Author's Note: Again, sorry for the long delay. Writer's block is the worst and I struggled with how to continue this, but now a new chapter is finally here!

Chapter 7: A New Adventure, An Old Enemy.
Meanwhile, with Sun and Tails, shortly after their reunion...
It was such a huge relief to see Tails again, and traveling with him, Sun decided. Not only he had help from his and Sonic's youngest brother to locate the Chaos Emeralds as well as Sonic and Princess Elise, but flying in a plane with the two-tailed cub who was only eight year old was a millions times better than riding with Vector, who was 20 years old yet he was lousy pilot that even Espio and Charmy knew it.
As of now, the two companions were sailing through the skies while attempting to avoid the S.N.A.K.E.S organization from attacking them.
"It looks like the signal's getting stronger. I'm picking up powerful Chaos Energy waves in the north-west from here." Tails announced as he briefly checked the monitor as he had installed the Miles Electric to his GP scanner.
"Good thing you got that scanner handy, Tails. 'Cause finding the Chaos Emerald in this area would be like finding a needle in a haystack." Sun remarked, as he gazed slightly over the edge of the plane while they flew over an area that none of them had seen before.
The place they were both flying over right now was in the middle of just passing by the New City section of the Kingdom, and across the ocean was really beautiful, quite close to Wave Ocean. While it would make it a bit difficult to find the Chaos Emerald there, as the two wondered what to do, what they saw made them shocked.
"AH! No way!" Tails exclaimed, his eyes widening in disbelief.
"You've gotta be kidding me!" Sun cried out, holding back the urge to groan aloud.
Because right there in the middle of the ocean was a metal structure and a tunnel leading into an underwater base that looked pretty much abandoned. But what caught the duo's attention was the unfortunate logo of a familiar and ugly face belonging to the one man whom they and Sonic knew was gone forever, which made them even more concerned given what was going on.
"Eggman..." The orange hedgehog's eyes narrowed angrily.
Landing close to shore with the Plane's water landing gear installed into place, Tails and Sun carefully made their way into the tunnel after unlocking the entrance. Even though the place was abandoned, the two Mobians didn't want to take their chances as they slid down the tunnel leading into Dr. Eggman's abandoned base before landing at the bottom and then began making their way through the dark tunnels.
Thankfully the Miles Electric also came with a flash-light mod, so it was pretty easy to see through the dark.
"Looks like Ro-butt-nik had the similar idea earlier. Though I guess attempting to locate the Sun Stone was no easy feat." Sun remarked half-sarcastically, his hands on his hips.
"Or it could be that Dr. Eggman had trouble with this place and he might have learned about the Sun Stone's curse if he tried to steal it for himself and possibly gave up." Tails theorized, his fingers placed into his chin.
"That's surprising, given how he would've loved to do something like that." The orange hedgehog rolled his eyes.
But the eight year old cub shook his head, pointing out as a certain scary memory came into his mind. "That's not really the case, Sun. Eggman would've, except like Sonic, even though he was already a monster, he didn't want to physically become one...Not like how his brother Julius did."
"Huh?" That was a bit more news to Sun.
"Remember what we told you about our adventures in Station Square for the first time last month? Julius wanted to use Cream and Cheese's bond to draw out the special rare Chao to use the Chaos Emeralds' powers and while normally it wouldn't work on humans, he used the negative power from both to grow into a giant." Tails explained, shuddering over that part of the memory.
"Oh. Right, yeah. Kinda forgot about that." The tangerine hedgehog murmured, lowering his gaze. Even now he was still shocked and horrified how even Eggman's own family would do such a thing. Even worse, it all started when the corrupted Government attempted to control or destroy Shadow for their own cruel purposes, even to the point of ordering the twice as corrupted GUN to shoot first and anybody who simply just stood there in fear and kill them, leaving no witnesses and only caring about themselves and not even their own people outside of the organization.
While they were still shady, at least the current generaton of GUN was more for defending people than what their preceeders' actions were. Still, the former Werehog was still admittedly shaken that Julius Robotnik had lead a twisted dark organization in order to take over the world for himself even to the point of becoming a monster.
"Since then, even though Eggman was still cruel, he was never that cruel. I think seeing his own brother do that might have scarred him for life." The two-tailed fox concluded.
"Good point. That guy might've been stupid, but at least he wasn't THAT stupid in killing himself that way." Sun finally shrugged in agreement, groaning. "Not like a certain crazy platypus who was his number 1 fan. Ugh..."
As the two walked to find the Chaos Emerald within the abandoned base, unbeknownst to Sun and Tails, a mysterious figure in silhouette moved across from one side of the room to another, a gleaming blue eye leering at the Mobians, but mainly focusing on the orange hedgehog who didn't even sense the movement from where he was.
'I've finally found you...Sun the Hedgehog.' The figure thought, chuckling silently, but deeply and evilly in a male voice.
Further down into the abandoned base that didn't seem to flood thankfully, at least not yet, Sun and Tails knew that they were getting closer and closer to the Chaos Emerald as the Miles Electric was beeping, the Chaos Energy signal was getting stronger.
"It looks like the Chaos Emerald might just be around the corner." Tails remarked, pausing near another corridor entrance which was blocked by a barricaded door.
"Weird place for the Emerald to hide in. If Buttnik was still alive, he would've had a field day to use this base all over again." Sun folded his arms, cracking his knuckles as he readied himself to open the door.
"Yeah, but it's on the other side of this door. With the power out, it's going to be difficult to-"
Before he could continue, Tails jumped when Sun used his powerful strength to punch the huge door open, bending it so hard that it fell backwards while having a dent at the same time. The former Werehog smirked as he dusted his hands off.
"Just call me The Doorman." Sun smugly said, stepping inside to continue the search, briefly leaving behind a bewildered two-tailed fox, who then sighed and hurried along to follow him.
'He's definitely a combination of Sonic, Knuckles and Shadow.' Tails thought to himself, in mocked exasperation but with a small smile.
By then the signal became so great that the young cub paused just a little bit behind his new brother and, confused and startled, he took a couple steps backwards when the signal was so great that it was nearly skyrocketing. Turning to his right, Tails found something shining slightly in the rubble near where the door was broken down.
"Hey, Sun! Hold up!" Tails called out, making the orange hedgehog pause and look over his shoulder. "I think it's right here."
"Huh? Seriously?" Sun blinked in surprise, before hurrying over to join the young kit who by then put his gadget down and began to remove and dig through the small broken pieces of debris. The orange hedgehog quickly joined him to see and to his surprise he could feel the familiar energy which he felt he noticed as he walked past, but dismissed it for that moment as his imagination of memory of when Sonic lend some of his Chaos Energy three months ago.
Digging their way through, the energy grew and the light glowed a bit brighter until finally they saw a familiar shine within the rocks and broken pieces of concrete. Coloured red, Sun and Tails removed the last of the rock and to their relief, surprise and delight, it was the red Chaos Emerald. Both of them smiled in relief as the former then picked it up before standing along with his brother.
"Well, that was easy. Thanks, Tails." Sun smirked.
"Well, I've had experience with Sonic in locating the Chaos Emeralds, and you should thank the Miles Electric." Tails sheepishly rubbed the back of his head while picking up his aforementioned device.
"Which you built. Just got six more to find and then we'll find Sonic and that Princess girl Harutio told me about." The orange hedgehog pointed out. "Let's get outta here before this place decides to gave in and flood or something."
"Going someone, boys?"
Sun gasped sharply at the sudden sound of a hauntingly familiar voice echoing all around them, and much too close for his taste, while Tails jumped in fright before they both turned to see a shockingly figure suddenly fire a laser right at them.
"LOOK OUT!" The former Sonic clone shouted, shoving the two-tailed fox to the floor and using himself to shield the youngest, narrowly avoiding in getting vaporized. Once the attack was clear, Sun narrowed his eyes as he gazed up to where the attack came from, while Tails looked up hesitantly and both of them gasped in shock and horror to see that the figure was terrifying...
And in Sun's case, familiar as though he was seeing a ghost.
Because there stood a hybrid of a hedgehog and an echidna, a dark shade of purple with big ears almost like fox ears, but in hedgehog style with four quills on it's back, five quills in a dread-lock, wearing an eye-patch over his left eye, the other eye being icy light blue in colour, long leather dark-grey gloves, a chest-plate with a red gem that glowed and blinked, and red and black boots with blood-stain designs, and sporting a large gashed scar on his right arm up to his shoulder.
Yet his still implanted metal arm had already turned into his upgraded laser cannon mode, aimed at the two Mobians.
This was Terrance the Hedgehog, Sun the Hedgehog's archenemy and former agent of Dr. Starline and the Hybrians.
"You really are such an nuisance, Sunspot the Hedgehog." Terrance mocked with a twisted evil grin.
"Terrance...!" Sun hissed darkly as he stood up in a fighting stance. "I thought you were dead!"
"I would have had been, but I'll let in a little secret that you and your original self Sonic don't know about." The purple hedgehog grinned coldly.
"Sonic is my and Tails' brother, Terror-Jerk!" The orange hedgehog snapped furiously, while standing up and stood in front of Tails who was shocked to hear and see what was happening.
"This is Terrance you told me and Sonic about!?" The eight year old cub exclaimed, bewildered, and in no small amount of horror.
"Yeah, that's him. Didn't think he'd still be alive." Sun grunted, secretly handing the Chaos Emerald over to the young fox, while he then growled softly at his old enemey. "Let me guess: You managed to escape and had been in hiding for two months just so you could get your revenge on me. Is that it?"
That made the evil hedgehog groan and frown deeply. "I hate it when you figure out ideas and plans before I even finish them. So did Dr. Starline."
"It's called observation. Look it up sometime."
"Hmph. You haven't changed much from our last battle, and judging that little mutant pest behind you, I'd wager that he is Sonic's little sidekick Miles Prower. Except I don't see Sonic here at all. Was he too embarrassed to come, or was this brat abandoned?" Terrance smirked coldly.
"Sonic would never do that!" Tails snapped angrily, glaring the evil Hybrian that he didn't like already.
The cruel former agent chuckled. "Ah yes, I would figure as such. As you can see, I have been following you, I had heard what has transpired in Soleanna, including the rumors that the so-called hero of Mobius has rescued it's Princess and must now go on a quest to relocate the Sun Ston Shards. I was even considering on joining Julian's organization for power and revenge...before I move in to kill Sonic the Hedgehog himself!"
Sun and Tails both frowned deeply as the former stood ready to fight. "In your dreams! You're not getting to Sonic and if you think we're going to let you join a bunch of weirdos that have turned into snake-monsters, or Negas or whatever they're caled, you're even more demented than when you were teamed up with Beak-Face!"
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha! You cannot simply destroy me, Sun the Hedgehog! If we fight, then it will cause a collapse within this base! Then again, it would be a more appropriate idea to kill you both and I claim the Chaos Emerald all for my own." Terrance manically laughed, and slowly took aim at the duo who stood ready, only to realize that he was about to aim at the ceiling with an insane grin.
"No, you don't!" Sun snapped, quickly going for a Homing Attack and bashed his long-time enemy into the chest, forcing him back and causing Terrance to be sent flying before he could cause severe damage to the base though he did end up firing his laser to the right and hit something in the distance. This only ended up causing the supposedly empty and powerless base' alarm to start blaring loudly, red lights flashing everywhere.
"Oh no! Eggman's back-up generator has somehow been locked away! We're in for an ambush, Sun!" Tails exclaimed in horror, as his Miles Electric began to pick up the Eggnet signal from further up ahead from where he, the orange hedgehog who landed safely, and Terrance were.
True to his word as Sun, who was quickly forced to go through an arm wrestle as Terrance flipped before charging for another attack at close range and the two enemy's struggled to power over one another, noticed, another slide door opened and revealed newly activated Egg Pawns and Badniks and other Eggman security system to come charging to kill them despite that the evil scientist was no longer alive. Tails quickly tucked the Chaos Emerald and his device away into his backpack and gazed worriedly in fear.
"Dang it...! Trust Eggman to leave behind his overrated pieces of junk!" Sun hissed, struggling to push back Terrance who smirked evilly.
"It seems you are left to die. I will kill you and your little friend and leave you both to rot with Dr. Robotnik's machines. That Chaos Emerald is mine!" Terrance declared in victory.
"SHUT UP!" The former Werehog snapped, kneeing his enemy right into the gut which caused the Hybrian to grunt in pain before he tossed Starline's former agent right at robots, causing Terrance to shout in fury and agony as he crashed right into the robot army who, seeing him first, gathered around the mutant hedgehog. "I'd say it's nice knowing you, Terrance, but we're outta here!"
"We have to leave now, Sun, or else the robots will overwhelm us!" The eight year old fox exclaimed.
"Right! Let's go!" Sun nodded, grabbing hold of Tails who yelped and then used one of his hooks to attach to the ceiling before he swung himself and his younger friend as high and fast as possible. Once the two-tailed fox was then holding onto him tightly, this left the orange hedgehog free to his both sets of the grapple hooks and swung as fast as he could away from the army of Robots, some attempting to capture Terrance while the others, seeing the two making their escape, chased after them while firing missiles and lasers at them to prevent the duo from getting out alive.
Terrance in the meantime refused to admit defeat and he simply activated his laser to destroy ten robots in a single hit, roaring like a Mobini animal as the machines, not used to his power and were more designed to attack(and be smashed) by Sonic and his friends. The Hybrian then wasted no time in punching and smashing the pathetic machines as though they were simply flies before gazing up ahead to see Sun and Tails get away with a few robots following them.
"You will not escape from me this time!" Terrance roared, as he powered up the jet-pack strapped to his back and flew after his enemies to destroy them once and for all.
The two companions in the meantime hurried as fast as they could before they were nearing the exit thankfully as it felt like it was taking forever. But when they were about to get away and fly up, they both heard the sounds of machines and a furious yell which prompted Sun and Tails to look behind them and gasped.
"Oh, come on!" Sun grunted in frustration, before he turned to Tails and firmly ordered. "Tails, you get back to the Tornado 1! I'll catch up!"
"But what about you!? I can't leave you!" The two-tailed fox protested.
"Just do it! Before Terrance gets the Chaos Emerald!" The orange hedgehog argued.
Left with no other choice despite hesitating as he had felt useless lately, Tails did want to help Sonic but he also wanted to help Sun at the same time, knowing of the risks. Yet with time quickly running out for both of them and hoping that the orange hedgehog would be alright, the eight year old fox nodded and flew up spinning his namesakes, but not before telling his friend to be careful, which he promised he would. Certain that Tails would be safe, Sun turned his attention to his opponents who began to launch an attack at him and the young cub.
"Should've known this wouldn't be an easy adventure." Sun grumbled, before he used his Homing Attack again to bash and smash against the robots, punching the heads of the badniks and smashing them with his fists even to the point of ripping one's arm off and shoved into the chest of it's owner to shut it down.
As soon as he was done with the first five, he gasped in horror as he saw Terrance about to fly up with a smirk on his face, realizing he was about to catch up to Tails, kill him and steal the Chaos Emerald.
"Get back here, Terrance!" Sun shouted, using his Grapple Hooks to attach them onto Terrance's arms which to the latter's shock before he allowed his hooks to pull him up and he grabbed hold of the former tightly in an mid-air struggle to prevent him from attacking his close friend and adoptive sibling. "Stay away from my two brothers!"
"You little fruit-coloured brat! Get off of me!" Terrance commanded, flying up and down and sideways to throw his young opponent off, while attempting to use his laser to shoot down Tails who was quickly hurrying over to the Tornado 1.
But Sun, with a lot of struggle, grabbed hold of the arm and as they were both flying around out of control, he managed to aim Terrance's arm downward and had the evil Hybrian to fire his laser cannon right at all of the remaining robots which were hit and exploded upon impact. The two struggled hard against one another as they ended up flying right out of the abandoned base which, due to the intrusion, began to self-destruct. Thankfully all of them were out safely, but the battle between Sun and Terrance wasn't over yet.
"It seems you're about to meet your watery end, Sunspot. I hope you can't swim!" Terrance snickered evilly, as he flew over the ocean in a few feet away from the destroyed base, attempting to throw Sun off while the orange hedgehog glared back. "Any last words, hedgehog?"
Sun was about to respond when he saw that Tails was already flying in the Tornado 1 and began to power up some sort of missile and decided that it was a risky idea and move, but went along with it and smirked.
"Well, I'd say...Buh-bye!" The orange hedgehog chuckled, waiting for Tails' signal.
"Glue-Gum Missile Fire!" Tails suddenly shouted, launching a missile right at the two and quickly cried out. "Sun, let go!"
"Thanks, Tails!" Sun waved and let go, falling towards the ocean while Terrance blinked in confusion, before gazing at the incoming attack before snickering.
"Foolish attempt, child!" The evil Hybrian snarled, aiming his laser arm to make the missile explode. But before he could, it exploded on it's own and a large giant goop of sticky substance quickly appeared, making him bewildered. "WHAT!?"
Too late, he couldn't escape as the gum trapped him in it's power, forcing Terrance to become pinned and his power jet turned off. He attempted to escape, but ended up falling towards the water along with Sun who cried out in alarm. Fortunately for the former Werehog, Tails called out to him and flew underneath the orange hedgehog who, seeing this, quickly flipped and landed safely onto the plane's wing before they flew away, while Terrance was left crashing into the ocean with a huge splash and apparently began to sink, unable to get the gum off of him.
"Sun, are you okay?" Tails asked immediately as he flew away from the destroyed abandoned base.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for the save. But, what was that stuff?" Sun replied, while gesturing at the bubblegum like substance.
The two-tailed fox giggled and winked. "My secret weapon originally meant for Eggman and his giant robots. It came in handy when Sonic and I were in Tesrod."
The orange hedgehog couldn't help but chuckle, as he had yet to learn of how Tails and Sonic adventure in Isalenna went after departing from them in Clocksworth down. He then asked teasingly. "Can I marry your brain?"
Tails just laughed, before he and Sun, who held on tightly, flew away from Wave Ocean and continue their search for the other Chaos Emeralds as well Sonic and Princess Elise to warn them of the dangers of the Sun Stone's curse.
Fully unaware that Terrance, due to the ocean washing away the sticky gum, managed to resurface with a furious gasp for air and simply floated with his jet now too wet to use and his laser arm forced to return to it's hand form while slightly malfunctioning. He glared up at the red biplane with it's young pilot and passenger flying away to escape.
"This isn't over, Sun the Hedgehog. You haven't seen the last of me yet...!" Terrance growled evilly and in pure hatred. "I will destroy you, and all of your friends...Especially that two-tailed brat and your original, Sonic the Hedgehog!"
He will get his revenge on his enemy and all that the orange hedgehog deeply loved. That Terrance would make certain of it.
A short time later after their narrow escape from Terrance and Dr. Eggman's failsafe alarm, Sun and Tails landed in New City to refuel and take a break in a nearby cheap but in good condition hotel. Once certain that the plane was in a safe place waiting for them, the two companions rented out a room to rest for an hour before they would continue onward on their adventure.
"Ugh...Trust Terrance to apparently come back from the dead." Sun grumbled, collapsing onto his bed.
"It sure was a close call. For a moment there I thought we were goners." Tails agreed as he sat on the bed to the right side of his friend, making sure that the Chaos Emerald was safely secured. "When you said that Terrance was really evil and crazy, you weren't kidding."
"Yeah, well, not only that but he's just too stubborn to die. Just hope Sonic and the Princess don't run into him anytime soon." The orange hedgehog sighed. "I thought he was gone for good. But I guess he managed to make a last ditch escape at Starline's base that blew up."
The two-tailed fox nodded, becoming more worried by the second. "Given what we've learned, he really wants to join an organization to be part of a team again and get revenge on you while killing Sonic and the rest of us."
Sun thought worriedly about that as well. Tails was right. Terrance was born for being part of an organization, whether it was for the Hybrians or not, as far as the evil purple hedgehog was concerned, he lived for evil duties, to kill and never leave any survivors. That was how Starline created him. As much as the former Werehog hated to admit it, when he first saw the Hybrians and what the evil Mobian scientist has done to those people, humans and Mobians alike, all so to replace both kinds in the world for power and dominion, it had absolutely terrified him.
Out of all of them, Sun had encountered the most dangerous members besides the Deadly Three and those three evil Zetis were horrible enough, especially Zavok: Grotto, Ceilia, especially Terrance, and Kobuta, even though the fourth of the high agents hadn't been as bad, but the guy was tricky enough. It had proved the Starline was more evil than Eggman even to the point of wanting to replace the human scientist as the biggest threat of Mobius.
"I'm sorry, Tails." Sun sighed, sitting up as he felt guilty for not paying attention or even realizing that Terrance was still alive. He felt awful, and knew that in that moment the S.N.A.K.E.S organization and the threat of Solaris killing Elise were not the only problems right about now. "Terrance is here because of me."
"Sun, how were you supposed to-"
"Because I...I should've known and like you guys, I don't want to be a killer, but Terrance is a monster...!" The orange hedgehog interrupted, grunting as he blamed himself for the slip. "I dragged you into this mess to find the Chaos Emeralds, now he wants to join some sickos who have turned into their own versions of Hybrians! I dragged Sonic this without even realizing it!"
He got up from his bed and began to pace around the room in frustration. "Sonic's in even more danger as long as that freak-head is alive! What kind of brother and friend am I?" Sun then paused with another sigh, angrily trying to force back his tears that began to slowly form. "Let's face it, Tails. I'm no hero. I only just saved the world on my own once. It was just...a beginner's luck."
"You didn't drag me into this mess, Sun." Tails pointed out gently, making his friend look at him as the two-tailed fox continued, with an expression that was firm, but full of sadness, understanding, sympathy and support. "It was my choice to come out here and help Sonic. It was my choice to help you find the Chaos Emeralds since we both want to help him. None of us are like GUN who more for shoot first, ask questions later, or not ask any questions at all. You're nothing like that. Everybody makes mistakes, and since we're all here, we still have a chance to stop our enemies from getting what they want."
That Tails knew for a long time, because it was something that Sonic once told him a long time ago. When Shadow was thought to have died after helping Sonic to save Mobius from the ARK colliding into the planet, the two-tailed fox had blamed himself for almost getting the blue hedgehog killed, but being the forgiving, supporting and loving big brother that he was, Sonic never blamed him. In fact, the hero of Mobius blamed himself for getting everyone into danger, but the real person to blame was Eggman, and Sonic had thanked Tails for even lending him the fake Emerald and that he could use Chaos Control to save himself, which in that turn, both Tails and Shadow had saved his life.
"If anybody's to blame for Terrance, and for what's happening now, it's Starline and the S.N.A.K.E.S organization. It'll be hard, but we can't give up. We're a team, Sun. You, me, Sonic and everybody else." The eight year old cub continued.
His violet eyes widened as Sun, stunned by the young fox's words, realized that the kid was right. If it hadn't been for the people that were fully to blame, everything would've been fine and none of the heroes would have gotten involved in any more dangers. While the orange hedgehog still felt guilty for not realizing that Terrance had been alive and seeking out revenge all this time, he knew that moping about it wasn't going to solve anything.
"I seriously don't get why everybody on Westside Island hate you just for your tails. You and Sonic were right. Those guys only cared about themselves, so they have no idea who you really are on the inside. You both are the coolest and nicest guys on the planet." Sun smiled warmly, taking a seat by Tails' left. "Thanks, Tails."
"I'd do anything for my family and friends, bro." Tails smiled back, and giggled when the orange hedgehog gently ruffled him on the head.
"I know." The orange hedgehog nodded, before declaring with growing determination. "If you're willing, let's go find the rest of the those and save Sonic and the Princess before it's too late."
"Yeah! Count me in!" The young cub agreed with growing bravery and determination, sharing a bro-fist with the former Werehog who smirked.
It wasn't long before Sun and Tails left the hotel before leaving in the Tornado 1 to continue their adventure in search for Sonic and Princess Elise...
Unaware that not only they missed Amy who had arrived earlier, but also missing Sonic and Elise who would arrive for a good night's rest after just recovering the first piece of the Sun Stone.
In the Mysterious Dimension, back with Dr. Eggman the next day...
As Eggman was hitching the ride in his Egg Mobile that was somewhat working thanks to the efforts of his robots, though it needed a break every hour or so if they were lucky, they continued to search their way out of this dimension, yet still not having any form of luck.
"This world is getting on my nerves! Who would have thought this place would be nice for monsters and dangerous criminals!? It's like a prison here!" Eggman snarled, getting more and more frustrated by the day.
"Perhaps it's because it is some sort of prison, but nothing like what we would have expected from places like say, the Underworld or something." Decoe suggested, nervously as he caught sight of a huge monster in a far off distance going into a brawl with a crazy zombie-like giant with green eyes and no skin covering up it's teeth.
"But why are we here? We're robots." Bokkun asked in annoyed confusion.
"Maybe even robots have a chance in comin' here too, like us!" Cubot remarked thoughtfully.
"Hmmm...If that were the case, then perhaps it could. The question is, would anybody in Mobius be that stupid to unleash his power?" The evil scientist murmured thoughtfully, which confused his dumbot minions. "I know that I said yesterday that there could be other ancient mysteries hidden on the planet, but there is one even I came to realize it was far too much of a risk and even potentially more dangerous than Dark Gaia."
"Really? What is it, boss?" Orbot asked as he and the other robots were suddenly curious over this.
"There is a legend involving the ancient Sun Stone in the Kingdom of Soleanna, which according to legend is said to be safe-guarded by the royal family. It contains the power and spirit of the Sun God himself, Solaris. However, only those of pure heart and royal blood can access them if they wished or have the power to seal him away should he be foolishly freed by those of hearts of darkness and if they are not of the royal blood, they would suffer a terrible curse to transform into what they truly are on the inside." Eggman explained.
"Is that why you abandoned the Aqua base in Wave Ocean last year, Dr. Eggman?" Bocoe asked, a little surprised.
For once, Eggman gulped as he shuddered. "Erm, well there's that as I researched on it and I once had a spy robot detect it and keep watch of the Kingdom's only heir, Princess Elise III and gathering enough readings from the Sun Stone, it's power was far too much even for my intelligence. There wasn't enough information and by stealing and breaking the Sun Stone would've been a complete disaster. Plus given what happened to my brother Julius with the power of the Chaos Emeralds and Chao, I...would rather stay human, thank you."
While Orbot and Cubot didn't know the full story of that, Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun all shuddered as they did. They knew what Eggman's twisted evil brother Julius had done and given how the man had transformed into a monster, that wasn't something even their creator would want to go through despite having been responsible for what happened to the Wisps a month ago.
He then groaned in annoyance. "Not to mention Sonic would've gotten in the way if he found out about this despite that his heart is full of light, not even he could control it as he is not of the royal blood. That, and those GUN agents caught wind a month after I saved Shadow, and also the marine life was far more dangerous in those waters. So I just gave up on that, but it has always been in the back of my mind as a back-up plan, but Dark Gaia made me force myself to change tatics. Hence to why I chose to go after the innocent Wisps since they were far more easier to gain..."
Remembering how he ended up here in the first place. the evil scientist then growled in anger. "If it wasn't for Sonic and his two-tailed brat friend, I would've ruled Mobius by now, and the Nega-Mother Wisp wouldn't have swallowed me!"
Just as he pounded his fist against the dashboard in his rant, the ground suddenly shook which made Eggman, Decoe, Bocoe, Bokkun, Orbot and Cubot to jump in alarm as an Earth tremor shook all around them, a loud rumbling was heard alongside terrifying roars.
"Wowza, Dr. E! That's some strength ya' got! You're makin' the whole world shake!" Cubot exclaimed, scared but very impressed, falsely believing his creator was the cause of this, making the other robots facepalm themselves.
"That wasn't me, you idiot!" Eggman snapped, both in annoyance and in fright.
"Uh...I think we'd better like RUUUUUN!" Bokkun screamed hysterically in pure terror as he pointed behind them, panicking in fright so hard that he was beginning to cry.
Looking to see what the message-bot was looking at, the evil scientist and the other four robots all gasped and yelped in horror as they saw a large herd of giant light-blue elephant like monsters come charging straight towards them and to make things worse, unbeknownst to them, the creatures were being chased by the same now dead giant Snake-flying monster that Sonic and Elise had escaped from back in Mobius. It roared in mindless fury as it chased after the herd who ran straight towards the evil bumbling villains who frantically panicked and feared for their lives.
"No! Not again!" Eggman exclaimed in fear, before he quickly attempted to make his Egg Mobile to fly faster, flying in nearly impressive speed that would have made Sonic jealous, and his stupid lackies falling off of their seats with cries and high-pitched girly shrieks, most falling onto the floor, while Cubot ended up getting a face-plant on the glass of the shield of the ride, quite painfully.
Unfortunately, one of the ground monsters ended up bashing into Egg Mobile so hard that it went flying really high into the air with it's passengers trapped inside.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Eggman, Decoe, Bocoe, Bokkun, Orbot and Cubot all screamed as they spun out of control before vanishing in the sky with a blink and would eventually crash into another part of this dangerous world.
A/N: Sorry to cut the chapter short, but I thought it would have been a better idea to return to Sonic, Elise and Amy in the next chapter, and as I wrote this one, I felt that even Eggman should know what to not touch as he knew about the risks of the Sun Stone. Especially what happened with his brother Julius(spoilers here) in Sonic DX Adventures, which I still want to finish, but still stuck on at the moment.
