Chapter Sixteen
Lucius finished one of the short stories in the book that Hermione had recommended to him. He had to admit the stories were rather enjoyable if quick reads. He did not understand why the author of the stories, by all accounts, said that he did not like them as much as others he had written. He placed a bookmark in the book and rose to stretch his legs. He looked out one of the many windows in his library, noting how dark it had gotten. He pulled out his pocket-watch. 'Apparently I was more drawn into those stories than I thought.' He watched a couple constellations for a few moments when he noticed an owl flying towards him. He stepped away from the window and watched as the owl flew in and landed on his desk.
Lucius followed the owl and carefully removed the small scroll from its leg. The owl did not leave indicating that it had been told to wait for a response. "Now who would be writing to me in the middle of the night, and hoping for a response?" Lucius asked the owl as he broke the seal on the scroll. 'It cannot be for anything urgent. Though, sending a letter to someone after midnight would seem to indicate some amount of urgency.' He opened the scroll and began reading.
"Lucius,
"I know that it is the middle of the night, but I could not wait to tell you how much I'm enjoying the books that you recommended. I've already finished the first and am starting the second. I honestly would not have expected you to enjoy a book that could be categorized as steampunk, historical fiction, and romance. Though, I suppose I do not know you well enough yet to know what to expect. But I am curious, you told me that it is an ongoing series of retold fairy tales, with only four books thus far. Do you know when the fifth one will be published? Or which fairy tale it will be a retelling of?
"Also, how are you liking the stories I recommended? I hope that they are to your liking. They've always been some of my favorites.
-Hermione"
