Chapter 1
The Darkhold. It's called the book of the sinned, the book of the damned and of course the book of infinite knowledge.
It's amazing how something so amazing can even exist. Every since I discovered who I am, what I truly am, I have found ways to use my abilities I never imagined before.
And then I discovered the multiverse and I discovered that outside of our universe, exists many others all with infinite possibilities. But never have I imagined that, out of all the other possibilities, my life is the most screwed up.
We all have infinite versions of ourselves, each with their own lives including one or two things in common with one another. But I am the only one who is different. I didn't get the guy, and as much as I've made peace with that, since I am the one who left and went where he couldn't find me, I also learnt that my brother was alive.
I told myself over and over again that, I made peace with that too. I lost Pietro and he died sacrificing his life for another, but still the book kept on toying and toying with me.
I learnt to dreamwalk. I tried every method I could use to being my brother back.
I tried necromancy, even created my own pocket dimension existing in a reality with him in it. But there always had to be one thing telling me that none of this was real.
Learning that there was infinite possibilities where I could've had my happy ending, was pretty maddening.
And then one day the darkhold finally just gave me my answer. The realm of eternity.
~
It's another spring season, the air already freshly coated by the sweat apple tree scent. It's only now when I decide to take some for myself to make some tea.
Arriving outside I have my basket in one hand, scissors in the other. I reach the first tree reaching for the branches and simply snipping a few off before dropping them inside a basket.
It's then when there's something odd about the air around me. I can sense a presence near, my magic even feeling it and that's when I do smirk, glancing behind me seeing a man standing there, dressed in a white cloak.
Skin as pale as death, eyes hard and cold, and a face I can't seem to be familiar with. Yet I keep staying calm.
I turn away from the tree seeing that the other branches are too high for me to reach so I walk on to the next one.
"Wanda Maximoff." The man says clearly now seeking for my attention, after I just ignored him. Not that was ignoring him, I simply waited for him to tell me what he wants. But clearly I should be the one asking him.
"Can I help you?" I ask him, turning to look at him as I toss the scissors into the basket before I put it down.
He comes even closer, but stops when I tilt my head. I can't get in his head and it's hard to trust any man who just appeared out of no where. So much darkness I am sensing around him, he doesn't have any pure intentions.
"I can see all the greatness in you." he says, his voice husky before a psychopathic smile creeps up on his face. A wide and bright smile, obviously not so bright when it looks like his teeth are literally covered in black ink.
"Well I am sure there's a lot more you'll see, if you don't tell me who you are and what you actually want." I say stepping closer. I can feel the chaos already igniting inside me.
"I have been watching you my child. I have seen your pain. I have seen you suffering, and I honestly do believe you deserve better. I believe that there is something that you want, something that you might need." He takes careful steps, hands behind his back as he circles around me. "What if I told you I might able to help."
I don't know who this man, or where he came from. The first thing I do is make powerful sphere of magic appear in my hand, but he's quick to place his cold and hard hand on my wrist.
"Hush. I am not the enemy here. Why would I truly dare to take on a goddess of chaos, like yourself. All I am here to do, is give you my help." he says.
I have so many doubts right now. Doubts in this man who says he wants to help me. I am of course reminded of Agatha Harkness, the one person who was hellbent on ruining my life. She took my trust and stabbed me in the back. I can't trust anyone after what happened in Westview.
But for some reason, it feels like there's some truth in what this man is telling me. Like he knows what it is I'm looking for. The realm of eternity.
"Your help..." I mutter, waiting for him to release my wrist before I turn to face him. "You know where the realm of eternity is."
He lets out a breathless chuckle, slowly turning away before holding one of my apple tree pedals between his thumb and index finger. I watch how a mere touch of his makes the pedal writhe away, like it suddenly decayed. "Of course I do. I know what it is that you truly seek Wanda Maximoff, and I do know how you can reach it. But first I will be needing something from you in return."
"And how can I just trust you?" I ask narrowing my eyes at him. I don't want to be misguided into anything. And again, nobody can ever misguide me. No one will ever used me for their selfish reasons. I'm the Scarlet witch, destined to rule the world and I will do whatever it takes to get my brother back to me.
He doesn't give me an answer but he clearly knows he already has me hooked. I've waited for this, for a long time and now the time has finally come. Once I finally find the eternity, I'll use my one wish to bring back Pietro.
"Count me in." I say, my lips slowly forming a twisted smile. "What is that you need?"
"We can start this over a warm cup of tea." The man says, clearly he is inviting himself. He turns on his heels and he starts walking. "My name is Gorr by the way."
I start walking aswell and once the house comes into close view all the trees and leafs fade into red dust. My clothes starting to fade aswell conjuring into a my Scarlet Witch attire. Shown scorched on a few areas, just as scorched as my finger tips. Dark marks and cracks appearing on my chest along with my red crown formed by my magic.
"Lovely to meet you Gorr."
