Chapter Fifteen
Lucius caught movement out of the corner of his eye. He looked over and saw Hermione standing next to him. Lucius blinked how long had she been standing there? He was preparing to stand when Hermione smiled. Seeing her smile so openly made him pause.
"I'm sorry that I left so abruptly when you asked that I call you Lucius. It just surprised me. I would be happy to call you Lucius. However, I do have one stipulation."
Lucius raised an eyebrow and gave a small smirk. "Which would be?"
Hermione blushed a little but continued with what she had been planning to say. "That you stop calling me miss Granger and use my given name."
Lucius stood and took Hermione's hand. He gave it a light kiss. "It will be a pleasure to do so, Hermione." The blush on Hermione's cheeks deepened and she looked away. Lucius just smiled and slowly released her hand.
They were silent for a few moments. Hermione was desperately trying to find something to say, while Lucius simply stood still enjoying the fact that he had again made Hermione speechless. Eventually she noticed the book Lucius had left on the arm of the chair and reached over to pick it up. "A science fiction novel?" She asked as she looked at the book.
"Not what you were expecting?" Was Lucius' lightly toned response.
"I'm not sure what I was expecting." Hermione honestly replied as she flipped the book over to read the synopsis on the back. "This book does sound intriguing."
"You have not read it before?"
Hermione looked up at Lucius and gave a small laugh. "I do love reading, as I'm sure you know. Though, I'm sure most of the books in this store are ones that I have never read. Which is one reason why I love it. I always find something new here."
