Jax's eyes snapped open when he reached to pull Brea closer to him and he realized she was not there. He rolled over and looked at the alarm clock. It was nine-thirty in the morning. He shuffled out of bed and went looking for her and the kids. The house was empty except the patio door was open. He found Jessica sitting outside smoking.
"Morning Jessica."
Jessica looked up at Jax and smiled.
"Good Morning handsome."
Jax sat down next to her.
"Where did Brea head to so early in the morning?"
"Work. She took Abel to your moms and Mya to preschool." She said offering Jax a cigarette out of a newly open pack. Jax took one and Jessica lit it up with her Zippo lighter. Jax took a puff of his cigarette, inhaled, blew out the smoke and sat back in the chair.
"You and Happy seem to enjoy each other's company."
Jessica smiled at the thought of Happy. She loved how she felt when she was around him.
"Yes we have. I really like him." She said. "You have my cousin's nose wide open."
Now it was Jax's turn to smile. Actually, Brea had his nose wide open.
"She is a special woman."
"Yes she is and it sounds like you know that all too well as hard as you were hitting it last night." Jessica said with a chuckle.
"Oh God!" Jax covered his eyes with embarrassment. "You heard us?" he asked uncovering his eyes looking at Jessica sheepishly.
"Ummmm yes. I'm sure the neighborhood heard you and I was sleeping good to."
"Sorry." Jax said grinning.
"No you're not." Jessica laughed. She looked at Jax intently. "There is something different about you." She said looking him up and down.
"What do you mean?"
Jessica sat back in her seat and took a drag from her cigarette before answering.
"You are in love." She told him. "I can really tell now. I knew you cared for her the moment I met you but now I can see that you are in love with her…..that's good Jax."
Jax took a puff of his cigarette as he thought about how the feeling finally hit him like a ton of bricks last night. He knew deep down that he was falling in love with her but last night there, was no more pushing the feeling back deep inside of him and ignoring it.
"Have you told her yet?" Jessica asked.
"No. I think I need a drink." Jax said as he got up from the table.
"Hell yeah….it's five o'clock somewhere." Jessica said slapping the table.
"Breanna?" Justin called after Brea as she stepped off the elevator to head to the nursing station.
"Hey Dr. Torres." She said with a genuine smile on her face. Justin swiftly walked up to Brea.
"Why didn't you tell me?" he whispered.
"Tell you what?" Brea asked truly not knowing what he was talking about.
"That we are related. You are my half-sister."
Brea stepped back in shock. Did her mom talk to him already and did not tell her!
"Your mom came to see me and told me everything."
"Can we talk about this another time? Maybe you can come over for dinner tonight?"
Justin sighed. He wanted to talk to her now. He had so many questions to ask her.
"That's fine. What time?"
"7. I will text you my address. Bring Idalia." Brea said just before she walked away to start her workday.
Brea sighed as she looked and decided on what steaks she wanted to get for tonight. Why did she say dinner tonight she was way too exhausted to cook and host a dinner. She knew Justin would have many questions so it was best to go ahead and help put his mind at ease. She looked at the steaks and wondered if she could talk Jax into grilling them for her tonight. Shit she needed to call Jax and give him a heads up about tonight.
"Auntie can I get some juice?" Mya asked pointing to a box of Caprisun.
"Sure baby." Brea grabbed Mya's favorite flavor. Brea's phone rung as Jax returned her call from a few minutes earlier.
"Hey I know this is short notice but my brother and his wife are coming over for dinner tonight."
Jax let out a heavy sigh that caused Brea to wince. She knew he would not be happy.
"Why tonight babe?" He asked holding back his irritation.
"Cause mom must have gone to see him and he has questions. I figured it would be better to go ahead and answer them over a dinner. Do you mind grilling some steak?" she asked in her sweetest voice.
"That's fine. You need to get enough for Jessica and Happy. He's at the house with Jessica now."
"Have they been drinking?"
"Most likely." Jax smiled thinking of the shots he and Jessica had earlier that day. Jessica was even more fun and crazy when she was drinking. She would be good for Happy.
"Alright. I will be home shortly. Can you be home about 5?" Brea asked as she noticed an Asian woman standing further down the aisle staring at her and Mya.
"Yeah I will be there. Can you pick up some beer?"
"Yeah sure. I'll see you when I get home." Brea said eyeing the woman.
"Alright."
Brea hung up the phone and the woman walked up to her.
"I'm sorry I just could not help but stare. You have the most beautiful daughter." Tina Lin said as she looked down at her husband's betrayal.
"She's my niece actually but thank you." Brea corrected. She started to move away from the woman as she had an uneasy feeling about her. She couldn't put her finger on it but something was not right about this woman. She hated to group all Asians to one group but she had a feeling this woman had something to do with Lin. God forgive her if she is wrong for assuming that just because the woman was Chinese she was associated with Lin but the way she was staring at them just did not sit well with Brea. She was done shopping and she needed to get Mya out of the store and away from the woman gawking at her.
"Excuse us." Brea said as she pushed her cart past Tina. As Brea turned the corner she looked back and the woman's facial expression confirmed Brea's suspicion. The woman had a look of hurt and anger across her face. She must be Lin's wife. How the hell did she find them? Was she following them? She needed to talk to Jax and Dana to let them know that Mya was being stalked.
"Did you see her?" Jasmine asked her mom when she climbed back into the car.
"Yes. It was not the whore with her. It was her aunt." Tina said starting the car.
"Well give it time. She will lead us to the slut." Jasmine said with a smile as they drove out the parking lot. Tina nodded to the man sitting in a black Mercedes on the way out the parking lot. She had him tailing the little girl. She needed to speak to the woman who broke up her marriage and teach her a lesson or two.
