Bookstore Surprises
Chapter Two
Lucius looked up when he heard what sounded like a person bumping into a bookshelf. He had felt eyes on him but did not want to alert whoever was observing him. However, now he did not see anyone. He frowned slightly before marking his place in his book. He gave his immediate surroundings another cursory glance, rose from his chair, and made his way to the front of BÅchord to pay for his book.
When passing the first row of books he caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye. He paused and had a better look. He saw a young woman with a pixie haircut and petite build. She was facing away from him, so he could not see her face. Yet, he had a feeling that he knew her. He frowned again. 'Why would I feel as though I know her?' He thought to himself. He mentally shook his head and was about to walk away when he noticed her try to retrieve a book that was impossible for her to reach.
He strode over, pulled the book from the shelf, and presented it to her. "Here you are miss-" His voice died when he saw her face. The young woman's eyes were wide with shock and a number of other emotions that he was unable to place.
"Miss Granger?"
