Just wants to write how Lumine is feeling after being separated from Aether. That way her interaction with Ei during their second meeting would be more interesting.

This world is full of unsolved mysteries.

That's what Lumine repeatedly told herself.

Lumine came into this world alongside her twin brother, Aether, in search for a new home, after failing to find a suitable one during their travels across multiple different worlds before.

Not even a day after her arrival, Lumine already transfixed by the sight that this world has to offer.

Tevyat was something that the twins have never seen before. It was filled with life, from various different kinds of species, be it fauna or flora.

Immortal beings are something beyond extraordinary to exist within a world, even back in their home world, immortals such as the twins are something rare within their races. But Tevyat was different, not only hundreds, but thousands of divine beings are used to roamed the land of Tevyat many millennia ago, if only if it wasn't because of the Archon War which reduced their numbers into mere seven, Tevyat would've continued to be a land raged with chaos as the gods battled against each other.

But now that most of them are gone, the humans replaced them as the the prominent being. Apparently, the seven surviving Archons then established their own nations in various locations in Tevyat which consisted of the humans who put their faith in them before and after the Archon War.

As twins, Lumine and Aether usually have the same interest in things during their travels across multiple worlds. But in moments like this, their interest are divided, which is a rare occurrence to happen. Aether is more interested in places with extreme environments such as the land of always winter, Snezhnaya.

Lumine in the other hand are more interested in places with beautiful scenery and interesting landscapes, or a society with unique cultures such as the nation of Inazuma where such things are rumoured to exist there.

And that was when they decided to part ways. With Aether headed to the snowy nation in order to meet the well-known goddess of love, Tsaritsa from Snezhnaya, while Lumine went to Inazuma to see all the things the nation of transience has to offer, and also subsequently befriended the Raiden Shogun along with her sister and friends themselves.

It was everything that the twins hoped for, an ideal world perfect for their new home. They have human races that they could interacted with, they have multiple places with different environments and cultures. And now they have fellow divine beings whom they successfully befriended with.

It was all felt like a paradise for the twins until they witnessed what happened today.

The world that they thought was full beauty with an everlasting where the peole lived with their respective gods in harmony, turns out to be nothing but a facade.

Lumine realized just how wrong she was to think of such thing when she saw the truth right in front of her eyes.

The sky was red as blood, as if the world itself is bleeding. Buildings are on fire, with the people trapped inside burned to death as the fires cunsumed their bodies until they turned into ashes. People are screaming as they frantically running in a futile attempt to avoid their ultimate destruction. Some of the people fell into their knees and got into all four as they beg for mercy to their incoming assailant.

Meteorites raining down from the sky to destroy the entire civilization down to the ground. Thunderbolts continuously strikes the ground to finish off those who unlucky enough to be in the area. Waves of burning hot flames washed over the nation to burn down all the remaining living beings. And dozens of tornadoes whirling around the cities destroying everything on it's paths.

Lumine is panting heavily as Aether continue to hold her hand and never let go as they run as fast as they could, away from all the chaos rampaging behind them. Aether's face are twisted into an expression that even Lumine never thought her twins are capable of making.

Wrath, utter disgust, disappointment, Revenge.

There is not a single sadness are visible on Aether's face, a complete contrast to what Lumine was currently feeling in her heart right now.

Just what kinds of things did he saw? What kinds of things did he learn when they were apart from each other? Why did he never tell her? No matter how many times she ask him?

"You should've never befriended that woman, Lumine." Aether told her with a serious, cold, and emotionless voice that even surprised her.

Is it really wrong for her to befriend her? Did she made a mistake for ever taking a pity on someone like that? Someone that she just met for a couple of days, and yet they already acted like a long time friend.

The twins continue to run until they arrived at the same exact spot where the two first arrived in this world.

Aether told her that Tevyat, despite it's beauty, is like a wolf in a lamb's clothing, everything they just saw is a lie. Even the everlasting peace is also nothing more but mask to hide the truth that it was born from bloodshed to begin with.

The gods never cared for their people, they merely saw them as tools to empower themselves with faith and devotion. Everything is just a big giant mess that the twins should've stayed away from, and coming to Tevyat is the biggest mistake that they ever made.

And that mistake would cost them a lot.

As the two are about to leave, an unknown god suddenly appeared from a portal. Her long white as cotton hair fluttering behind her as the winds blows through them, her skin tight white suit that covered her from toe to chest bear the markings and symbols that belongs to Celestia, two crimson glowing capes attached to the hip of her suit, swinging back and forth as the god just floats there for the next several seconds, staring down at the two with emotionless cold-hearted amber colored glowing eyes.

"Outlanders, your journey ends here." The god declared with a cold voice that send chills running down Lumine's spine, the portal behind her disappeared and replaced by what it seems to be a stack of thousands little dark cubes with glowing red trims.

Even by simply looking at her, Lumine's instinct already tells her that the immortal being in front of her are different from any other god that she ever met in the past.

The aura that surrounded the god reeks of power, but something tells her that it was not a divine power that Lumine used to see from any other gods. It was power born from dominance, from greed, from bloodshed. It's so stink that Lumine wants to curl her nose in disgust, but there is no time for that.

Trying to escape from this god seemed impossible, even if the twins tried to use their power to leave Tevyat, it still needs some preparation that would take some time, long enough for their opponent to kill them.

They have no choice but to face her. With her hand ready to materialized her sword Lumine asked god. "Who're you?"

It was quick, but Lumine saw it, the god throw her a quick glance to acknowledge her existence, but the lack of emotions behind her gaze hinted that she doesn't even care that Lumine was there. Instead, the god's gaze fell into her older brother, and Lumine saw hidden intensity her eyes holds.

"The sustainer of heavenly principles. The arrogation of mankind ends now." The god answered her question, but her answer only leaves Lumine with even more questions added to her already stacking pile.

Besides her, Aether growled in anger suddenly, before without warning materialized his wings and take off into the air and fly towards the god.

"Aether! Wait!" Lumine could feel the ground beneath her start shaking and was covered by the familiar red glow.

She jumped out of the way just in time before a dark cube appeared on top of the ground and would likely swallowed her if it wasn't for her quick thinking and reflexes.

Summoning her wings as well, Lumine quickly followed after her brother. The god pointed her hands towards them, and the dark cubes behind her was lunge forward towards the twins, like a tentacles of an octopus trying to catch it's prey.

Lumine saw in the corner of her eyes that Aether coated his sword with divine energy before speeding up the speed of his flight towards the god. Lumine decided to do the same thing, doing a summersault on the air to avoid being caught by the dark cubes before heading directly into the god herself.

In the usual sibling style when they fought side by side, Aether attacked from the right, while Lumine attacked from the left. The divine energy that coated both of their swords exploded upon making contact with their target.

But when the smoke gradually cleared however, Lumine widened her eyes in surprise upon seeing what was in front of her.

Their swords did not hit their target like they originally thought, the god blocked their attacks by using some sort of an invincible shield that left her completely unscatched from their relatively strong attacks.

Lumine's mind screamed at her to back away, to create some distance from this imposing figure she's facing with. But her body refused to move for some reason. Her initial shock had clouded Lumine's brain that she just realized something a bit too late. It's not her body that refused to move, it was her sword who got stuck in place and cannot be removed.

Lumine wanted to warn Aether, to tell him to release his grip from the sword before something bad happen. But when the unknown god suddenly turned her head to look at Lumine with that same uncaring and cold gaze, Lumine's words die in her throat.

With a pulse, dark cubes came out from the god's hand and swallowed up her sword. With fast reflex, Lumine did exactly what her mind told her to before, she let go of her sword before the dark cubes can touch her hand and backed away, creating some distance between her and the unknown god.

However, the same thing did not happened with Aether. The dark cubes from the god's hand swallowed both his sword and Aether's arms, Aether jerked in surprise after getting caught by the god, but the dark cubes prevent him from making many movements.

Lumine's eyes blown wide open, her heart rapidly pounding in her chest as if it was about to explode, all air leave her lungs after the blonde girl saw her dear older brother slowly getting swallowed up by the dark cubes, with all the remaining voice she can muster, Lumine screamed with voice loud enough to reach heaven.

"AETHER!"

Her other twin did not say anything but gave Lumine a quick glance, Aether's face are formed into an expression that she could not describe, at first, Lumine thought she saw fear or sadness on her brother's face. But once her eyes landed on his lips where it was quirked up into the tiniest of all smile however, she knew that there was clearly something that Aether was hiding from her the entire time.

Aether's body has fully gone from Lumine's vision now, the dark cubes that consumed her body start to shrink until it was only the size of the god's palm.

Lumine couldn't do anything but to just float there and watched the unknown god take the golden cube her brother had been turn into to her hand, eyeing it with that unchanging gaze again, before dematerializing it into thin air.

Lumine flinched when the god turned around to look at her now. Their eyes met with each other, amber meets with gold. The two continued to stare with each other for the next five seconds.

And before Lumine knew it...

Everything went black.

Pain.

Pain was the first feeling that the blonde girl in white dress felt when she woke up.

Or to be more accurate, it was when she was able to think and feel again.

Her eyes are barely open and she had a look of pure pain on her face, despite of her blurry vision, the girl manage see her surroundings, she was surrounded by murky dark field with her body is laying on top of something akin to a vast pitch black ocean.

The blonde felt cold, there was no sun shining in the sky, or any stars and moon that illuminates the this place. Wherever she was right now are devoid of any kind of warmth, the definition of pure emptiness, she couldn't even feel her own body temperature.

"Where am I? What is this place?" The girl managed to croak out, her voice are hoarse, both her throat and lips are dry as if she's just swallowed up a dessert.

No answers, both from anyone in particular, or from her own mind or memory.

"So... Tired..." With a dull and blank eyes she took a breath as she sank deeper into the darkness.

The girl was sinking, sinking into the sea of darkness, into the sea of sadness and despair. No matter how many times she tried to move her body, her muscles refused to move, as if her brain was no longer connected to her nerve systems.

Everything is blank, including her own mind. Her eyes loses the light that she used to always have, leaving behind a soulless husk that just like her heart right now.

"Am I dead? Is this how death feels like?" The blonde girl mentally asked herself since her mouth are no longer able to utter any kinds of words again.

"It's... not too bad huh..." With those last words, the girl slowly closed her eyes and let herself get taken away by the unforgiving murky ocean of darkness that surrounded her.

Silence enveloped her surroundings, and just when the blonde think she's really going to die, a mysterious voice called out to her.

Lumine.

The voice sounded so distant and hazzy, but it's enough for the girl to crack her eyes open, even if just a little.

She looked around her to find the source of the sound, but she couldn't find anything or anyone that called that name.

"Who is that?" The blonde girl weakly asked, half-heartedly expecting the same voice to answer her.

It's you! Don't you remember anything?

Now that the voice clearer and not so distant anymore, the girl realized that it was her own consciousness that was talking to her.

"Lumine... Is that my name?" She asked again, and the voice hummed in confirmation.

Think Lumine, Think. Try to remember who you are. There's Someone who needs you!

Doing what the voices told her to do, the blonde girl closed her eyes and consentrate on digging her mind. As she does that, multiple memories simultaneously began to flashed inside her mind, and all of her questions are gradually answered as her memories became whole again.

Who am I?

She was the star-born Traveler, Lumine. From another world far far away.

Why am I here?

She was looking for a new home to live in. Her home world are barely inhabitable anymore due to some unknown accident a long time ago, her family are all dead, she was all alone now, and that's why she have to finish what she came here for.

How did I ended up like this?

A god... An unknown god attacked her, Lumine was about to leave this world due to... unknown reasons... And that god suddenly appeared and...

Did I always alone?

No... No that's not right, Lumine wasn't alone. She came here with... Someone, someone who is very dear to her, someone who had always been there for her ever since birth. Someone who was none other than her own twin older brother.

"Aether..."

Lumine's eyes slowly opened as a ghostly image of a young boy with long braided hair similar in colour with her own, a dark clothes with white scarf that contrast her white dress, and with the same golden eyes as Lumine appeared in front of her.

The image of her dear brother are staring back at her, his face are twisted into a sad and disappointed expression that made Lumine's heart ache as she continued to stare at her other half.

"Aether... Where are you? Please, tell me Where can I find you..."

Lumine whispered silently into her brother's ghostly apparition, she felt that she wanted to cry, to Scream out loud in frustration. But there is no tears coming out from her eyes, or voices coming out from her throne.

"You are late, Lumine." The image of Aether in front of her spoke up, causing her to twitched her body.

Aether's ghostly form began to disappear, Lumine groaned, trying with all her might to move her body again to no avail.

"Wait! Don't go! Aether, come back! Aether!" Finally, Lumine was able to move her arm. Lumine's hand reached up towards her brother's image, but her palm touched nothing, nothing but thin air.

Lumine's eyes stared into her hand, hand that she used to hold her brother's with. Bawling it into fist, Lumine harden her resolve now that most of her memories are recovered.

Aether is still here, he's still in this world, he's waiting for her, waiting for her to find her, waiting for them to be reunited again, she's sure of it.

A tiny bright light suddenly appeared in the distance, illuminating the path for Lumine. She can move her body now, she may lose all of her divine powers, but her determination to find her missing half are more than enough for Lumine to stand firm and face against anything that stood in her way to be reunited with her dear brother again.

Unfolding her non existent wings, Lumine swam up out of the dark ocean that is her subconsciousness, and bask in the glory rays of sunshine in the outside world.

Aether will be her one and only goal to explore Tevyat now. Surely there's nothing more important than that, right?

Ever since she laid her eyes upon the blonde girl, the little pixie knows her life has changed.

With her short blonde hair forming a halo around her head, a girl laid sprawled lifelessly on the grassy ground. The white dress on her body doesn't seem belonged to any other nation she knows, and despite of her closed eyes, the girl's face does not look like she came from any nation or even Tevyat as a whole.

She was like an angel, a dead angel fell from the heaven and into this world.

There were no movements whatsoever, no breathing, no chest movements, and no response no matter how many times the little pixie whispered or shouted to her ears.

The tiny being stayed still, just floating in the air as she continued staring down at the girl who are three times bigger than her.

This isn't what she imagined her day would be, the little pixie was hungry and thirsty, that's the sole reason why she goes to these woods in the first place, in search of any kinds of foods like berries or apples in the trees, not some potentially dead girl laying on top of a flower beds looking majestic even when she could be nothing more but a mere lifeless body.

She knew that staying around here doing nothing but to stare down at the girl would just wasting her time, she should've leave and continue her search for food before she starve to death, to forget what she just saw and continue her daily activity like she usually do.

But she couldn't, because she felt wrong. She felt wrong to leave this girl's side, to leave her body alone in this woods. A wild animal could befall her, a passing group of Hilichurls could kidnap her to use her for their sacrificial offering, or doing other Archon knows kinds of thing to her.

"What was Paimon thinking..."

Whispering in confusion to herself. The little pixie float towards the blonde girl's feet, circling her tiny arms around the white and gold boots of the girl and tightly grasp it with her hands.

Readying herself, the little pixie floats up, before starting to pull the blonde girl with all of her might, with the intention of bringing the girl's body into her makeshift home near the cliffside of a beach not too far from here.

"Who are you?"

The little pixie snapped her eyes open before looking up, her black eyes met with a pair of dark golden eyes, which belonged to none other than the blonde girl who is now suddenly awake with her body in a sitting position, and her golden eyes eyeing the little pixie with both confusion and caution.

Not even a second later, a loud shriek of shock and fear escaped from the pixie's mouth, and the tiny creature wasted no time to go hiding behind a bush from the shocking and slightly horrifying scene that she just witnessed from up close.

"You're alive?!" The tiny being shrieked, poking her little head out of the bush to see the girl was staring directly towards her. "Paimon thought you were dead!"

The creature watched as the blonde girl looked down at her hands and flexed her stiff fingers, making a bone cracking sounds loud enough that the little pixie could hear it from this distance. The blonde girl's hands are covered in dirt and so does her white dress, and now that the pixie looked at it a little bit closer, the girl's dress also have several spots stained with red that she guessed might be dry blood.

Was that girl just taking a nap? Or was she unconscious? had she hurt herself?

"I was hibernating..." The blonde girl muttered, loud enough for the pixie to hear it, her voice is hoarse and a bit husky, something that the tiny creature think doesn't fit the girl's image at all.

"Hibernating? But Paimon thought only animals could do that, not humans."

"It's because I am not human." The blonde girl stated, standing up from the ground and dusted off her dress as much as possible, she should wash it if she have the time.

"Where are you going?" The little pixie asked with slight curiosity in her voice as she watched the girl start walking towards no particular direction.

The girl stopped in her tracks, her body freezed, as if the question had shook her entire being. It took a total of ten seconds before the girl blinked and looked down towards her feet.

"I... Have to find someone... Someone who... Is very dear to me." The blonde answered, her voice are monotone as if even she forget why she was here in the first place.

"Someone... Dear? Who?"

"...My older brother..." She answered.

Before the little pixie could ask more, there was a growling sound ringing in the air, and both of them quickly put their guard up, ready to face whatever creature who made that growl. The growling sounds appeared again, and that's when little pixie realized that it was actually coming out from her own empty belly, even the blonde girl also this, and her eyes immediately directed towards the tiny creature.

"Whoops, sorry." The little pixie chuckled as she rubbed the back of her head. "Paimon forgot that she's hungry."

From all the action that the girl do so far, the pixie initially thought that the blonde would probably just brushed off the statement and just leave the tiny creature alone with her fate. But to think that the girl would actually go as far as collecting various herbs in woods before heading to the beach to gather as many crabs as possible just to cook something for the pixie to eat, is beyond her expectations.

"Ooh~ It's so good! Paimon never thought you'd be such a talented cook." The little pixie said, cheerfully dancing around in the air in delight.

The blonde girl did not said anything but to give a simple nod towards the tiny being.

"Are you not going to eat?" She asked, eyeing the girl with a concerned look.

"I'm not hungry." The girl shook her head.

Now that looked at the blonde a little bit closer, the little pixie saw the unhealthy condition the girl was in. She looked so skinny, with her skin sticking to her cheekbones and several wrinkles adorned her should've been CV chubby face.

"You doesn't look so good to Paimon though, are you sure you're okay?" The tiny being asked with her voice full of worry.

"I'm fine." The blonde simply said, still with that same hoarse and husky voice.

The pixie was about to say something, protest against the girl statement, but as she saw the dull and almost lifeless eyes of her new friend, she decided against it. Instead, she choose to use a more warm approach.

"Paimon's name is Paimon by the way." The little pixie said, floating to the front of the girl's face. "What's yours?"

It's happening again, the girl froze in place, her eyes becoming unfocused, her body is still like a statue, even her breathing stopped for a second.

It continues for about ten seconds before the girl's eyes drifted towards her companion's, and her lips finally parted.

"It's Lumine..." She answered, her voice surprisingly changed it's tone into a more melancholy tone.

Paimon put her tiny hands on her hips as she stare at Lumine in wonder. "That took you a while, it was as if you don't remember your own name." She whispered softly, just what kinds of things did Lumine saw that leave her to be this broken, if that was even a suitable word to describe her current state right now.

"...I'm sorry..." Lumine whispered, catching Paimon off guard again with the unexpected response.

"What are you apologizing for?" Paimon asked again, watching as Lumine slumped her shoulders and dropped her head down, softly shaking it.

Paimon did not say anything, opting to sit beside the sulking girl before resting her tiny head against Lumine's side, finding solace in the ensuing silence.

Ever since then, Paimon would wordlessly follow Lumine wherever the bigger girl goes, acting as her companion and also comfort buddy whenever the little pixie felt the blonde needs it. It wasn't long until they finally start to trust each other, enough for Lumine to tell Paimon her tragic past before getting awoken in the middle of a forest surrounded by flowers.

"So... What are you trying to say is you fell here from another world?" Paimon asked, watching Lumine who was sitting on top of a rock nodding her head.

"You witnessed the destruction of the nation Khaenri'ah, so you and your brother decided to leave this world behind. But when you're just about to leave, your path was blocked by some unknown god, who took both your brother and your former powers away, before sending you off to sleep until you woke up days ago?"

"How many years ago was it? I don't know." Lumine sighed while shaking her head, before bawling her hand into fist. "But intend to find out."

Staring into the vast ocean in front of her, Lumine sighed again as she closed her eyes. "Aether is my everything. Finding him would be my one and only goal, no matter if I must break all the bones in my body, or even losing my humanity in the process, as long as I successfully found my big brother, I will not rest until we will be reunited again."

Paimon always believed that she was not a fan of pity, but Lumine's existence might be a prove that she was wrong. She couldn't describe exactly what she was feeling right now. But just being around Lumine just awakens something inside her tiny heart.

It was desire, desire to always be with her, to be able to make her smile, to make her happy, to protect her from all harm even if it's sounds impossible judging from her tiny size compared to her friend. She couldn't shake off all of these feelings, so she gladly accepted it, and said to her.

"In that case, let Paimon be your guide then." The little pixie said with a smile, putting her tiny hands on her sides.

The blonde girls eyes are visibly widened upon hearing the word. Her head slowly turned to look at Paimon and her eyes give the tiny being an odd look that makes Paimon mentally shuddered in confusion and fear at the meaning behind the odd look Lumine gave her.

"A... Guide?" Lumine asked, her voice sounded hesitant and a bit monotonous, as if she was confused at the word.

"Yeah!" Paimon nodded her head eagerly. "You said you haven't stayed in Tevyat for long, right? Paimon had lived here for quite some time now, so let Paimon be the one who guide you throughout these lands."

Lumine went silent, her eyes still focused solely on Paimon. For some reason she felt like she had seen these scenarios before, she was alone without Aether, and... There's people who surrounded her... Laughter filled the air as the people joking around with each other, but the longer Lumine tried to remember, the more worse her headache get.

"Hey! What's the matter? You don't want Paimon to be your guide?"

"No, it's just... My head hurts."

Several months have passed ever since Lumine started her journey to find her missing kin. After meeting new friends, building reputation in both the nation of freedom Mondstadt and the nation of contracts Liyue. Lumine finally found the one she was looking for, her dear brother was standing there, looking at her with a sad but determined expression that she feel somewhat familiar, but she could not remember exactly where she saw it first.

"Aether... I finally found you." Lumine muttered, putting her hand on her chest. She was happy to be able to see her brother again, to see his hair and eyes that matched with her own.

But inside, she was terribly confused. Aether was standing in front of that monster known as an Abyss Herald, one of the many creatures from the Abyss Order that has the intention of ending all life in this world, be it the humans or the Archons.

"W-Wait, Lumine... He just blocked an attack against the Abyss Herald." Paimon who floated besides her gives her a somewhat saddening look. "Your brother, and the Abyss..."

What Paimon said was right, from the possition of where he was standing, with his body covering the herald from view, it was as if he was defending the monsters, monsters that Lumine had swore to destroy along with all it's kind.

Why? Why would Aether do that? Why did he just Standing there and keep giving her an intense glare instead of running towards her and give her a hug after so many years apart?

Was all of this are fake? Did her mind played tricks on her? Was she dreaming? Is this all just a nightmare that she couldn't awake from?

"Lumine..." Aether in the distance gently called out his little sister's name.

His voice... It's exactly the same voice that Lumine used to hear, a soft voice that sounds like honey whenever he called out her name. Any doubts are gone from Lumine's mind. The boy standing several meters away from her without a doubt are Aether, her brother, her older twin, the other half of her soul.

"Lumine, why are you with Dain?" Her brother asked out of nowhere, the way he addressed the other man present inside the room aside from the twins are shocking to Lumine.

"...What?" Lumine asked, her voice losing all of it's usual sounds and only appeared as a silent whisper.

"Your brother... Knows Dain?" Paimon is also shocked, looking at Lumine in worry.

"Aether. We meet again." The aforementioned man, Dainsleif, Lumine's recent companion who had helped her tracking down the Abyss Herald said, his voice are filled with well hidden sadness and regret that Lumine cannot decipher.

"W-What's going on here? Dain knew him, too?"

"You shouldn't team up with this man, Lumine." Aether's voice rang throughout the massive room, his voice are filled with what Lumine feel to be intense hatred, with his next sentence just confirms that. "He is my enemy."

"Aether..." Dain is acting out of his usual stoic and cold character right now, he sounded so broken, which reminded Lumine with herself not long after she woke up.

"Aether..." Lumine started into her older twins' eyes. She could feel tears began forming in the corners of her own. "What's going on here? Please, tell me."

Aether heavily sighed as she watch the hurtful expression on her sister's face. He couldn't help himself but to let his expression getting softened as well, even for just a little bit.

"Lumine, don't try to stop me. Don't try to stop the Abyss." The boy said, trying hard to keep his expression unchanged as he talked to his sister.

Aether then turned his head to look at Dain, and the second he does that, his expression quickly changed from warm into full of disappointment and bitterness. "That man, Dainsleif, was the "Twilight Sword." one of the royal guards of the final dynasty of Khaenri'ah. 500 years ago, he failed to prevent the destruction of Khaenri'ah."

"A curse of immortality was laid upon him, to forever wander the wilderness... While he watched the people he was supposed to protect turn into the monsters of the Abyss."

"You're saying... Dain is from Khaenri'ah?! The same Khaenri'ah that was destroyed 500 years ago?" Paimon who is still besides Lumine said in shock. "And you said people turning into monsters... So the Abyss Order is not only related to Khaenri'ah but is actually the people of Khaenri'ah themselves?!"

Lumine couldn't stand this anymore. Her headache is getting worse the more she spent her time in this place, it feels like so many memories that she couldn't remember are trying to force their way through her brain.

"Come with me, Aether. Let's go home." Lumine said, with eyes full of tears, and a tiny smile on her face, she extend her hand.

"Home..." Aether's eyes drifted towards Lumine's extended hand. "Yes, of course. Home is wherever we are together." He nodded, but his face are turning into a sad expression.

"But I cannot go with you to the next world to find a new home... At least, not yet." He shook his head, and Lumine could feel her heart broke. "Until the Abyss has engulfed the thrones, my war with destiny will see no end..."

"Destiny?" Lumine asked, with a broken voice.

"Listen to me, my dear sister." Aether look at Lumine directly into her eyes.

"I have already traveled this world once. Once you reach the end of your journey as I did, you will see for yourself the true nature of this world."

The Herald behind Aether summoned it's portal again, and without even being told, Lumine knows exactly what was going to happen.

"So we'll meet again. Though we need not rush, sister. I have more than enough time to wait for you."

Aether turned around and walked towards the portal, and Lumine wasted no time to run towards her big brother, but her strength are fading, her legs felt weak, and her vision is blurry from all the years she shed.

"We have always... Had enough time."

That was the last words Aether said before the portal closed. Lumine couldn't even make there in time, her hands only grasp thin air as she stumbled, falling into the floor with a loud thud.

She failed.
