Bookstore Surprises
Chapter Three
The two adults stood in silence, each staring at the other. Not knowing what to do.
Hermione's mind was racing. 'Why is Lucius Malfoy standing in front of me? Why the hell is he being polite to me? What am I doing just standing here? I should leave.' But despite her thoughts Hermione stayed where she was. Eyes fixed on the man before her.
Lucius' mind was in a similar state to Hermione's. 'What am I doing? Why am I still standing here? It would be best for both of us if I just left. But… I have no desire to leave. Why?'
Just as Lucius thought that the bell over the door to the shop tinkled. Causing both of them jump and return to reality.
Hermione quickly turned and hurried out of the store before Lucius had a chance to say anything. He looked at the spot she had just been, feeling a little forlorn. Without stopping to think he tucked the book she had wanted under his arm with his. He finished making his way to the front of the shop and purchased both books.
