heard the cry and looked over to the children leaving himself open to Zabuza, "Water style: Water Prison Jutsu!" Zabuza caught the white haired ninja in a sphere of water.

Yamo got to her feet as she drew her sword. But something shocked her, the blade was shaking in her hands. "I can taste your fear." The Zabuza clone said, I was intrigued when you girl killed one of my men, something about you was different then other leaf genin, and that's your father, the Monster of the leaf."

"My father wasn't a monster!" Yamo yelled as she held the blade.

"I can finally get revenge." The clone stepped forward, but Naruto charged him.

"You keep your mouth shut!" The whiskered boy shouted, only to be bashed away once again.

"Get out of here!" Kakashi yelled from the water prison, "We already lost! No point in you dying!"

Naruto stood up, bleeding from his forehead, his hand gripped around...

"No way, he..." Sakura said as she looked at the blonde.

Naruto tied his headband back on, "Yamo and fear, don't say something so stupid. She is the bravest person I know! And we won't back away from you! I won't lose because that's my ninja way!" He made a cross with his fingers, "SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!"
