The purpose of Mystogan's goal was to send all of the Magic Edolas had obtained through the Anima and into Earthland, sending the islands crashing down and the Magical Tools to cease working, thus causing a panic, his goal was a villain-hero ending where Panther Lily being the hero and Mystogan the villain, but Natsu beat them both to the punch by dressing up as the 'Great Demon Lord Dragneel', using a tied-up Faust and the truth of Mystogan's background to egg Mystogan into fighting, if he wants to preserve the city.
Mystogan tried to dissuade Natsu from going through with the terror, but Natsu had left him one recourse, to make it true and believable as Mystogan had to use his fists to 'beat' the Demon Lord, they putting on a good show for all of the people as Natsu started to recite the Farewell Ceremony, knowing that this will be Mystogan's home from now on and he wouldn't be able to come back to Earthland any time soon.
He made it through with the first rule, 'To never reveal sensitive information about Fairy Tail as long as you live to others', he 'forgot' the second rule on purpose for Mystogan to recite in response, 'Never to use former contacts through your guild work for personal gains', before finishing up with the final one in toppling in 'defeat', 'to live your life to the fullest, to never believe your life to be minor in anything, and to never forget the friends you have been gained and made as long as you lived', three rules of Fairy Tail and ones that meant the world to all that leave, who still work in the guild, and who love the guild with all of their heart as the Anima started to absorb those with Magic Power and send them back to Earthland, the 'demons' continuing the act with suffering from the absorbing magic before biding farewell to Mystogan before they returned to Earthland, rather dramatically in a pile while Alex landed on his feet as he dusted himself off with the rain pouring over them in a downpour.
"Well, that was an adventure for all of you, I am grateful that we all got through that crazy adventure." He glanced to them and winced as he spoke. "Geez, Erza, that Knightwalker character really put you through the ringer..." She slumped as she spoke.
"I thought I would have the upper hand, but I haven't been able to replicate your skills in the slightest." Alex waved it off as everyone started to get out of the pile.
"No harm done, we are all still alive, bruised is a given, but all part of the work." He turned as everyone else did the same to see Magnolia in the distance, perfectly fine and okay as Natsu cheered.
"Alright, Magnolia's back to normal!"
"Even the guild is back!"
"Aye!"
"Wait." Erza answered as she spoke. "We must be sure..." Alex cleared his throat and pointed up with looking, everyone doing the same, to see Exceeds flying in the air as he spoke.
"They got here first and, if anything was wrong, they would have said as much." But everyone's faces were agape in surprise as Alex rolled his eyes. "They are all users of Magic, ALL Magic in Edolas is gone and we can't use the Anima to send them back, that would be bad and rude." Carla hummed in still fighting the idea of them staying in Earthland as Shagotte admitted the truth to all there.
She told of her vision and her choice to save the unborn children of the Exceeds, but also had them sent under the belief that they were required to take care of the Dragon Slayers while there. A needed lie to keep the people from panicking over the decay of Magical energy in Edolas, but the truth of the matter was she also failed to realize that Carla would be blessed with that same gift of Precognition and that it would plant such a false memory into her.
They left off with good terms with each other, though Nabi's fist-bumping was contagious, Erza socked Nichiya for his 'sniffing her parfum', and Shagotte and her Council got a tad dodgy to Carla's open question of WHY she got the ability in the first place, certainly put it up for appearance sake. Happy 'did' find his real family, but he was just as happy to have two families to call his own, though Lucky made it slightly tough to accept him as his dad as the Exceeds headed off to find a home to reside in and to start their search for the missing children.
Alex nodded with seeing them off before he turned to the sight. "Guys..." He shook his head at the small huddle... being Nabi'd as they debated what they should tell the guild, nothing for starters, but they did have to tell about Mystogan now before Gajeel inquired about Lily, there was no sighting of him among the others as Alex pointed to Lily emerging, just about the same size as Happy and Carla as he explained that he changed into that form as Earthland didn't agree with his usual form, Happy wondering if Lily's bigger form was just his 'Battle Form' and he could reserve power in the new form better than constantly using up his own strength for it as he inquired of Gajeel to take him in as a member of Fairy Tail that had watched over his prince, Gajeel all too happy to have a partner at last.
"On another note, I have caught someone suspicious."
"Alright, you are really achieving greatness!" Alex trailed the rope toward where the hostage was being brought out from, she slumping forward as she got back on her knees to answer, Natsu gaping at the face that was the person's.
"I'm not suspicious at all! I'm a member of Fairy Tail too!" There was little doubt, Lisanna was right before them as she recognize Panther Lily as a Exceed, Gajeel trying to pick a fight while the rest were utterly confused as to the Edolas Lisanna doing in Earthland now, she glancing to Natsu and pausing as they shared a glance, Alex rolling his eyes at what was to come before she flung herself right at him, managing to hook her bound arms around Natsu's head in a hug, with Lily along for the ride as she beamed with getting up and staring into Natsu's eyes, tears in her eyes.
"I finally get to see the real you! I finally get to see the real Natsu!" She left Natsu hanging in shock as she hugged Happy in joy before commenting on Erza and Gray and recognizing Lucy and Wendy, all of them stunned before Gray finally got off the one question that came down to them.
"Wait a sec... does that mean you're... OUR Lisanna!?" She gave a simple nod to their shock, that shock short for Natsu and Happy as they wailed in joy and almost got to her for hugs, but Erza stopped them in questioning Lisanna as their Lisanna died two years ago and she answered the demanded question.
The truth of the matter was complex, though Mira had healed her up a bit, she was actually pulled into Edolas through a portal of Anima and she came to at Edolas Fairy Tail where everyone assumed that she was their Lisanna who died from a high fall, Natsu and Happy glancing to the other in wondering as that Lisanna didn't appear in their world while Edolas grabbed their Lisanna. She explained that she lived in the role for two years before Natsu and Happy arrived, sedated to be sure, but she knew them and had fled when they were explaining where they were from because she couldn't bare to hurt her family again, the Edolas Mira and Elfman didn't need that pain in their lives at all, but fate decided otherwise for her as she still had a Magical Core and that pulled her along back to Earthland.
It also revealed that they knew that she was not their Lisanna, that she was doing her best to fill in the gap left by theirs, but that she shouldn't let her own siblings suffer any longer as she was released into Anima by Edo Mirajane...
The rain poured over his body as he walked, he walked when Lisanna started to answer the truth, it was her story, not his to tell and she can tell it now as he tread through the murk and cold of the pouring rain before his boots stopped in place, his eyes taking in all of the straw hut before him, a tombstone before him, all before he reached into his overcoat and pulled out a bundle of flowers and set them before the stone and just stared on one knee in the soft dirt.
It was strange... how it felt to look upon it and know that the one who it belonged to... had returned from a another world, making the grave meaningless, it was followed with a sense of... wondering, if he could...
He stopped and breathed with exposing his forearm and clawing it, enough to pierce the skin for the pain to burn into his mind. He was not a God, nor should he be, whatever miracles of life or existence there may be, he will not exceed those limits, he worked as a bounty hunter, a medical officer, and a fine support, he had enough to fill his plate of life now. He breathed before binding the inflicted-wound in gauze and gripping it tight as he fell onto the other knee and just sat there with finishing the bindings, the only sounds being his own breathing and the rain as it poured over him and dripped over his character before he spoke to the grave.
"You're back, you are back in Earthland and I am happy for you..." He huffed as he continued. "But two years have passed since your death and I am not sure how the guild will feel about your return, perhaps joy, relief, who knows..." Resting his hands in his lap, he continued. "Yes, you would tell me that two years had also went on in Edolas, but two years without you here... there is a rift and it will take time for all of us to recover from it, I see it in Mirajane's pain, I see it in Elfman's fear, and I see it in Natsu's eyes, they missed you and now, they will need you to put the puzzle back together for them, to help them recover more swiftly, but moreover..." He ran a hand over the words made on the grave, mimicking some of the grave up at the cathedral, but with additional words of 'My wife and girl' and 'Mom' on it as he got up and tilted his Stetson to the grave. "...Love them once more and restore their hearts from the dark of lost family..." He turned and walked away, the guild was waiting for him, but if he had stuck around, he would have noticed the blue cat that came to the site and stood before the stone before he pulled out a fish bone and started to chip at the rock on the back, finishing his writing before taking flight back to Magnolia, the words now on the stone being 'Finally back home...'
Alex could really see a better mood to everyone and that was a good sign. They may not have known about what happened several hours ago, but their reaction to the return of Lisanna was a good one as he sipped his drink of juice again, Mirajane having brought it up to him before giving him a tearful hug, she much more cheery than before as he continued to take in all of the guild, it was a real happy mess...
He turned away to stare into his mug with breathing, Tenrou Island awaited the guild and, if things went smoothly, then there shouldn't be any trouble from either the Council or Grimore Heart, but that was nothing of his business after all as the members had been selected and, while he was a truly powerful Wizard, he wouldn't be fit to enter into the S-Rank Trials right now, nor should he attempt any hare-brained ideas to change that.
He shook his head with taking more of a drink before he paused, glancing to the side at the man sitting right beside him, beaming with a metal arm holding his face up from the table, he slowly lowering the mug as the guild noticed the intense atmosphere and found it with Gildarts right beside Alex, uneasy to what the two were going to do before the Strongest Wizard inquired. "Hey, Mira, who did the Jewels go to?" The Strauss sibling blinked before laughing as she answered.
"Fifty mil to me, Gildarts, but I think I'll keep one fifth for myself, two-fifths to my siblings, and the last two to Lucy and the Guild."
"PRAISE BE TO MIRAJANE!" Lucy exclaimed in tears as the guild laughed at the reaction as Gildarts pulled out ten hefty bags of Jewels before tossing them over the railing, the members catching them as Gildarts spoke.
"Mystery Hunter, at last we meet."
"I wasn't trying to hide, I just didn't need the public eye on me." Alex rolled his wrist as he spoke. "I speak for myself, but I am grateful to have aided you in the slightest measure, the beast still breathes?"
"After a round through the heart and back out, there is no coming back from that, kid." He relaxed his leaning before he donned a serious look, the air bending under it as everyone felt it. "Though I will have to admit, you got some nerve, running off and making the Guild go on a wild goose chase for you, Makarov outed you with asking the task, but running off like that was reckless."
"Come on, you know we just mess around." Alex voiced as he sloshed his drink and downed the last of it. "There was no rule saying that getting a mob after you doesn't mean making a run for it to escape them, nor does it say that I couldn't give them a bit of a workout getting their bounty."
"You managed to drag me along for the ride because I was ticked you refused to admit to it."
"Because it was not part of my duties as a member of Fairy Tail." Alex retorted as the members started to notice that things were getting a tad bit more heated up as Alex answered. "Acnologia was your task and, despite my last-minute appearance, the mission was your own work, your mark, I had nothing to do with it, Gildarts."
"That's funny, really, it is..." Gildarts answered with narrowed brow. "Because I think that you were either holding back or you are just pretending to be a member." Alex's hand tightened on the mug before he hissed.
"Choose your words CAREFULLY, Gildarts, that sounds like you don't acknowledge Makarov's allowance of me, my brother, or Freefall into the Guild."
"I got nothing against you, but your motives make me a bit suspect of what you are doing here in the first place." Alex frowned as Kenith, freed from his card prison, grimaced at the lead that Gildarts was yanking on to get a raise out of Alex. "Tell me something that no one else should know, you got some crazy tricks, so give me a good one." The two stared off and it felt like a golem and a spirit of death were in an epic battle against the other and it was pressing on everyone there before he spoke.
"How's Cornelia...?" A flare of rage filled Gildart's eye as Cana choked at the simple line, the golem taking a swing and the spirit blocking it, the fist slamming into the railing and somehow destroying it as the members quickly evaded the sudden eruption as Alex spoke. "You can claim to be the Strongest, you can claim to be a good man, but it would seem that you had forgotten that family isn't just the ones you have come to care for, it is also the family that you had made." Both stood up as the Guild members moved to protect the more vulnerable members as the air around the both of them started to get a haze to it. "It would seem that this chat is getting a bit more heated than expected, what say we take it out in the East Forest, Gildarts...?"
"Lead the way, Bounty Hunter..."
"The name is Alex." With that, the two headed off with the Guild packing up to follow and hopefully stop them from destroying who knows what...
