Crash Into Me 34
Brea instantly recognize Hawkins the security guard from Wal-Mart. She would never forget his face. Brea started to tremble as he placed the gun to her forehead.
"I've been waiting for this day for a long time." Hawkins seethed.
"What the hell is that noise?!" Gemma yelled as she wobbled in the hallway. She stopped short when she saw the situation.
"Who the fuck are you?! Do you know who we are?!" She shouted at him. Hawkins pointed the gun at Gemma.
"Don't make me kill you. I only want this bitch right here." He told Gemma as he pointed the gun back to Brea.
"W…What…do you want?" Brea manage to get out.
Hawkins pressed his gun to Brea's forehead as he got in her face. The alcohol stench from his breath made Brea nauseas.
"You caused me to lose my job and your boyfriend made sure I could not find work anywhere else." He seethed. Brea had no idea Jax had him blackballed.
"I didn't cause you to lose your job!" Brea argued than immediately went silent when she heard the gun cock back.
"You did!" Hawkins said through gritted teeth.
"Take me. You want to get back at Jax take me. I'm his mother." Gemma wobbled closer to Brea and Hawkins.
"Stay where you are!" Hawkins yelled pointing the gun back at Gemma shaking. Brea noticed a movement in the doorway and saw Rat Boy putting his finger to his mouth signaling her to be quiet. Brea averted her eyes back to Hawkins as not to give away her rescue. Hawkins grabbed Brea's arm.
"You are coming with-" Blood and brains splattered on Brea's face after she heard a gunshot. Hawkins eyes looked at her in surprised as his fingers tighten around her arm as he fell to the ground on top of Brea.
"Oh my God!" Brea shrieked! As the heavy body laid on top of her and blood gushing on her face. Rat Boy quickly pushed Hawkins off Brea. Brea was a shivering mess as Rat Boy helped her up. She was soaked in blood from her hair to her shirt.
"Take off those clothes sweetheart, take a bath we will take care of this. I will check on the kids." Gemma instructed Brea in complete calmness. Brea just stood still staring at the body, brain fragments and blood on the floor.
"Brea?"
Brea looked over at Ratboy. "Go get cleaned up. Jax should be here soon." Brea nodded and numbly walked to the bathroom to take a shower. As Brea looked in the mirror, she was disgusted by all the blood she had all over her. She almost threw up when she found brain matter in her hair and on her face. Brea held back tears as she picked the brain matter off her face, out her hair and disregard her clothes on the floor. She watched as the red water swirled down the drain as she showered. She let the warm water cascade down her body as she tried to come to terms with what happen. Brea were tired of crying and being perceived as weak. This was her life. Jax was her man and the father of her child and she loved him dearly. Brea was in this life and she had to protect her family. That was one thing she learned from Gemma. She could not be naïve as to her life anymore. Since Jax finally told her what was going on she needed to make precautions for her and the ones she loved.
Stepping out the bathroom with just a towel she heard voices in the hallway. They were loud and she knew if they continued, they would wake up the kids if they were not already awake with all the commotion. Brea quickly threw on a pair of Jax's lounge pants that he had thrown on the floor and a Sons t-shirt and went into the hallway.
"I can't be a part of this! Giving you medical help is one thing but seeing a dead body someone just killed I can't see this!" Justin told Gemma, Jessica and Ratboy.
"Ok leave the supplies and Jessica will finish wrapping me up. Go home. We got this." Gemma told him. Justin looked over at Brea.
"Brea are you ok?" He walked up to Brea and hugged her tight. She hugged her brother back.
"I'm fine."
"He was here for you?" Brea nodded and kept her tears at bay. She kept telling herself she was strong, and she could handle this. "Do you want to come and stay with me and Ida for a few days?"
"No, I will be fine. Thanks Justin."
Justin nodded as he kissed Brea's forehead and maneuvered his way around the dead body and quickly left the house.
"Any idea when Jax will be back?" Brea asked Ratboy.
"I don't know but I just texted him what happen. If they are not too caught up, they should be here soon. Brea go lay down I will take care of this mess. We will get rid of the body."
Gemma limped to Brea with Jessica's help.
"Yes, honey go lay down. Jessica will help Ratboy until the crew arrives." Gemma told her.
"I can help clean up." Brea suggested.
"NO!" Jessica and Gemma almost shouted in unison. "Go take care of the kids. Jess will finish patching me up and Jax should be home soon." Gemma told Brea. Brea looked at both Gemma and Jessica. Maybe they were right, and she did need to lay down for a minute. She just saw someone's brain splattered all over her.
"Ok." Brea whispered as she went to check on the kids. Christopher was still asleep, but Mya and Abel were up. They were still laying down, but their eyes were open. They both sat up in the bed when Brea entered the room.
"Auntie was that a gunshot?" Mya asked rubbing her eyes.
What was she going to tell her little niece she has been through so much already? Brea took a few moments before answering.
"Yes, baby girl it was. Ratboy shot a bad man that came into the house. He was protecting us."
Mya shook her head in acknowledgement. She was so smart and had to grow up a little fast after being kidnap and losing her mother. Brea and the kids stayed in the room until Gemma or Jessica would tell them it was ok to come out. Brea figured it would be awhile. She heard the noise of them cleaning and moving the body.
Brea wanted to jump for joy when she heard the sound of motorcycles pulling up. She heard the loud commotion when Jax and the guys saw what happen. Brea's door flung open with a worried looking Jax rushing to her side. He knelt down on his knees to level with her sitting on the bed.
"Are you and the kids ok?" Jax was full of concern but Brea could feel the anger radiating off of him.
"Yes. We are ok. It was the security guard from the Wal-Mart incident."
"That fuckin racist asshole!"
"Jax…language." Brea looked back at Mya and Abel who were looking directly at them. "Let's go in your room. Mya, Abel stay in here until we tell you to come out." They both nodded as Brea grabbed the baby monitor and followed Jax to his room. In the hallway they notice Happy, Chibs rolling the body up in tarp. Jessica was on her knees cleaning up. Gemma was on the sofa with her leg up barking orders.
Jax took off his cut and gloves and threw them on the bed before he pulled Brea in his embrace.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I can't believe he had the nerve to come to our home."
Brea buried her neck into Jax's.
"Did you get all the Revolutionist?" Brea asked before she softly kissed his neck. Jax pulled away with anger in his eyes.
"No. There was only a few at the shack they call a club house. We will have to find the others. The kids didn't see anything did they?"
"No but Mya and Abel heard the gun shot."
"Dammit! Looks like that security guard was one of them by his cut. I think its going to get worse before it gets better. Do you think you can stay with your mom a few days?"
Brea frowned.
"No. I'm not going anywhere. Just leave two guys this time if you go anywhere. Ratboy did good. I think the guy just knocked him out. Thank God he didn't kill him."
Jax nodded his head in agreement.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Jax lifted up Brea's chin to look in her eyes. She said she was fine but Jax searched her eyes anyway. "You not thinking of leaving me are you?"
"Jax I just said I would stay, and I mean it. I'm not going anywhere."
"I know this is a lot."
"Jax I'm fine." Now it was Brea's turn to reassure him as she pulled him back into a hug.
"I promise this will be over soon. It's going to be busy for the next few days until we find them. Other charters are coming down to help."
"Ok." Brea softly kissed Jax's lips. "We will be fine. We have too."
Brea heard the whimpers of her son and knew he was up and ready for a feeding. When Brea walked into the hallway. Several guys were lifting the body to load in a van that was parked up on the lawn in front of the door. The hall smelled of Fabuloso and bleach. Jessica had done a superb job. Brea figured she was used to it. After feeding Christopher Jessica stuck her head in and told Brea it was ok to come out the room. She sighed with relief. Mya and Abel jumped out of the bed and headed for the kitchen. They were hungry. Brea carried Christopher in her arms as she entered the living room full of the Sons trying to figure out their next step. Gemma and Nero was on the couch weighing in on their options. Brea put Christopher in his baby seat and carried him in the kitchen. She moved the pot of noodles from the stove as the water was low and the noodles were starting to burn. Brea looked in the fridge for an alternative for dinner and fixed the kids something to eat.
"You alright?"
Brea looked up from the stove to find Jessica sitting down at the table with the kids.
"I'm fine." Brea really wished everyone would stop asking her that. "I know you are used to seeing stuff like that huh?"
Jessica shrugged her shoulders not answering. "This is your life now if you plan on staying with Jax. Can you handle that cuz?"
"I can handle it." Brea said with as much firmness as she could muster. Brea wish she could have a drink or take something to calm her nerves. She exudes calmness now, but her brain was running a million miles a minute.
"Are you thinking of Mya and Christopher?"
Brea turned to look at her cousin.
"Yes! I always think about them. Jax will always take care of us. Happy would kill for Mya. I see no safer place to be."
Jessica nodded her head. "You are right about Jax and Happy. They would die before they let anything happen to you. Well cuz this is your life. Guess you never thought it would be like this."
"Honestly, I did not, but I love Jax. Christopher needs his father."
Jax walked into the kitchen kissing Christopher, Abel and Mya on their foreheads.
"We are going to regroup tomorrow when the other charters get here." He told Jess and Brea. Brea waved to the guys that said their goodbyes. Happy made a point to kiss Mya before him and Jess left.
"I'm going to take a shower." Jax told Brea after kissing her forehead as well. "Don't worry about anything. The body is taken care."
"I'm not worried." Brea lied. She was a little worried, but she will be sticking with her man. They have been through a lot together and this was just something she will have to get used to being his old lady.
After the kids ate, they were to hype for bed as they just woke up. Gemma and Nero had left so Brea let them sit up in the living room and watch Netflix Kids while she held Christopher in the love seat.
Jax walked out in just boxers, his hair wet from his shower.
"I left you a plate in the microwave."
"Thanks babe." Jax heated up the plate and sat in the living room with Brea and the kids as he ate. Brea laid her head back as Christopher had dozed off.
"I love you Brea."
Brea turned her head to an exhausting looking Jax.
"I love you too." Brea closed her eyes and prayed love would be enough yet again.
