Crash Into Me Chapter 31

Brea held the slug Justin pulled out of Jax in the palm of her hand. Brea could not believe that a little piece of lead could have destroyed her life yet again.

"He's going to be fine Brea." Brea snapped out of her thoughts, and looked up at her brother.

"Thanks Justin." She smiled. Justin reached across the table, grabbed and squeezed her hand.

"Are you going to be ok? The baby ok?"

Brea nodded. "We're fine."

"Doc we can't thank you enough." Chibs thanked as he handed Justin a beer.

"It's no problem." Justin took a big swig of his beer. "I am glad I could help."

"Can I see Jax now?" Mya asked holding a new Hello Kitty doll Happy had brought her while they were out earlier.

"Not now sweetheart he is resting." Brea told her leaning over kissing her forehead. Mya pouted a little as she walked to the living room to sit on Happy's lap. The house was full, as everyone had come to check on Jax. Brea was tired and just wanted everyone to go home but it looked like everyone was pretty comfortable drinking beer and eating dinner that Gemma had cooked.

"Brea honey are you going to eat?" Gemma asked concern.

"I'm not hungry right now." Brea said getting up to go check on Jax. On the way out of the kitchen, she tossed the slug in the trash.

Slowly opening the bedroom door, she found Jax in a drug induced sleep. Brea sat on the bed and gazed at the love of her life. She softly caressed his cheek before leaning over to plant a soft kiss on his lips.

"I love you Jackson." She whispered. Jax slowly opened his eyes and smiled up at Brea.

"I love you too."

"You really scared me today Jax."

"I know baby. I'm sorry. It won't happen again."

"How do you know? Who would do this?"

Jax shook his head.

"Don't worry about that Brea."
"Jax, why don't you trust me enough to tell me about club business?"

"It's not about trust Brea. I am protecting you. The less you know the better." Jax gritted his teeth as a wave of pain hit him. Brea grabbed the pain meds and bottle water off the nightstand and gave Jax two pills. Jax slowly sat up in the bed and took the medicine.

"I don't understand how keeping me in the dark is protecting me." Brea said not letting go of the subject.

Jax sighed with frustration.

"Just trust me Brea. I am protecting you."

Seeing Jax was becoming a little upset Brea let go of the subject for the time being. She would wait until he was better to approach it again.

"Are you hungry? Gemma cooked."

"Yeah a little." He said relieved that she had changed the subject.

"Ok. Is it ok if Mya comes in? She wants to see you." Brea moved from the bed.

"I would like that. Can you send in Abel too?"

Brea nodded as she walked out the room disappointed that Jax would not open up to her.

Few weeks later

"Will you give it a fuckin rest Brea!" Jax shouted at her as he put on his jeans. He just received a call in the middle of the night and had to leave for club business. Brea was fed up and asked him again why he would not tell her what the fuck was going on.

"I will not!" Brea shouted back getting out of bed.

"I swear Brea if you do not let this go." Jax threw on a t-shirt.

"Or what? What are you going to do?" Brea challenged getting up in his face. Jax stepped back, his face becoming red with anger.

"You have been with me for a while now Brea. Why are you so concerned now?" Jax asked trying to calm down.

"You were shot!" Brea yelled.

"Stop yelling." He demanded through gritted teeth. Brea stepped closer to Jax and pushed him with all her strength.

"Fuck you! Don't tell me what to do!" she shouted even louder in pure defiance. Jax thought it best to remove himself from the situation. Brea was acting unreasonable. Jax turned around to walk out the room when Brea grabbed his arm.

"Don't you walk away from me!"

Consumed with anger Jax turned around and pushed Brea away from him causing her to stumble and fall to the ground. Realizing what he did Jax rushed to aid Brea.

"Oh my God! Brea I'm sorry."

"Get away from me!" Brea shouted as tears of anger spilled down her face.

"Brea I am so sorry." Jax tried to help her up but she pushed him away.

"Don't touch me!"

Jax looked on helplessly as Brea slowly got up from the floor. She walked up to Jax and slapped him across the face.

"You fuckin asshole!" Brea was going to hit him again when she felt a pop and felt a trickle of liquid flow down her legs.

"What's wrong?" Jax asked seeing the look of surprise on her face.

"My water just broke."

"The baby is coming?" Jax touched Brea's stomach and she flinched and stepped back.

"Yes. Go wake the kids while I change. We need to get to St. Thomas."

The ride to the hospital was mostly in silence as Brea refused to speak to Jax. The only time she spoke was when she called her mom and Gemma to let them know she was going to the hospital.

"Brea I did not mean to push you like that. You have to forgive me." Jax plead.

"Shut up Jackson." She snapped.

"Breanna you are about to give birth to my child. You can't be angry with me."

"I said shut up Jax!" Brea tried to keep her voice from rising. She did not want to wake up Abel and Mya as they slept in the back seat. Jax shook his head with disgust. He could not believe he had reacted the way he did. What if he had hurt her? He would not be able to live with himself if he did. Brea rubbed her stomach as she began to feel contractions.

"We need to hurry Jax." She grimaced as a contraction hit. Jax stepped on the gas to get to the hospital quicker.

"Can you walk?" Jax asked pulling up to the emergency room exit.

"I'm having a baby. I'm not handicap!" Brea snapped as she opened the car door to get out.

"I'm going to park the car, grab the kids and your bag. I will meet you in there." He told her ignoring her sarcastic attitude. Brea shut the car door, not responding to him and waddled into the hospital.

Brea moaned with pain as her contractions started to become more intense and frequent. Sherry took a cool, wet washcloth and wiped her daughter's forehead.

"Just breathe baby." Gemma instructed as she squeezed Brea's hand. Jax stood off in a corner biting his nails. He was a nervous wreck. He was about to have another son enter the world any minute. He was in pure awe at the miracle of childbirth.

Brea's doctor walked in to check to see how far she had dilated.

"You're fully dilated now Breanna. You can start pushing now." Her doctor told her. Jax rushed over and took Gemma's place by Brea's bed. He grabbed her hand and kissed it.

Brea looked over at Jax and the image of him pushing her flashed in her mind. As a contraction hit, anger swelled in her even more.

"Get out!" she yelled just as she bore down to push.

"What?" Jax asked confusion on his face.

"Get out Jax!"

Gemma rushed up to Brea's bed.

"What's going on?"

"I don't want him in here Gemma."

"Jax what did you do?" Gemma asked.

"Brea don't do this!" Jax begged ignoring his mom. Another contraction hit and Brea bore down to push. She gritted her teeth to hold back a scream. She was in pain. It hurt like hell. Relief washed over her as the contraction passed. Brea looked back over at Jax.

"I don't want to look at you right now Jax. I need you to get the fuck out!"

"If she wants you out Jax you need to leave. She is getting upset and we don't want to add strain to the baby." The doctor told Jax.

"Brea please! This is my child…..you can't kick me out!"

"Get out!" Brea screamed from the top of her lungs causing Jax to step back from the bed. Tears started to form in his eyes.

"Please…." He whispered.

"Jax….go sit in the waiting room with Happy, Jess and the kids. I will come get you as soon as the baby is born." Gemma told him as she ushered him out.

"Mom….I can't leave her." A tear fell down Jax's cheek.

"You are going to have to son. Whatever you did she is pissed and she needs to have a safe birth and you staying in here is a risk to that."

Jax could not believe this was happening. How could Brea deny him the experience of seeing his son enter the world? Defeated Jax looked back at Brea who was in mid push before he walked out the room.
