ACxOCU Ch 23. The End of an Unaverage Multiverse.
(In a flash of light they appear in an all white area with only a giant building in the center.)
"Woah I take it, we've made it to the center of the multiverse." Says Menthis in awe looking around at the bleak all white landscape.
"Welcome little brother and all his companions, why don't you see what I've been up to?" Rings out Mathias's voice and the giant doors open on the building.
(They all head inside as the doors shut behind them.)
(In the center of the room is the return pad with Mathias standing on it holding Stewie from behind with a gun held against his head as they walk in.)
"I'd be careful with what you are deciding to do. My colleague is off killing other Stewies so this might be the only one left." Says Mathias with a grin.
"You bastard!" Shouts Chris but Mathias presses the gun harder to Stewie's head.
"Screw this crap!" Says Junior pulling out a gun and grabbing Menthis and putting the gun against his head, "Kill him and you'll lose the other half of yourself."
"Clever man." Says Mathias with a smile not loosening his hold of Stewie.
"What is he talking about Menthis?" Asks Chris in confusion by what he means.
"Better tell him before I do." Says Junior.
With a sigh Menthis says, "In the beginning there were three universes where I'm from a world of a guardian angel, a world of magic and a world with a man who would do anything for his family he's seen them." Menthis says pointing to Eddie, "When those worlds ended the men couldn't accept what was lost and that their stories were over. That part became Mathias and the part that was willing to had became me and attached to Eddie and sought refuge in his universe." He sighs sadly "I was the best part of those men and he was the worst but in the end I guess we're one and the same."
"But what does this have to do with Stewie?" Asks Chris, shocked by this revelation.
"That's the best part!" Laughs Mathias, "This dumbass made the prime universe then made the impeccable decision to tell the church to give a letter to your dog describing every detail of what he'd done not thinking that it might come back to bite him someday.
"What does that have to do with you guys?" Asks Chris looking at him and Menthis.
"Well it turns out the church that found out was also raising us to be able to one day usurp him as the creator of the universe and to do that we had to make sure that enough of the multiverse's Stewies were dead so it couldn't possibly default to one of them." Says Mathias with a twisted smile.
"Is this true Menthis?" Asks Chris looking at Menthis.
"Yes…." Says Menthis not looking up at him.
"How could you?" Chris asks.
"I never meant for any of this to happen." Says Menthis tears starting to show in his eyes.
"I told you guys he wasn't who he seems to be." Says Junior tightening his grip on Menthis.
"I don't care." Replies Chris.
"What do you mean you don't care?" Asks Junior.
"I mean even if this is all his fault I know he wouldn't intentionally harm anyone I care about that's not the kind of person he is because he's my friend." Says Chris smiling at Menthis.
"Chris." Menthis replies weakly smiling now through his tears.
"How noble of you." Says Mathias pointing his gun at Chris firing it but narrowly missing him, "But from my experience nobility is a fruitless endeavor.
"Aaahhhh!" Screams Junior being jabbed in the back with a cattle prod by a Robot Brian who walked up behind him causing to let go again.
"We meet again, you wretched vermin." Says Robot Brian kicking Junior in the stomach while he's on the ground, "Now that the actual threat is down Menthis if you would." Says Robot Brian leading him to the return pad and pushing him on it then grabs the multiverse remote and the orb, putting it in his chest and begins overloading the return pad.
Mathias lets go of Stewie pushing him forward, "Any last words before we leave you here?"
"Yeah Robot Brian remote shutdown phase four." Says Stewie.
"What did he just say?" Asks Robot Brian who suddenly finds himself unable to move and slowly shutting down.
"I knew you were worthless!" Shouts Mathias kicking Robot Brian aside, "And you!" Hitting the butt of his gun against the return pad controller then turning it on and firing at Stewie.
(Junior jumps up and catches the bullet in his chest, sending him crashing down into Stewie.)
"All I wanted was my life back, that's all." Cries Mathias reloading his gun.
"Well that's too bad!" Says Menthis tackling Mathias off the return pad and punching him in the back of his head.
"Quick everyone to the return pad!" Says Stewie helping Junior up with Chris and Eddie helping.
As Menthis turns to walk away Mathias grabs him by the ankle, "You can't leave me here brother." Mathias says.
"Yes…I…CAN!" Menthis shouts and uses his other foot to kick him in the face and runs to the return pad as Stewie punches in coordinates on the multiverse remote and they disappear in a flash of light.
(As the light fades a familiar yard appears and music begins to play.)
Sleep don't visit.
So I choke on sun.
(They're eyes slowly adjust to sunlight.)
And the days blur into one.
And the backs of my eyes.
"I think we're home." Says Stewie.
On things I've never done.
"I think Junior needs to go to the hospital." Says Chris in concern.
"No I'm fine,'' Junior says, taking off his shirt revealing a bullet proof vest.
Sheets are swaying from an old clothesline.
"Bullet proof vest smart." Replies Stewie.
"Yeah still hurts like hell though." Says Junior with a wheeze.
Like a row of captured ghosts over old dead grass.
"It's good to be back home." Says Eddie with a sigh.
Is never much but we made the most.
"Yeah, let's go home." Says Menthis standing up with a smile.
