I apologize if it's been too long since I've last uploaded! I've been busy writing my other fanfiction, and I've forgotten about this one. So, to make up for it, I've managed to write a new chapter for you guys! Please enjoy the read!
Back at Urchin's cave, The Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp were still trying to figure out what to write for the ransom note, and they weren't getting anywhere.
"How about this?" suggested Da Shrimp. "To who it may concern..."
"Come on; it's the king, you barnacle brain!" The Lobster Mobster interrupted. "I say we get tough! Like this: "King! We got your daughter, see, so pay up!"
"Well, it could be more informative," Da Shrimp suggested again. "Like, uh, "Dear Kingy-wingy, guess what we got? Besides poor grammar and bad spelling, that is."
The Lobster Mobster then bonked Da Shrimp on the head using his hat. "No, Kingy-wingy, see? We're tough guys, see? We don't kingy-wingy, see?"
Just then, the two heard an unfamiliar voice.
"Hey, youse guys! Over here!"
The Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp looked up, and just a few feet away, they saw a crab that they had never seen before. A red crab, wearing a blue seashell hat just like them. Ariel and Flounder peered out through the cracks of the boulder and recognized the crab immediately. It was, of course, Sebastian, neither the Lobster Mobster nor Da Shrimp knew this yet.
"Listen up and listen good, see?" Sebastian barked as he walked over to the two trying to be tough. "I hear you got a kipper going, and I want a cut in on it, see?"
"First of all, it's "caper," pal," The Lobster Mobster scowled. "Secondly, I do the seeing in this part of the sea, see? 'Cause this surf is my turf, see?"
The Lobster Mobster then scooped up some sand in his claws and dumped it all over Sebastian, burying him. As soon as Sebastian poked his head out, the Lobster Mobster reached behind him and whipped out a clawful of slugs thrusting it in Sebastian's face.
"Now back off, or I'll fill you full of slugs!," the lobster threatened. "Great, big, squiggly slugs."
But Sebastian stood his ground, maintaining his act. "Obviously, you do not know dat I am, Crab Louie!"
The Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp were surprised.
"Really? I thought that you'd be taller," The Lobster Mobster said squinting.
Da Shrimp, however, was delighted. "It's him, Boss! The guy we've been waiting for!" the little Shrimp said excitedly. "Isn't this great? I finally get to meet Crab Louie!"
At that moment, a creature poked his head out of The Lobster Mobster's seashell hat. The little creature hopped off of his head, slid down his tail, and then scampered away.
"Say, may I borrow your hat for a second?" The Lobster Mobster asked politely.
Sebastian obliged, taking the hat off of his head, offering it. The Lobster Mobster then took Sebastian's hat and then clonked Da Shrimp right on the head, sending him flying. Then, The Lobster Mobster placed the cap back on Sebastian's head.
"I see you know how ta be tough," Sebastian said, pretending to be impressed. "I can use you."
The Lobster Mobster smiled with pride, feeling pleased.
"What about me?" Da Shrimp asked. "Guys like you can always use a little mussel!" He then chuckled at his little joke. "Get it, Boss? A mussel? Because I'm a little mussel?"
Sebastian and The Lobster Mobster scowled at Da Shrimp, not finding his joke to be very funny. Sebastian then took off his hat, offering it again, and the Lobster Mobster used the cap to whack Da Shrimp again, and then gave it back to Sebastian.
"All right, youse guys," Sebastian barked. "Over here. I want to show you something I want to take over."
Sebastian then led The Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp away from the cave and over to a secluded area at a small rocky arch. Then as soon as they were underneath the arch, Sebastian shouted.
"Now!"
Garret and Urchin then came out from above the arch, the two merboys carrying a net and throwing at the two scoundrels. Da Shrimp managed to swim out of the way just in time due to being so startled, but The Lobster Mobster wasn't so lucky as was trapped in the net.
"Hey! What's going on here?!" exclaimed The Lobster Mobster. "Shrimp! Come back here! Get me out of this thing!"
But Da Shrimp was nowhere to be seen.
"Huh! Talk about the chicken of the sea," grumbled The Lobster Mobster. Then he looked at Urchin. "And you! I gave you the best afternoon of your life!"
"Sorry to disappoint you," Urchin scoffed.
"Sebastian, make sure to keep an eye on him," said Garret. "We'll go and free, Ariel and Flounder."
Garret and Flounder then started back to the cave while Sebastian stayed behind to keep an eye on Da Shrimp. However, as they swam about, they didn't know that Da Shrimp was hiding in a bushel of seaweed, waiting for his chance. As soon as the two merboys were out of sight, Da Shrimp quickly swam over to the Lobster Mobster, and untied the net, setting him free.
Garret and Urchin soon made it back to the cave where the boulder blocked the entrance. Urchin looked around, and then he swam over to the side of the opening. On the side of the cave was a large bundle of rope. Urchin then grabbed the rope, and then fed it inside. Ariel and Flounder, understanding Urchin's intentions, took the rope, and then pushed it.
"Alright. Now that we got it tied up, how do you suggest we go about moving this?" asked Garret. "The two of us aren't strong enough to pull this."
Urchin then looked up and smiled, pointing upward. Garret looked towards that direction, in time to see a massive humpback whale swimming towards them.
Garret then understood what Urchin had planned. "You sure this will work?" he asked.
"Trust me," said Urchin. "It will."
The two merboys then took hold of the rope and swam over to the whale. Then, when they were close enough to the whale, Urchin tied the rope around the whale's tailfin and let go as did Garret. With a mighty tug thanks to the whale's strength, it pulled the boulder straight out of the entrance setting Ariel and Flounder free.
"Hey, Urchin! That was a neat trick!" said Flounder.
"A neat trick? More like a stroke of genius!" said Garret. "I'm impressed!"
"Don't thank me just yet," said Urchin. "There's still The Lobster Mobster to deal with."
The four then swam back to where The Lobster Mobster was trapped, only to find Sebastian trapped inside the net with The Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp nowhere in sight.
"Oh, no! The Lobster Mobster got away!" gasped Urchin.
"What happened, Crabby?" asked Garret. "I thought you were watching him."
"I was, but a criminal like De Lobster Mobster is always has something in his sleeve, and on de run," said Sebastian. "He's a ruthless criminal, and how do I know dis? I know because he stole my hat!"
"Never mind the hat, Sebastian," said Ariel. "We've got to tell Daddy about what's going on."
"Yeah. If those two are roaming around the place, who knows how much trouble they'll cause," agreed Garret. "I say we head back to the palace. King Triton's bound to be back by now."
"But, but, do we have to go now? I mean, can't we handle it ourselves?" Urchin asked, sounding a bit worried.
"Come on, Urchin. You're still not scared, are you?" asked Ariel. "I already told you that he's kind and understanding."
"But he's a king! Why would he want to bother with me?" Urchin complained. "Except maybe to take his trident and fry my tail."
"Urchin, you have to talk to King Triton," said Garret. "Not just because of The Lobster Mobster, but also because it's the right thing to do. So, you've made a mistake? The only thing you can do is not only learn from it, but also to own up to it."
"Garret's right," agreed Ariel. "And don't worry. We'll vouch for you when we talk to Daddy. It'll be okay."
Urchin still wasn't sure, but after a few seconds of thinking, he agreed. "Alright then," he said. "But only if you promise he won't blast me with his trident."
"He won't," reassured Ariel. "Trust me."
The five friends then started back towards Atlantica with the hopes that King Triton would be back, and the hopes that he isn't too cross with Urchin.
Meanwhile, The Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp were swimming as fast as they could, trying to find a place to hide. Soon enough, they came to a stop near a small plateau, catching their breath.
"Now what we do, Boss?" asked Da Shrimp. "We can't keep swimming forever."
"We lay low, see?" replied The Lobster Mobster. "Those two kids and that goofy crab put one over on us good."
Then, a great, big, shadow cast over the two causing them to look up. What the two saw, made The Lobster Mobster nearly jump out of his shell in fright. Before them, was an enormous, gargantuan crab that wore a blue shell hat on top of his head. So massive that it made a shark look like a little guppy.
"Wh-Who are you?" stammered The Lobster Mobster.
"I am Crab Louie," the giant crab spoke in a deep and booming voice.
Da Shrimp then skeptically scowled. "Come on. You don't expect us to fall for that again?" he scoffed, not intimidated. "Drop the phony act before we fill you full of slugs!"
But Da Shrimp would soon regret his words, as Crab Louie grabbed the two by his claws, growling menacingly.
Now, Da Shrimp was scared. "I-It's him! The real Crab Louie!" he squeaked.
Crab Louie was just about to put on the squeeze on the two, when The Lobster Mobster interjected.
"H-Hold on! How about we make a deal?" the fearful lobster croaked. "I know how you can get your claws on a ton of treasure! In exchange, you don't crack us! What do you say?"
Crab Louie thought for a moment, then he set the two of them down and let them go. "All right, y'all jailbirds. Youse got a deal."
"Oh, thank you, Crab Louie, sir!" Da Shrimp stammered. "We appreciate youse freeing us! To show my appreciation, I have a song to sing for you!"
"As I once said to the warden, please excuse me," The Lobster Mobster said to Crab Louie.
Then, before Da Shrimp could start singing, The Lobster Mobster took off his hat and clonked him on the head.
At the palace, Ariel and the others made it back, and found King Triton waiting for them. They then explained what had happened.
"Urchin is brave and loyal," said Ariel.
"As loyal as you are, Your Majesty," joined in Sebastian.
"And he's clever, too," added Garret. "If it weren't for him, we never would have saved Ariel and Flounder."
"Yup! And I'm living proof of your Mighness," Flounder spoke, fumbling over his words a bit. "I mean, your hajesty."
"Flounder. Not helping," Garret whispered.
King Triton pondered his gaze fixed solely on Urchin. "That may be so, but he was in the company of unsavory types," he pointed out sternly. "Sebastian, said so himself. And-"
Just then, one of King Triton's guards came swimming into the throne room, in a frantic panic.
"Your Majesty! Your Majesty!" the guard cried. "A gigantic crab is ripping open the royal treasure vault!"
King Triton gasped as did Ariel and the gang. Everyone immediately swam outside, heading straight for the vault. Sure enough, standing on top of the vault scooping up whatever treasure he could get his claws on into his sack, was Crab Louie, who was beside himself with greed.
"Ooh, I'm going to tell you, when I get home, I' going to buy the whole swamp!" Crab Louie cackled. "No, the whole ocean!"
"It's that rapscallion Crab Louie, alright," said King Triton. "And he's stealing all of the royal family's treasure."
"Don't worry!" said Urchin bravely. "I can handle him!"
The merboy then looked around until his eyes fell upon a bundle of rope that was nearby in the vault. Urchin then swam bravely towards vault avoiding Crab Louie's claws, and grabbed the rope. Crab Louie attempted to catch Urchin with his pincers, but the little merboy was too quick, avoiding him as tying a part of the rope around his legs. Then he did the same thing to the other side, tying them tightly, and swam upward, trying to trip Crab Louie up. However, Crab Louie began tugging on the rope pulling Urchin towards him.
Seeing that Urchin was in trouble, Garret began moving before his body could react.
"Hang on, Urchin! I'm coming!" Garret shouted.
Garret then grabbed hold of the rope and then started pulling along with Urchin, the two merboys gaining a bit of ground. Ariel and Flounder then swam into the fray, the two of them joining their friends in pulling the rope.
"Your Majesty! Blast dat monster with your trident!" Sebastian cried. "Otherwise, dose kids are going to get demselves hurt!"
But King Triton shook his head. "They can do it without my help," the king replied. "Just watch."
Ariel, Garret, Urchin, and Flounder pumped their tailfins and pulled with every ounce of strength they had, until finally, they finally were able to pull Crab Louie clean off the vault, as he fell to the ground with an earth-shaking thud.
"Alright! We did it!" cheered Garret.
"Yeah! Way to go!" Urchin also cheered.
The two merboys gave each other a high five. Ariel came swimming up, and gave them both a hug and a kiss on each of their cheeks, which made them both blush. Then, King Triton came up to them. The moment he saw the king, Urchin tried to swim away, but Ariel and Garret prevented him by grabbing each of his hands. Urchin then knew what he had to do. He swam up to King Triton and gathered his courage.
"I'm - sorry I ruined the Neptune Ball, your highness," Urchin apologized. "I didn't mean to cause trouble."
King Triton stared at Urchin. Then a kind smile spread underneath his beard. "It was only good you took," he said. Then he began to chuckle. "And it was the most excitement we've had in the Neptune Ball in years."
"But, of course, your majesty!" agreed Sebastian. "Why, the boy was just led astray by that lowdown, no-good Lobster Mobster."
"That's not what you were saying a moment ago," Garret muttered, rolling his eyes.
Urchin then gazed at King Triton's mighty trident. "So, can you really shoot lightning out of that?" he asked curiously.
"That and more, lad," King Triton smiled.
The king raised his trident high above his head, as it began to glow and hum. Then, he fired a blast of energy straight at Crab Louie, launching the crustacean high into the air until he disappeared into the oceans above, much to everyone's awe and amazement.
"If you swim with sharks, you're a shark, and the same can be said for mobsters," King Triton spoke wisely to Urchin. "Remember that, young merman."
Urchin was bewildered as well as amazed, having a newly found admiration for the king.
"Gosh. Nobody's ever called me a merman before," Urchin murmured.
"Guess that means he forgives you," Garret said with a grin.
"You see? I told you he's nice," said Ariel.
"And for your bravery as well as your courage," went on King Triton. "I'll see to it that you have a good home here in Atlantica. A young merman like you could use a place to stay as well as a loving family."
"You mean it?" Urchin gasped, his eyes lighting with joy. "Will I be able to see my friends all the time?"
"Of course," smiled King Triton. "You're welcome to come to the palace anytime you'd like."
Ariel, Garret, and Sebastian could only smile, happy that Urchin not only was forgiven, but being given a chance to start a new life with friends and as well family.
While everyone else was enjoying the moment, The Lobster Mobster and Da Shrimp were watching from afar. They had seen everything that had happened, including King Triton sending Crab Louie flying. The duo decided to take their leave, swimming away, not wanting to get involved.
"So, what are we going to do now, Boss?" asked Da Shrimp.
"Us? Well, uh," said The Lobster Mobster. "We're going to take over something else, of course."
Da Shrimp was excited. "Oh, boy, Boss! What are we going to take over? What's it going to be? Something that doesn't eat us, I hope. I hope it's going to be something or place, Boss, or it's going to-"
"OH, SHADDUP!" The Lobster Mobster yelled, as he once again clonked Da Shrimp on top of his head with his hat.
