Thank you to everyone who read or provided kudos for the last chapter. You are so fabulous.

This was originally one large chapter, but when it hit 9000 words, I decided to split and flush out a few things. I also worked on the original rewrites on Thanksgiving. This chapter contains a lot of new material.

This is the last chapter for Thanksgiving.

As mentioned before, this title comes from the Linkin Park song invisible.

Chapter 45:…I'll pick you up right off the ground

Once the car got to the Bolton House, Chad really didn't want to talk to anybody. Thankfully, he was an expert at sneaking into Troy's bedroom. Okay, he was an expert at sneaking out of Troy's bedroom. Therefore the reverse was possible. Troy's bedroom was always his one haven outside of the basketball court in this house, and he needed that right now. Especially because he wanted to avoid additional conversations with his mom for the moment.

Except when he arrived at Troy's room, he realized it wasn't really Troy's room anymore. Instead, it was Jack's bedroom. He could tell by the suitcases and boxes of clothes inside. It was another sign of how things were falling apart and have been for a while.

The logical part of Chad's mind knew that whatever happened yesterday was more than just a result of everything else going on. He knew things have been rough for a while. Jack was always available to babysit Alex because Lucy was away on business. Considering his father's business trips were mostly to fuck Tiffany, Chad has a good idea of what Lucy's business trips actually were.

So maybe this was like him and Taylor again. Yes, he developed feelings for someone else, but the relationship was going to fall apart anyway. There were too many lies. He lied about Jamie, and she lied about his father being a piece of shit who made her too uncomfortable to be in his house. That's not how you build a strong relationship.

Lucy screwed up Troy's relationship with Kim for money and had an affair. She also kicked Jack out for taking Troy's side. So Jack falling in love with his mom or vice versa didn't change those facts. Maybe it just drove them to each other because they needed one another to get through the turbulence. He wasn't even mad about his mom kissing Jack after catching Charles with Tiffany. It makes sense. You turn to your best friend after something like that. They just took things a little further. He definitely wanted Sharpay right now, and thankfully she appeared.

"Hey, sorry I would have been up here sooner, but I was accosted by a five-year-old. Cousin Libby wanted to let me know Mr. Ryan was coming because Lucy is mean," Sharpay said as she walked into the room and quickly sat down next to him on the bed. "Do you want to talk about it?" Sharpay wrapped an arm around him.

"Libby is actually the daughter of one of Jack's cousins. I don't even know where to start. Although I wish that I chose another room other than Jack's new one." Chad said, pointing to the box of Jack's possessions.

"So this was Troy's room before things fell apart?" Sharpay asked.

"Yes," Chad answered simply.

"Your father is wrong, by the way, about everything," Sharpay told him emphatically.

"Well, of course, he is. He's an asshole. He's wrong about everything, well, almost everything." Because apparently, his mom was into Jack. It really shouldn't have shocked him because they definitely cuddled a lot.

"You and I both know that nothing happened between your mom and Jack before their respective marriages imploded on their own. They just kind of found each other in the aftermath. There's nothing wrong with that. It happened fast, but we will just bring this up next time your mom freaks out about us moving too fast." Sharpay remarked.

"Is it weird that I'm mad that's what happens and not the other way around? Because I would have loved Jack as my stepdad growing up." Chad confessed. "That man actually loves me. You heard my mom. He's the one trying to get her to calm down and accept us."

"Which is good. Even Carolyn is acknowledging that her reaction is partially triggered because of how bad her marriage was. She's also really mad at Jason right now for taking Jack's phone because she can't text him." Chad laughed at that.

"I think they're a little addicted to each other. Jack is the one that came to check on us after the Taylor fiasco. Jack helped us with our midterm project. He even checked up on us after the hell weekend when I found out about your mom, and you found out about Alex."

"He brought me cookies when you were at your away game and told me it was okay to be mad at Kim. He even watched the first quarter with me." Sharpay told him.

"You didn't tell me that." But that just told Chad that Jack was always his better father.

"You were too interested in my text conversation with Ryan."

"True. That just proves Jack has been there all the time when Charles was not. So is it wrong I am mad I missed out on having a good dad growing up?" Chad asked his girlfriend.

"Olivia always tells me it's okay to feel the way we feel. You know I am mad at Vince for not breaking up with Darby sooner." Chad snuggles in closer at her words.

"I also wish that would have been the case. Especially since your mom manipulated Jose into having sex with her, and Jose went along with it because Carmen needed braces and health insurance in general." Chad heard a very interesting conversation in Spanish between José and his Abuela. His family members tend to forget he is fluent.

She's mad José didn't come to her instead of taking Darby's offer. Also, they now have enough family members to start their own LGBTQ chapter of the Sanchez family.

"I hate my mom so much. Trust me, I would have loved to have my dad marry someone else who wasn't horrible."

"This is all going to blow up downstairs. I am pretty sure mom wants to pull out Lucy's hair, and that's before she acknowledged she was in love with Lucy's soon-to-be ex-husband." Chad sighed.

"So do I. That bitch took $1 million to break up my best friend and your best friend. You do not mess with my friends." Sharpay was visibly furious about that, and Chad didn't blame her. Chad was also hurt by her actions.

"As much as I want to see that, can we just stay up here for a while?" Chad asked. "I'm not ready for people yet."

"After seeing Darby this afternoon, I really don't feel like mingling with people either. Although there is something, I do need." Before he could ask what, Sharpay was kissing him. Then, when he felt Sharpay pushing him on the bed, he pulled away slightly.

"We should totally not be making out on Troy's bed." Because Troy would kill him.

"It's Jack's bed now. BTW Amanda finally told me that she walked in on Jack taking your mom's bra off yesterday when she walked over to let them know their food arrived."

"You know I'm a little entitled to a bit of vengeance," Chad said before he returned to kissing her again.

"This is why I adore you. Besides, we do have an engagement to celebrate." This was very true.

XXXX

A little bit later¶

Jack pulled up outside a house that wasn't really his anymore with his son, grandson, almost daughter-in-law, and the woman, his new girlfriend's ex-husband, got pregnant. The fact that Kim and Tiffany were exchanging pregnancy horror stories just made the entire situation more surreal. Their stories just made him angrier with Lucy and Charles. Both of these young women were in this situation because of their bad choices.

He only came to support Troy when he told the family about Alex. Now he will be there to support Troy when he probably tells his mom off for what she did to Gabriella. He would tell everybody in a few weeks about the breakup of his marriage. Today he would just go through the motions. It wouldn't be the first time he put on an act.

"Deep cleansing breath. Just remember, Troy, that if they hate us, we probably will not have to see them ever again. Considering your parents are getting a divorce, this is your final family holiday." Kim said as he grabbed Alex out of the car seat.

"That's so reassuring," Troy said as he grabbed Alex's diaper bag. "Some of the people here are my dad's family."

"Your family cannot react any worse than mine. I am not on speaking terms with my stepmom. She's probably going to cut me out of the will when she finds out I'm not going to marry Charles." Tiffany said to Kim. "That was what yesterday's dinner was about."

"As I told you earlier, my mom did that. But she also hired a hitman to crash into my car in hopes of triggering a miscarriage. That's why Alex was delivered by emergency cesarean early. Yesterday on my 21st birthday, she confessed that she was the one who did it." Most of these details were in his letter, but he didn't know how much the others knew. Troy didn't look surprised, and neither was Tiffany.

"I learned the basics in Vegas and the rest yesterday. Although Kim also won't let me read that letter." Troy explained.

"I'm not after your reaction to the letter that was sent to Maria. You're better off not knowing." Kim told Troy.

Before Jack could ask Troy if he let Kim read the letter on the drive there, a cab pulled up to the house. Thankfully, it was his mother and not his mother-in-law. Considering his mom hated Lucy, she would probably start doing cartwheels when she found out about the divorce.

"There's my favorite grandson." His mother, Katrina, said as she wrapped Troy in a hug. "We have so much to talk about.

"I am your only grandson," Troy remarked.

"Who is this very pregnant young lady with you. I hope she's not your girlfriend. I'm too young to be a great grandmother." Both Troy and Kim went very pale at that statement.

"I'm Tiffany, and I did not have sex with your grandson," Tiffany told her directly.

"Tiffany is Charles's ex-girlfriend, and she is carrying Chad's half-siblings," Jack explained as he got his mother's bags out of the cab.

"That boy was always into young girls. It was a shame what he did to Carolyn." Katrina said as she went to pay the driver. "She deserves so much better." Of course, his mom is looking at his hand right now where his wedding ring should be. Shit, she's always been very perceptive.

"Grandma always liked Chad's mother more than my mother." Jack could hear Troy whispered to Kim.

"There's probably a reason for that. It will probably come in handy when she finds out that they are now dating." Kim whispered back to Troy.

"Yes, I am the latest victim of Charles Danforth. Fortunately, I figured out what an evil bastard he was before the wedding. That wonderful woman over there is carrying your great-grandson." Tiffany said as she walked into the house.

"What do you mean, great-grandson? I guess this is what Madison wouldn't tell me." What did she mean by Madison?

"Grandma, I'm just going to go put your luggage in Kim's car. You're going to be staying at our house." On the ride there, Kim agreed to let his mom stay with her and Troy. He plans to tell her about the divorce later tonight. Although he is still not sure how much to tell her about what Lucy did.

"No. I'm not leaving until I get some answers. Like why are you not wearing your wedding ring anymore?" His mother demanded.

"Lucy and I are separating because…" Jack doesn't even know how to finish that sentence.

"She's an evil cheating bitch who doesn't really give a fuck about her son." Kim supplied for him.

"And Lucy didn't want me to be a part of my son's life. Yes, Alex is my son." Troy answered.

"What Kim said." Jack sighed. His mother just gave him a sad look.

"You're Kimberly Bolton, the new heir of Beijing Gardens worldwide, and I assume my grandson's wife? A wife he never told me about who he has a two-year-old with." Fuck, how did she already know this much?

"Great, my grandfather probably put out a press release. Hopefully, he didn't mention Alex by name. Yes, I'm that, Kim. And it's just girlfriend right now." His mother gave both a dubious look.

"Just to reassure you, we did not get married without telling you. It just made sense for various reasons that Kim take the last name Bolton early." Troy tried to explain, but his mom still looked at him skeptically.

"But apparently, you have a child together?" Katrina asked as she sat down on the couch on the front porch.

"Yes, and we're also engaged. Kim took the last name Bolton because she wants to have the same last name is our son."

"Yet, last month, you were still with Gabriella." How did his mom know that? Maybe Troy actually called his grandmother and was trying to prepare her for this.

"I was with Kim first. But because of Lucy, she went away for a while." Troy explained as Kim handed Alex over to him.

"I guess I should formally introduce you to your great-grandson Alexander Troy Kim Bolton." His mother almost looked like she was about to have a heart attack. "Waved to your Nana," Troy instructed Alex.

"Hi Nana," Alex said as he hid in Troy's jacket. Jack was tempted to do the same right now.

"These are not the answers I was expecting to get here. You've been a dad for a few years. You also had a completely different girlfriend the last time I was here, and she did not know about Alex." How would his mom know that?

"It's a very complicated story," Troy said to her.

"We have time. If I go inside, I'm just going to get in a fight with your mom." His mother said darkly.

"That's also likely if any of the rest of us go in," Kim said under her breath.

"I think I need a glass of wine for this conversation. Jack, could you please go inside and get me something to drink." Jack knew his mother wanted to talk to Troy alone.

"Actually, I could use a glass of wine myself. I will go with you." Kim said as she got up, taking Alex with her.

"Troy's Aunt Julie controls the liquor at these things. She's obsessed about not serving the underage." His mother remarked.

"Good thing I turned 21 yesterday," Kim said as she walked through the front door.

As he followed behind, Jack heard his mother ask, "How old were you two when you conceived my great-grandchild?"

He was grateful that no one in the family asked Kim questions as they walked to the drinks. It probably helped that Troy wasn't holding her hand. He could see Amanda was already there, talking to one of his cousins. Jack hopes that he finds Carolyn soon. As usual, Julie was controlling the Bar. She had a thing about control.

"Jack, where were you this morning? Lucy was here all by herself doing the last-minute preparations until I got here." He hated Julie. She was ridiculously condescending and overly hypocritical. It got worse after she married some tech millionaire in Seattle. Thankfully he was smart enough not to come to these things.

"This is Troy's new girlfriend, Kimberly. I was invited to spend the morning at her parents' house." Jack wasn't sure what last name to give. He was convinced that Julie would go into cardiac arrest if she found out that Troy's girlfriend had the last name Bolton now.

"That's funny; this morning Lucy said Troy's girlfriend's name was Gabriella," Julie said with a confused frown.

"Of course she did. I'm going to need that wine now. Also, could you give me a shot of rum?" Kim said as she grabbed a diet caffeine-free coke from the cooler and poured It into a glass.

"Lucy doesn't like Troy's new girlfriend because she has a child." Jack decided not to mention that the child was Troy's. "I thought you were drinking the wine?"

"I am. The coke is for Troy. I need my boyfriend, mellow. He is too edgy after your talk and the email from the lawyers. I should've known the witch was going to find a way to ruin my emancipation from her." Jack was going to ask her how a coke would mellow out his son when he realized what the rum was for.

"I'm going to need to see some ID before you can take that. I doubt that Troy's girlfriend is old enough to drink."

"Trust me, Julie, she's 21."

"It's fine. Will you hold Alex for a minute while I get my driver's license out." He was sure that Julie was noticing how much Alex looked like Troy. When Kim gave Julie her driver's license, she went completely silent for a few seconds.

"Does that driver's license have your new legal name?" Jack asked as he realized why Julie was so quiet.

"Of course, it does. I had to get a new one recently, no matter what." Kim shot back.

"You're not just Troy's girlfriend," Julie said with a touch of anger.

"No, she's not," Jack said to Julie as Kim poured the Rum into the coke.

"That child is Troy's?" He and Kim both nodded their agreement at the question.

"Troy Alexander Bolton, get in here right now," Julie yelled so loud that Troy probably would hear her if he was still in California.

Troy quickly ran into the room when he heard Julie screaming. Kim quickly passed the drink to Troy as he grabbed her hand.

"How could you get married without telling anybody?" This is how Troy's aunts, uncles, and Lucy's mother found out about Kim and Alex. At least Jack had alcohol for this conversation and Carolyn. She quickly found him in the chaos. Julie was too busy yelling at Troy to notice that he was holding Carolyn's hand the entire time. His mother did. Her only reaction was a smile.

Lucy's reaction when she arrived 15 minutes later was not as benevolent. But Jack didn't really give a fuck. So much for people not finding out about the divorce until Christmas. The whole house knew before Lucy was done yelling at him.

XXXX

Berkeley Madison: Hey, we're here at the house. I'm currently hiding out with Gabriella in Troy's treehouse. We are avoiding people. Apparently, there's a big fight going on in the house. So we were able to sneak in without anybody noticing us.

Berkeley Madison: Okay, Lucy was furious at Jack for bringing "that evil home-wrecking bitch Carolyn" for Thanksgiving to realize Gabriella wasn't following behind like a good girl.

Berkeley Madison: I assume the Carolyn in question is Chad's mom, a fellow member of the get Gabriella in treatment conspiracy group?

Berkeley Madison: I think everybody knows about Alex or the divorce. Thankfully, Gabriella does not yet.

Berkeley Madison: She burst into tears as soon as we got up here. I think she had an epiphany in the car. Or maybe she does know the Alex truth. I'm not even entirely sure at this point.

Ryan: I think we're about 15 minutes away.

Berkeley Madison: Good because I think I will need you to help me extract a crying Gabriella from the treehouse.

Ryan: We will be there soon. Just keep Gabby there. Per Maria, who used to be friends with Lucy, she's been accusing Carolyn of screwing Jack for years. Although considering what she did, it might be true now.

Madison: The universe has been smiling on us today, so probably.

Ryan: My dad likes Zack and has forgiven Taylor for destroying Evans hall. This is a very weird ride. Or, as Zack put it earlier, this is the weirdest first date ever.

Berkeley Madison: I'm glad you meet the parent drive is going well.

Ryan: My dad is actually going to help Zack on his mission to find his biological father.

Berkeley Madison: How did that conversation come about?

Ryan: I don't even know, and I was there.

"Why am I even here?" Gabriella asked Madison. They were hiding in Troy's old treehouse because Gabriella couldn't bring herself to walk into the house when they got there. She didn't want to see the happy couple just yet. She made the right decision when she heard Lucy curse out Kim and Chad's mom, who happened to be there. Surprisingly Madison followed behind her. At least she wasn't crying alone.

"Lucy just wants to use me to hurt Troy. It's obvious he's moved on. I was lying to myself before." Tears were still streaking down her face.

"I'm glad you realize that. I think you realize that you're not here to get Troy back." Madison said, wrapping an arm around her. "You are here for closure and to start your own healing process."

"I could've waited until Monday."

"I think you needed to be here. You couldn't understand why things are the way they are without being here. I'm just glad I'm here with you, so you don't have to go through this alone."

"I am too. I can't believe I trusted Mercedes." She feels like such a fool.

"She told you what you wanted to hear," Madison remarked.

"That I'm not crazy because maybe I am. I threw a lamp at Troy. I showed up naked to his dorm room. I tried to kill myself last May." Gabriella couldn't believe she let that last one slip. No one knew what she almost did.

"What?" Madison asked, not as surprised as Gabriella assume she would be.

"I didn't because Troy showed up. I am my aunt Natalie. I don't want to end up like her." Gabriella just cried harder.

"You're not Natalie, Gabriella."

"But I could end up like her. So how do I move forward?" Gabriella asked, terrified there wouldn't be an answer to that question.

"One step at a time. Do you want to talk to Troy alone? I'll go get him and bring him up here." Madison offered.

"I don't even know where to start. I fucked up."

"I'm sorry I threw a lamp at you and spent most of the first half of the semester ignoring you and doing Jell-O shots with Mercedes. That seems like a good place to start." Madison remarked.

"I stopped taking my medicine. Mercedes said I didn't need it, and I wanted to believe her." Gabriella confessed.

"I know."

"Mercedes said I was okay. That there's nothing wrong with me."

"Probably because Mercedes wants everyone to be like her. Although your medication was not working for you, we just need to find something that works better."

"Okay," Gabriella mumbled against Madison.

"By the way, there's nothing wrong with you. You're bipolar. That's just who you are. That doesn't mean you're broken."

"I hate the doctor I have at the student center. I don't want to go back there." Gabriella confessed.

"I have a list, remember. We will find somebody you like." Madison reassured her.

"I like my doctor here. She was good. She's the only one I've ever liked. Although I didn't like the side effects of the Prozac."

"We can call her. You might as well take advantage of you being in Albuquerque."

"You can call her after I talk to Troy," Gabriella said as she pulled her phone out of her purse and gave it to Madison. "She's in my address book under the good psychiatrist."

"I'll call her as soon as I go get Troy for you. Wait here." Madison said, pulling away. She didn't want Madison to leave, but this conversation needed to happen.

Just as Madison was about to go downstairs and retrieve Troy for her, Gabriella saw him coming out of the house with a beautiful little boy that looked exactly like him. She recognized the woman walking behind him as Kimberly Bolton. She also looked like the child Troy was holding. When the girl quickly kissed Troy on the mouth, Gabriella wanted to cry. Thankfully she had Madison still holding her.

"Are you okay?" Kim asked Troy as they went to sit underneath the treehouse.

"You just survived being yelled at by my aunt Julie and my mother again. I should be asking you that question." Troy said as he put his arm around Kim. "We only got out of there because Carolyn distracted her."

"Bless your future stepmom," Kim remarked, almost cheerily. "Maybe accidentally showing my new driver's license was a really bad way for your family to find out my new last name was Bolton."

"At least everything's out there, and everybody is way too interested in the implosion of my parents' marriage to care about me."

"Too bad they're all blaming Carolyn." Kim sighed.

"I think it's only mom's side of the family outside of her siblings. They know better."

"I think the jury is still out on aunt Julie. She is really mad about you getting married without her." They were married. She and Troy have only been broken up for a month, and he was already married to someone else. She would kill him if she didn't remember what her mom told her yesterday.

"I just have to deal with telling your family about us having a two-year-old together. You're the one who has to deal with the divorce and the whole Carolyn situation on top of the other stuff. I'm okay. I'm worried about you." Gabriella looked away when they started to kiss.

"This is what I needed to know?" Gabriella asked Madison, tears falling again.

"Yes. I'm sorry." Madison hugged her again, and Gabriella let her. Not only was Troy already married to someone else, but they also have a child together. A child that Troy never told her about.

"Troy didn't even know about Alex until about a month ago. His mom purposely kept Kim away, and she was unable to tell him." Madison whispered. Even if she didn't, Gabriella sure Troy was too busy making out with Kim to hear her. Her heart hurt for so many reasons.

"I'm going to need a couple more weeks to get used to Carolyn being my future stepmom. Although considering what mom did to dad and us, I never want to see her again after today. I'm glad Carolyn got us out of there before I punched out my mother. I'm furious about what she did to Gabriella."

"I don't blame you. I read the letter," Kim told Troy.

"I can't believe that Lucy used Gabriella. She was just another pawn in her scheme to keep us apart. How could she use Gabriella like that? Even though you and I are back together, I still care about her. I don't want to see her hurt like this."

What Troy said made her feel a little bit better. Gabriella would really like to know what Lucy did involving her. It had to be more than dragging her here to Albuquerque to play spoiler. So caught up in her musings, she didn't see Katrina from the plane approach Kim and Troy. What was Katrina doing there?

"Kim, do you mind if I talk to my grandson for a little while? We didn't get to finish our conversation from earlier." Troy was Katrina's grandson.

"I'm going to go back inside and watch the Lucy and Carolyn show from a safe distance. Your mom should know better than to argue with a lawyer. She's just incriminating herself. I can't wait until the divorce is finalized. Do you want me to take Alex back inside with me?" Kim asked.

"I know that being a dad is new for me, but I can take care of Alex for a few minutes. Kim, he is my son too." The words hurt Gabriella for many reasons.

"Lucy kept Troy from his son?" Gabriella asked.

"Yes, she knew Kim was pregnant and never told Troy. She was paid $1 million not to. Although I don't even know if Troy knows that. It was all in a letter that Kim's mom sent to your mom yesterday. That's why I'm here. I knew this was going to happen, and I couldn't let you go through this alone." Gabriella should be angry, but she wasn't. At least Madison was here. "Your mom is on her way too. I just sent a text. Ryan said there about 5 minutes away." They were coming for her? To help her? "You're not alone, Gabriella," Madison whispered.

Gabriella tried to turn out Madison's words of comfort and focus on Troy's conversation with his grandmother. Apparently, he did know that Lucy paid $1 million to keep him away from Kim. Also, because Lucy treated her so badly, Kim was terrified to tell Troy or even Jack about the pregnancy. She couldn't be mad at Troy for not telling her about Alex because he only found out a few weeks ago, just like Madison told her.

Although what infuriated Gabriella was finding out Lucy purposely used her to keep Troy and Kim apart. Lucy was even responsible for Gabriella moving to Albuquerque in the first place, per the letter that Troy mentioned earlier. It turns out that her chance meeting with Troy during karaoke at the ski lodge was completely engineered by Lucy.

Before Gabriella even knew what she was doing, she was already climbing down the treehouse ladder. She didn't even register Troy's gasp of surprise or Madison screaming at her. She was too busy running straight for the one woman she hated more than anybody else. Then, before anybody could stop her, the dark-haired woman who destroyed her life was out on the floor. Blood was dripping from her nose.

"How could you do that to your own son? How could you do that to me? I really loved him, and you used me, you fuking heartless Bitch. Was the money worth it?" Gabriella was screaming at Lucy as her tears streamed down her face. She was now shaking with anger and pain. Within seconds, Gabriella collapsed to the floor. As promised, Madison was the one who pulled her up and held her the entire time as she continued to cry. Troy was right beside her.

XXXX

As soon as Zack parked, Taylor and Ryan were running into the house. Madison's last text message from seven minutes earlier let them know that Gabriella now knew about Alex. They knew that was a recipe for disaster. Taylor was so worried about Gabriella that she didn't even have time to questioned her brother's presence at the Bolton house.

As Taylor saw the bloody Lucy Bolton lying on the floor, she realized they were too late. Taylor ran to a crying Gabriella, who was being held by Madison and a woman who was probably Troy's grandmother. Taylor quickly pulled Gabriella into a hug. Troy was nearby, already crying. Ryan was telling him this wasn't his fault, but he wasn't listening.

Taylor was so caught up trying to comfort Gabriella that she didn't hear the verbal fight between Troy's mom and Maria. Taylor didn't turn around until she heard Maria slammed Lucy Bolton up against the wall.

Taylor would find out later from Amanda that it took six cops, including Chad's Aunt Mariah and a trained psychologist, a.k.a. Troy's grandmother, to break up the fight. However, at that point, they were in Zack's SUV when the cops arrived. Being the daughter and sister of several cops, Carolyn told him to get Gabriella out of there immediately. She would take care of it. Madison and Troy instantly listened to her and got Gabriella out as quickly as possible.

Ryan sat in the front seat next to Zack. Madison got in the row behind, allowing Taylor and Troy to sit with Gabriella in the middle. Her head was currently cradled in Taylor's lab as Troy stroked her hair. He looked ready to cry. Taylor knew he was blaming himself for this. However, Taylor didn't know how to convey with a look that it wasn't his fault. The only person she blames was Lucy.

"Where are we going?" Zack asked. Taylor wanted to know the same thing.

"I called Gabriella's old doctor. She's going to meet us at Albuquerque Medical Center." That explains what Madison was doing when Troy and Taylor got Gabriella in the car. "Gabriella, is that what you still want to do?" Madison asked.

"Yes. I'm not okay." Gabriella whispered.

"You don't have to be okay. We have you." Taylor whispered as Gabriella kept crying.

To be continued…

Thanksgiving is now officially over. It's time for the aftermath.

I also want to say that this might be my new favorite chapter of the revised version of the story. I love this version so much more than what I wrote originally. Something was missing, and I'm glad I had a chance to come back and make it better.
