Year: 832

Vega and Grisha are in a open field clear of any Titans as they were preparing to do a test. In Grisha's hand is a knife that Vega lent him as he was stretching.

Vega: "Alright Grisha let's put this power to the test."

Grisha: "So I should be able to just control my Titan like it's my own body?"

Vega: "I'm 50/50 about that."

Grisha: "What?! You're not even sure?!"

Vega: "I'm not a Titan expert what did you expect?! But that's why we're doing this. So just transform already."

Grisha: "Alright, Alright!"

With that the Titan Shifter raises the blade into the air and stabs his hand while Vega gets into position waiting to see the transformation, but nothing happens, except a loud yell from Grisha.

Grisha: "AHHHHHH FUCK THAT HURTS!"

Vega: "You okay Grisha?"

Grisha: "What do you think?!"

Vega: "Well you need to hurry up and stop whining so we can get to the Walls before we get overrun by Titans."

Grisha: "I know that! I want to reach the walls as much as you do!"

And when he finished saying that a yellow lightning strikes down upon Grisha as his new Titan form started to form as Vega stood his ground watching the transformation. After the dust cleared he examined Grisha's Attack Titan form. It's much different from Kruger's Titan that's for sure.

Vega: 'That's an interesting Attack Titan look. Nice beard.'

The Assassin smiles looking at his Titan friend in awe as it's quite a sight.

Vega: "Now if I remember Grisha should be able to control his Titan on the first try, or is it the second attempt? It's the first I belie-"

Grisha's Titan looks at Vega which makes his smile slowly fade as Grisha tries to punch Vega but thankfully he was able to evade the strike.

Vega: "Ah shit it's definitely the second try!"

With Vega's quick reaction speed he was able to dodge the multiple strikes Grisha was sending out at him. Vega then decided to fight back and activated his wrist blades into stage one. With that he was able to slice off the Attack Titan's fingers as they got close to him. He then jumped over his arms and sliced them off as he rolled onto the ground and regained his stance.

Vega: "Come on Grisha this isn't funny! If you're still mad about the rope incident it was 10 years ago get over it!"

Seeing as Grisha tried to lunge at him Vega jumped over Grisha's head and used his rope launcher to launch a wire onto the back of his Titan's head and reeled himself in so he landed next to the nape. Using his Eagle Pulse he quickly located where Grisha was within the nape and used his blade to cut around him as he reached in and pulled out his friend making the Titan go limp. Vega simply sighs as he places Grisha down onto the grass.

Vega: "This is gonna take some time isn't it? Well we have some time so let's get to it."

Thanks to some trial and error, Grisha was finally able to control his Titan form with ease, so after some rest they set off towards the walls. Grisha now in his Titan form is running along the plains of Paradis as Vega is on his shoulder holding onto his hair keeping a lookout for any Pure Titans.

Vega: "Area looks clear for now, we're very lucky not to stumble into any Pure Titans around here. If we keep going at this rate we'll be at the Walls soon."

And as if fate heard him some Pure Titans came into view as they spotted the Grisha's Titan which made them charge at the two making Vega curse under his breath.

Vega: "Just had to open my fucking mouth didn't I?! GRISHA FOUR TITANS CHARGING IN FROM BEHIND, GET READY AND I'LL COVER YOU!"

Grisha just rolled his eyes and sighs as he stopped running and faced towards the incoming Titans as Vega sets his wrist blades into stage 2. As a 10 meter Titan came close to them, Grisha gave it a powerful right hook sending it flying which made Grisha stumble a bit since he isn't used to fighting in his Titan body. Two Titans then tried to get him from behind but thankfully Vega jumped off Grisha's shoulder and slid under one of the Titans as he sliced off its Achilles heel making it fall face first into the ground as Vega ran up the Titan's back and sliced off the nape while Grisha dealt with the other one ripping its head off leaving only one left which was the one Grisha punched away.

Vega: "Let's finish this one off together Grisha."

Grisha just gave a nod as both Grisha and the Titan charged at each other's and clashed with Grisha holding the Titan still leaving its nape exposed giving Vega a opportunity, so seeing this he shoots a wire from his rope launcher directly onto the head of the Titan's and reels himself in and setting the blades into step 3 he slashed the neck of the Titan's cutting the head clean off. Grisha let's go of the Titan's body and they both looked around seeing the steaming corpses of the Titans.

Vega: "These things were people like us once, now look at them forced to spend the rest of their days like this... May you all finally Rest In Peace."

Vega was seen helping Grisha, who was now in his human form walk towards the walls as they were now near enough to see them clearly.

Vega: "Look at that Grisha we're finally here at Wall Maria. I've only read about these walls back in the temple but seeing them in person, it's something else."

Grisha: "And to imagine that within these walls are millions of Colosal Titans."

They stop at a tree and Vega sets Grisha down leaning against the tree for him to rest.

Vega: "Okay so we need to get our stories straight about who we are and where we came from. So any ideas?"

Grisha: "We can keep our regular names I suppose no need to make up any."

Vega: "Makes sense, we can just come up with an excuse that we lost our memories or something."

Both Vega and Grisha looks at each other and begin to laugh at that.

Grisha: "Pfft! Oh yeah they'll definitely believe that we both lost our memories and can't remember anything apart from our names!"

Vega: "Hahaha imagine if they actually just take us in believing us."

After a couple of seconds they compose themselves as Vega hears something going on not to far from them.

Vega: "Hey shut it I hear something. We're not alone out here."

Grisha brings out his knife and puts it near the palm of his hand.

Grisha: "More Titans?"

The Assassin shakes his head as he looks from behind the tree and see people on horses who are also... fighting Titans?

Vega: "No it's... people. But they're fighting Titans?"

Grisha: "Sorry I must still be a bit dazed from exiting my Titan because I think I heard you say that there are people fighting Titans."

Vega: "Nope you heard me correctly people fighting Titans. They seem to be using some kind of mechanism to move around and fight Titans."

Grisha: "It seems they've advanced themselves enough into fighting Titans outside the comforts of the walls."

Vega: "Seems that way. Now if we want to get inside the wa-

Before Vega could finish what he was saying his senses kicks in making him get in front of Grisha and puts a arm out in front of him in a protective manner as someone on a horse appears before them. The man had short dark hair which he kept neatly combed and he also has a clean shaved chin.

???: "Hey, you two! What are you both doing out here? Did you somehow climb down the walls?!"

Vega: 'I mean if I wanted to I could probably climb the wall no problem.'

Vega took a quick glance at Grisha as if signaling him to say something that could help them.

Grisha: "Wh-What are you all doing outside the wall?! Don't tell me... you're fighting?!"

???: "Huh?"

Vega just mentally face palmed.

Vega: "W-We have no recollection on how we got out here. I meet this man who's in the same situation as I, we both don't remember anything besides our names."

???: "Well then, what are your names."

Grisha: "My name is Grisha Jeager."

Vega: "And I'm Vega Eidorian. What's yours?"

???: "My name is Keith Shadis. I'm a member of the Scout Regiment."

Vega took interest of the insignia on Keith's green cape which resembles two bird wings with one blue and the other white.

Vega: 'Scout Regiment? Interesting.'

Keith: "Sorry about this but I'll need to take you both in for questioning."

Grisha: "That's understandable."

Keith nods and he leads the Assassin and Titan Shifter towards the entrance of Wall Maria as Vega and Grisha share a nod. And to make sure things go smoothly Vega sets his wrist blades into lock mode so they won't accidentally activate.

Within a Cell

As Vega and Grisha were put into separate cells they waited until they were alone to speak to each other. Vega was using his Eagle Vision to look around the area to make sure no one would be able to hear in on their conversation, while Grisha sat on a bench in his cell and Vega leaned his back against the bars. And once he saw the area was cleared he deactivated his Eagle Vision.

Vega: "Coast is clear, we can talk now."

Grisha: "How do you know it's safe?"

Vega; "I have abilities that gives me the edge in these types of situations, I'll tell you about them later once we get settled."

He gives him a nod and asks something.

Grisha: "So what do we do now that we infiltrated the walls?"

Vega: "We need to study about the history of this place and find a place for us within their society."

Grisha: "Good idea I can probably work as a doctor here. They'll definitely need someone with advance medical knowledge, what about you?"

Vega: "I'll look into their military see what I think suits me the best. And maybe I can help advance their technological progress."

They share a nod as Vega puts a finger up to his lips signaling that someone is approaching. And as if on cue Keith enters the room alongside a blonde short haired man with golden hazel eyes that looks a bit drunk.

But what caught Vega's attention was the insignia on the blonde's soldier which was different from Keith's. Seems instead of the wings it has two roses.

???: "Who'd knew that it was a crime to go into Titan Territory without permission. I'd bet that they're the first guys to try it, I mean I always thought it was you scouts who were dumb enough to go out there."

Keith: "Something tells me that's there's also a jail idiots who drink on duty, aye Hannes?"

Vega: 'Better start keeping track of their names just in case, hmm that insignia looks different from Keith's. A different military group?'

Hannes: "Ehh I mean it's not like they actually hurt anybody, so let's just keep this to ourselves, yeah?"

Keith: "Yeah."

Hannes opened both of the cells and let them out as Vega looks points at the insignia on Hannes jacket.

Vega: "What does the insignia on your jacket means? It's different from Keith's."

The blonde looks at the logo on his jacket and gave a cheeky smile while starting to talk with confidence.

Hannes: "Oh this? Why this here my friend stands for the Garrison. We keep watch over the walls all day long, yes sir indeed we are all hard workers hehe."

A snicker could be heard from Keith.

Keith: "Yeah he's definitely a prime example of a Garrison soldier."

Keith walks out of the room while Grisha follows him.

Vega: "Well it was nice to meet you Hannes, maybe we'll see each others some other time."

Hannes: "Likewise maybe we can share a drink together sometimes. Just come find me whenever."

Vega gives Hannes a nod and walks out of the room to regroup with Grisha and Keith who were standing side to side.

Keith: "So Vega, Grisha, do you two have any idea on where you two will go from here? Maybe I can help."

Grisha: "I do remember something aside from my name. I was a doctor, introduced me to a hospital, I should be able to help there."

Keith: "Huh? Well what about you Vega?"

Vega: "I doubt I'm well versed in medicine like Grisha, but I do think I can think of something once I gain my bearings."

Keith: "That's fine with me, take your time."

Grisha: "If possible, can you teach us both about this world? And about the scouts too? About everything inside the walls."

Keith: "Yeah I can do that, why don't we go to a pub and discuss this."

Vega: "Sounds good to me."

Keith nods and leads starts to lead the two newcomers to the pub.

As Keith changed into normal clothes he begun to teach the two about this worlds history, Vega made sure to mentally take notes about the important information that he'll need to write down on his journal. But what interests Vega the most was scouts expeditions outside the walls, which were done to help discover more about the outside land.

Grisha: "I see, although there's inequality, lives within the walls is mostly peaceful. If nothing else you aren't in constant fear of the Titans, that's good."

Keith: "You think so do ya? That just means you're just like the rest."

Grisha: "Eh?"

Keith: "We're trapped inside these walls, but as long as there is enough food and alcohol to go around most people are fine with that. In their whole lives they'll never question... how wide the world may be."

Grisha: "Is that why you risk your life to venture outside the walls? To see how wide the world is?"

Keith: "That's right, does it seem foolish?"

The scout gives Grisha a nervous smile.

Grisha: "No quite the opposite. Scouts are wiser and braver than anyone else living within the walls. Their very existence is living proof that the imagination and soul of mankind are still free."

Vega takes a quick drink from his mug and looks at his hand.

Vega: "Couldn't have said it better myself Grisha. I agree that the Scouts are the only proof that there are people in these walls that are willing to risk their lives for hope of a better opportunity outside of here."

Keith looks at the two as if they're joking.

Keith: "Is that what you both think? Seriously?"

Grisha/Vega: "Yes/Definitely."

A woman with black hair walks up to the three.

???: "What's this Keith?"

Grisha: "Huh?"

She lightly hits Keith's head with a plate.

???: "You better not be recruiting for the scouts again."

Keith: "No not this time Carla, I was just-"

Vega: 'Carla? I'll keep that in mind.'

Grisha: "No I'm not really suited for that kind of work. It takes someone special to become a scout, you have to be a Chosen One."

Vega/Keith: 'A Chosen One?'

Carla: "That's one way to put it."

The woman known as Carla then walks away to other customers she has to tend to, as Grisha stood from the table and went to the restroom.

Vega: "Well thank you Keith for having to deal with us two strangers who lost their memories."

Keith: "It was no problem really, please allow me to buy you two a room and we can take Grisha to the hospital tomorrow. Have you figured out what you wanted to do Vega?"

Vega: "If possible I would like to check out the Scout Regiment. Hearing about your cause... it inspired me."

Keith was taken aback from what Vega said. Wanting to join even with the risk of losing your own life, and saying that no hesitation it was inspiring if nothing else.

Keith: "I can take you to our headquarters tomorrow and test out what you can do. I'll have to speak to the Commander about this, but I doubt he'll mind another soldier joining us."

Vega: "Sounds like a plan I'll look forward to it."

Vega holds out his hand to Keith and they both shake hands as Grisha returns.

Vega and Grisha who now parted ways from Keith are now walking towards the middle of the district as they stopped at a tall building.

Grisha: "So why are we here again?"

Vega: "We need to get a better understanding of the layout here and coming to a vantage point we can get a birds eye view of this district."

Grisha: "So how in the world are we supposed to do that?"

Vega: "I can do it no problem. Just watch.

Before Grisha could say anything he saw Vega beginning to climb up the building without any hesitation, and as he kept climbing people started to watch in confusion, wondering why someone is climbing the tall building.

Woman: "What in the walls is that man doing?"

Man: "You think he's one of them drunkies who was dared to do this?"

Woman: "Doubt it, if he was drunk, he would've fallen already. Or he has them weird drunk abilities to do inhuman things once drunk."

Once Vega reaches the very tip of the building he closes his eyes and opens them as he was synchronizing the area with an eagle flying over him, making sure he sees every inch of the district in its entirety as well as enjoying the view he gets.

Vega: 'Gotta say, the view up here is beautiful. And now it's time to take a...Leap of Faith.'

Standing up still while balancing on the tip of the building, Vega outstretched his arms out in the wind and took in the fresh air.

Back down with Grisha

Grisha: "Wait why is he outstretching his arms like that?!"

Woman: "You think he's gonna jump?!"

Man: "Nah he's not that dumb enough to do it, right?"

Grisha: "I mean if he did jump where would he land? There's nothing to stop his fall besides...

Grisha then looks at the nearby cart with hay in it.

Grisha: "Oh you gotta be kidding me."

Back up top with Vega

Leaning forward Vega did a vertical leap from the top and started to fall at a rapid pace with a completely straight stature and midway through the fall he slowly did a head-over-heels roll in mid-air as he landed into the cart with hay in it.

Jumping out of the cart he was in he casually walked to Grisha who was still shocked seeing Vega recklessly performing a jump like that.

Vega: "Okay so I got a good view up there and I now know where the hotel is so let's go."

Grisha: "What in the hell was that?! I thought you were gonna die! Why did you do that?!"

Vega placed a hand on his friend's shoulder to calm him down.

Vega: "It's alright Grisha it's just something us Assassins do. Plus I needed to do that so I can know where stuff is."

Grisha: "I! You! Never mind..."

Vega just chuckled as he started to walk towards the hotel.

Vega: "Come on now we don't wanna be out here before it gets dark now."

Vega: 'Hopefully using the scouts will allow me to find these artifacts faster than doing it solo. But we'll see."

And with that both the Assassin and Titan Shifter makes their first steps into this world, ready to take on the challenges that come their way. And as the scene zooms out an Eagle soars through the sky over the District.
