Brea swiftly walked up to her sister and slapped her across the face.
"You idiot! I give you one night with her and she ends up in the hospital. How could you have let them near her?" Tears of anger spilled down Brea's face. Dana grabbed her cheek and started to cry even harder because of Brea's reaction. How could she have let this happen to her daughter? How could she have been so naïve? Jax grabbed Brea by the arm and pulled her to him.
"Baby calm down." He whispered harshly as he tighten his grip on her arm.
"Mya could have been killed," she countered as she snatched her arm from his tight grip. "Child services are on their way. What am I going to do? I can't lose her."
"You just explain to them what happen. It's not your fault baby." Jax assured her as he hugged her and planted a calming kiss on her forehead. Brea instantly started to feel peaceful in Jax's arms. The doctor had just left from telling them that Mya had an alarming amount of alcohol in her system, they had to put her on IV's of medication, and fluids and she would pull through and will be able to go home tomorrow. Eyeing Jax and Happy in their cut, he reluctantly told them that he had to call Child Services. They would be able to see Mya after Child Services interviewed everyone. Brea was consumed with anger at her sister and if it were not for Jax, she would have beaten her sister to a pulp. Jax was right she should not have let Mya stay with Dana. She was the real idiot, as she should have never given Dana the opportunity to make such a horrific mistake.
"Brea, I'm so sorry," Dana cried in between sobs. "You warned me but I didn't think the little girl would hurt Mya."
"You should not have let them in the house!" Brea snapped as she pulled from Jax's embrace quickly becoming upset again at the sight of her sister. Dana cried she was sorry repeatedly. Brea had no sympathy for her sister.
"Dana did you call Lin?" Jax asked as he gently pushed Brea to the side out of Dana's face. He was afraid Brea was going to knock the shit out of her. It took every ounce of strength he had not to haul back and slap Dana across the waiting room.
"Yes. He is on his way." Dana sniffed trying to control her tears. "Brea you don't think we should call mom and let her know?"
"It's best we keep this to ourselves. Do you want to deal with our aunt?"
Dana shook her head no. Brea was right her aunt would rip them both a new asshole.
Jax went to check on Happy who looked ready to kill.
"I'm going to kill them!" Happy growled his face turning red. Happy was angry with himself for not being at Dana's. He had went to visit his aunt and plan on stopping by to check on her after. He should have went straight to Dana's and his angel would not have been put in harm's way again.
"Calm down Happy. We don't go after women and children. We need to get in touch with Lin and let him handle it on his end." Jax told Happy trying to calm him down.
"Some crazy little bitch tried to kill Mya. She needs to answer for that. I don't care who her father is!" Happy shouted as he paced back and forth in the waiting room. Jax step back at Happy's outburst. Even though Happy was very intimidating he was always calm and collected no matter the situation. Jax has never seen him this upset. He did not blame Happy at all because he loved Mya and Brea and would do anything to protect them. However, he could not just up and kill Henry Lin's wife and child. He needed to give Henry the chance to handle it. If Henry did nothing then the club would take matters into their own hands.
A social worker from Child Services arrived and promptly went to interview Mya. After interviewing Mya, the social worker got Dana's version of what happen.
"How do you know the girl and her mother?"
Dana bit her lip and looked down at her feet before answering the woman.
"They are My'Asia's father's wife and daughter."
The social worker did very little to control her startled reaction. What in the hell? Ms. Wilson thought to herself. There was never a dull moment in her line of work.
"This was done to intentionally hurt My'Asia. Do you know where they are? Charges will need to be brought against them."
"No I don't know where they could be." Dana knew where Henry's wife stayed but she knew Henry would want to handle what happen to Mya himself. Ms. Wilson looked at Brea then Jax and Happy.
"You are?" she asked looking at Brea.
"My name is Breanna. I'm My'Asia's aunt and guardian."
Ms. Wilson brought her gaze back to Jax and Happy and Brea offered her no explanation as to who they were. Taking the hint Ms. Wilson brought her attention back to Dana.
"So Dana you don't have custody of your daughter?"
"No. Breanna has raised her. I had a substance abuse problem but I have been clean for some time now."
Ms. Wilson nodded her head as she made notes on her little notepad.
Henry sprinted off the elevator towards Dana.
"Is she alright?"
"Yes the doctor said she will be fine. This is Ms. Wilson with child services." Dana gestured toward Ms. Wilson.
"Henry?" Ms. Wilson asked as she recognized Henry. Henry looked at Ms. Wilson and recognition flooded his face.
"Sarah?"
"Oh my God it is so good to see you." Sarah smiled as she hugged Henry tight. Her whole face lit up and appeared flush as she gazed at Henry.
"Sarah and I went to college together." Henry explained. Brea looked at them both and then Dana. Brea could tell by Dana's expression that she was thinking what Brea was thinking that there was definitely more to the story.
"Sarah can I talk to you privately for a moment?" Henry asked ushering Sarah to a corner in the waiting room.
Brea, Jax, Happy and Dana watched as Henry and Ms. Wilson held an intense conversation, which ended with Sarah giving Henry her phone number and leaving.
"What happen?" Dana asked Henry when he rejoined them.
"I convinced her to close the case and I told her I would handle it."
"Why did she give you her number?" Dana tried to mask the jealousy that was creeping up inside her.
"She wants updates on Jasmine to make sure she does not do something like this again."
"What are you going to do about her Henry?" Jax asked as he was getting slightly inpatient.
"I'm having a psychiatrist come out to talk to her."
"That's it?!" Happy barked.
"What do you suggest Happy that I torture my flesh and blood?" he snapped sarcastically. "She needs help and I am going to get her the help she needs."
Happy let out an exasperated sigh as he sat down and put his head in his hands.
"Happy she will not go unpunished. I promise you that. This will not happen again. I assure you." Henry told Happy. Happy looked up at Henry with anger in his eyes.
"She could have killed her." Brea said to Henry hoping he understood the enormity of what his daughter did to his other daughter.
"I know and she will answer for that. Can we see Mya now?"
Brea nodded yes and they all went to Mya's room. Brea covered her mouth to stifle a loud gasp as she looked at her niece. She looked so small and fragile in the large hospital bed. Mya looked up at everyone and tried her best to smile.
"Hey baby girl." Brea leaned over and kissed a groggy Mya on her forehead.
"Hi auntie…..Mom I'm sorry I threw up." She said just above a whisper.
"Oh baby it's not your fault." Dana leaned over and hugged her daughter.
"Why would Jasmine want to make me sick?" Mya asked as her eyes started to mist up. Brea heard Happy mutter a string of curse words under his breath. Brea could feel his hurt and anger.
"She won't ever hurt you again sweetie. Some people in this world are just sick and they hurt other people. You will never see her again." Brea smooth down Mya's hair as she tried her best to explain to her why Jasmine did what she did. Explaining it any other way would be too confusing to the child.
"When can I go home?"
"Tomorrow sweetheart. I'm going to spend the night with you." Brea answered. Henry pushed his way through everyone to get next to Mya.
"Hey sweetheart." He kissed her forehead.
"Hey dad." She smiled up to Henry and he felt his heart swell as he gazed down on his sweet little girl. He did not understand why Jasmine would want to hurt her. Mya was innocent in all this.
"I'm sorry this happen to you baby girl…..like your auntie said she will not come near you again." He told her as he tugged at one of her ponytails. Henry looked over at Happy who snorted in disgust. Mya turned her attention to Happy and she smiled the biggest smile for him. She reached out for him and Happy grabbed her little hand and kissed it.
"How are you feeling angel?"
"Ok….my stomach and head doesn't hurt anymore….can you stay with me too?"
"Of course I will."
Henry felt hurt, as Mya did not ask him to stay. He felt she still viewed him as a stranger. He should have been in her life as soon as she was born and he regretted that he was not. He would have to make up for lost time. However now he needed to go deal with his oldest daughter.
"Jax can I speak to you a moment?"
"Yeah."
Jax and Henry stepped outside the room.
"Jax I need your word that Happy will not go after my daughter."
Happy was livid and Jax hoped he could calm him down and keep him from retaliating against Henry's family.
"I will try my best Henry." Jax tried to assure him.
"I need a guarantee Jax. If he goes after my family, I will have to go after the Sons with everything I have."
Jax nodded, as he understood that as fathers they would do whatever was necessary to protect their family.
"I need your guarantee that she will never lay eyes on Mya again. If she comes after her again we will take action."
"You have my word."
"Then you have mine. Happy will not harm your daughter. You need to make sure she does not go answered for what she has done to your youngest. Mya is your daughter too."
"I know Jax."
Dr. Zhou finished his session with Jasmine in Henry's office and found Henry and a distraught Tina in the kitchen. Tina was beside herself as to what Jasmine had done to Mya. Yes, Tina was livid at her husband for having a child with another woman but she would never dream of hurting an innocent child. The mom was a different story though.
"What's wrong with her?" Tina asked. Dr. Zhou sighed as he prepare to tell the Lin's something no parent would want to hear about their child.
"Henry….Tina. Jasmine lacks emotion and does not feel sympathy or empathy for other people. She is a text book psychopath."
Tina gasped.
"Have you not noticed your son constantly getting hurt and having unexplained bruises?"
"I just thought he was clumsy and got injured playing sports." Henry said.
"No. Jasmine has been abusing him. She does not have any emotion toward her brother accept dislike and the feeling that he is a nuisance. As for what happen with Mya, she shows no remorse and expressed the desire for the little girl to die because she wants her out the way. She said she would try again if she gets the opportunity. If the law were involved, she would be charged with juvenile delinquency and put away until she is eighteen. I do suggest institutionalization as there is no cure but we can keep her from harming anyone else and treat her the best we can."
"How did she get this way?" Henry asked trying to understand what this meant for his daughter.
"It could be genetic or environmental. No one really knows why psychopaths become the way they do."
Tina started to cry and Henry pulled her into his arms.
I don't understand she shows emotions. She tells me she loves me all the time." Tina sobbed.
"She has learned to mimic emotions and tells you what you want to hear." Dr. Zhou explained.
"She needs help Tina." Henry told his wife. Tina shook with sobs in Henry's arms.
"I will personally oversee her care. There is an excellent facility thirty minutes from here." Dr. Zhou told the couple once Tina calmed down a little. Henry nodded his head in agreement.
"Will we be able to visit often?" Tina asked grabbing a tissue to wipe her tears.
"Yes you will be able to visit. I will like to take her today and need you both to come to fill out paperwork."
Tina and Henry agreed and braced themselves to tell their daughter that she would be going away for a while. Walking into Henry's office, they found it empty.
"I told her to stay put until you guys came to talk to her." Dr. Zhou told them. Henry noticed one of his desk drawers ajar. His heart sunk to his feet as he opened the drawer and found his gun gone. How did she unlock it? He had the key on him at all times.
"She took a gun." For the first time Henry felt fear toward his daughter. Henry yelled for Tony and the other men he had station at the house and told them to comb the house to find his daughter and then search the neighborhood, as she could not have gone too far on foot. After searching, the house from top to bottom and the neighborhood Jasmine was nowhere to be found.
Henry needed to call Jax to tell him to keep Mya safe.
"You can't leave Mya's side Jax. I don't know where Jasmine could have gone with the gun. My best guess is the hospital. I'm on my way."
Jax slammed his phone shut and cursed under his breath.
"What?" Brea asked sitting up from lying down next to Mya in the hospital bed. Jax looked over at Mya who was fast asleep.
"That little psycho is on the loose with one of Henry's guns." Jax whispered making sure Mya was not disturbed.
Happy jumped up from the seat next to Mya.
"I told you Henry could not handle it. You should have let me take care of it." He hissed.
"Call Chibs, Bobby and Tig. Get them out here we are going to need more eyes." He ordered to Happy. Happy glared at Jax before pulling his cell out his pocket to make the calls.
"You think she is on the way here? Do we need to tell security and call the cops?" Dana asked as terror flooded her face.
"No cops." Jax snapped at her. When Chibs, Bobby and Tig arrived Jax briefed them on what was going on. Tig station himself outside Mya's room while Chibs and Bobby scoped out various entrances of the hospital for a fourteen-year-old Chinese girl. Tina, Henry and Henry's right hand man Tony soon arrived. Tina and Tony stayed in the waiting room while Henry went to see Mya. Jax met Henry outside and asked him what happen.
"She sneaked out of the house. We were going to send her to a psychiatric facility just outside of town but she took off." Henry explained.
"I have some of the guys on the lookout and Brea, Dana and Happy are with her now. No one is getting near her."
"Can I see her?"
"She is asleep right now. I don't think she needs to be disturbed. You need to focus on finding your other daughter before she steps foot in this hospital because when she does I have no guarantee on her safety."
Henry nodded and pulled out his cell to check with the men he had searching for Jasmine for an update.
As day turned into night, there was still no sign of Henry's oldest daughter. Henry sent his wife home and told her he would call her if he heard any new news. Jonesing for a cigarette Dana found Henry pacing the halls. When he noticed Dana he ran up to her, planted a kiss on her lips, and pulled her into a hug.
"I'm so sorry about all this Dana. I had no idea Jasmine would hurt Mya."
Dana nodded as tears started to fill her eyes.
"Henry we need to take a break." She said seriously.
"What? What do you mean a break?"
"I need to focus on Mya and be a good mom. I can't have you and the drama of your family around me. Our daughter could have died."
"Dana…don't. As soon as we find Jasmine I am sending her to an institution and I am divorcing Tina so we can be a family." Henry grabbed Dana's face to bring her closer to his face.
"Henry you need to focus on your family." She told him pulling away.
"You are my family!" he shouted.
"Henry please…." Tears streamed down Dana's face. She loved Henry so much but she loved her daughter more.
"Dana…just let me find Jasmine and get her help and we will talk about this then. You can't leave me. I would be lost without you. Please tell me you will wait before making this decision so we can talk more when everything is calmed down?" Henry pleaded.
Dana shook her head yes and Henry sighed with relief as he pulled her back in his embrace.
"Auntie?" Mya said softly shaking Brea awake beside her. "Get up I get to go home today." Brea sat up and shook the sleep off her. What time was it? She looked at the wall clock and it was seven thirty in the morning.
"How you feeling sweetheart?" Happy asked as he woke up hearing Mya's voice. He stood up from the chair and stretched his sore body. His body was screaming from sleeping in the chair.
"I'm fine. I just want to go home." Mya smiled at Happy. Brea looked around the room and saw Jax asleep on a recliner and Henry and Dana asleep on two cots the nurses brought in. There was a soft knock at the door waking everyone else up. The doctor walked in followed by a tired looking Bobby, Tig and Chibs. Tig stood guard outside the room all night while Bobby and Chibs walked the hospital throughout the night keeping lookout. The doctor did his best to appear not intimated by the men in cuts as he checked Mya's vitals and cleared her for discharge.
"Thank God!" Brea sighed.
"You guys mind waiting outside while we get Mya dress." Dana said as she got up from the uncomfortable cot.
"Sure. Henry still nothing?" Jax asked before planting a kiss on Mya's and Brea's foreheads. Henry pulled out his phone and saw the latest text that said Jasmine was still missing.
"Nothing." Henry mumbled as he stuffed his phone back in his pocket. Where could a fourteen year old be all night?
Dressed in a new outfit from the hospital gift shop that Henry brought Mya, Brea pushed her in a wheelchair and headed out the hospital. Dana was on one side holding Mya's soiled clothes in a bag in one hand and holding her daughter's hand with her other hand. Happy was on the other side of the wheelchair side eyeing anyone who walked by. Henry was behind them all making more phone calls to locate Jasmine. Jax had left to get Brea's car and pulled up to the curb as soon as they exited the hospital.
"You guys good?" Bobby asked as he tried to keep himself from falling out on the curb from sheer exhaustion.
"Yeah we good." Jax answered as he hopped out of the car to help get Mya settled in the back seat. "Thanks guys for helping out." Jax gave Bobby and Chibs a hug.
"No problem Jax….anything for family." Bobby said as he looked at Brea and then Bobby. Even though Jax never confirmed or denied his relationship with Brea to the club, everyone knew they were together. Happy opened the car door and position himself to pick Mya up to put in the car when Dana felt something was wrong. Dana looked up and saw Jasmine heading straight for them with a gun pointed at them. Before she could yell a warning, Jasmine fired and the bullet hit Happy in the shoulder knocking him back. Dana quickly pushed Brea away from the wheelchair and shielded her daughter with her body as a second shot was fired. Jax turned around from Bobby and Chibs when he heard the shots and reached for his gun. Henry's cell phone fell from his hands as he saw Jax, Chibs and Bobby aiming their guns at Jasmine who had her gun aimed at Dana and Mya.
"Jasmine….honey…don't!" he shouted trying to get her attention.
"She needs to die!" Jasmine yelled.
"Henry you better talk her down!" Jax shouted over to Henry.
Happy gritted through his pain, grabbed his gun, stood up, and pointed it at Jasmine.
"Jasmine baby….you don't want to do this. Put the gun down so we can all go home." Henry pleaded as he slowly walked toward his daughter. Jasmine smiled the most evil smile Henry had ever seen and he knew at that moment his daughter was lost.
"Better yet DADDY! How about you die?!" Jasmine aimed the gun at Henry and pulled the trigger. As soon as Jasmine pulled the trigger, Happy fired two shots into Jasmine's head. Everything was as if it was in slow motion as Brea picked herself off the ground where Dana had pushed her. She saw Jax, Bobby and Chibs standing with the look of shock on their faces as their guns were still pointed in the direction where Jasmine once stood. Her body was now on the sidewalk with blood pooling around her head. Happy sighed with relief as he slouched back against the car holding his wound. Brea moved to make sure Mya and Dana were ok.
"Are you guys ok?" she asked helping Dana up from covering Mya.
"I think so….is Mya ok?" Dana asked hoarsely. Brea checked Mya and found a huge bloodstain on her shirt.
"Mya are you hit?" Brea cried out. Mya shook her head no. Brea lifted up her shirt and found no wound. Brea quickly turned around to Dana who was barely standing straight looking down smiling at her daughter holding her stomach.
"Oh my God!" Brea shrieked as she saw blood profusely spilling over Dana's hands onto the ground. Jax dropped his gun, ran and caught Dana just before she fell to the ground.
"Henry's been hit!" Chibs yelled to them as he saw Henry on the ground with blood staining his shirt.
Brea fell to her knees and lifted Dana's shirt. There it was a bullet hole in her stomach.
"Oh my God…..you're going to be alright Dana. Hold on for me." She cried as she put her hand over the wound to put pressure on it. Brea frantically looked around. She saw bystanders gawking as they watched the horrific scene.
"Somebody get a doctor!" Jax yelled to the crowd. A young man snapped out of his trance and ran into the hospital to find help.
"Is Mya ok?" Dana asked again her voice giving out.
"Yes Mya's fine." Brea started to cry.
"I did good didn't I Brea. I protected her. I'm a good mom right?" Dana smiled up at Brea as her eyes grew heavy.
"Yes Dana you are a great mom." Brea answered as she leaned over and kissed her sister's lips. As Brea caressed her sister's face, she felt Dana exhale her last breath.
"No! No! God No!" Brea heard a blood-curdling scream. Jax leaned over Dana and grabbed Brea and she realized the scream was from her as her screams muffled in Jax's shoulder as he held her. Jax held onto Brea tight as she cried for her sister.
