Season 3 takes place five years after Season 2 Summer, Genevieve and the gang, with heavy hearts made their way to Ian's objective point, finding a rather well-established settlement and Ian's family alive and well, due to the effects of S2 the youngest of the group, Genevieve has been broken by the world around her, yet someone may just be the key to healing for her.
A short recap of S1 and S2: preparing for her high school graduation, Summer is surprised by her brother Blake, after a few hours the siblings are thrust into a new world, filled with undead and crazy people trying to kill them, along the way the siblings find fellow survivors and an orphaned little girl, Genevieve, during their travels to Savannah, GA, the unofficial leader, Blake is killed rescuing Genevieve, Summer decided to head back to Tennessee where they met a lone survivor, willing to take them in, months prior, after their hideout is overrun, the group along with the loner, Amanda, travel north to a friendly settlement, where they lived for the next three years when disaster struck the group fled, north once again, ending up in a town run by a tyrant bent on molding Genevieve into his successor, in the end, Amanda gave her life to defend Genevieve's.
